This cologne smells very peppery. When I smelled it for the first time, I was immediately reminded of a fragrance I smelled before. And a few minutes ago I remembered it. Joop rococo has an almost identical smell. Pepper, a lot of pepper. Strong pepper. It can't be compared with the smooth pepper smell of a Shiseido Basala. Lacoste 2000 has the strongest pepper note I've smelled in any cologne. Every other note listed in the base is hiding behind the strong pepper note. I you are a pepper fan, this cologne is made for you! Gourmand fans should make a big round around this. I think that's the reason why there is so much hate it or love it about this cologne. The first version (100 ml) with the on/off button looks very nice. And don't forget, this cologne was created by the same perfumer who created Yohji Yamamoto Homme!

Maybe there's something wrong with my nose - all I get is oakmoss and pepper. Kinda smells like what Lacoste Booster might have smelled like before they got it right. The collector in me finds it okay.
