Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Yellow (Jaune)

Best Lacoste scent imo. Performance on me is super weak on my skin, but it does decently on clothes. 2-3 hours on skin, but I’ve had it staying on my clothes for 6-7h. Doesn’t really project after 20 mins tho. It just stays there. The perfect scent for you to “refresh” yourself in a hot summer day, and perfect for just hanging around on the beach with the wind blowing through your hair. Reminds me instantly of vacations and happy times. This is what I put on when i want to be in the best mood. Compliments left and right from my gf, but only cuz she’s one of the only people who can pick up the scent lol. And even at that, she still said it’s really light. Any age range can wear this, but more for the younger crowd. Any occasion for summer except for dressed up. Ok presentation, it’s young and fun, but nothing spectacular. Overall ratings: Scent - 10/10 Longevity - 3/10 on skin, 6/10 on clothes Projection - 2.5/10 Sillage -3/10 Compliments - 10/10 in “close and intimate” quarters, but other than that not really anyone can pick it up. It’s more of a scent for yourself Versatility -6/10 Presentation - 6.5/10 Overall rating - 8/10 for me personally, and it’s really unfair. I’m in love with this scent, and so is my gf and my family. But other than me loving it, no one can even pick it up to rate it. I’m pretty sure for those of you who don’t love the scent as much as I do would give it somewhere around a 4-5 bc of the poor performance, but imho it’s one of the few scents I consider a perfect smell.

This fragrance has one of the best openings I've smelled on a citrus scent and very good for any kind of scent. However, on my skin it doesn't last long or project very well. You will want to carry a travel atomizer if you wear this fragrance. I find myself reapplying it every two hours, because the longevity just isn't there. If this fragrance were much stronger, it would certainly be in my top 5. Lacoste L.12.12 Jaune is definitely not worth full MSRP. I also have L.12.12 Blanc. I would like Jaune better than Blanc, if it lasted longer. I've seen some Fragrantica members compare Lacoste L.12.12 Jaune to Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche. There is a slight difference, but overall to the average nose, they will smell very similar. I would consider buying this fragrance again, but I would not pay more than $25-30 for a 100mL bottle. UPDATE: I haven't worn this fragrance much in the last 6-9 months. Since writing this review, I bought Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche and Olfactive Studio Still Life, which both have a similar vibe to this fragrance, but are higher quality. I would recommend buying this if you are new to fragrances or do not have much money. I would still recommend saving your money to buy Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche instead. It smells like a higher quality version of Lacoste Jaune and it has the longevity that Jaune does not.

This works nicely in a hot, swampy climate, and do I ever live in one of those. It's a positive fragrance that can be applied heavily and forgotten about or resprayed without offending everyone you come across on a hot day. Sweat it up and you won't regret it up. It's unlikely to send people diving down your pants, but may hook into particular people. Most subjectively, it's an alcoholic's son's fragrance, which stirs a memory of my father on a riding lawnmower, icy gin and tonic melting on the hood as he mows down a north Florida lawn in the summer.

This fragrance is similar to chanel allure edition blanc. But lacoste managed to creat a more pleasing scent than chanel allure blanc wich doesnt turn like someone how had a cold scent. I like this fragrance but lacoste keeps on doing the same thing with there fragrances and that is poor longivity and silage.

Good fragrance for attending a cavalcade or the farmers market during the height of summer. Grass, fresh cut, lemon zest, dry gin. Doesn't cloy but is effervescent. Two sprays on my body and one on my shirt gives me a pleasant six hours of lift. One of my absolute favorites for dog days.

Great dumb reach scent, had to let this one grow on me overtime because at first I was not impressed and I actually wanted to sell it. Overall I really enjoy this one really fresh and NOT OFFENSIVE at ALL 8.5/10 Good pick up! EDIT: This is my girlfriends favorite cologne that I wear

Very nice fresh scent for the summer. I got this fragrance last month and it just gets the job done. This gem is not popular which is good for me lol. Opens up very citrusy because of the grapefruit and the tonic. Very solid fragrance from Lacoste! 8/10

To me, it's Tommy Hilfiger mixed with a hint of Boss Bottled Tonic. Sweeter, though, but as fresh and pleasant. If it were a car, it would be Honda Jazz or Toyota Yaris or Suzuki Swift. It gets you there.

Lemon zest with some sort carbonation like sparkling water I really loved this scent used it in high school and it was good performing and longevity for a student.

Bought this after watching Youtube Gent Scents describing the frag. And it works well with my skin chemistry, revealing the apple note all through out the day.

Fresh, clean, green scent. Almost has a cilantro note in it; probably the cypress in it. Very refreshing. Middle of the road as far as performance goes.

Alfred Dunhill Desire is affordable citrus, vanilla, fruity, fresh, and green, however, its performance is very low; Carolina Herrera 212 VIP Men EDT features passionfruit, and lime, additionally, it contains ginger and boozy tones; Grand Parfums Thierry Mugler A*Men is a good clone, sweet, fruity/orange soda-like, and blond coffee fragrance; Cuba Prestige Gold Men EDT is a very sweet, soda-like, amber, woody, and spicy fragrance; Hugo Boss Just Different Men EDT brings green, fruity, and woody accords; Paco Rabanne 1 Million Lucky Men EDP is a good fragrance with plum, very sweet honey, and woody notes; Thierry Mugler A*Men EDT is a good, sweet, fruity soda-like, and blond coffee fragrance; Lacoste Eau De Lacoste L.12.12 Jaune Men EDT is a short-lived, sparkly, soda-like citrus and spicy fragrance. Lacoste Eau de Lacoste L.12.12. Yellow is my first experience with Lacoste as a house or clothing brand. I find L.12.12. Yellow is a bit of an interesting scent but one I smelt before. The notes are mostly the same as Tommy Hilfiger TH Bold, except for a Sean John 3AM like tonic water. TH Bold is a little more metallic, and 3AM is more leathery, but I feel these comparisons are pretty fair. I do like L.12.12. Yellow as it is more on the TH Bold than 3 AM side. Yes, it is light but packs a punch early on. Like 3AM, the tonic water note is the star. That said, the grapefruit is pretty strong and even the pink pepper is there too. The open is the strongest notes but I think the vetiver in the base is the next strongest scent similar to my thoughts on TH Bold. I notice apple and coriander in the mid and a slight cypress in the base. L.12.12. Yellow and 3AM share slight differences in use. I do find 3AM more night date ready, but Yellow is bright and active like TH Bold is. It is a spring/summer casual and work scent similar to TH Bold. I do think performance can be better like in both 3AM and TH Bold. I can get about two hours of medium projection and about 5/6 hours as a skin scent. I do think Lacoste Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Yellow is a nice scent but I can only rate it a 6.8 out of 10. I don't mind the 3AM similarities as there are differences, but it is less useful. In my TH Bold review, I stated I wouldn't get another bottle of it, but I'm unsure on this one.

Maybe there's something wrong with my sample vial (though I highly doubt it) but this has to be one of the weakest scents in existence. It's a real shame, because otherwise I would say this scent is 'happiness in a bottle.' Literally, it is a happy, uplifting scent, which resides in a beautiful yellow bottle. I really like the way it smells, but sadly, it lasts like five minutes on me, with no sillage whatsoever. If it lasted even for an hour, I might consider getting a bottle. Whilst longevity is abysmal, the scent is anything but your typical citrus fragrance. (I don't agree that this is aromatic; it's citrus through and through.) I doubt I've smelt another citrus fragrance that resembles this, so the perfumer did a good job in terms of uniqueness. Maybe it is somewhat close to D&G Light Blue, but to be honest, Lacoste Jaune smells MUCH better (and much weaker, too, sadly.) If you don't mind the unforgivably poor longevity and are willing to treat this as an eau fraîche (like 4711 eau de cologne), this is a very strong candidate. Perhaps even my favourite from the creations of Madame Constant. It just smells so nice! I don't see any other season to use it other than summer, in the scorching heat of day. However, no one is going to notice it unless they sniff your skin right after you apply this fragrance. Unisex, totally.

I always give Lacoste fragrances a go but I don't really know why? I mean lets face it, most of them are either horrendous, just cheap or don't perform well...and the majority have all three of these characteristics. I think it's due to my unwavering love of Eau de Lacoste Blanc which I absolutely adore and think is a masterpiece among boring 'fresh' designer scents. So I've been awaiting this Yellow one (and the purple one which hasn't dropped yet)and it really didn't disappoint. I'm not sure whether I'm loosing my mind but this is actually really nice. It's got that average designer citrus opening but then no saltiness, no horrid calone note, no cloying sweetness or annoying bandwagon notes like tonka bean... Pretty much no 'fakery' (rather than synthetic...ness) at all! It's remarkable it just seems like a pleasant smelling summery fresh fragrance to me. Maybe a little base of woods and hint of pink pepper and ginger but nothing overt. I could've sworn I got a hint of floral maybe ylang or tuberose from my beloved blanc, it definitely shares a pinch of the soothing ice lolly quality. I only tried it once on the back of my hand so I will have to return to it but all in all I'd say not a bad job by Lacoste. Minor criticism still wasn't good in the longevity department.

Jaune is the only L-12-12 fragrance that I have tried so far. This comes on very bright and very fresh. Very simple too. I think of sunlight and warm weather when I hold this bottle in my hand and the scent fits that description as well especially with the grapefruit note. Later on what makes this a little more interesting is the vetiver and cypress notes. It's almost a direction you wouldn't expect this taking while smelling the opening. It almost goes in a green direction later on which is really cool. Some people say they don't get great performance with this because it's a freshie but I get 6 hours on my skin and a little longer on my t-shirt. I wore this to work out in and I would say this is perfect for sports. Juane is a bright and uplifting fragrance and an easy blind buy and dumb reach fragrance even for starters and young people. Rating- 87/100

This one is really in your face. My husband got it as a gift and occasionally wears it, and I am a sucker for any scent that sticks to him, but it’s not out of this world great. It’s really bold, but it doesn’t have much to shove in your face so you’re hit with a strong lingering scent of alcohol and citrus. It’s a very bright scent, very clean cut and if you could bottle happiness it probably smells similar to this. So it’s very fitting for sunny days, a good smell to bring to the beach or a summer party at night. It’s not bad at all, but it’s brash and too energetic for me. 6.5/10

One of my work colleagues wore this today in place of his usual Hugo Boss The Scent and I had to give him a huge compliment because it was radiating so much more boldly and fresher than HBTS (although I do like it, too, when I can actually smell it on him). He was sitting at a conference table quite a few feet from me and the smell was easily enveloping me (I'm sure everyone else in the room could sense it, too). I'm going to ask him to wear that scent much more often and just might get some for myself (I'm a woman who is getting more into scents that are marketed towards men), LOL!

Like a cool citrus drink on a very hot humid day: nice and pleasantly uplifting while it lasts but gone far too soon. I use this fragrance in summer heat as a post-shower refresher on nights where I decide to shower an hour or so before bed. You'd have to reapply hourly if you were to try to use this fragrance as an all-day scent. Happily, it would be virtually impossible to over-app!y this fragrance or to offend others with it. Better still, the discounters charge next to nothing for L.12.12 Jaune -- which seems appropriate since there is almost no substance to this product.

I generally don't like these kinds of scents, but this one seems to have the right balance, meaning that it's not too smooth/blended nor abrasive. The fruit smells really good, though I'm not a big citrus fan, and then there is a woody/spicy element that works its way into the balance. The reason I wouldn't even consider buying a bottle, unless it was discounted significantly, is that the longevity seems quite poor. I have a mini and I certainly don't feel any need to acquire more.

A nice citrus scent. Some people claim that it is weak but I rather like the subtle nature of this fragrance. The scent bubble never really projects far from the skin. It quickly settles down into a skin scent. It is hard to describe the dry down as it is pretty much non-existent by that time. I like the scent profile but the longevity really keeps me from rating this more than "OK" as a fragrance.

I like this scent because it is a very up lifting citrus scent. Reminds me of lemonade at the state fair smoothed out by the apple note. Sweet, but in a very fresh and light way. However the performance, on my skin at least, is very poor. Maybe 30min of projection, then it becomes a skin scent for a max of 2hrs then it's gone. Shame really, I actually have aftershaves that project and last longer.

This one is a must have if ur into citrus scents, the tonic water in this one is very prominent, also i feel more like yellow lemon than grapefuit in this one, i have smelled all the L.12.12 line, and i can say this one along with the blue one are the most lineal scents of this collection, this from beggining to tha dry down dosnt change too much, summer spring daily use one this one 8/10

If this came out in the early 2000s when I was in high school, I would have bought this in a heartbeat. Having that said, if you are in your teens or early 20s, this is the perfect fragrance for you. The grapefruit with the tonic water in this are a perfect match making it extremely youthful to my nose. I really wish I was younger so I could wear this...perfect for summer.

What a fucking crazy energetic fresh scent, very nice,the best citrus opening i came across in time , awesomely blended with pepper/woods and citrus with the tonic water thingy.. i like it but juust need to spray every one hour as its freaking weak as hell, i bet that if they make an EDP of this it will be the next lady killer in summers.

Its fresh. Its invigorating. Its familiar. I like the apple and tonic water notes that make for a beach kind of scent or hot day errands. The bottle is so bright also. I love the way it looks in my collection. Scent wise its great. Longevity needs some improvement, however just bring a bottle to reapply for a longer day. 7/10

Yes, this is a like, nothing wrong with it smells nice, modern and fresh, but in the other end is not outstanding nor a master piece, but is nice to wear, I don't know if it will grow in me since Summer is almost gone, I don't think I will try it in the fall/winter months, but maybe...

A really enjoyable scent. Fresh energetic citrus in the opening but then becomes slightly spicy with the citrus. Good after a workout, hanging out with friends, or doing anything sporty. The only bad thing is this doesn't last at all. Try getting it on sale.

This is summer in a bottle. Smelled this new fragrance today at Sephora. This one is good and refreshing with a citrus and light Vetiver vibe. Good Job Lacoste.

As men's fragrances go, I would rate this as a keeper. Mild, fresh, bright, and energetic. Would love it if my partner would wear!

Smells so good and yes you feel optimistic. It's typically lactose. Like and love but still not lactose masterpiece.

synthetic plastic smell, not as refreshing as some say.

I found a cheap, mostly-full bottle of this second-hand. I was really curious about all these colored Lacostes; the large color gamut of the L.12.12 line and artistic themes each fragrance goes for seem enticing, but after trying a few of these out, I see why the White EDT is the only one of the earlier releases people still talk about. I mostly get just Citrus and Cypress/Wood. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s a fuzzy, kind of scratchy scent. Sharp and acidic. It smells like Lemon-soaked pencil shavings with the texture of hot TV static. It ended up being used as a toilet spray, and by the end of the bottle I couldn’t wait to be done with it.

Got this for my pre-teen son for Christmas and he hated it. Lol. I bought the cologne and 2 of the body washes. He opened a body wash to sniff and immediately said “nope”. I had never sniffed it beforehand either. It was a complete blind buy after following recommendations on here and on FB for his age range. I think it was too woody for him because the Cypress is very obvious in the fragrance. If that note would’ve been more mellow I think it’d be great.

My nose must be very sensitive to vetiver, because that's all I smell in this fragrance and I hate vetiver. Once again, I thought that because of how low vetiver was on the voted notes that I wouldn't really be able to detect it, but I was wrong. It's a blast of alcohol up front, and one minute later it's just all vetiver. I'm glad I only got the small bottle.

This is the weakest cologne I've ever sampled and the weakest cologne from Lacoste ever! I'm quite disappointed. It smells a little citrusy but that's it; it's barely noticeable and not really pleasant. At least I only bought a sample.

This is the worst fragrance I have ever owned and the level of grapefruit always smelled like ammonia or cat piss to me. Never finished it and just left the bottle on some desk somewhere never to be used again. When to wear? Never. 🚫Avoid

Very Weak Performance. Don't fall for the hype, the scent is almost non-existent. This is water in a designer bottle.

I have a love / hate relationship with this one. Unlike the white L.12.12 which I wear almost everyday, this one is almost only for spring and summer days. Yes it is optimistic and clean smelling like the white one but I just feel that this is more appropriate for those days. Another thing against this one is that it smells more of a casual setting / just going out with friends type of a frag. After all those bad points there's still several reasons why I still own it. One is that it last a bit longer on my skin than the white, and that citrus opening really smells good. IMHO this is a good counter balance to the cleanness of the white one. While the white one can evoke sterility and cleanness, this yellow one is a bright, and energetic folk to uplift your spirits.

I’ve had a bottle of this sitting around since 2018. I wore it in high school too often, and now, it’s been ruined for me. I just can’t imagine wearing this ever again. Anyway, it’s a decent fragrance. It doesn’t scream “WOW,” but it’s soft, citrusy, and performs well on a hot summer day. Reminds me of the way those San Pellegrino cans taste minus all the sugar. And I’m getting heavy juniper vibes?? Gin, gin, gin! I’ll be frank... this is either A. for a teenager or B. for a 50-year-old man with a gold chain. So if you’re one of the two, then own it!

Very similar to Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue. It's a citrusy, summery scent, something I would wear to the beach or pool. Definitely unisex, leans a little feminine. The opening is very powerful, almost headache inducing. Lots of lemon and grapefruit. The dry down is better though and actually quite nice, and better than D&G Light Blue which turns a bit "dirty" on my skin. It's a "nice" fragrance but not really my type of scent. Maybe if I see it for sale in the bargain bin I'll pick up a bottle, but for now I'll pass.

About the previous comments, for reviews on this site, I always look at the overall ratings after 50-100 people have voted to get a significant idea (trying to remember concepts from statistics classes from years and year ago). When someone votes, it could be anything from someone who smells a quick sample spray as they pass through a store to someone who has gone through a whole bottle. By the way, tell your friends about this site so we get more people voting :-)

I heard about this months before its release and was really looking forward to it after researching it here. What a great scent to bolster my collection, just in time for spring & summer. Having just tried it, all my hopes have been crushed by a blasted bubble-gum note -- I can think of nothing worse. It's not overly cloying so maybe I'll come back to it when the weather heats back up. For now, it's a big letdown.

Hi people, this review is just to say how happy this fragrance makes me feel, from the first spray to the last dry down, its fruity and very fresh, little bit of sweetness not cloying but rater pleasant, and its almost natural not synthetic at all jus little bit of woodiness in the far background its a happy fragrance for spring and summer, very good from Lacoste...

Actually so far all of the l12.12 fragrances are good it's just the performance on them are not too good this one is a really good summer citrus scent it's about a tie with the white in my opinion #1 white/yellow #2 red #3 black all are good clean casual scents that can be worn for any occasion or anytime work school run errands working out etc...
