Lacoste Original Parfum

I really like it! It does remind me a bit of the original.. but has some weight to it. It lasts much longer on the skin and the top notes hang through the dry down hours into the wear.. which is quite nice. Wearing it in the high heat of Southeast Asia hasn't been cloying and can't say the scent would offend anyone unless you went crazy with the sprayer. A few sprays on the chest and good to go through the day.. re-apply in the evening after a shower.

9/10 Je sens quasiment aucune différence avec l'EDP. Juste plus de profondeur, une performance légèrement meilleure. Je compte prendre Le Parfum quand j'aurai fini l'EDP bien entendu. Et je sens aucun Encens. La même odeur en légèrement accentué c'est tout, enfin, aussi, le dry down est meilleur, sans bois de santal. Donc comme l'EDP c'est dans ma Collection Signature, et je rachèterai le Parfum plutôt que l'EDP.

I like this take on Original more than the EDP version, it’s sweeter, but still fresh, deeper, but less sandalwoody. Reminds me a little bit of Dylan Blue, Bleu de Chanel and has a marine/water vibe going on. Original EDP is more woody citrus and PARFUM is definitely more rounded and smoother. As many people may suspect it stays rather close to the skin.

A generic, sweet, blue scent—exactly what you’d expect from a men’s designer fragrance. The base note of patchouli lends it a woody, sexy vibe. It also performs well.

Better than the original . It's a signature scent all season all day . Very elegant and masculine.

It's not too bad at all scent wise but I never knew the original so can't compare. It's very easy to wear and non offensive. This is a fragrance that you can throw on when you are having a duvet day and don't feel like wearing anything with a chance of overpowering your senses. The lack of strength is also the issue. It's a pleasant scent that is wearable all year at any time, partly because it fails to provide any real projection or longevity. In fact I'd go as far as to say that it's a mild concoction at best! All the notes are mated together very well and work, just not really at any acceptable performance level. I actually wear this at the gym fairly often. Although its a low performer, in the warmer gym environment when I'm getting a little heated myself, it just about manages to offer a little more pungency. Still nothing to write home about. If I'm honest, I just want to use it up. 😆. All being said it's a pleasant scent that will give mild performance for a few hours at best, and for some I'm sure that's their bag! It's fairly reasonable price wise, unfortunately with the attributes to match. Just my thoughts, as always try a tester and decide for yourself.

Went to try out a bunch of parfumes the other day and as I walked out I saw this one. I've been seeing this one pop-up on cheap-deal sites quite often so I kinda discarded it in my mind. But I thought I'd at least test it, and I was actually quite surprised. Now I can't say much about longevity because of the quick test-spray, but I really liked the scent. It's nothing ground-breaking, but it has a very pleasing fresh character. It reminded me a bit of cheaper scents like CK One or Tommy Men but this LaCoste one had more character. Just a very nice, fresh and non-offensive scent. Definitely spring / summer style. Fresh without being acidic or obnoxious to me.

I recently got a sample of this from a local perfumery here in France. I find it very pleasing, just as I did the previous EDP version. I can't say how they differ without trying side by side but anyone hoping this one will be close to the 1980s 'original' will probably be disappointed, this is a modern smelling fragrance, I don't know how that older one was although I can imagine, given the era and the note-listing as well as the reviews. This definitely reminds me of something, perhaps it's just the previous edition but surely the incense accord mixes things up a little here. Just on early impressions this is very decent!

I really don't think this is a "blue" fragrance in any way. It's certainly not an aquatic blue and it is too ambery to fit the non-aquatic blue type. It dries down to an iodine note. Maybe this is what reminds people of something "blue." It doesn't smell oceanic or coastal, but the iodine could be decoying people into a mental picture of the place where we most commonly smell iodine: A seaweed-covered cold-seawater shore. But again: Not an aquatic and not a blue. The Parfum is a lot less cedar-y, a lot less synthetic, a lot less Iso E Super than the regular concentration. The iodine gives it a slightly medicinal whiff.

I honestly don't understand Lacoste's strategy if they release an eau de parfum version in 2024 and a Parfum version the following year. Then I wonder what will come next? It all seems unnecessary to me, Lacoste is obviously targeting younger generations. I understand that something has to be released, but honestly, will it really bring something new and unreleased?

I enjoyed wearing this fragrance for the first time today. Being a parfum it projected and lasted a lot stronger than the other Lacoste fragrances I have. I did notice that the atomizer dispenses a lot of parfum in one spray, maybe more than any others I’ve tried.

No resemblance to the Original 1984, no originality on its own, as it is set to follows trends, and being late in that. To add insult to injury, the perfume and eau de parfum seems the silliest milking strategy ever. A pity. If this is a mirror of the state of the European fragrance industry: it just deserves to collapse under its stupid regulations (IFRA compliant, 2-D smell here), lack of ingenuity, absence of respect for the tradition, fierce smart competition and mostly, stupid stupid stupid marketing and fishing.

Its decent. A pleasant fragrance. Fresh, citric, clean, spicy, and aromatic. The bottle is nice too. But sadly not unique nor expectional in its excution. Perfromace is mediocre. You can find hundreds of similar scents with better performance, and hundreds of better scents at the same price to purchase before this. Perfromance 6.5/10 Scent 7/10

So whilst I’ve only tested this on a strip, immediately it comes across as stronger than Original EDP.. Whether that also means longevity is Improved who knows... What I can say is that this Parfum version has similarities to some of Valentino Born in Roma line. Especially BIR Intense. When the Lacoste hits discounters I may get a small 50ml.

If the incense is properly done, this could be a real sleeper of a fragrance!
