Oriental Zinc

Oriental Zinc is my #1 fragrance currently in my collection, and I have some certified bangers. Not only was it luvv at first sniff, but my adoration for this fragrance continued to grow with each wearing, as I became more familiar with every facet of this beautiful composition. It was from this fragrance that I learned how much I truly enjoy the notes of fig, pink pepper, and cedar. They are working in perfect harmony! This sincerely is a gem that has been flying under the radar since its' release. At this stage of my fragrance journey, if I could only have one fragrance, without question this would be my choice. Everything about this fragrance speaks to my personality and compliments my lifestyle in every way. There is a surreal calmness that evokes confidence, where I feel more collected and grounded when I wear it. This is not a mainstream type of fragrance, which for me increases its' overall appeal. To have and enjoy a fragrance that isn't super popular yet unique and exquisite, makes it even more special. When I want and need to be on top of my game, I reach for Oriental Zinc!! #MicDrop

Aromatic, soft spicy, warm, fruity, vanilla, creamy, slightly woody, slightly ambery. Oriental Zinc is definitely an interesting scent. Yes, it has very common notes found in most of perfumes but doesn’t smell like anything else in my collection. The combo of lavender and fig is really nice. I am not a huge fan of any of those notes generally speaking but I love it here. Mixed with cinnamon, cardamom and tonka beans creates a absolutely delicious scent with gourmand facets. Being such a deep perfume, I find it more suitable for colder weather, especially for fall. It has a very cozy, enveloping feel. Very underrated scent and house, Lalique seems to me like a forgotten brand when it comes to fragrances. Long lasting scent with moderate radiance and expensive/high quality smelling. Would recommend highly to both genders, I am a female and I really enjoy wearing Oriental Zinc!

This is a very comforting smell. The opening is very cinnamon forward. It's a manipulated cinnamon that does not have the warm sweet notes of it which combined with bitter notes of tonka (kind of like almond but not exactly almond note) making it smell really like tobacco. I think that is why people find similarities to tobacco based frags. Off of my skin it has a piercing sharpness to it up close which very addictive. Great to have a tobacco smelling fragrance without tobacco in it because although I have and love a lot of tobacco frags but they make me cough for some reasons. Overall it is a big love for me minus the usual problem on these bottles -- the atomizer which powders the juice to much.

Wow it really makes me think about metal, to think that the aroma is conjured using organic notes really amuses me. I get the cinnamon and tonka bean from this perfume, and i think the metallic vibe is made from cardamom. And overall i get a warming nuance from this scent. With around 10 hours longevity and medium silage on my skin, this perfume feels very different from any other that i have (i wanted to get Quartana's Hemlock for its vinyl note, but someone else beat me to it)... So yeah, this is my first good metallic perfume.

Opens up very spicy and quite similar to Spicebomb but dies down to a soft, comforting smell. It smells quite a bit like Tobacco Vanille in its drydown phase which I absolutely love. Well blended and quality but I am not a fan of the opening. I love it for the drydown though. It feels like it doesn’t project much. There is a faint lavender smell in the drydown as well but it’s extremely subtle and contributes to its soft aura. A big love for me.

Fantastic creation. It never gets too sweet, so it stays in that lovely place of warm and mildly spicy. Perfect, especially for winter. They went overboard with the bottle design (the bottle is heavy), but kudos for at least trying. I don't feel there is anything in common with the Dior Homme line. The aesthetic is different. There's a lightness of touch here (big applause for Karine), which is not the case with Dior.

This scent is really good. My dad and I tried it and then I left his house. He called me asking what it was as it smells so good. Not sure if this will project or skin scent but damn it's like that at the fireplace but has more too it and changes.

Interesting comments about the color of the juice. Mine came in orangish color since day 1.

Cinnamon and tonka bean combo, done to perfection. AmaZing.

Beautiful presentation (luxury, fabric textured, reusable fabric-lined box, wooden cap, embossed metallic plates everywhere), for a start. Whenever i read "oriental" i am absolutely drawn to it and i must get it. That's why i bought it, sight unseen, as this line is not available where i live. It's a very good fragrance. Full, thick and deep. Superior longevity. Very spicy all the way from beginning to end. I got a distinct clove oil note upon spraying - not my stuff- but it fades immediately. I got no lavender, nor bergamot nor fig. Instead i got plenty of cinnamon and cardamom. After a few minutes it turns into what i call an "ambery" scent; even though not listed, it smells like an amber scent would do, as more often than not amber is mixed with vanilla and tonka. The drydown is all about tonka and spices and .... incense smoke. Yes... not listed, again, but here we have a very persistent and present smoky note. Could it be the patchouli? A creamy cedar note is also there, and this one i particularly enjoy. What can i say: i like it but do not love it. Super quality frag but...Too spicy, too smoky and way too masculine for my taste. Reminds me of Encre noire Extreme, Hommage à l'Homme, the vanilic drydown is similar to Dior Homme Intense and to Molinard Vanille Patchouli. Also shares some similarities with Ormonde Jayne Man. A wintry scent for a distinct gentleman.

I blind bought it based on the rating and it's a nice fragrance in gorgeous packaging, but unfortunately, it's not for me. It might be better for a man. It'd be good for daytime and nighttime. It's an elegant scent. A light warm spicy, aromatic fragrance. I thought it'd be thicker, sweeter, and maybe more ambery. If you want something lighter than Tobacco Vanille or Spicebomb, Oriental Zinc may be for you. In fact, I wouldn't say that it's similar to Tobacco Vanille. It has a subtle aromatic-metallic note (Zinc?) that maybe coming from lavender-cardamom-pink pepper combination.

I'm female, and to me this is perfectly unisex. I have never smelled tobacco vanille, but it smells quite similar to dupes. It last quite long and sits relatively close to the skin which is a actually a good thing to me, my other similar fragrances are all performance bombs which I don't always want. For this fragrance I have no trouble picking them put the cardamom, cinnamon, pink pepper and tonks (I would have just said it was vanilla though). Then there is something woody. The other notes I don't get at all (fig, lavender etc)

4.56/5? This is a 4.0/5 at best. If you have already tried Eau des Baux from L'Occitane, this is a very boring fragrance. This smells very similar to it and the notes are linear. I am a big Lalique fan and thought I might pull the trigger on this lesser-known, what looks like a premium line from Lalique, but what a mess it is. This smells warm, cozy, and wintery, but there aren't any captivating factors from the scents. It smells like an average designer scent. Do not blind buy it would be my conclusion.

In my bottle this juice is transitioning to a reddish hue - has anyone else seen this change in their bottle? I store all my scents either boxed in their seasonal bins or in a drawer in a cool walk-in closet with no temperature swings so I'm guessing this is an inevitable shift.

Along the lines of tobacco vanille and spicebomb with a soft creamy woodiness. Long lasting and quality fragrance.

Reminds me of both Spicebomb and Rehab. Very nice scent to be honest.

This smells like a Serge Lutens Chergui dupe....
