Absolue Hot As Rose

Well named perfume, smells so captivating, elegant and alluring. You won’t forget the person wearing this. Longevity 48hr + on the blotter with strong projection. So powerful, a 100ml bottle would probably lasts a lifetime. Added to my wishlist for my extra special occasion perfume.

When I saw the pyramid, I expected to find another perfume of roses, the same Mary with a different hat but all the same style, right?:) And guess what? It's another Mary with another hat. I wouldn't describe it as a rose perfume, the rose has a secondary role, it's more the group of back vocals . In fact, the perfume does not have a main note, each of them participates equally, resulting in a harmonious olfactory melody. It's linear, it doesn't transform at all. But when he sat down and started beaming, I realized that something was bothering me: he seemed extremely familiar. After some time, i realise that it is very close, yes, very close to Red Cap aka Dolce & Gabbana Dolce & Gabbana. If D&G is a powerhouse in the style of the 90s, with matted hair, colorful makeup and baggy jackets, Lancome is a nicer, more niche version of the same fragrance, like a classic outfit in nude colors and minimalist jewelry. Without the old-fashioned aldehydes and without the bombastic carnation, as classy as it is, it stays in place for hours, feeling it with every movement. I give it a 9 out of 10 and recommend it to Red Cap lovers, but not only them.

Really quite faint rose scent. I get a touch of rosemary and green but thats about it. It’s a nice background noise rose if rose is usually too strong for you. This one you could wear in an office.

Reminds me of Rouge Trafalgar with a bit of a foresty/ piney vibe. Nice.

Hot as Rose, I must admit, the name influenced my perception. This scent opens up immediately with sweet rose, nicely framed with a spicy note. A note I first perceived as cinnamon, perhaps accompanied by a nicely restrained touch of chile pepper. But the notes don't suggest warm spices but rather 'warm herbs' of rosemary and thyme... Alright, I'll defer to the listed notes this time, ...but it's funny how, even now, the exact botanical identity of the spicy accord is difficult to pin down, especially since it is accompanied by some generalizing green element (currant?, buchu?) ...and the culinary distinctions between spices and herbs is a somewhat arbitrary cultural division, anyway. Later, a sweet-resinous base joins with the rose, partly replacing the Lamiaceaous herbs. Cypress is listed, and sweetly greeen conifer leaves are a likely part of the mix, though other unlisted notes (vanilla?) are also present. Overall, this is a lovely rose scent, both refined and innovative. I'm so happy to be able to smell it.

This is a very high pitched cassis bomb. It should be green colored, not pink. The rose is drowning in a pond of heavy green notes, mainly cassis and cypress, and something that smells like an offensive type of patchouli, is that the Buchu? I guess, I am noy familiar with that note. I do not enjoy this scent. The poor rose might be somewhere in this composition but I just don't perceive it. It sits low on the skin, it is a linear scent, the rose is not very noticeable unless you are talking about leaves and thorns? cause I do smell a bunch of unnecessary green notes here. I am glad I was able to sample it, but what a let down! I still want to try the other scents in this line but I am no as enthusiastic as I felt a few weeks ago. It seems they are charging niche prices for colored perfumes that are not different enough to justify the price, the ones I have sampled seemed to be generic dudes with colorful water.

Now this is a fun one. Although I usually shy away from highly aromatic scents or prominent blackcurrant bud, the composition softens those edges, creating a pine-tinged, forest-y aura that frames the rose with an intriguing warmth.

Its a warm juicy rose with greens, the greens dont make it fresh nor masculine. quite sexy for night time. gives me the vibes of oud isphahan without the oud and amber
