L'Homme Lacoste

I’m editing this because I don’t think my initial review was sufficient. While I do feel this resembles coach for men, it by no means is the same scent. If anything it has the same overall feel - maybe the same base or something. Regardless, I hear everyone saying this isn’t anything new or exciting - and while, yes, I agree - it’s also the best of the genre. I agree that it falls into the same general category as sauvage, invictus, coach, Aqua Atlantic etc - but this does it way - way better. I promise you, if this had a Dior label - it would be the newest darling - “a much smoother, refined sauvage” - but, alas it is not. This will always be the forgotten sibling. Oh well - top notch release and better than the rest. Regardless of the note breakdown, this resembles coach’s newest release for men. While Lacoste isn’t as piercing, it definitely has a similarity. I find this one much more pleasant and smooth. I don’t smell rhubarb whatsoever - at least not the type of rhubarb I’ve smelled in other scents which feature the note. Instead, I get A warm, soapy citrus type smell. For people who enjoy invictus Aqua, coach for men and even sauvage - but are looking for something a little warmer and smoother than the previous three, I think this is a great option. 7/10

Amazing scent. Monster compliment getter...for like 15-30 mins. After that they’d practically have to be on you to smell it lol. It’s a really sweet creamy citrusy orange rhubarb scent. Just a touch of spice from the ginger and a faint woody background. Pretty linear scent. Great for summer as that would boost the performance a little bit. Lasts for about 3-4 hours on my skin and around 6 on clothes. Not too bad in terms of longevity, but the longevity and sillage is just almost none existent. Any age range can wear it, but I’d recommend it for someone younger rather than more mature. It’s got that very energetic active youthful vibe to it. Pretty much for any occasion in the warmer months, except for dressed up occasions. Great looking bottle. Overall rating: Scent - 10/10 Longevity - 5/10 Projection - 3/10 Sillage - 3/10 Compliments - 10/10 for the first 10 mins, then around 6/10 after that due to weak performance. Versatility - 6/10. Only works for warm weather, and DEFINITELY not for dressed up formal occasions. Presentation - 9/10 Overall rating - So hard to rate it cuz normally that performance it drag it down quite a bit. But I love this scent. To me it’s the perfect sweet citrusy orange scent. So imho I’m gonna give it a 7/10

I absolutely love the rhubarb/orange opening on this one. I wish it would stay longer. After 1/2 hour there's nothing left. Doesn't even dry down to anything I can detect. I'm puzzled about what others say it is like when it dries down, as those are fragrances I know and like. For me, just nothing. OK, then I spray on a whole lot more than I normally would, and several times. Seems to still disappear rapidly, and nobody notices it. However, puzzlingly, many hours later, like when I wake up the next morning, there's a slight remnant of it that lingers, that is sweet and nice, but that I didn't notice until then. And that's after some 10-12 sprays. Puzzling performance on my skin, obviously. Later update: Alright, ok, if I follow a different pattern than I normally do, it is not that bad. See, with most fragrances I like, I spray mainly on the trunk of my body, under my shirt, and I like how they interact with my skin and it is noticeable for others. But with something like this fragrance, that doesn't work at all. I have to put it all on the outside, several sprays on my neck and on my wrists, let some of it end up on my shirt, etc. Still not long lasting, but at least it is noticeable.

I get a powderyness from the almond, vanilla, and musk, that mixed with the cedar and citrus gives it an overall early formulation Dior Homme vibe. This is softer and weaker than Dior Homme 2011, and a more airy type of fragrance. You do need to go heavy with the sprayer (3-4x more) if you’re looking to get the same impact as something like Sauvage, although I do find Lacoste L’Homme to have decent noticeable 5hours+ longevity on fabric. Similar in to The One edt, but L’Homme has a little more style and more going on. It’s kinda like they took The One with its amber citrus vibe and added a powdery vanilla/almond note with more woods. This has its place if you’re looking for a versatile fragrance that’s soft and warm but not overpowering. Probably a perfect 1st date scent because it doesn’t have any harsh edges, it’s inoffensive yet more complex then The One, isn’t gonna burn anyone’s nose if they get too close, and by the time it starts wearing off you should be getting close up with your date.

I absolutely love this one! Grabbed this 100ml for a decent price at a Marshall's. One of the first colognes I bought actually getting into the frag community. After I got it before really giving it a just due wearing, I almost regretted getting it. Everyone online minus maybe Gent Scents was bashing it. So I gave it a test drive to see for myself. What did I find? Yeah. It's awesome. The rhubarb is prominent and makes this one stand out from other colognes but not in any offensive way. You aren't going to get beast mode performance. You will get a solid 4-6 hours of scent from it. I did 4 sprays at 2pm and was still smelling it at 830, but just barely. This will get you compliments though. Maybe not to the extent of something like a Sauvage, but you'll get noticed. Signature scent worthy! I'm still baffled that I heard on YouTube that this is nothing special and not unique. Bull, it most certainly is. So worth getting for the price!

Nose Note #640 It fits in the tetralogy - DG The One, YSL L'Homme, Boss Orange for Men, Lacoste L'Homme. They are all different, but are somewhat similar - an enigmatic scent with citrus or ginger, a little spicy and ambery, mildly sweet. When you smell them, you can't really pick the scent apart, it's just "a perfume". Translates a very nice sense of masculinity. Not harsh, not overly sweet, not feminine, not unisex, just manly. Not a classical mens fougere, it's modern. This to me is in par with YSL, better than Orange, but The One is a clear winner. They all are average performers. Upd.: I'm changing the performance vote to "weak". 1-2 hours is really what you get. After 2 hours you can barely smell it. And also the way I'd describe it - it's like a precursor to Louis Vuitton Afternoon Swim, but not quite, obviously. It's a similar sweet and light citrus scent. Not greatly masculine. 8/10, great and has nice complexity

This is my kind of citrus! When you're tired of bergamot or lemon as your perfume's top note this is a good respite, or shall I say good sanctuary. I just simply love this scent. For once, nobody is influencing me to buy this fragrance. I just recently stopped watching youtube recommendations/shill workers for a break, or maybe better for good. Just a chance encounter in a perfume shop when the salesman sprayed something on my forearm and it smelled f**kin good at first whiff. What did you just sprayed on me? It just smelled good, man. Another laid back, silent assassin scent that knows its own strength and doesn't need to scream at the top of the world just to be noticed. 8.7/10

L'homme de Lacoste is a citrus, spicy, ambery and woody fragrance. Its opening is pleasant, it is citric like the smell of a tangerine, accompanied with the spice of ginger. Minutes later, the aroma of woody notes and a kind of amber increases and it does not change again until more. L'Homme is a fragrance with a pleasant aroma, very good to be used for office work and casual outings. Its duration is regular between 5 to 6 hours. low sillage. Probably this fragrance is a more mature proposal than Lacoste has accustomed us to, and although it is not very original (remember some between The One D&G and Boss Orange for Men), it is pleasant.

This one’s an uncrowned king on a budget, in my opinion. I got this for maybe £25 and it’s done me very well for quite a while. It’s a citrusy and woody fragrance with quite a fresh mandarin smell at first, transitioning to a softer woody vanilla after the dry down. It’s quite a refreshing, summer-based, easy to wear scent. The projection and longevity are pretty average but the smell is absolute awesome. I have to say, Lacoste L’Homme is criminally underrated and an insane daily to have during the summer, for a price that will make your wallet feel as good as you do when wearing it.

I really like this one ! OK its never going to be my favourite but there's something here that keeps me spraying it.Others have said it and i agree that its Lacoste's version of D&G's 'The One' with orange at the opening. Nice dose of ginger and a hint of rhubarb.Extremely versatile,almost every season apart from summer and every occasion day or night but i'm sticking to Autumn as its perfect fit. Got a huge 150ml bottle for £30. Great value and a good release from a so-so house. lasts 6/7 hours and decent projection for 2 hours.

I love it as an excellent summer fragrance and bought many 150 ml bottles of it. I was lucky to get authentic German old batches. My brother bought me a newer French one. I compared both and both were macerated for the same time even more for the French one. Big difference in favor of old German one. It's more powerful in all aspects specially longevity and projection. May be they did that to make people buy the intense version. But in my opinion, The old original German one smells better than the intense.

Lacoste is a consistent deliverer that provides everyday scents. They're usually light, traditionally masculine, modern French and a bit sporty. Lacoste L'homme is no different. On my skin, it's got a very brief very beautiful orange flower opening. Smooth and soft. That develops in minutes into a heavy lemony gingery cypriol oil which I love. 6 sprays for the office gets me 4 hours. I had the intense and would pick this over that. A keeper!

This is one of the best fragrance in my collection. I'm lucky to get 6 hours of longevity with 2 hours of projection out of this fragrance. Very sweet and pleasant smell. All i can give is 10/10 ratings because it smells really good. Can wear this at any time and anywhere. My bottle was made in Germany. Some people say their bottle was made in UK. Got any different in performance? Anyway, the scent is seductive.

That Rhubarb note raised me an eyebrow. I didn't wanna smell like the dry market or some sorta vegetable stew. But I was wrong. This is a spicy, slightly metallic, modern fragrance that shines in casual wear. I didn't know what a unique yet mass appealing fragrance would smell like it, but I think this is great example of it. And don't even get me started on the price.

oh yeah! after trying a sample first some months ago, i wasn't blown away. but the memory of the scent still lingered in my head and when i tried it a second time i was lost/found! pure summer in a bottle! soothing and refreshing at the same time. a great substitute amongst all the winter-based heavyweighters!

This is my favorite of the scents my partner wears. It's not overwhelming and you really only smell it when you are super close. It's refreshing and not overly musky/woody for an everyday scent. The black pepper is unique enough to stand out. It's a good smell to wear when going out to eat.

I'm very surprised with this Lacoste release. Very nice citrusy- sweet - fruity combination. In the dry down you can feel the woods (kid of). I can still feeling it after hours, and projection is rather decent. I am enjoying it a lot.

At the first spray I was blown away by this scent. It's sweet, the opening with the rhubarb is great. It settles down after a while and still is wearable but I don't think that this is a beast or good projection scent. Still 7/10

Very pleasant, yet very energetic. It has a little twist of notes, which makes it a bit more unique to the most recent releases, really like the Quince mix with Almond and other citruses. Good, above average performance.

Fantastic fragrance. Super versatile, complements getter. Very modern, clean/ fresh, pleasant for any occasion. Juicy orange ginger pleasant scent, Perfect for office or casual wears. Performance is average.

This has a gorgeous juicy fruit opening with a nice rhubarb note. Rare to find a men's fragrance that is fruity but is still safely "masculine." This one is kind of a hidden gem, IMO.

Man, I'm on my second bottle and in this pandemic season, this will remain as one of my favorites.

Smells real good. Dior Homme Sport Vibe + The One EDT vibe. Blind buy as a casual scent.

Lacoste L”Homme was a decent fragrance that did warrant me to click the like button but it barely made the cut. L”Homme was a nice pleasant mix of soft but bright citrus mixed some spice that also has a slightly sharp note in the background. At first spray I didn’t think I was going to like this but it does get nicer the longer it sits on your skin. Once this dries down the citrus blends nicely with the amber and vanilla making this a pleasant,kind of relaxing ambers citrus smell. In my opinion it is true that this smells similar to D & G The one mixed with YSL L”Homme but both of those fragrances are way better and less synthetic than this ! This actually closer resembles Ed Hardy Villain which was a clone of The One. I even like Villain better than this Lacoste. I guess my main reason for not loving this is that Quince sometimes doesn’t mesh well with my skin and unfortunately this has that effect slightly in this scent because in the air this smells really nice but up close there’s a sharpness that’s off putting. Performance on this was decent as it lasts 5-8 hours but only with light projection which would make it nice for work. Overall rating —6.5 out 10 ! Decent scent that’s definitely nice but if you want a scent with this vibe for an even cheaper price I’d suggest Ed Hardys Villain

The guy below says this a ‘sweet oriental’ fragrance and I want to believe they are reviewing the wrong one. Lacoste L’homme Eau de Toilette is very citrus forward, a little spicy and mostly a green fresh scent to wear to the office, gym and any other informal activity. Very suitable for spring and summer day time and let me reiterate: It’s not sweet by any means, it might have some vanilla hiding somewhere on the dry down but it actually feels more salty than sweet to be more accurate. This is a fresh Mediterranean type of scent with similar vibe to some fragrances by the house of Hermès. If you find it at discounters for less than $40 USD you can grab it with confidence, it’s blind buy safe knowing its actual profile citrus/spicy/woody-green. Performance is ok for the price. Maybe it’ll get better after introducing some air inside the bottle but I like it how it is just fine. Keep in mind that when you own over 50 bottles like I do you don’t really need to care much about longevity, it’s actually better for me to wear light frags so I can shower and wear a different one without accidentally layering. Some juices out there are hard to scrub off the skin and they last longer than we think. 8/10

Hey, just a quick review about the stick deodorant I got in the mail today of L'Homme Lacoste. First, I ordered it for that rhubarb note, I am a rhubarb freak. :-) And guess what got me started with rhubarb? Don't laugh, but it was Sweet Pea lotion from Bath & Body Works that every other lady used to wear to the office. :-O Yes, I'm serious, the smell of rhubarb and peas together is magic to my nose. NOW - about L'Homme Lacoste... when I first smelled that rhubarb blended with citrus and ginger, I was a little impressed. It smells nicer than a few others I have tried lately, and is somewhat unique. I have several designer stick deodorants, and for a stick deodorant, it's quite strong. (And I certainly can't say that about too many other stick deodorants.) I got it for only $10, and I can't imagine anybody being offended by it. Thumbs UP. - EDIT - UPDATE - Wearing the stick deodorant version again, terrible headache. That's TWICE now. I LIKE the smell, but will probably toss it. :-(

I smelled this and wanted it shortly after because the dry down was so good; woodsy fresh spicy with citrus fruit. However, after wearing it around for some time it's lost its allure.. It's not a bad scent at all but it just stays very linear and somewhat safe (again, not bad but sometimes I don't want that). The longevity is disappointing as you get the basic blast of fruit and spice in the opening, spice and citrus in the middle and then an almost nonexistent clean soft musk at the end. I'm glad I snagged it from Ebay rather than buying it at full retail price; it'll be a nice scent to have in warmer months when I just want to wear something a little more commercial.

This is a nice and interesting scent. It stays on my skin long, but stays close to it. It gets me a lot of compliments when someone is very close to me. They say “you smell really nice, I like it”. Don’t expect massive projection, because it’s not meant to be a beast mode fragrance. I find this scent one of those that should deserve more attention. Plus, for the price, you get a really good value. Starts off citrusy, but after 30 min it turns more on the sweet side but in a very gentleman way. It reminds me a little bit to YSL L’homme in the dry down. Very enjoyable scent. Used mainly in spring and early fall.

Just got this today and wore it. Scent: This is a sweet oriental ambery scent with a nice and modern citrus accord and a beautiful vanilla backbone that smells creamy, woody and sexy. I blind bought it and was pleasantly surprised by it, reminds me a lot of D&G The One. Signature worthy. 20-50yo range, all ages basically. Performance: Not a slouch actually, decent projection for 3 sprays and doesn't really die down for an EDT, good sillage too. I applied it 2 hours ago and is still going decently strong. Cannot comment on full longevity. Definitely try this out if you're into ambery scents, an 8/10 for me.

This is a very pleasant scent suitable for spring/summer daytime. A light spicy orange scent with great versatility and moderate performance. Dominant notes are sub-sweet orange, smooth rhubarb, strong mandarine (especially at the opening), quinse and woody notes. I don't get any almonds but an essense like them somewhere at the background. Some ingredients must create this almondy illusion. If I couldn't see the note pyramide I wouldn't reffer to this. If you love orange, try it! This Lacoste scent is completely different from YSL Parfum Intense as some reviewers voted. Not even close.

I notice people compare this to a lot of different scents, but to me, it doesn't really smell like them. Just my nose I guess. I just bought a small decant of it. This is a totally fine and safe fragrance, that I find has a unique scent of it's own. I liked it but will take a few more wearings to decide if this is something I wanna buy. I like it but I don't love it and doesn't "WOW" me at the moment, and I already have enough of those type of bottles that fall into that "just okay" category. But it's a good fragrance I think.

Why this doesn’t have a higher rating is beyond me. This is such a classy elegant men’s fragrance. It has such a silky smooth clean, citrus creaminess aura. It’s very inoffensive and screams sophistication.. I could see the younger crowd’s maybe not appreciating this fragrance quite as much. I have seen mixed reviews on performance and personally it performs fantastic for me. I spray a little heavier given its clean, fresh qualities without any trouble and usually get 6-8 hours of longevity.

Happy with this purchase which i blindbought for around 25 USD. I find the opening predominantly spicy with intense citruspeel and ginger. So far dry and a bit stingy to be honest. The middlenotes are beautiful, spice, citrus come together with flowery notes and gravitates into a woody finish. The finish is in my opinion perfectly balanced with cedar ,jasmine,orange and a touch of vanilla . Just beautiful. Not offensive at all. Perfect everyday for office or why not wear to a date?

This fragrance angers me. Not because it doesn't smell good, because it actually smells wonderful. It's a great citrus/ginger combo with some subtle vanilla. It's decidedly sophisticated and pleasing and I love it. Which makes it so much more frustrating that it only lasts about 2 hours, maybe 3 on my skin. It's a good thing I got it for such a good price. It's still in the "like" category, since the scent is so great, but I really wish I could've put it on the "love" category.

Slightly generic but nice. Mandarin, ginger, amber, almond and cedar. The drydown places it somewhere between D&G The One and YSL L'Homme. The vibe I get from this is similar to the recent releases from YSL (Y) and Paco Rabanne (Pure XS), insofar that it won't offend anyone, but is also rather generic - this seems to be the designer trend momentarily. Projection is moderate and longevity somewhere between weak and moderate. Great office scent though, pleasant and inoffensive.

It's a no nonsense perfume. Whether you're going out to a cafe or work, this perfume would have your back. Is a head-turner? No. Is this a complement puller? Definitely not. But this will be your dumb-reach fragrance. It is a versatile fragrance for all your occasions in day, but when it comes to night - nah! So, if you want something fresh, but tired of the blue fragrances, just get this one. You won't be disappointed. Blind buy? Hmm, I don't think so.

The citrus and rhubarb are fantastic in this! This is very unisex leaning and this smells very creamy and nice. The orange is probably the most noticeable note in the beginning and throughout the duration. This is great for sunny days and warm weather. This is an easy reach that will be hard not to pass up in your collection. I've been reaching for this quite a bit in the last month since I got it. I give this a 9.2/10

This one was a love hate relationship for me. Some days it's the best juicy, tart fragrance ever and others it's a linear catastrophe, but I constantly find myself spraying this one on whenever I feel down. It serves as an awesome pick me up. It's a crisp, tart scent with a soft woody base that, more often than not, brings a smile to my face. Longevity isnt the best but for the price, it's worth it.

A citrus bomb and not in a bad way, it's actually one of the few mass appealing citrusy fragrances at that price. It used to be my office/gym fragrance, for office though i am afraid to say that it's not going to last for your entire shift 😅, performance sucks tbh but who cares it's always on amazon for $20 for 100ml. It's worth trying it's very refreshing especially if you live in a hot country.

It is a hidden gem, Elegant, Classy, Sophisticated and a bit Unique. It opens up with like fresh citrusy and slightly spicy then dry down is Ambery and Woody. This is perfect for the spring, summer and fall. If you like Dolce &Gabbana The One EDT, you will like this one. I really enjoy it and I like L'Homme Lacoste EDT for Men, Highly Recommended. Thumbs Up. Rating : 8 / 10

This one is actually very nice, maybe the best from Lacoste in many years, it reminds me of another fragrance but i cant remember who it is, i have only sprayed my hand once about 6 hours ago and it is still very noticeable, what i get is a nice sweet scent, but the drydown is where the magic happens its very good.

بوی ملایم مردونه داره. مثل بقیه کارای لاکوست، البته این عطر فضای رسمی داره. رایحه‌ی مرکبات، به، زنجبیل، فلفل و بادام به راحتی داخلش حس میشه. It has a mild scent, Like the rest of Lacoste perfumes. but this fragrance has a formal atmosphere. The citrus, ginger, pepper, Quince and almonds smell easily noticed.

I really love the opening of this one! Fruity woody! Almost like hugo boss the scent,but leans more fruity,had that DG the one vibe,but when it dries down,its on creations, Its amazing! Its really unique! Sexy yet masculine,dress up or casual, Perfomance and longevity 5-6 hours, Overall 9/10

This is a great cheapie. One of the best blind buys ever. This is not a unique or special fragrance, but the scent is versatile, very pleasant and super mass appealing. Performance is horrible though, but hey, with such a good price I don't mind re-applying.

StevesmellsGood nailed it in his review. Classic Lacoste. Smells good. Inoffensive, but weak longevity. Find dry down to be very similar to D&G the One. Really enjoy it, but the fact it doesn't last brings it down to a like.

orange, ginger, rhubarb and pepper fragrance on the top. After a few hours it smells like a lighter version of Guerlain l'instant de guerlain pour homme. Week projection but ok on the longevity, decent office scent.

quite pleasant frag from Lacoste. Does not remind me of any YSL around but... very similar to Armani Eau d’Aromes instead both with main notes and lack of parameters :)

Ok just had first spray, a summer time slight spice orange scent. Nice but maybe done before, i like it but more wearings needed to actually give a full opinion.

If you like L`Homme from Lacoste you may as well try Eau d'Aromes from Armani. Both are very similar and sillage and longevity are also quite comparable

This is a nice smelling Spring cologne with piss poor longevity. I'm glad I have it, but I wouldn't ever buy another bottle of it.
