La Perla Luminous

This feels like me. It feels right. Balanced. Ethereal, clean, unobtrusive, sophisticated, luxurious, iridescent....and luminous. I actually ‘consciously’ forgot for a second the name of this. I was trying to think of the most fitting word and this came to mind. Really. It makes you feel luminous. It does. It alludes to an understated elegance. I think I can safely say this Is the first time a perfume for me has the perfect name. It’s soft and gentle combined with the right amount of freshness, the ‘cedar’ and the right amount of floral, the ‘jasmine’. It has that sheer and opulent quality to it. It does feel connected to La Perla signature which I own too and instantly loved and ordered promptly. This feels more clean and fresh whereas signature feels more floral and slightly powdery from the violet. Both classy and fresh in a classy and sexy way like it’s brand La Perla. This feels like me at my best, I’ve got my life in order and everything is running smoothly. This was a blind buy and I instinctively felt I’d like it by the notes and the fact that I loved signature too gave me some safety. I’ve come to realise I love woody florals, and I also love the beautiful bottle which is a bonus. I feel I’m really learning what I love by the notes now. This makes me feel happy 😊 and at peace.

This perfume does go along with La Perla's lingerie aesthetic, this is soft, body hugging, luminous, and very feminine. This is powdery with an almost marshmellow tinge of fruity sweetness, the Jasmine is gorgeous but somehow very familiar, not indolic at all. The La Perla website says that it's "Jasmine Opur" from Givaudan so maybe I've smelled the material before. It's a jasmine sambac that is rather saturated with sandalwood and cedar and a hint of vanilla-- while also giving off that particular scent of getting ready products: lotion, makeup, hairspray. The drydown is all creamy woods and white florals and that heavenly musk -- I'd say the character of Luminous is powdery and radiant, I'm guessing the ambrette is making it work that way. I think this is very pretty, rather linear and straightforward, but still, it's very well done and smells great. While it smells like a skin scent, it does not perform like one -- the lasting power is well over 8 hours on me. I think this is one of those signature scent worthy "your skin but better" types of fragrances.

I absolutely ADORE this perfume, and I've been wearing it for three years as my signature. I've had nights where I'm out dancing and sweating and I go home and take a shower, and the next day I'll get compliments because it's still strong enough to smell it. I know that this scent isn't for everyone, but if you like light, powdery, woodsy scents, then this should be your next signature! I get compliments ALL the time when I wear it.

I really like this. It’s soft, sweet, creamy, and fluffy, without feeling cheap. It’s almost like the younger sister to La Perla Signature. They both have a prominent jasmine note and a woody base; but while Signature leans a bit a more fresher and classy due to the citruses, Luminous leans younger and more relaxed due to the musk. This is inoffensive without being boring. Reasonably moderate sillage, decent longevity.

It smelled so familiar and I could not figure it out. Finally, I realized - it smells like my mom when I was young. Not one thing in particular, but it smells like Olay face cream, Ivory soap, and some Estee Lauder perfume, all combined. So lovely

Wow 🤩 this is GORGEOUS. A softer side of this spin off. Much less citrus and woods than the first. This is heavily jasmine and a beautiful musk body. Beautiful. Really impressed again. Each LaPerla offering has really surprised me 👍🏽

@EmmaJade81, that is the note list for La Perla Signature, in the black bottle, which came out before this and has the nectarine - violet leaf notes. The above note list for Luminous is mostly correct.

This is a lovely fragrance. My nose must be off though because I get sparkling apricot drink from this 🤦🏼♀️ Either way, very feminine, a bit one-note, and inoffensive.

This is lovely and soft, very feminine. Performs well for what it is. Pretty and ladylike, safe for office etc. non offensive.

This perfume smells just lovely. I’m getting a jasminey tonka. The dry down is woodsier. All around great.

La Perla Luminous is a cosy, muted scent - woody and musky with creamy florals rounding it out nicely. It doesn't read as luminous to me - La Perla Nude would make more sense as a name, this scent being fairly intimate, smooth and musky. LPL opens with a lovely musky ambrette note, warm and soft, wearing close to the skin. Powdery, clean jasmine follows shortly, adding body. Soft woody notes emerge after a little while, adding depth. It is very smooth and creamy, initially slightly sweet, but this subsides as it progresses. The drydown is musky, woody and slightly powdery until final fade. However, like La Perla Signature, this also becomes quite thin during the drydown stage, but is not as harsh as LPS. Sillage is intimate and longevity is day-long. A subtle, inoffensive scent that is ideal for year-round everyday wear while being subtly sexy, LPL is a sensual yet elegant feminine scent that fits the profile of its parent brand pretty well. It is a simple, well-blended composition that is enjoyable for the most part. Much better than La Perla Signature in my opinion. 3/5.

Hmm... this is a mixed bag for me. Love = the fragrance balance. The simple notes and the way they are blended is stunning! They create a feminine, pretty, but warm and subtle spicy hug of a fragrance. Do not love = For such a pretty scent, the projection is WAY forward.. far too much .. family complaining and headache inducingly so! Off the back of that it became a scrub (which took several goes), and apparently there is something I am mildly allergic to in there. Overall, give it a test, but it is expensive so do not blind buy! Also, I'd maybe suggest spraying in the air and walking through for a softer effect...

This perfume is really pleasant if you love refined not-animalic jasmine. Despite of beautiful other notes of the composition- jasmine outstands here. The mood is chick, sexy, hight/thin-heels, extremely feminine and soft at the same time. Performance: you can judge- I applied 1 spray yesterday morning, today a 10AM I still detect it very well and like it even more, because now jusmine got softer and ambrette softens it even more. I appreciate this perfume for it's beauty. La Perla does a really good job

Nice, soft, dainty, calming, inoffensive, versatile, good for office and for an event. Projecting 'put-together' type of vibe without being 'in your face' with the fragrance. I can smell something that reminds me of a grapefruit in the drydown after 12 hrs. However, it has an accord that is not for me. I will be testing it more. The original La Perla Signature wasn't love at first sniff for me either. It took me at least 2 approaches to appreciate the original and fall in love with it.

Quite unique and definitely not a blind buy. If you like Gris Charnel but dont like the price tag, check it out 👌 It is spicy and delicious yet not complicated just like many La Perla perfumes. La Perla is pretty good, I was surprised I noticed it so late, it was roght there at my local Nordstrom, hope to check out more samples soon;)

Soft, creamy, round, woody floral with an elegant yet sexy vibe. I think the name is appropriate, it’s sort of like a hug yet very ethereal. Love it and a great addition to my collection at a great price point.

I really love this soft fuzzy vibe this scent is giving. Longevity is great for this scent type on my skin. I've just passed 8 hours and can still easily smell :)

One of those perfumes like Alaia's Nude, Estee Lauder's Sensuous Nude, Lalique Satine and similar. Non-descript woody, softly sweet skin scent. Jasmine here is behind the woody notes, it's not going to be too much and very floral at all. It's a simple, not intrusive, feminine perfume.

It's very nice, classic and sophosticated white floral, could be a signature scent. I was about to buy it, but it lasted for 1 hour on my skin :(

This smells mega ceder-like to me. It's pickle juice dialed up to eleven with some jasmine. I seem to be very sensitive to some ceder materials.

Sandalwood dominant fragrance.

I'll start by saying that La Perla should re-release a 2000s masterpiece like Eclix, instead of making basic and annoying stuff like this one. The opening of Luminous is nice, but the dry down is absolutely annoying for my tastes. I'm not saying it's a bad fragrance per se, but there is something I find really irritating when this dries down. Smells similar to Rihanna nude (which I used to have and gave away), and in the same time it smells like the inside of a Victoria's secret store in the worst way possible. This is something I certainly smelled before and I find it really basic, like a scent that you'd find in every other (30+) woman's wardrobe. It's a fragrance for your average woman and for this reason I understand why the wide public finds it pleasant. But for me it's a scrubber. Too bad that one spray doesn't go away after using dish soap, hand wash, Dettol bar soap and two more rounds of fragranced hand soap. Now I'm left with an itchy forearm and an annoying scent under my nose. If anyone in the UK wants this, I'll sell it real cheap (please DM me).

I really do not like this. It smells on me like very old talcum powder, like many decades old, in an old tin. A bad blind buy for me. I find it very bland, nondescript & what it does smell of is old, very generic & bordering on unpleasant. It's like old, dusty potpourri. It's also got that bitter cut flower stem note in it. Often referred to as a green note in florals. Really not for me at all. Shame as the bottle looks beautiful. Although the nude braid around the neck looks a bit cheap. I'll keep it as I only paid £15 for 50ml on a black Friday deal, shipped directly from Amazon. I would've sold it on if I had paid more.

I have an imminent uni assignment deadline n am nowhere near finished n can't think. Eek. What better time to rummage through some samples n get distracted writing a short review. On the carded sample I have, this bills itself as - "A radiant woody and floral bouquet as luminous as you are." Hmm. Maybe the fact I'm not very 'luminous' is why this isn't.. If it's only as luminous as me it's a dim bulb indeed. "What's behind the woman we see?" it asks, "#LOOKBEYOND". An odd thing to say because this comes across as a fairly vapid one note wonder to me. It's so likeable, so hard to fault, immaculately tailored, polished & shiny. What's not to like? Who needs a personality when YOU LOOK THIS GOOD. It's quite nice, I'll give it that, but so not v sexy. Something prim n reigned in. Young professional. It does have sunny quality (I don't mean 'solar' notes) but it is like a little twinkly sunbeam of very fresh clean jasmine, over some very mild creamy woods. The powder is only a pinch, a decorative speckle, a very light dusting, if you don't really like powder you could still have a go of this one. This is classy, sophisticated, perfectly balanced, bubbly, smiley, ok it IS 'luminous' I guess, I just don't care for it. Also the dry down becomes unluminous n smudged, a soft fluffy nondescript v similar to Prada Paradoxe. Overall it feels like being introduced to someone's perfect blonde hyper groomed niece at a wedding, smile, nod, lovely, nice to have met you.. now where's the buffet.. ?

Oh this baby is beautiful ! I read the notes and blind buy ordered which I never do. I love iris and musky skin scents. I loathe sweet gourmands, fruity scents, anything sharp, and heavy florals like tuberose. This was described as a skin scent, which to me is not accurate at all, and for that I am grateful. I love scents like Fleur de Peau and Sonic Flower, but I am SO sick of how light they are. This scent is musky and warm.The first few times I wore it i was a bit unsure because i felt there was a tiny fruity note, or maybe a bit of a more mature floral notes. But now I have worn it a while I just smell a beautiful woody musky scent with a small dollop of sweet. Not at all syrupy and foody thank goodness. Do not be scared of the jasmine, it is very light and smooth. I wish I could compare it to something but to me it is far from generic.It is a bit like Kayali Musk12 as far as type of scent. This is much stronger tho so it will be perfect for winter. I love this to bits !!!!!!!! and I dont love 99% of the scents I try.I have to say there is a tiny rye bread note! So just be aware

Its opening is an absolute beauty. In it I perceive some white flowers accompanied by an unlisted pepper. In addition to a jasmine, as the name of the perfume indicates, tremendously bright, I feel something powdery. Soon, a creamy and slightly salty sandalwood is present. Over time, the woody part takes over the fragrance in the shape of a very beautiful cedar. It has a remarkable-moderate projection and lasts for about 9 hours on my skin. For me it doesn't have much to do with Indivisible by Katy Perry, in which I really feel the coconut, or Fields at Nightfall by Zara among the similarities proposed by the community, although there is a certain similitude with Charnel Gray. I think it is a very good perfume, with a lot of evolution, perfect for sandalwood lovers. I will probably add it to my collection in the future. Scent 7.5/10 Duration 9/10 Sillage 7/10 Quality/price 7/10 Versatility 7/10 Packaging 7.5/10 Would I buy again? I did not buy it

I returned this perfume to Nordstroms due to its weak longevity of this perfume. I bought this perfume because it was love at first sniff. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful fragrance with a beautiful open, but the dry down is like any other designer perfume powdery. I own a lot of everyday perfumes, and I found that I did not reach for this perfume as much as my others. I think if the price point was below 100 dollars and I could see this perfume at a discount store, I would purchase it. One thing I can say about this perfume is its crowd-pleasing floral freshness.

It's a good one but without being outstanding. Really heavy on jasmine and floral notes for my taste but after around one hour it turns into woody and creamy scent. In my opinion leans to classy, elegant and feminine women. This could be a good signature scent as well as work scent because it's very inoffensive and appropriate. Longevity and sillage are decent, I would say it stays on the skin for 5 to 6 hours.

On the dry down it reminds me of Bath & Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom - which makes sense because that also contains jasmine and sandalwood. When you first spray it's really pretty, but I don't like the dry down or remembering dousing my early high school self in BBB Japanese Cherry blossom body spray, so in the end this one probably isn't for me.

Creamy musk with flowers in the opening, I love it. I want to hug myself when wearing it. It's elegant, friendly and feminine. The middle is more flowery and woody, still great. The dry down however, is a generic perfumey mall smell with a hint of vanilla, annoying and boring at the same time.

This is spectacular, it’s fresh yet warm sexy woody floral it’s incredible you have to smell this it’s one of the best perfumes I’ve smelled in a long time, OMG seriously Gorgeous, this is you’re going out on a date or you’re in love and you want the man to go crazy super beautiful

According to my skin and my nose.. Milky musk with a hint of flower. Waaay to faint for my taste. I alway spray and let a fan blow it. Usually the fragrance smell will wafting right away. Signature and Luminous didn't do that.

Absolutely gorgeous! Think floral fruity velvet on your skin,I can't describe how beautiful and sensual this fragrance is,very classy too. Very well executed,top quality powdery fruity sweetness,femininity in a bottle

This one sounds even better than the OG ,I love La Perla scents but lately I think they are a bit underrated even though they are great quality

Jasmine nicely tempered by the woody notes, but the hint of indole takes it out of my comfort zone. Indole comes up like bad breath on me.

This is pretty, a bit reminiscent of diors j’adore, a bit warmer, a bit fluffier. Smells like the inside of a department store

The opening of this is really pretty but the wood just absolutely ruins it. What a shame.
