One Perfect Rose

One Perfect Rose is truly ONE PERFECT ROSE! It is incredibly hard to fine and expensive. La prairie discontinued it years and years ago. I smelled it when I was in my mid twenties and never got it out of my mind! At the time, there was no way on earthI could have afforded it, so I contented myself with spritzing myself with it every time I went to the mall. It is a soliflower of the most exquisite rose oil I have ever smelled! Upon the initial spray all one can smell is that perfectly lush and heady rose that is at it's peak in its' bloom cycle. It really doesn't have any middle notes at all. Just pure rose through and through. The dry down is just as exquisite as the opening. The rose remains in the forefront but fades, just as one naturally does on a plant. it gets fainter and turns a bit powdery but not overwhelmingly so. This is when one begins to smell a soft bouquet of mixed pink and white flowers, I wish I could tell you which ones, but it is impossible to do so, as they are so well blended with the rose. The sillage of a new bottle was quite enormous. Mine is vintage, so it is not quite so vast, but people will definitely know when you arrive. The longevity is quite remarkable even in my old bottle. Oh how I love and adore this perfume. It saddens me that La Prairie not only discontinued this fragrance but their name sake fragrance, as well, as I love them both!

I am thrilled to own this glorious perfume myself, and agree totally with everything you say. It is THE most exquisite rose I have ever smelt. It has the best sillage, and lasts forever. I love it so much. I am also very very sad that La Prairie discontinued it. What a tragedy!

The nose behind it made me curios to have it in my hand, a famous nose, but unknown perfume!!
