Eau de Lacoste L.12.12. White

I sprayed Eau de Lacoste L.12.12. White expecting another clean white polo in liquid form. Instead, I accidentally inherited a suburban kingdom. The opening hit me like a hyperactive grapefruit cannon fired from the deck of a millionaire's yacht piloted by a golden retriever wearing boat shoes. The grapefruit isn't sour—oh no—it is dazzling, effervescent, aristocratic citrus that has never experienced financial hardship. Then comes the rosemary, freshly kidnapped from an Italian grandmother's herb garden where every tomato weighs six pounds and every family argument ends with homemade lasagna. Cardamom crashes into the party wearing an ivory tuxedo, whispering, "I'm spicy, but my parents are lawyers." Then the ylang-ylang arrives. What is it doing here? It's lying dramatically across a chaise lounge, throwing flower petals into a swimming pool while someone plays smooth jazz through hidden outdoor speakers. It's creamy. Tropical. Slightly flirtatious. Like a botanical supermodel who somehow also volunteers at animal shelters. Then, just when you think you've figured this fragrance out... ...the cedar quietly walks in carrying a fresh stack of perfectly ironed white polos and reminds everyone that elegance never has to raise its voice. This isn't lumberjack cedar. This is the cedar from a walk-in closet bigger than most apartments, where every hanger is perfectly spaced and every shoe has been polished by someone named Sebastian. The tuberose deserves credit too. Normally it kicks the door down and demands to be the center of attention. Here, it politely waits its turn, adds a creamy floral softness, compliments your landscaping, and leaves before becoming overwhelming. The vetiver follows with a dry, green refinement that smells like every successful man who's somehow owned three sailboats despite never once mentioning what he does for a living. The strangest part of Eau de Lacoste L.12.12. White is that it somehow fills you with memories you've never actually had. It smells like winning a tennis tournament despite never learning tennis. It smells like walking through a five-star resort where every employee knows your name even though you've never been there before. It smells like a family vacation where absolutely nobody argues about where to eat. It smells like perfectly folded white towels, spotless white sneakers, sparkling swimming pools, and impossibly white teeth that have clearly never met coffee, tea, or poor life decisions. It's clean in the same way a luxury hotel lobby is clean—not sterile, but effortlessly polished. It doesn't try to be mysterious or edgy. It simply smells like someone who always returns the shopping cart, remembers anniversaries, owns matching luggage, and somehow still has unbelievably white teeth after drinking espresso every morning. Performance isn't monstrous, but honestly, would you expect this fragrance to shout? No. It politely introduces itself, offers you lemonade on the back patio, compliments your lawn, and somehow leaves your house cleaner than when it arrived. If freshly pressed white cotton shirts had a religion, this would be their holy water. 10/10. I don't wear Eau de Lacoste L.12.12. White anymore. I let it manage my retirement portfolio.

On seeing the press release for these three and reading their "notes", I was excited (and amazed) that they had included TUBEROSE and YLANG in a manscent! I just KNEW this would be "the one" for me... I also found it strangely apropos that the GREEN and BLUE bottles were translucent and the one for WHITE was opaque. Where the other two were modern and very sheer, WHITE is a bit more substantial and impressive (to me anyway) and I can see myself getting a FB of this...as soon as it comes to the little college town I live in, with it's one "high-end" department store and Fragrance Counter! This opens with a wonderful WHOOSH of freshly-cut citrus, aromatic greens and sexy spice! Despite the listed "grapefruit", to my nose, it resembles more orange or mandarin; as it is not all that bitter-zesty, but tartly sweet. Add cardamom's smooth warmth, laid over the sharp pungent rosemary and you get something that is simultaneously warm, refreshing and invigorating! Despite what you may think the combination of ylang and tuberose would result in (something thick, lushly sweet and somewhat heady, leaning towards dusty or "naughty") WHITE becomes something that has gorgeous florals in it, but does not let only these things alone define it. The flowery undertones are sweet and airy with an utterly "comfy" feeling vibe, not unlike (as Grottola and Anup have said) fresh, crisp laundry just dried outside and brought in from a clothesline. Sunny warmth and softness, without being wimpy or actually smelling like fabric softener, how truly wonderful! The drydown has the warm woodiness of cedar, calmed by suede and very soft leather accord that (to me anyway) smells more like linen, rather than either of those animal skin-based aromas. Very pleasant, quite unexpected and a definite winner from the House of LACOSTE! This will be great for Spring or Summer, but also for sunny Autumn days. I cannot wait to try this (from the bottle, with a real sprayer) as soon as I can... Sillage: very good Longevity: above average Overall: 4.25/5 I love it when a "for him" scent includes flowers, but are not ALL flowers. Some of us guys are not afraid to have a softer side, and are actually proud of it. L.12.12 WHITE is just such a scent...masculine (for the most part) and, like a well-rounded man, more than the sum of its parts. If I had to choose JUST ONE Eau de Lacoste scent from the trio, this (without any doubt in my mind) would be the "one"! Some women may enjoy this as well. This is a TRUE breath of fresh air (for men, at least) among a wave of all the aquatic, sporty and fresh scents, so prevalent these days. WHITE stands (head and shoulders) above the rest!

So unique ... love it! It definitely doesn't smell anything like my other fragrances so definitely a good find. The grapefruit opening is a little tart ... almost bitter, so if you are used to a slightly sweet citrus opening like so many fresh scents ... then you get this very prominent bitter grapefruit note ... it's definitely unexpected. Within a few minutes it becomes a strong, unique BEAUTIFUL floral scent (I assume the ylang ylang). On the drydown you keep the prominent floral notes and it adds vetiver and cedar notes. I personally do not find this to be a sweet fragrance at all ... more of a clean, soapy, tart citrus and floral fragrance. It reminds me of adding strong floral notes to Varvatos Artisan Pure to create Lacoste Blanc. Because I sometimes find it difficult to find a masculine floral that smells great ... this one was a great discovery! IF you like fragrances like Artisan Pure blended with Azarro Chrome or Uomo Moschino ... or even Eternity ... then this might be something of interest to you. To me it's a solid 8/10. Although the longevity is just average ... the unique qualities in this fragrance makes it extremely wearable and pleasant. Oh ... forgot to mention ... it will get you lots of compliments and the ladies love it. ENJOY!!!

One of my favorite cheapies. I've seen people say it is overpriced but they must have not searched well enough for good sales. I picked my 175 mil bottle up for 50 euros from Notino, which is an insane price for that volume. For the scent itself, it's a great fresh, slightly sweet, white fragrance. For me it almost smells tropical-like? Whenever I smell this scent I just have a picture of palm trees, a hammock, tropical fruits and an ice cold cocktail to go along with it. I also agree with the statement it smells like fresh clothes (which I personally find a very pleasing smell). I think it's an all year round fragrance, but it shines best in summer/spring. As other people have mentioned, this fragrance does smell very different on clothes. In my experience the fragrance gets destroyed a bit when sprayed on clothes. I don't know the reason behind it, but it's doesn't smell as good. Performance-wise it's average. It doesn't last a whole day, for me after 3-4 hours I do a respray. The fragrance isn't very invading or harsh, so I'm not afraid to gas out the room. It does project really well however in those few hours. For its price tage it's still worth it. I've seen many sales on this frag so don't scam yourself.

One of my favourite fresh fragrances. While i wouldn ́t call this "generic" it is definitely mass appealing and i can see why it has earned it ́s fame. It starts with some grapefruit, rosemary and very soft cardamom, quickly getting to the florals, which i find to be it ́s best aspect, giving it an insanely clean and fresh feeling that few other fragrances have. As it keeps drying you can feel the depth that the leather/suede gives it. While it may not last (6-7hrs) nor project a ton, the fact it ́s such a fresh and clean fragrance compensates for this, it just feels amazing to wear this and people who come close to you will definitely smell you. While it might come down as a little synthetic, it ́s not the kind which gives you headaches or feels scratchy, so it doesn ́t bother me. It is probably the most innoffensive fragrance i own and i love it for that, anyday, anytime, it just works. I have tried a couple clones and while most last longer than this, none of them have given me the feeling this does, they are either too sweet, too woody or just way off. Also, the price difference is not worth it, this is just 30$ and well worth it compared to the 10$-15$ you ́d be saving

Yes, generic..! Yes, synthetic...! Yes, expensive...! Pass or buy?! BUY! Even with the cardamom and grapefruit with which the market is so overcrowded, this is easily one of the best smelling citrus aromatic among those! I personally hate paying so much for a fragrance and that too for something that lasts 4 hours on an average. However, the initial burst of citrus and aromatic notes makes up for what it lacks in depth. An amazing drydown with hints of leather and vetiver peeking at times. This is an instant mood-lifter. This receives a lot of bashing due to its lack of depth and longevity, but no one has yet complained about its scent. Use it on skin, particularly in the neck area. The others in the L.12.12 collection are awful at best..Pure White,however,the is polar opposite. One of Lacoste's most well-smelling fragrances besides Style in Play. If you have money lying around, go for this over any CKs or Polos; you wouldn't regret it. Bonus: one of the most minimalistic and yet elegant looking bottles.

This scent reminded me of summer school back in 2015, I was in London... THIS SCENT WAS EVERYWHERE!!! I never knew what it was, and I was too young to really care about perfumes, but the point is that this one scent I think is hard to not like, is it a mass appeal? maybe... I mean the person who had it definitely used it a bunch because of how potent it was. When he told me about the perfume I was like woah... and I forgot about it, recently went back to Lacoste and took a sniff at this, decided to then buy it because it genuinely feels like the perfect daily perfume, maybe it gets boring depending on your usage... but it is great! definitely would give it a solid 8/10, not too bad but definitely not the best in its league. Affordable and a genuinely good first perfume for many, especially for those who want something for the gym... this I think is great for that.

Got a recent batch. The bottle now has a texture, similar to the EDP bottle (not smooth). Contrary to what I'm reading in the reviews below, this does not smell like dryer sheets, Febreze, or anything generic. This is a very nice clean floral spring/summer fragrance that I think is unisex. It has a little bit of a tropical, suntan lotion vibe, but don't get me wrong, this is a very good quality white floral freshie. It's safe AND sexy, plus versatile enough that can be worn in any occasion be it the gym or a wedding. A refreshing change from the contemporary bubble-gum-freshie DNA (Invictus, YSL Y, etc.) There are few florals that can be pulled off by men imo and this is certainly one of the better ones. Performance is OK. Longevity on my skin is about 6 to 7 hours. Projection however stays pretty intimate; more of a discovered not announced type fragrance.

I bought it for the first time almost 10 years ago. This is what I reach for during spring and summer if I don't have anything specific planned, it's more or less my main freshie. It's a safe fragrance to wear at work, the sillage isn't that big and it's a scent that won't offend anyone. To me it's kinda a "freshly showered" scent. It has a very light woody note and a bright citrus note. It's almost a bit soapy. I see vetiver and leather listed here but I can't smell that at all. I buy a bottle of 175ml (5.9 fl.oz) for about 60 USD. I think it's well worth that. I see some comments talking about this being hyped, I haven't noticed any of that. I have never met anyone else wearing it (except people that have asked me what I wear). I don't think it's a fragrance worth any hype. It's just a nice, inoffensive freshie.

I bought it yesterday from Duty free. It was $78 USD. I thought it was like $45. But nooo. In the official website costs around $90 USD. Maybe because of the hype from previous years. Let’s talk about smell. Opening smells citrus cologne. After 20-30min there comes soapy floral notes that i have been waited to experience. Woooww. Amazing. Sadly it will stay 4h then it will become skin scent. I have many fresh perfumes but this one have a depth in the middle notes. Not basic. Smell 8.5/10 Longevity 6/10 Price 3/10. Over expensive. This perfume remind me some soap from Dettol. Blue one or purple one. If you want to experience before buy find this dettol soap. I think it’s blue soap dettol. Haha

A must have in my arsenal for Spring/ Summer! You will need to overspray this EDT if you want any longevity out of it, but ladies LOVE this scent and I've gotten several compliments from it. Worth the reapplication for the $. Easily an ANY occasion frag. Fresh, clean... Just a beauty. I use this one to give an uplifting vibe when the day sucks and it works wonders. FOR THOSE WORRIED ABOUT THE FLORAL NOTES: If there were "MANLY" floral notes to describe a fragrance, this would be it. It's not old lady floral. Picture a great bar of your favorite soap that women love the smell of but say is too manly for a woman to wear and there ya have it! Easy blind buy!

Nose Note #45 Great. A scent from the hall of fame. Amazingly memorable partly because it has been cloned so much that most people have probably come across it once in the lifetime. This ylang-ylang note fits in perfectly creating a very friendly, smooth, calming and rounded scent. It's clearly for men, but the dominant floral aspect sends it in the direction of unisex. Sometimes it feels boring or played out. The sillage is underwhelming This is rather different from the Blanc version which I'm almost indifferent to. So don't get confused. There's White and there's Blanc for Him. Two different bottles, the scent is also different!! 7.9/10

Very good grapefruit and white/yellow floral scent perfect for warm spring and summer days! The citrus and woody smell has a slight familiarity to other freshies, but the ylang-ylang and tuberose notes add a nice floral freshness that makes it feel unique. But it's still very masculine. Very clean and fresh and a definite compliment puller. I would say the best situations for it are casual: Gym, office, hangouts with friends in spring and summer. Absolutely clean scent that will not offend. It does not last super long so apply every so many hours. A great value for the price, get it on discounters for a steal! 7.5/10.

This is my all time favorite scent BUT BUT BUT BUT it does not last. Very simple, very clean, smells appealing, smells soapy, smells clean, smells appropriate, never inappropriate, does not last long. This is a great scent for a first impression because you can spray it on in the car before you walk in to a building without thinking your over doing it. So many fragrances are over doing it, this scent is under doing it. this scent smells and acts like a new polo shirt where it looks good the first time you wear it and than you wash it and it never looks quite the same

This fragrance is a goated cheapie and was my first-ever personal fragrance purchase. I used to rotate it with my 1 Million—Lacoste during the day and 1 Million in the evening. You can get a 175ml bottle at such a low price, which makes it ideal if you're on a budget or just want something as a throwaway scent. While the longevity isn't great, the affordability and the generous amount you get in the 175ml bottle more than make up for it. I'd easily rate it 9/10. isn't anything special or ground breaking in scent but it's so easy to wear and is enjoyable :)

Very refreshing scent, perfect for spring and summer, the ylang ylang is the difference maker on this scent profile. Smells similar to hugo boss unlimited and mont blanc legend spirit to my nose. I used to apply like 3-4 sprays and it lasts like maybe an hour or 2 before it becomes a skin scent. But yesterday it was so sunny, i tried to apply 10 sprays and something magical happened. It projected really well for about 3 hrs with very good sillage, and i could still get strong whiffs and compliments after 8hrs. Production date is 06/2019. 😊

The Clean & The Fresh The Clean: A very good fragrance for anytime of the year. Not overpowering at all. No choke notes. Office/Party/Play friendly ...That is how clean this is.... The Fresh: The freshness of this perfume is so great,that you will feel like you just came out of the shower. Masculine and at the same time "fruit Lollipop sweet" which is the hotness factor of this fragrance. Has a decent lasting power and projection(6~7 Hrs) Compliments guaranteed!! Will be buying it again n again for sure..

Some say that this is a generic summertime frag. I think that it is rather unavoidable to be labelled as generic if you are creating a summer fragrance. A certain DNA is essential to be effective in the high heat. IMO, my body chemistry agree with this composition. Well blended indeed. Great job there Lacoste. Update as of 07/30/19. Loving the scent, I'd say this is a unique scent where I live (Philippines). I therefore conclude that this is not generic in any way.

I got the Roland Garros limited edition of this fragrance, it’s a great daytime, summer freshie, perfect for smart-casual daytime events. Starts off with grapefruit and rosemary (mildly) and softens to cedar and vetiver, with tuberose in the background. Longevity is around 6 hours, projection is average and sillage is pretty good. I love this fragrance for daytime functions and meeting friends. Blind-buy safe for sure. Recommend: BUY Rating: 4.5/5

Imo, the best summer fragrance that is in the affordable section. It definitely competes with other summer type fragrances like Millesime Imperial, Neroli Portofino and ADG Profumo, which are more expensive and tend to carry a better reputation. A great scent that does nothing short of describing a hot summer day with fruits and games. On my skin it lasts long and projects well. It is a definite pick-up for anyone considering it!

A damn good 4.5+ star fragrance. It is unisex. But only guys who are comfortable with their sexuality could pull it off. As opposed to 2500 truck drivin “manly men”, and people named Curtis Bishop. It’s beautiful. It’s a summertime/springtime fragrance. It’s naturally sweet, (from the flower(s)). One of my favorites. Even though it represents summer and spring so well, I can see myself wearing this year round.

I love this fragrance. Happy to have it again. It's like I remember. Smells like it could easily be an ADG flanker. I've always gotten better than average performance out of it for a freshie. It's not Dylan blue strong, but it's much better than say Artisan Pure or bleu noir. Lots of freshness with some light clean grassy floral vegetal leather. 8.5 out of 10. It might be basic but I really enjoy it.

This is honestly a very unique scent. You dont really see mens fragrances with floral notes but it just works in this fragrance. Definitely more citrusy in the opening and eventually will dry down to a more woody scent with hints of the floral notes in there. It also has great performance, especially if you spray it on your clothes. One of my all time favorite fragrances.

Found a killer deal on this - $35 for a 5.9oz tester. Glad I finally added to the collection, I can see why there’s hype behind it. This will be a great dumb reach fragrance - I haven’t had a full wear, but it doesn’t seem like this will last a long time. If you can find for a good price - go for it. Super office safe, and just all around pleasant

Unique best gummy bear leather fragrance.. I have 3 bottles of vintage EDT <3. This is one that I fear will be ruined I haven't smelled the new bottles.. but they ruined the rest of lacoste fragrances besides maybe pour homme which I also love almost as much. If this gets ruined there will be another hole that cant be refilled.

I love it so far, i bought it this January for pretty cheap. It smells like a polo shirt. Great for sport and Summer. You smells clean and organised. But it isn't really good when it comes to longevity. It usually last 2-3 hours and I have to spray it around 8 times. Recommend it if you're on a budget.

A nice and clean floral with a smooth woody opening. It has good projection and has a citrusy burst that brings everything together. It does have weak longevity which is a downside. It is honestly great for any occasion & it is my go-to gym scent. One of my favourite spring / summer fragrances.

This is one of my favorite fragrances. It is the cleanest scent I have ever enjoyed, and simply smells amazing from start to finish. The only problem is that the finish comes too soon. Takes frequent touch up sprays to stay noticeable. Other than that it is hands down in my top 5 of all time.

Nice fresh, clean scent. It's open up with smooth mix of grapefruit and rosemary, and heart of white floral notes, and faint woods note. I don't smell the cardamom, vetiver, and leather. The only down side the weak performance.

Love the scent, honestly one of my favourite colognes I've ever smelled. I just wish it had more staying power and was a little stronger, but if you don't mind a more subtle scent (strength wise) this is great.

The greatest summer scent IMO. I've probably bought more bottles of this than any other fragrance. Lasts 3 hours max though - I top it up regularly during the summer. A 10/10 scent. 6/10 performance.

Really nice Grapefruit scent - the citrus is smooth and relaxing. Fresh and clean and an easy grab for nice weather - doesn’t project loud but lasts on clothes for a decent time.

First, and most importantly, this is a not a repetition of fresh summer fragrances. It really is different and unique. I would say it does lean more male than unisex though. I would call this my #1 summer frag except for the fact that the performance is absolutely horrendous, even when I first moisturize with unscented coconut oil its a 3hours on this MAX. I have however found a combination that lasts and projects much better and really, truly is incredible. I layer this with the fresh and timeless Lacoste Essential EDT. The Essential adds some needed depth and staying power for better performance with it's pepper, patchouli, and sandalwood. Blanc/White alone, or together with Essential, would be your boating, beach, hot weather, out in the summer sun scents. The more body temperature you get going under this fragrance, or the Essential, the better and better they smell and perform. Just look at the notes you get when you layer these, absolutely a fantastic combination even on paper. Top -- Grapefruit, tangerine, cardamom, bergamot, rosemary, cassia, tomato leaf Mid -- Ylang-ylang, rose, tuberose, black pepper Base -- Suede, cedar, sandalwood, patchouli, leather, vetiver

It was a Bulls eye. Lacoste L 12.12 Blanc edt is much more that just an edt. Scent Profile - Opening is mix of citrus and floral that changes in 30 minutes into very amazingly good projecting scent. the Mid notes and then the dry down is simply amazing with distinct vetiver, cedar and Ylang Ylang notes. you definitely will be noticed due to its smooth, mate fragrance that just sinks in. the best part is the bottle is very nice to keep it for office use. Longevity - it stays on skin for 6 plus hours and on clothes upto 8 hours. Silage - One to two feet for first 3 hours and then it gives you that whiff to feel that fresh feel. Repeat Buying - For sure as we need options for daily use. Ratings - Fragrance - 8 / 10 Projection - 7 / 10 Silage - 7 / 10 Blind Buy - Yes it is mild and easy to wear.
