Lancetti Homme

Simply amazing stuff. Fresh start with grapefruit and delicious tangerine is perfectly balanced with some basil, pink pepper and incense. If you are a fan of a fine scotch or bourbon don't be surprised if this fragrance is right up your alley and the reason is bourbon geranium that gives that overall boosey vibe to this composition. Incredible creation by Mark Buxton at the beginning of the millennium because he was playing with the combination of notes that would become famous some ten years later. And now the best part. With just half of the spray (yes, half!) you get 8+ hours of longevity and 4 hours of amazing projection! These little known Italian gems could easily beat more than half of the current designer offering. Not to mention how this blend smells naturally. Nothing synthetic in it. It smells niche, it smells high quality. One of those scents that you would reach when you are on the romantic dinner with your significant other or when you are walking on a cold, breezy night. It is calming, relaxing, romantic and maybe, just maybe more suitable for autumn or winter nights, but even in the spring or summer it could do wonders for you if you don't overuse it. If you have ever tried honey infused bourbon than you will easily recognize this smell. In the words of Bruce Springsteen ..."Well it's Saturday night, You're all dressed up in blue, I been watching you awhile, Maybe you been watching me to...", romantic crooner in a incredibly stylish bottle. Guys just go for it, for 20 bucks you can't go wrong. This fragrance is, Saturday night in a bottle, with a hint of bourbon to spice up the things a little bit;)

12 month, four season scent. Lancetti sets itself apart instantly with its Italian opening of Basil, tangerine, artemesia, and grapefruit. Artemesia is a note easily overdone (my Grandfather raised his own tomatoes, so I do not associate it with beautiful smells), but blended perfectly. The woody and balsam base is not heavy, but light in harmony with the labdanum and vanilla spice side of the scent. The notes look like they would be perfect for winter, and they are, but Lancetti Homme is not limited to a cold weather scent. It is perfect for spring and fall. I enjoy wearing it any day or night, unless temperatures are at the heights of summer, Lancetti Homme works perfectly. If you love vanilla scents, this will work. If you love amber scents, this will work even though amber is not listed. If you love spicy or incense, this will please you. Lancetti Homme is so well blended, no note dominates or really stands out. It presents as a complete note itself, and a very good one. Projection is moderate, and Longevity is average. There are two bottles. Lui Lancetti is the what some are reviewing, and Lancetti Homme is what is generally available on internet sites. I am reviewing Lancetti Homme. Lui Lancetti is subtly different, and I have attempted to find it, but it is a rare bird.

This is absolutely fantastic. It is like spraying on a smart suit and sunny disposition. The bright yet soft, sweet lemony Citrus, Leather and Incense that I get from this is just superb. The sprayer is a bit quirky and only dispenses a tiny dusting of scent but boy does it last. 5 sprays this morning and I can still smell it on me just as vividly 7 hours later. Different skin chemistry will dictate how this performs but this is a total winner on me so you know what I'm gonna get me another bottle of this in case it gets discontinued or 'discovered' and the price shoots up to £60+. You look at the note breakdown according to user votes and it is true it does have leathery, resinous quality to it but overall I can easily see this being an anytime, anywhere, any weather - more chypre than fougere - scent (although maybe fewer sprays in really hot weather). What a truly excellent find this turned out to be.

I am floored. This was a blind buy, which I seldom shy from, but this compulsion was well worth it. I am impressed with the refined quality, ingredients that are clearly of great quality, with the citrus and spices swirling in a foundation of resins and incense. Sweet, but not cloying. Smoky, but not stifling. In the heart, bourbon geranium interacts with it all and provides a green, rosy contrast (to the reviewer below, bourbon geranium is named as such not because it smells of bourbon, but due to its origin from Madagascar), while a delectable tolu balsam becomes more evident in the base with just a dash of vanilla. It is definitely a 'warm' fragrance, and really would shine in autumn. A true distinction among lesser known designer scents.

Lancetti is one of the fragrances that does everything exceptionally well. It is classy, but also has a casualness about it that makes it versatile. Playful and serious together. It is a sweet fragrance, but far from the typical cloying clubbing sugary bomb, it is the epitome of good taste. Sweetness here is balanced perfectly with a light leathery smokiness- not a macho leather note, but rather nuanced and delicate. It is light enough to wear even in warm climates while retaining that "warm" accord of vanilla/spices. Lancetti Homme is like beautifully constructed Italian dessert: decadent but never coma-inducing. What an amazing fragrance.
