White Iris

I've wanted it for a few months now and finally ordered, yey Update: GOT IT, this is powder!!!! Beautiful, delicate, light powder with flower tones that make it sweet and feminine. No completely sold yet but I'm gonna let it sit and also, just grow on me because at the end there's something that doesn't entirely convince me, something I associate with aerosol hair products. Before that moment, however, the image in my mind is of that soft purple tone of iris 2nd Update: After letting it sit or simply wearing it for a while, I'm completely in love with that delicate, comforting, pretty essence that it promised from the beginning but seemed to disappear after a few minutes on the first days

I love this one! It has a bright cherry almond vanillic powder smell in the beginning, which lingers on clothes, but on skin the dry down is mostly floral vanillic powder. It is definitely the strongest powder scent in my collection. I get great longevity as a bed scent and on clothes. I haven’t tested it in the heat because I think it would be suffocating. Sillage is large for the first couple of hours. I’m so glad I have this one in my collection. The scent is beautiful, but the bottle is also wonderful. Heavy glass bottle, heavy cap, nice sprayer, easy to hold and spray, and it’s pleasing to look at. My juice isn’t clear as pictured. It’s a light reddish purple. Very pretty.

Captivating! I guess it turns out that I adore iris! (And orris, violet, heliotrope.....) Follow the purple brick road.... La Perla White Iris feels like it can be worn day or night... perhaps not on a date night, for me it's more of a peaceful-evening-at-home scent. More casual and cozy than dressy. It does have a sort of dimensionality to it, like it smells thicker than the lovely purple liquid that it is. (The color of mine is a much deeper warm-purple than the clear-lavender pictured above.) Love the bottle and the heavy metal cap, it's fun to open and close. Sensory delight! Fragrance.net had it recently for a really good price and I'm glad I added it to my collection!

I love this one so much. On me this is powerful and long lasting, with the Iris, almond, and tonka most prominent. Very natural smelling cosmetics scent; the first powder scent in which I was able to distinguish the flowers. I can sense every note listed. Well balanced, soft but tenacious, comforting, cozy, grounded. It reminds me of shopping at Crabtree and Evelyn for almond hand creme. One of my male friends finds this maternal, and as a result decidedly unsexy, but for the same reason, I like to wear it for work.

this starts with a hint of violet along with stronger almond and heliotrope. a pretty powdery cloud. i get a hint of orris after a few minutes. this seemed SO familiar, and after awhile i realized that this very similar to victoria's secret cashmere vanilla jasmine, though i think that one is slightly smoother, if memory serves.

Absulutely stunning fragrance. Received it today and it shot straight up to my top 5 favourites! I love Iris and Orris in perfume but all too often they smell too sweet. This one doesnt. Perfect balance of fresh, yet full bodied and gorgeous flowery powder that is refreshingly...not dated. Gorgeous scent. Long lasting too.

A powdery, iris, slightly violet with some sweet fruit delight . Medium projections and silage but doesn't last long. Just lovely. I have never smelled insolence but I imagine it has some of those nuances.

This perfume is fabulous! I love powder scents so this is right up my alley. Powdered almonds...so delicious. <3

I am in the process of getting to know this blind buy better. Given my love (obsession?) with iris and the bargain price at which I purchased it, it was a low risk with a potential for high payoff! I had never tried any of La Perla's fragrances before. I purchased this along with it's sister scent Contemporary Tuberose (same deal cost-wise) and so far I am impressed enough to see what some of their other offerings are like. I think this is a quality scent, well blended and very pretty. Although iris is well represented here by a rather creamy, slightly vegetal orris, it is the heliotrope that lends the fragrance the majority of its powderiness. I certainly don't mind because though often written off as old fashioned, i think heliotrope is quite beautiful. As a matter of fact it calls to mind one of the greatest purple fragrances ever created - L'Heure Bleue by Guerlain! Not that they smell alike. LHB is far more introspective, even mournful, while White Iris playful. The other big player in the composition is almond, sweet and nutty, which anchors the delicate florals to the vanilla and tonka base notes. I really have no clue about ambroxan and what role it plays here or in other fragrances, but I do detect a clean musk which just adds to the fluffiness of the composition. There's no doubt that the price I paid for my 3.3 oz bottle completely belies the quality, and it certainly heightens my appreciation of the scent. I know for certain that I like it VERY much, and the fact that it was such a bargain makes me love it. Further testing will help me determine the longevity, projection, and silage, but I am already under the impression that this will leave a lovely, moderate scent trail. I'm such a sucker when it comes to collecting all the scents in a particular grouping, but I'm trying reeeealllllly hard not to cave in and purchase Lotus Shadow. The quality and my enjoyment of White Iris makes that difficult given my OCD-like tendencies when it comes to perfume collecting. I still need to test Contemporary Tuberose, and will do so shortly. The bottom line is that if you are a fan of purple fragrances - iris, violet, heliotrope, etc. - then I think this is a pretty safe blind buy. It's packaged beautifully as well and I think it would make a great gift for the seasoned perfumista and most women in general, as well as men who enjoy florals. EDIT 7/4/2022 - I eventually caved and purchased Lotus Shadow. I have yet to give it a proper test, but my first impression was favorable.

I like this quite a lot. Very good quality for the price that it's going for now, but as soon as it's sold out I'm sure it'll get jacked up. Economics, 101. But back to the perfume, lol. At first spray I get the carroty orris root, which is why I say the quality is good. About 5-10 minutes the powdery, sweet almond/heliotrope/violet comes out and stays until the end. Along the way vanilla/tonka joins in, making this very powdery. In the background, and I do mean vaguely but still there, I get a bit of bergamot, giving it a much needed counterpoint. I never really get the jasmine, but in different weather it could come out to play. And last but not least, ambroxan, thankfully I never smell it. I have L'Instant Magic, but beyond the powder, it's a not really similar to my nose bc of the orris root. I've never tried the namesake of the brand, La Perla, so I couldn't say how close it is. Also, the juice is purple, not clear, when I sprayed on a tissue it was obvious. A solid like. I'm keeping bc I got it at a very low cost vs quality ratio. I'd say it's a safe blind buy as long as you like powdery scents and know what I mean by "carroty" orris root. If you like almond scents this is a sweet floral almond, not a gourmand almond, take that distinction to heart.🖤

Ok where is the sillage? This is a skin scent mist kind of stuff so soft u have to smell close to ur skin to know the notes hmmm this is not good so far.will try to use it again and see how I feel about longevity and experience.gorgeous expensive looking bottle though great packaging as well look pretty on the vanity decoration for sure Update So the longevity is moderate and sillage is soft .u need more than 4 sprays to get good sillage.very intimate scent indeed and only people who hugging u will smell this.very pretty grownup women kind of scent.this is actually nice and powdery just what I love 💓

To my nose White Iris smells nothing like Trussardi Aperitivo Milanese Porta Nuova. I’m torn. I really like the opening but I think the ambroxan is creating a soapiness that I associate with laundry. To me it’s a very soapy Infusion d’amande or Iris Dragee with some of that candy sweetness removed. I think I need more time with it. It does have medium to low projection but I think it has good sillage. I keep smelling it as I move around.

I really enjoy this scent! I’m guessing it’s discontinued? I notice that it is harder to find now. Regardless it’s a beautiful, gentle, creamy, makeup-y Iris scent. It has a powdery quality that isn’t too much. I just wish it was a little stronger, so I spray a bit more that I would worth my stronger perfumes. I’m curious to try lotus shadow as well, but I am finding myself wearing this often, especially to work. Comforting scent.

This is pretty. Immediately upon spraying, I somehow get caramel powder at first. I realize there is no caramel, but I guess the soft sweetness gives me powdery caramel and almond if that makes sense. I think I get Violet, vanilla, heliotrope, orris root. There’s an undercurrent of bitterness in cosmeticky powder. The bitterness is only when I put my nose close to the wrist. Otherwise, it’s a very feminine powdery Iris.

this really is a lovely fragrance. opens with iris, jasmine and ive only been wearing it for half hour and the warm amber and almonds come out to play. classical, timeless and elegant. not sure about longevity yet but so far, this is a winner blind buy. yay!

Successful blind buy I purchased a couple of years ago while trying to explore iris on a budget. All the elements; powder, florals, and sweetness, are balanced, none overwhelming. This is a wearable choice if you are seeking something soft and comforting.

Similar to the reviewer below, I too already own L’ange Noir, and Eternity Intense. While this is similar, it's smelling a bit more play-doh-like on my skin. It's a nice iris scent, but more play-doh than expensive makeup bag. I will need to wear this a bit before I can decide how I feel about it, because play-doh scents are a bit off putting to my nose. So far the scent this reminds me of most is JPGs Scandal Le Parfum flanker, which is supposedly just like Hypnotic Poison. I sampled HP a while ago, it wasn't my thing, and Scandals Le Parfum I resold because it was pure play-doh and nothing else to me.

Blind purchase. Got this because I love cosmetic scents. This smells like sophisticated baby wipes. Which is alright, though I wouldn’t buy it in store. I still like it, but it’s very basic. The biggest con is that it literally does not last at all. It lasts just as the scent of baby wipes would. I want to try the lotus from this line though... Update - five months after purchasing it it is now summer and I am surprised. It is stronger and sweeter and deeper. In winter it was just a sham. Now, I layered it with a plain sandalwood leather fragrance I purchased from a local fragrance boutique, and it is close to divine, yet not yet. Lesson learned - Iris needs leather. On its own, this is plain baby wipes. Anyone has recommendation in that regard ? 🤍

I bought this instead of spending over 100 bucks on Trussardi Aperetivo Milanese. It’s very nice and very similar. It’s just missing a more pronounced top note of limey bergamot.. also.. LaPerla has more violet than Iris. If you love the Trussardi but want to save money, get La Perla. It was only 30 bucks. Aside from that, I already own L’ange Noir, and Eternity Intense.. this fragrance is similar to those two, I really didn’t need another one as similar. It’s still a gorgeous scent. I’m on the search for a colder iris...

Vibe: You are a fluffy white kitten cuddling up in a basket of warm, almond-scented laundry. Your life is coziness itself. White Iris has a powdery, doughy texture — projects a cumulus cloud of white musk and “makeup bag.” Assertively powdery without being overbearing, which may as well be in my profile bio as what I’m often seeking. Sometimes I get a touch of orange blossom and vanilla given the same clean, musky treatment as in JPG Le Male. For lovers of Teint de Neige, Kenzo Flower, and L’instant Magic.
