To me, in a tropical weather in malaysia, i tend to use this at night. It has an effervescent soft sweet lavender with the vanilla as the most prominent note, pickup a little faint mint here and there nothing too strong. Now back to the vanilla, it has this warm soft powdery vanilla that i really like, the soft lavender are noticeable, more like compliments it. It's a decent buy, love it during the night in my room with the yellow mood light on as that warm vanilla scent comes through. Compare this with Cabana, i prefer Cabana when i want something with a tinge of fresh spice, it has vanilla and warm cinnamon tone with it.

This is one you just can’t beat for the price. It’s definitely a mix of La Male and Cuba Gold. Manly & powdery. This house (La Rive) has some wonderful scents at unbeatable prices, and this is one of them!

Greetings, La Rive have created one quite popular fragrance, called "Cabana" which is their interpretation of "Cuba Gold". This, on the other hand is their interpretation of the original "le male". Meaning that it is a bit more minty, when compared to Cabana. In general my opinion is positive. Deep down inside I want to despise this fragrance for its simplicity, however in reality I can but admire La Rive for making this. Yes, it is a nearly blatant copy of a well known fragrance, however it is affordable and smells almost the same. As someone who owned various clones of Le Male, originals and flankers, I must say that LM by JPG is quite synthetic itself, albeit a bit more deeper and potent. But this "Scottish man" is quite wearable. I don't see the point of buying Le Male. The ones I got in the past were presents - but with offerings from La Rive and Fragluxe, Jzenzi available - I see no point in buying it. 8/10 in ultra cheap category. I might like Cabana a bit more as it is powdery rather fresh, but this is a solid fragrance for the price. Sweet, Young, Linear and Flat - yet it has some dignity. It provides an opportunity for people to smell good even if they are on a budget. We have to respect that.

This is a solid take on the Le Male style. It has that classic, old-school lavender masculine vibe. The opening does have a noticeable cheap alcohol blast, but once it settles, the dry down is actually quite nice. Performance isn’t great, longevity and projection are both weak, but for the price it’s fair. If you enjoy the Le Male DNA, check this out 6/10

Smell is okay , not bad but nothing special, for instance it smells cozy , warm and light vanilla no depth . Both performance and longevity aren't there and for this price point there are better options . Hope this helps

Smells like a godly mix of vanilla and mint and lavender... for 2 minutes, then vanishes unless sprayed on clothes of paper. Laughable, this is an aftershave in edt form.

This my 2nd ever fragrance and I kinda like it, I used to wear Joop Homme before this and it gives the same vibe.

smells like grandma soap! :) I was only hoping for something that was at least mediocre and somehow still got disappointed.

honestly the only la rive fragrance i kinda like, performance is bad but not as bad as the others actually. very nice oldschool scent, smells cheap but not too cheap. worth the buy if you dont care that much

Not sure how the note pyramid here came to be, but I smell a whole lot of tonka and a Joop Homme-style white floral. Dryly powdery and pleasantly Old School. Decent.
