Encre Noire Sport

Update from last review. Man this has grown on me deeply. I didn't know what to expect from this but I think I'm going to make this my signature. The reason being is this fragrance, feels very much a work of art in the sense that it isn't making a STATEMENT... It's allowing interpretation. That's really genius. This fragrance allows you to project upon it. Before getting this I read things like vampiric, earthy, forest vibes, funeral vibes, clean, uplifting, dark, bright, Gothic. I can honestly say I can see how anyone could say any of those things. I've been wearing it the last couple days and it's really sunk in on me today that this is a masterpiece. It went from a strong like to a love for me. What I get the most from it is the skin scent. I think this is one of the best fragrances because it has that very minimal vibe to it that feels like it's emitting from you and not sprayed on you. It smells very clean, yet dark, like it leaves a very very very lasting impression. And its like a chameleon. If I smelled this on a guy in a suit and tie, without knowing the fragrances context, I'd say he smells really nice and clean. If I smelled it on a guy wearing all black and shades on a summer night I'd think he actually was a vampire lol. If I smelled this on a woman I'd think it was her natural pheromones. Its a blank canvas in that regard. It morphs with the wearer. I do kind of get a black ink vibe from it. Its like ink mixed with waters from Fiji. Like waters you can smell out in nature after a rain shower. It also reminds me of peace and serenity. This is crazy. I'm in love with this. Signature scent worthy. I'm honestly, very happy this isn't a popular fragrance. With that being said... It does sit close to skin. I could be going nose blind but it wafts. It's strange because when I put it on, I smell it in little wafts. Then one hour later or 30 minutes later I get a very nice, tight scent bubble and it feels like it wraps around you in a aura. This fragrance can be felt. If you wear this, you will leave an imprint on people's mind. We've all smelled fragrance, some good, some bad. Some too obnoxious, many mediocre. But this is neither. This is in a lane of its own. I can't wrap my mind around how this can smell like a luxurious bath, a forest, ink, gothic and nostalgic at the same time. Dare I say sexy. Yes... Sexy. I'm going to get the original, the extreme version and the indigo also just because this one blew my expectations and first impressions out the water. I've smelled many many many fragrances, granted I've only dipped my toe in niche houses but this is unlike anything I've ever had. I figure this is perfect for summer. If the OG and the rest of the flankers keep this consistency but for the cooler and colder seasons I may have to be a lifelong buyer because this has scratched an itch in my fragrance journey I'm never even knew I had. For me? 10/10. I won't complain about longevity, projection, or sillage because this is perfect. Not too much, and not too much less especially for summer. And wear I live it gets very hot & humid. I recently received a sample pack containing Encre Noir and its two flankers, so I've had the opportunity to test all three over the past week to get a good comparison. As most people have already said, the entire EN line is a very interesting and unique set of fragrances that feels like an art piece. Here are my comparisons below: Encre Noire: this smells like you're sniffing the roots of a tree in a dark and damp forest. People aren't exaggerating: this is exactly what it smells like. I never knew that you could bottle the scent of "dark", but Lalique managed to do just that. The initial blast of cypress is a bit overwhelming and headache-inducing for me, but the middle and base notes of vetiver, musk, and cashmere wood create a pleasant, earthy scent once the top notes wear off. I found that performance is pretty good on me - I could detect the scent lingering for 7-8 hours - but the sillage was pretty close to the skin. My wife was not a fan of this one, describing it as smelling "interesting but not great". Of the three, EN is the most conceptually pure but probably the hardest to wear. I'm not sure when I'd reach for this one. Still, I'm glad to hang onto my decant for a special occasion when I want to smell extremely earthy and dark. I'd give this 4/10 for wearability, but 10/10 for execution of an artistic vision. Encre Noire A L'Extreme: this smells like you're laying on the ground of a dark and damp forest next to a sexy vampire. The addition of amber and spicy notes makes this more wearable, warm, and pleasant, while retaining the intensely earthy and dark scents of the original. I could see myself wearing this one semi-regularly during the cold months, especially at a bonfire or hiking trip. If I was the kind of person that could pull off a totally black suit with a black shirt and tie, this would be the scent I'd reach for - it has an almost gothic combination of darkness with formal warmth. I'd give this a 6.5/10 for overall wearability, and 9/10 for uniqueness. Encre Noire Sport: this smells like you're laying on the ground of a dark and damp forest in the middle of a rainstorm. It's a unique, fresh fragrance to me: it's like digging through the damp dirt of a garden on a cool spring day. The contrast of the fresh citrus and water notes with the rich earthy notes is very interesting. My wife thought it smelled a bit aquatic, saying "you smell like a merman" after some of the top notes had worn off. I'm not sure if that was a good or bad review (I guess it depends on the merman), but I really enjoy this fragrance. This'll probably be in my regular rotation in the spring and summer for when I want something different from your typical fresh scent. I'd give this a 7/10 for overall wearability, and 9/10 for uniqueness. Of the three, this is the one I'm the most likely to buy a bottle of.

I might not be the only person who, on seeing the word “Sport” on a bottle of perfume, immediately thinks of the typical suspects—synthetic blue aquatics, a sharp shower-gel kind of freshness, and an excessive amount of laundry musk intended for general market appeal. It’s rather surprising to come across this label on an Encre Noire flanker, even though I had deliberately avoided it for a long time, and this has now become the final one from that range that I’ve tried. In fact, I had tried the Encre Indigo before I tried this one. Yeah, even that one. So here's the story about this one. TOP NOTES The first couple of minutes deliver a realistic burst of tart, bitter grapefruit skin along with lemony bergamot. Unlike typical summer releases that utilise sugary, candy-like citrus notes or harsh synthetic lemons, Lorson keeps the fruit accord distinctly dry, natural, and acidic. HEART NOTES Leave it for ten to twenty minutes, and the cypress and a clean, soft lavender will begin to appear in the middle phase, eliminating any harsh edges from the opening. ne of the advantages of all the Encre scents is that they never have a synthetic or cheap feel, something that many more expensive brands can only wish for, even though they charge you five times as much as Lalique. BASE NOTES The base is a special mix of two types of vetiver: bourbon vetiver, which adds earthy, smoky warmth, and Haitian vetiver, which brings a cleaner, greener, slightly nutty woodiness. As it settles into a skin scent over a couple of hours, it remains quite clean and sophisticated, evoking high-end stationery, fine woodwork, and damp soil warmed by the afternoon sun. OVERALL I know some readers have been seeing this line discussed online and aren’t sure which one to start with. Many of you probably fear the name by which it is famous – The Black Ink. Fear not, since you can start with the Sport flanker, which isn’t really sporty, but is more wearable and, in my opinion, the easiest one to enjoy. Absolutely love. Not sure I can explain it better than others here have. The atomizer is OK. It shoots a bit straight for my liking, likely because its meant for pulse points and not clothes. Im someone who has faint smell (or goes noseblind quickly, cant tell yet) so im not a good judge on sillage/longevity, but it.. Suffices. I can smell it barely on skin 8hr later, what happens in between I can't say. Its not a "beast" is for sure. XX Artisan is more peppery and forward, maybe a tiny tad sweet (while this just isnt), for events or outings. This is more deep and reach, the citrus from grapefruit is only a bit of twang, more closed room, classy or intimate. Of course can still be used for outings, but not in high summer's day heat. If you are looking for a typical/classic "summer scent," a citrus bomb, or a freshie haven, this is not it. I hate Acqua di gio (not that i cant appreciate, but I'd never wear it's main dna) for example. I haven't tried Grey Vetiver, but want to now after this and encre noir. Maybe im a vetiver type. Some of the reviews; "Powdery-smelling banana cypress, no thanks" and their favourites are adg essenza, aventus creed, and some mountain water. "I expected something more unique, disappointed" has 5 fragrances ever marked down and their top 2 are khamrah qahwah and liquid brun (this one made me laugh a little). This scent is not for some people, not that itll be disliked or hated, but that the profile itself will not be seen or appreciated for what it is actually doing well. This site should be a reminder to look at people's tastes before accepting their criticisms blindly. Great spring/summer/fall choice for people who arent into blues or freshies. If its summer day, beaming 350, no clouds, sweating without shade, then OK maybe not... I could even see this on a winter's day after the snow fights off the sun's beams in the morning, glistening in cry... Yum

It's official! Lalique is now my favorite house. Encre Noire Sport is wicked awesome! As we say here in Boston. But truth be told, I held off on buying this flanker because many reviews here indicated it was 80-90% similar to the original with just some added freshness. As the happy owner of the original, which I've grown to adore, I figured it made no sense to buy the Sport flanker if they smelled alike. Well, I finally gave in on the advice of a friend here, and I'm glad I did! Although you can certainly detect the original in this, especially in the dry down, it still has it's own uniqueness. Sport is clearly fresher, more versatile and much more of a crowd pleaser. Best of all, it's so different than any other "summer" fragrance of the typical aquatics and citruses. It's the best vetiver-based fragrance in my entire collection... and that includes the original! As for Lalique becoming my favorite house. The reasons are simple. They have unique fragrances that perform excellent (at least the ones I have) sold at very competitive prices. I own Encre Noire, Encre Noire Sport, Lalique Pour Homme, and Lalique White. The latter 3 I purchased over the last couple months. Honestly, I could not be happier with a fragrance house. In total I invested about $130 dollars in these 4 fragrances. Dior, YSL, de Marley, Tom Ford, Creed, and other 'leading houses' should all be ashamed of what they're bringing to the marketplace compared to Lalique which offers beautiful fragrances at bargain prices. I know this reads like a Lalique shill or something. I just want to give credit where credit is due.

Going on what (MY PERCEPTION) of Lalique's Encre Noir Sport was before I ever tried it, I have to wonder if folks have NOT yet tried this fragrance bc they fear its too Basic or "Main Stream" like I once (WRONGLY) did. I want folks to know how ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, elegant and even sophisticated this fragrance truley is! Before I tried EN-Sport I was under the impression that this scent would smell sorta "Generic", but I should've know better bc Alchemist Sorceress-Queen Nathalie Lorson doesn't do "Basic." This fragrance is so very appealing! The watery-citrus note is NOT astringent, harsh nor does it over-power the GORGEOUS, earthy Vetiver which is also toned down a bit in this "Sport Edition" so that all the other notes are able to be enjoyed and noticed. EN Sport does NOT come off as a "Sporty Fragrance" at all imo. Again, it wears very elegant, classy and can definately be dressed up or down, although the OG Encre Noire is probably the most classy and elegant of all three iterations tr. It has great, solid longevity and moderate projection. Man, this Encre Noire line has gotta be one of THEE MOST Cohesive "Niche like," affordable fragrance lines around NO DOUBT! Its sorta crazy that all three fragrances in the Encre Noire line can be had for just over $90! I own nearly 200 fragrances and have actually purchased a back-up bottle of OG Encre Noire and Im planning on getting back-ups of EN L'Extreme as well as EN Sport before they get horribly reformulated or something. An 8 outta 9 fragrance no doubt! GORGEOUS!

this is just plain good man. initially the notes listed here are spot on. exactly what you think it smells like, it smells like. real tangy, spicy water and light cologne (if that makes sense to you). But give it a few months and it mixes into something i can only describe as wet, wood-y/timber-y, light, aquatic, parchment. this thing smells like aged paper. i love that. it's a really unique part of my collection now when it used to be something i initially thought was... generic and "got what i paid for". give it a few sprays, throw it in the cabinet for a while, and take it out when the juice turns a dark green like mine. then you can start wearing it. whoever described it as feeling like a old sexy vampire when they wore it wasnt too far off, but i honestly feel more like a pirate or something (it's very aquatic in a way i just cant describe man. you need to have it to know). is this a sexy scent? IDK, to me not really. but i didnt buy this expecting sexy. what i got was a slightly casual, everyday scent that makes me feel unique. saw someone say it smells raw... yes, yes it does. intimidating. not a safe purchase for someone not wanting to take a risk for a not-crowd-pleasing smell. if you want something a little artistic but casual? this is it. cons: doesnt last as long as some others i have, barely projects. but when i do smell it on my skin, its always great. will i repurchase? unsure. i might try out the original encre noire after. but do buy this if youre interested. i definitely dont regret it.

I've had this for about 2 years and this might be the second time I wear this gem. The weather is particularly hot and even though I'm in an office climate something that isn't thick and cloying is a must. Enter Encre Noir Sport. The most wearable and possibly most appealing flanker. Now my taste in aquatic / sport /cucumber/ melon notes is really negative. Encre Noir Sport is aqautic for sure but the dark bitterness of the vetyvers are the trick in this line. The bitterness of the Lemon and Bergamot marry into that vetyver and aquatic notes so they sing like a dark choir around you. I find the scent cold and actually cooling. Most of my scents hold a coumarin note and vannilins so it's nice to go in a direction that might be a bit old school and all the way different. If i huff it close to my wrist i get dark earthy notes buried inder a lemon zing Bergamot aquatic. It's forest scented but not wood shop wood plank woody. The vetyvers make it mossy moldy and dark in the vein of the original dark classic it hails from. Nathalie Lorson is a Master perfumer. I could kidnap her and Anick Menardo and force them to make me scents ...but I'm not a psychopathic perfume junky. The dry down on my undershirt before going to bed was a dark oily almost chemical wood like cedar mulch or some oily fragrant woods. Definitely lasts for 2 chest sprays. A job well done in a direction those who love weird and different will converge. That's where I'm going today.

In my experience, this fragrance had some interesting evolution depending on the temperature. First time I used it was during about 10C outside and the bottle was quite cold as well, right after delivery. The scent was interesting, kind of herbal-pharmaceutical, reminding eucalyptus candies to some extent, with cooling effect, also woody-tree bark vibe. But after a longer time this scent started to become nauseating although still addictive, made me smell it over and over. Next day, I sprayed it after the bottle spent night in room temperature, and there was about 15C ant finally, I could smell some citrus and vetiver after the scent really set on the skin and I am in love! Smell is still fresh, kind of sporty but still very elegant. Great mixture of herbal notes, without that pharmacy from first time and also clear wood hints. Honestly, it is quite unique scent, with great quality, made by legendary perfumer for a cost of average Arabian perfume, at this moment 20-25 EUR for 100 ml. Might not be safe to blind buy if you never had vetiver bases scent but in my case it was worth the risk. Amazing for spring when all plants start to rebirth and release their essential oils to the air, makes you feel as the spring itself.

I think I left a comment sometime a year or more back but I felt I should retrace this masterpiece with another comment of praise. It's raining today and I decided to give this one a go since I felt it suited the occasion perfectly, and I was not wrong. I still can't get over how good this line is, and although you can make the argument that other's in the encre noire line are more distinguished, there's something about sport that I just find myself coming back to over and over again. Likely it's versatility, since others in the line have specific use cases and occasions, while this one can have many. Masculine without being try hard, refreshing without being blue or boring, elegant without being highbrow, casual without being sloppy. Did it reinvent the wheel? No, but is it like 50 other fragrances that go for the same profile? No, it separates itself. I can't understand why such a fragrance would be 20-30 bucks but I am not complaining. Lalique is a great house that is often overlooked and they carry the French perfumery model to a high standard with beautiful glass designs, unique scent profiles and incredible prices for the quality that they give. One of the best houses P4P IMO.

I never thought vetiver can be blended into a smooth, transparent, cooling, and fresh scent before smelling this one. You get the feel of clean harvested green flower petals (with no flowery scent) but rather a fresh watery delicate plant leaf as if it's covered by a spring morning dew. You don't get anything chemical, nothing thick, just clean and calming...for a vetiver, that's incredible. This is not playful, but rather meditative, not a party vibe, but rather if you're wearing white in an early cool summer morning or evening, this fits like like the cool breeze and the hissing grass in that image. Don't wear it for compliments, it's not for that, wear it to feel clean, elevated, well put together, and wear it for you. If you're going to work, make sure to iron your shirt/t-shirt. It's a vetiver, not an uplifting citrus, but rather a calming vetiver. Remember, if I like something, it doesn't mean that you will do too. Also I am writing this at a moment when I feel that I especially like it, on a different day, I might opt for TF Grey Vetiver for a vetiver fragrance. Smell as a sense is the least objective of all our senses.

I love the resinous dark and mysterious feel of l'extreme and the dry, dense rooty forest feel of the original. At first sniff, I wasn't wowed by sport, BUT I find myself reaching for sport more than any other in the line. It's just more versatile, and great when you don't want to overthink it. It more closely reflects the original with that dry vetiver but lightens it up a bit and adds citruses to make it semi more mass appealing. For me I've come to really appreciate it and at it's price (and all the rest in the line) you are getting quality juice that doesn't smell like everything else out in the market. I think this fragrance works best in spring and fall and is definitely a more casual wear for day time. Perfect for your errands and non-offensive enough for office wear. It might be casual but classy enough and mature enough not to be basic. As far as how I see this is a perfect mature casual; I don't see someone in their teens or early 20's wearing this, but I can picture anyone over 30 or so wearing this dressed casually to business casual. It can also work as an office scent.

A refreshing take on the OG, this was one of my first acquisitions. A total misnomer, it would’ve been better if they called it Encre Noire “Eau Fraîche” or “Aqua,” since there’s nothing particularly sporty about it (how could this dark, forest vibe ever be evocative of sports?). It opens with a healthy dose of bergamot, grapefruit, nutmeg, and calone (“watery notes”), before taking you into that familiar ground of cypress and vetiver roots (and Cashmeran and ISO E Super). Excellently blended, synthetic but always tasteful, it’s a dumb reach for warmer days, dry or wet. I can also easily dress it up for work, making it one of my most versatile frags. True to the house’s vocation, the bottle is gorgeous. The Encre Noire Trilogy by Nathalie Lorson still gets you the most bang for your buck in the game, and serves as an effective reminder that paying ten times more for 100 ml of juice will not necessarily get you ten times more quality and originality. An object lesson in proportionality.

Those who don't get citrus in this scent should smell the original along side this. When compared back to back, the citrus notes are very clear and obvious. The original is black ink...period. Sport however, is black ink with citrus, lavender and aquatics. Its a more mainstream version of the original but i don't mean that in a derogatory way. This scent would still be daring and very complex for an average fragrance buyer but compared to the original this scent would be far less challenging to the average nose. I love this scent and highly recommend it. Its currently one of my favorite scents. Its masculine and just another well made, niche quality fragrance from the House of Lalique. Edit. I recently tested this out and found longevity to be very impressive. Projection was good as well. 7-9 hours with 3-4 hours of decent sillage. It has presence. There are Niche scents 5x's what this sells for and id say most cant hold a candle to this. 10/10 YouTube Channel- Simply Put Scents

Edit: upon several more wears and some months of maceration, I have come to really appreciate this one. While I love Vetiver Sensuel for summer vetivers, this one is now in the rotation. The oceanic notes begun to become more smooth as it aged. It become richer and less airy. I think the aquatics with the very rooty vetiver that the EN line uses took some time to coalesce. Now it is a very enjoyable blue (more like a "Dark Teal" scent). Given my preference for teal over blue scents for summer fragrances, this one finally won me over. *Original review:I enjoy EN and EN extreme but this was a miss for me. The aquatic notes with the very earthy rooty vetiver just didnt work for my nose. If the aquatic seemed more "fresh" water i think maybe but the blue notes felt very oceanic for me and just didnt jive. It was a vetiver bomb and blues thats all i got. It lasted a good amount of time however. Id sample before buying,

I paid less than $30 USD for this. Proves that originality, longevity, and affordability aren't as elusive and impossible as they sometimes feel they are... It is literally incredible the quality and uniqueness this bottle contains. I've had the OG for a while, and wear it on the more gloomy, melancholy days. Today, a cool, rainy day in the Northeastern part of the USA, I chose the Sport flanker as my olfactory companion through the daily journey. And it was spectacular. It is ethereal... somehow calming yet decidedly masculine and powerful. The citruses here fade rather quickly, but the 'watery' stuff makes this stand out. The further you get into the dry down, the more the base OG shows up. But not as smoky to my nose. Overall, if you like the OG, you'll like this. Maybe more. IDK. Sample it and see for yourself. Or, just go in for the bottle, since it is reasonably priced.

I found this fragrance to be very wearable in an office setting. It's certainly well crafted--tons of bergamot and some orange in the opening. The grapefruit is real and done perfectly; at first you might just think this is a classic cologne--until the vetiver starts coming out. The nice thing about this is that it does have calone in it, giving it an aquatic feel and along with the methyl pamplemousse (a natural smelling synthetic grapefruit) supporting the real grapefuit, you get some decent longevity on the top. Whereas Extreme and Noire original aren't what I would say are office friendly, this one certainly is. (although if I am comparing this to Grey Vetiver, I'm going to have to say that that one smells smoother and higher quality than this Encre.). But the quality is still here and it's uniqueness among similarly priced offers puts this at 5 stars.

Original Encre but much more versatile, it is very fresh while still having the ''forest'' vibes in it's drydown. It is surely cypress and vetiver who dominates here again, but it doesn't have that darkness or as some people say the funeral vibes here. It is brighter, and shining while still made for those who like bold, woody scents. If you like fragrances such as the original Encre or Terre d' Hermes you can pull trigger for this one. It is very cheap and for the price this quality is unmatched. Lasts very long for the fresh all-rounder this is, but it is not ''beastly'' or anything but rather offers the classic performance you would want and expect from a designer perfume. You do not need a 50 bottle collection. This and Encre Extreme could satisfy you just fine while setting you up for the WHOLE year and will make you stand up from the crowd.

I never blind buy full bottles, like, ever. But this was one of only two exceptions. At first sniff, I was convinced Ebenezer Scrooge wore this back in his younger times during summer. I didn’t understand this perfume at first. But then... something changed. My nose evolved or matured and now I can’t live without this. The bottle is a work of art: solid, heavy glass, a classy wooden cap, and the juice inside? A sharp, refined citrus-vetiver combo that’s bold without begging for attention. It’s not a compliment magnet, but it does make a statement. These days, it’s my go-to summer office scent. This is a great scent for rainy days too. I often layer this with John Varbatos Artisan Pure. I feel sharp, confident, and totally myself, and that, to me, matters more than anything.

Very good value, very good smell. I'd say it is very wearable by women too but of course it has traditionally masculine attributes so I leaned more male. It starts as a mainly citrusy scent, though you do get the others too, then it develops into a refreshing watery scent with the citrus fading into the woody notes and parts of the original Encre Noire from the base of it reveal themselves more. Definitely get it if that sounds interesting to you as the performance is decent too, though it's on the lower end of that spectrum on me. I may have made it seem more sophisticated than it is but it is a very good safe scent that really makes me get those, haha. I'll say it's an 8.5/10 for the sheer value, truly amazing for me to see that this can be had for a good price.

This is a deeply masculine fragrance that gives you an air of seriousness. I see it as perfect for wearing with a shirt and classic trousers. For me, it's a lighter, citrusy, and aquatic version of the classic Encre Noire, although they're actually pretty similar. I have both, so I can compare them side by side. This version, in my opinion, is a bit better for a hot summer day if you still want to smell dark and mysterious. Despite the silly name, I actually sometimes use it for the gym :) It's a bit reminiscent of Tom Ford's Beau De Jour Eau de Parfum, but with much weaker lavender. The performance and longevity are not outstanding, but considering the price and volume, you can refresh it on yourself as much as you like. Still, it's a really, really good perfume!

WOW. Just WOW!!! I’ve always wanted to try this but never pulled the trigger for some reason ... until now. And talk about luck: I just scored an almost full bottle (maybe four sprays missing) thanks to a friend who got it as a gift, didn’t vibe with it, and figured, “Hey, let’s give it to the only fraghead I know.” That would be me. I’ve been wearing it at home for the past two days and let me tell you, I’m in love. As a massive vetiver fan, this hits all the right notes. Dry, clean, and elegant with a refreshing twist that keeps it airy, but never leans into cloying sweetness. What really blows my mind is the price. How is this so affordable? If you’re into vetiver and want something crisp and sophisticated without breaking the bank, this is a no-brainer.

37 Male. Buy it (after the original) Encre Noire (original) is my #2 favorite vetiver scent to date. (#1 is Chanel Sycomore) I was worried this would go too far left towards barbershop vetivers and I wouldn't like it, or that the vetiver would be too muted and it would turn into a "cologne" scent. I am glad to report my concerns did not come to fruition. I am happy I bought this! For me, it is not very different from the original, which I like. Its just slightly different. Slightly easier to wear. However, if I had to pick one, I would still go with the original. If these were $100+ frags, I would be disappointed I have both in my collection (only due to cost). However, for how cheap these are, and for how long the last, I am VERY happy with my purchase.

The citruses are crisp and refreshing and perfectly complements the iconic Encre Noire cypress and vetiver. I exclusively wear this to the gym in the colder, wetter months. It can feel jarring to put on a sports fragrance which is too bright and punchy when the weather doesn't reflect it. Encre Noire Sport does the impossible, balancing moody and dark notes with the refreshing sports fragrance DNA without losing itself in the progress. I said I mostly wear this for the gym, but it's so versatile you could wear this anywhere, definitely work safe imo. Easily my favourite sports fragrance. P.S. When I first sampled it, I thought it was just kind of a watered-down less interesting version of the original. It really grew on me though, and I ended up buying a full bottle. I realized it was perfect for me because I don't like sweet fragrances, but I needed something fresh for the summer heat (can't wear my smoke and leather signatures in 90 degree weather). Encre Noire Sport is the closest thing to a "dark" or "goth" fresh fragrance that I've discovered, so it deserved a spot on my shelf. The smell itself is very watery and green and earthy. It smells like playing in the sprinkler on a grassy lawn when you were a kid. No vanilla or bubble gum sweetness -- just the refreshing scents of nature on a sunny day.

Very fresh green and relaxing. The cypress note is really underrated in this, as to me i think thats what actually gives this fragrance that feeling, almost smells eucalyptus-like. Vetiver is of course also very prominent. On me it has average longevity, around 5 hours and it sits a little closer to the skin, though i must admit i am what many people would consider a sissy sprayer when it comes to how much i spray lol, i usually do around 5 sprays for freshies and 2-3 for the heavier ones. Im sure if you sprayed more in the same place it would probably last longer. As of now my signature scent because of how incredibly versatile and easy to wear it is. Looking forward to getting the Extreme for fall and winter.

The 2 best about Encre Noir Sport is: - The grapefuit note is almost sureally good and accurate. The water note only makes it more realistic. It feels like you've just open a grapefuit by your hand and sniff your hand right away. And it's so freaking damn good and relaxing. It makes this sense smell more like a Polo or a Burberry. - The grapefruit note stays very very long to almost 70% of the scent's lifetime. I can also detect Encre Noir Sport here and there hiding in A L'extreme version. Feels good, smell good and very high class. The A L'extreme smells more expensive though. If A L'extreme smells like 1 billion. EN Sport smells like 900 million. haha. The best blind buy i've ever got.

I have over 170+ frags in my collection. My top 3 would be considered a joke by many. #3 Emessa by Gulf Orchard #2 Guerlain L'Homme Ideal extreme $85. The best Cherry, Plum, woody scent ever invented PERIOD, and finally #1 Encre Noire Sport $35. It's such a well put together fragrance for a masculine, confident man. It's has no weaknesses. It last how long it should, which is a complete 8 hour day. It projects how it should, a good 2ft. It solicits compliments when women and men alike smell it on you. These and the likes of "Oud for Greatness and Platinum Egoiste" should be in everyman's rotation. It's a bright, woody, earthy and fresh scent that should get more love. Enjoy!!!

If you love the OG but you want to be able to wear the OG in warm weather too, then this one is for you. The DNA is identical, you will just notice the new well blended summer ingredients added to it. I named Encre Noire as "the best cheap niche fragrance you can find that is the epitome of what a vampire is". Well this one you will truly appreciate it if you like the OG too. If not, it will be just another "summer fragrance", instead of a dark cold weather masterpiece adapted to be a warm weather version. Encre Noire is my Yin, Encre Noire Sport is my Yang, the beautiful harmony between cold and warm you need in your collection.

Phenomenal value for a great quality, unique vetiver scent. It's fresh, cold, green, foresty and slightly musky vetiver scent. More brighter and fresher take on OG. Smells more unique and elegant than your typical everyday fresh fragrance. The opening is a little bit sharp with grapefruit and cypress but the far drydown in particular, the scent that stays on your clothes after a day of wearing it is absolutely heavenly smelling. Very versatile and overall moderate performance. Fantastic value, but be aware that this is only for you if you like vetiver, otherwise you may not appreciate this.

I couldn't sleep tonight, so I decided to wear this bright and calming scent. It is sweeter than I remember; I was totally prepared for a serious vetiver-onslaught, but I mistook it for its older, moody sibling. I still cannot sleep, but at least I smell nice trying to. By the way, I accidently layered this with Imagination (which was already on my skin for about 7 hours) and it smells amazing. It makes Imagination a little more exciting and gives Ence Noir Sport a nice warm and dark undertone. Layering with just pure ambroxan might be enough, since Imagination contains 20% of it.

It's a beautiful blend of sharp citrus and herbal grassy vetiver. I still get that inky undertone as is the signature of the Encre Noire line but this one's more lively and less brooding than the sweeter, smokier A L'Extreme - which I also love. It's a steal for such high quality composition and versatility as it's perfect for most weather: rainy, sunny; cold and dry. Maybe not too cold though, as the lavender and citrus make have that fresh air vibe, but the vetiver is really punching above it's weight to add some cushioning for those sharper notes. Signature scent worthy!

Dark but sharp. Opening splash of citrus barely stays, I can smell it for maybe one minute. The middle is really nice, the cypress and water help balance each other out, smells masculine without getting over-confident. Has a slight "ink" accord to it but I never find it to be overwhelming. Honestly the dry-down is the best part for me. It's such a sexy skin-scent...I really have no other way to describe it LOL but it sticks around for a long time. If I put it on in the evening I can still smell it lingering on me in the morning.

A female coworker told me I smelled "dreamy." People always tell me I smell good, but so many ask, specifically, for the name of this fragrance when I wear it. Hard to describe in words how this smells, you just need to try it out for yourself. Like with the entire Encre Noire line, ENS isn't very strong or overpowering; it's a light scent just lingers... and trust me, people notice. Another masterpiece from the Encre noire line. This one is the most wearable, versatile and fresh. Encre noire sport is about 95% similar to the original Encre noire, with a hint of citrus/cucumber freshness to it. Pro tip: I've mixed this with a Molecule01 and it smells just amazing. The perfect combination of freshness, darkness and woodiness in one perfume. Currently wearing this in the summer, since I don't like boring blue "shower gel" freshies, but it can definitely work in any weather.

It's early summer. It's drizzling. 7° C. Gray clouds. Office work. It's precisely in this situation that this scent excels. My perfume wardrobe consists of dry, woody and classically masculine varieties. And this one really fits in here with its clear notes of grape fruit, bitter oranges. juniper, pine wood, nutmeg, moss and freshly ironed cotton. According to my wife, it smells like "grandma's summer cottage on an autumn day". Lasts 8-10 hours on my body.

Citrus rind in a forest. Less bitter than the og. Lasts a long time. Quite serious, you don't smell like synthetic candy like every other popular fragrance. 7 hours later I still catch whiffs of it. This is with 3 sprays. Feels high-quality. I am extremely pleased with it for the price. More forgiving than the og. The drydown mixes with your skin to give this kind of soft afterglow. This is honestly the best part; the opening can be a bit harsh.

Encre Noire, with some pond-watery musky florals, less of the instant sharp vetiver and an extra emphasis on nuttiness I don't find in the original. Only thing that could be improved is the performance, but I'm unsure if more longevity would have brought back too much of the heavy Encre Noire scent that makes this different They found a great balance here, super versatile as well. Never a bad time to smell like this stuff, 10/10!

If you don't like vetiver, do not blind buy this. But I love vetiver so this is one of the most freshy vetiver fragrance for autumn, spring and summer. It opens with realistic grapefruit and bergamot but that fades quickly then you get tons of vetiver and cypress and after that it really becomes a green skin scent. Its much more bright than the original. I recomend this to earthy scent lovers and all my vetiver lover homies.

This one surprised me a little bit. For a cheap fragrance I feel like this smells more niche. It has a very light airy nature to it. I got it because of the comparisons to TF grey vetiver. It’s only similar in the dry down to my nose. But this has a sophisticated element to it. Almost like being caught in a rain in a meadow or something. Probably not a safe blind buy like I did. But I really enjoy it.

Did not like this at all when I first got it. Tried it once and wrote it off. Then after about a month I decided to try it again, idk maybe maturation helped or my taste evolved a little but this smells soooo good. Smells like you stepped out of the shower...And the shower is in the middle of a rainy forest..Starts off with strong bergamot and slowly dries down to a dry and ashy vetiver smell.Really nice,lasts pretty long on clothes...Reminds me of a more earthy Terre D Hermes...Works in any season,just get this for a hilarious price and enjoy it as a easy daily driver...Bottle and atomizer are top notch!!

For the price you pay this is a masterpiece, better than a lot of other designer and even niche fragrances that don’t have a distinctive nature and are generic blends. This particular scent is very appealing to those who appreciate natural, woody, green, foresty scents. Even when you think the smell has dissipated you get random whiffs of it long pass the 6-8 hours. I love this one.

Absolutely gorgeous. Don't be misled by the word 'Sport', it has nothing to do with sports whatsoever. There is no other fragrance that offers value for money as Lalique does. For about € 25 you can order a 100 ml online and enjoy niche quality, projection and longevity. It's a blind buy for people who love TF Grey Vetiver EDT, Terre D'Hermès and the original Encre Noire.

I liked my sample of Guerlain Vetiver EDT, but I was on the fence because of its tobacco note. It can come off as too serious. Then I remembered I have this, so I sprayed them side-by-side. Wow. I actually prefer this! It solves the tobacco note, smells just as high-quality and classy, and is more pleasurable to wear! All for $25! An absolute must-have for vetiver lovers.

This smells like wet earth after a rainfall in the forest. I love it. It is just soooo good but sadly lasts fuck all on me. Thank god it's a cheapie so you can basicially overspray and/or reapply. It's not a blind buy safe fragrance in my opinion because it has a dark vibe to it. Not as dark as the original Encre Noire but definitely this one is a more mature perfume.

This is an extremely clean and fresh scent. This is nothing like any of the other fragrances in the Encre Noire line. This smells like some bougie soap that you find at a nice hotel. Very nice aquatic and citrus notes over a base of clean vetiver. Gives off very refreshing and clean vibe. With this you can smell like you just walked out of the shower all day long.

This is a masterpiece and you can’t convince me otherwise,it has no harsh edges,its quality is top tier,realistic notes without being synthetic and all that for 20€ for 100ML!
