“Sensuel” opens not with the brisk and invigorating bitterness one expects of bergamot, but rather with a sweetness most unexpected — its tart edge cloaked beneath a dusting of powdered sugar, as if the fruit had been preserved in light rather than in zest. This unorthodox prelude, this gentle deceit of a citrus, delights the senses even as it confounds them. The heliotrope rises next, casting a soft powdery haze that unites the sugared opening with a tender accord of tonka and vanilla. Their union is one of warmth and languor — a sweetness touched by the Orient, irresistibly smooth and all‐encompassing. Yet it is the amber that reigns supreme here, for it is amber that transforms this fragrance into its namesake — Sensuel. The amber glows with golden translucence, airy yet suffused with an inner heat, like sunlight caught in Venetian glass. It binds the composition with the harmonious grace of Canova’s Three Graces, each note entwined in a delicate, eternal embrace. Sensuel opens with a very orchid-y combination of LOTV and heliotrope accompanied with a heady and boozy sweetness and a touch of citrus. Very intense, and bordering on tropical. The throw at this stage is incredibly strong, and lasts through the majority of the scent. As it begins the drydown, the LOTV burns away in the warmth of a potent but still cozy tonka-amber-vanilla. The vanilla has lost the booziness at this point and replaced it with a benzoin-like smoothness. Sometimes I can catch something like white amber here, maybe it is the vanilla combined with the musk? The heliotrope is still prominent, but has relaxed and allowed waxy petal and nutty almond tones to come through. Through the late drydown, I also get hints of what seems to be crunchy caramelized sugar, though I'm not sure where it is coming from. Far into the deep drydown, the basenotes dominate, with mostly a cozy and slightly papery vanilla-tonka combo.

Sensuel is a wonderful Heliotrope, Tonka, Vanilla, Amber, Patchouli-mix. Unisex towards feminine on my skin. Not a loud scent, but not skinclose neither. It dances around you for many hours, teasing and flirty, maybe not rawsexy, but Sensuel got IT. Sensuel är en underbar Helioptrop, Tonka, Vanilj, Amber, Patchouli-mix. Unisex men åt feminina hållet på min hud. Inte en högljudd doft, inte heller en hudnära. Den dansar runt dig länge, retfull och flirtig. Kanske inte råsexig men Sensuel har DET.

an overly discreet amber heliotrope with a touch of bergamot that gives it an air of Guerlain but without managing to make it memorable...it already disappears in the mass of vanilla perfumes.

As soon as I've read new the article about Lalique Cristal edition, I wanted this scent so much, that ordered it straight away in sample vials along with Tendre and Lumier in a form of Absolu De Parfum. Sensuel I've tried just a light application the first and loved it. So light, sophisticated, comforting. But it disappeared immediately. Next day I've applied in moderation to my wrists and a bit on hair. First minutes it was gorgeous, but very very soon it became simple heliotropine scent. It lasted from early morning till 7 pm until I washed it off in a shower. Conclusion-simple, linear heliotropine scent. Long lasting with poor projection. Will try to sell it as used vial on ebay. Today I'm testing Lumier and again the opening is gorgeous, but I'll what's going to be later. For me it smells orange blossom a lot (I might be wrong and its saffron+licorice+bitter almond)with some other ingredients which are stated in Fragrantica's description.This is my first experience with Lalique .
