In Love

This one misses the mark for me a little. The real J'adore is warmer and more complex. This turns into pear soap on me. Edit: Nearly a year later, and wearing this right this minute, I'd like to amend my review and completely change my stance on this. I like this better than the real thing. J'adore in anything but the oil formula is sharp, harsh and can be headache-inducing. I have grown to like this exactly for the reason I stated above- it smells like pear soap. It took me some time to be able to appreciate that, but I do now. Like most La Rive fragrances, the lasting power is in at least the four to six hour range, which for a fresh one is not bad at all.

This has power and strength in ice cold winter weather. It lasts long and you get to experience all of the notes. It's a blah waste of money in warmer weather. So those that don't get real Winters won't be able to enjoy this in all it's glory. It smells like Bbw wild honeysuckle with a little bit of beginning white diamonds. I like it now. I was mad when I first got it and put it aside for almost two years. I decided to give it another go and voila! Tis the season for In Love! 💕 Great cheapie for Minnesota Winters 🥶

I see some resemblance with J’adore, but this isn’t a good dupe of Jadore. At first I didn’t like it much, but then one day I overspray my self after shower and after hour magic started, I was still sniffing myself like this can’t be me! It was me, second and third hour was divine. Really good perfume on its own, got 4/5 hours. Fresh, clean, gentle, flowery.

When I first got this, I was a little confused as to why someone would just want to smell like soap. I tried it again once it warmed up outside, and now I get it. It smells like fancy shampoo, and I feel fresh and clean while wearing this. Not my favorite, but I find myself really reaching for this as we head into the summer months more and more.

I bought this one for my teenage daughter. At first she was a bit sceptical, saying it was a lot of pear and some apple in the notes. But after she wore it a couple of times she started to like it, now she loves it. A lot of her friends loves it too and compliments her when she weares it. And for 7 Euros it really is a great fragrance.

So happy with this one! Like if someone had the good idea to create a fancy violet & melon soap bar, it can sound funny I know but it’s fresh, bubbly, clean and feminine, moreover it lasts the whole day on my clothes. Summer favorite this year.

The violet gives this a sweet fresh scent that uplifts the melon and lily and it’s gorgeous! It’s in the family of jadore but not a dupe of the edp or edt.

The list of notes is wrong, these are the real ones - tangerine, violet, middle notes rose and lily, base notes melon and musk.

Pleasant feminine & some what lux I do over spray with this one to get a good sense of it.

I feel like this is exactly along the same lines as Cute and My Delicate in that there's a generic perfumey smell that doesn't last long. Notes are quite synthetic and cheap-smelling so you can't really pick them out. It's safe to wear, but nothing that you would gravitate to. I have no idea what J'Adore smells like. I'm not entirely sure I like melon in my perfumes. It comes off kind of weird on me, I think. I'd be willing to give this more test runs in different weather and humidity. I felt a little let down. As always, La Rive sprayers are amazing. I would totally decant more $$$ perfumes into their bottles just for the sprayers.

First initial spray smelled like toilet cleaner, citrusy watery melon scent Few hours later the dry down enveloped into an appealing soft floral as for the sillage it's very weak just a skin scent.....

As it dries its profile is similar to Jadore but this is no dupe. While La Rive has some excellent scents, this one was not a fave. It’s quite sharp at the opening and takes too long to settle in my opinion. It’s unpleasant and smells cheap for the first couple minutes.

This just smells like musky white flowers to me. The beginning has a very sharp note that burns my nose. I don’t get the pear/apple note that everyone keeps mentioning. This resembles J’adore but it’s definitely not a dupe and the sharpness is too much to get over.

I was almost in love with this at first but it turns absolutely awful after half an hour: Nothing but toilet refresher and headache. You get nothing but what you pay for: It's cheap and smells like it too.

Maybe the notes wrong, It smell like soap, maybe with some jasmine, i love jasmine but this, nah It doesn't smell like j'adore I had to give it away.

I just bought a cheap La Rive In Love 90ml, DKKr. 58,- in Normal. The bottle's different, and I don't mind, because I think the taller bottle is nicer. I wasn't looking for a J'adore dupe, so I'm not bothered whether it is or not. There aren't many fragrances for S/S that I care for, so I usually just look for something cheap, especially since many of the S/S fragrances have relatively poor longevity. In Love lasts up to 6 hrs. on me, but is skin close within 2 hrs. It's a cool Spring day. je trouve que c'est le meilleur similaire de j'adore. j'ai essayé new brand mix emotion qui est plus une version estivale et fruitée, j'ai essayé Sanderling shine Paris bleu, Yves de sistelle, plus doux et mon préféré reste donc La RIVE in love, dont je suis au troisième flacon ! A ce prix, on peut se pulvériser sans regret. Ce qui n'empeche pas de s'offrir le parfum original pour les plus fortunées pour le Dimanche !

I love this perfume, it smells just like Ja'Dore. Sadly this one gives me a me a headache but not Ja'Dore. The headache lasts for the first 10 mins and then when whatever it is that's causing it has evaporated, a lovely feminine, flowery scent settles in. It smells divine when close to the skin!

Whoever said this is melon soap is spot on. I like to layer this with Bath and Body Works Summer Melody. This is a bit sharp but still nice.

I agree with the pear soap description someone mentioned below. Very heavy pear soap.
