Absolue Oud Bouquet

Absolue Oud Bouquet opens like a dark rose dipped in molten gold. Not a fresh rose, not a pink rose - this is a lacquered, syrup‐soaked rose, warm and shadowed, glowing like amber held to candlelight. Then the praline rises. This is molten praline, thick and golden, slowly melting over the rose until the whole thing becomes a warm, resinous pool of velvet sweetness. The oud enters quietly - soft, warm, velvety. No sharp edges, no medicinal bite. Just a dark, smooth shadow wrapping around the praline‐rose heart like a velvet cloak. It deepens everything, giving the fragrance its nocturnal, sensual gravity. As it dries down, the amber and vanilla begin to glow like embers. The scent becomes warm, resinous, syrupy, golden, textured. It’s the first fragrance I’ve bought in a long time that feels truly hypnotic. It wakes when the sun goes down. It clings to the skin like molten amber lacquer, radiating a slow, sensual heat. Luxurious, intimate, deeply nocturnal - the kind of scent that turns heads without raising its voice. A 10/10 molten praline‐rose‐oud masterpiece that smells like velvet melting under candlelight. This fragrance absolutely reminds me of Shaghaf Oud. Both melt into a molten‐amber, resin‐rose, velvet‐oud glow on my skin, and that glow is home for me. My baseline is already molten, dense, resinous. While Lancôme is smoother and more polished, and Shaghaf’s rose is brighter and its oud louder, the shift doesn’t feel dramatic on my skin because my baseline is already intense. Shaghaf Oud opens louder; Oud Bouquet opens melted - but both settle into the same emotional zone for me: molten rose‐oud amber glow. My skin smooths out the differences. Naturally, Shaghaf Oud is not as smooth or molten, but Absolue retails for £230 and Shaghaf Oud is £22 - and the emotional destination is surprisingly close. Layering Shaghaf Oud with Alhambra Coral Blush adds the praline‐vanilla glow that Shaghaf lacks and smooths the edges beautifully. I am also waiting on FA Glorious Oud and Aromara Valencia, so we shall see. These will not replace Absolue, but echo its golden, resinous warmth in a way that feels immensely satisfying. I can’t justify £230 for a backup bottle of Absolue, and every fragrance I love eventually gets discontinued or reformulated - so feel the need for a backup plan.

I bought this as a treat for myself, a fragrance that doesn’t just sit on the skin but tells a story. Lancôme Absolue Oud is a luxurious composition where deep, oud meets just the right touch of sweetness, never cloying, never naive. Gorgeous praline opening with a sweet saffron note that dries down into a feminine musky oud. To be honest I can't really detect a rose note (maybe very faintly in the background). I often find ouds that are formulated by western designers to be overly woody and borderline masculine but I find this is very wearable, sophisticated and womanly without being sickly sweet. I do however think this is overpriced but I am still extremely tempted to buy the full bottle after purchasing a sample hehe

Absolue Oud Bouquet is my favorite from the new Lancome line "Absolue les parfums". It is a sweet and dense powerhouse, a well blend of oud, vanilla and spice notes (maybe saffron which is not listed here), with only a hint of rose in the backround. Luxurious and ultra modern. After spraying I detected an oily film on my skin so I'd recommend not to spray this perfume on clothes.

I really enjoy wearing it. Sweeter than the previous versions, which I love. Not much rose, which I love. Same slight, very wearable oud, now paired with more sweetness from praline. Strong, long lasting, exquisite.

This is beautiful. Much tamer than the previous versions of Oud Bouquet- those were unwearable to me. This is sweet and musky rather than pungent oud in your face and loud rose. This is more wearable and pleasant.

I applied the perfume and sniffed. Rose!, Oud!, Vanilla!, Leather? I didn't even look at the name on the vial. I only knew that it was a rose absolue from Lancome. Now, I read the vial: 'Oud Bouquet'. Three of the notes I detected are listed, and a sense of leather can often be an artifact of oud. ...and the vanilla is sweet, if they want to say it's part of 'pralines', I'll let them. So I feel redeemed, after smelling another scent in the collection (Hot as Rose), and letting the suggestive name influence my senses (olfactory and otherwise). So what do I think of Oud Bouquet? ...for the most part, I like it. Obviously rose ouds are a classic perfume combo with hundreds of examples to choose from. so I won't suggest anything superlative about this one, but it seems to be fairly refined and balanced. The distinctive vanilla makes this scent really a three-part lead. However, later in the drydown, it does seem to become too diffuse, almost as if there is a hollow space in the base notes that needs to be filled somehow. If the guaiac and copaiba are there, they must serve only as faint accents to the oud. Edit: As the drydown continues, the blend becomes pleasantly smokier. Now that might be the guaiacwood. Also I usually don't like smoke, but here it is balanced and nuanced very well.

I return with a comparison directly tested side-by-side. Shaghal Oud (Swiss Arabian) and Oud Bouquet (Lancome) are indeed nearly identical. If I must suggest a difference, it is that Oud Bouquet's note of rose may be stronger. Even this distinction is slight, I hesitated to even mention it. One additional caveat to this is my version from Lancome is the recent Absolue Oud Bouquet, which I have heard is marginally more floral than previous formulations. Also know, both perfumes are remarkably long-lasting, being persistent on skin and nearly eternal on fabric or blotter. For this reason, I recommend application to a scarf, hankerchief, or other article of clothing that can be conveniently removed when one desires an olfactory rest. Make no mistake, I find this fragrance wonderfully pleasant, ...but even the finest aroma may become wearisome when it outlasts its welcome.

To the person asking about availability in Canada it appears that Lancome isn’t carrying it on the site. I just found out that one of the scents I was looking for (Rose from the Dark) on the U.S. site is only available on the Canada site. 🤦🏼♀️ Why do they do these things? Anyway, sorry-not a review. I do have a sample set on the way from Lancome though & I’m looking forward to trying this Absolue line.

Yup. This is EXACTLY the same Oud Bouquet to me. Only now it's in a much worse bottle that feels cheap instead of the wonderful bottle from the previous one. So this is just a re-bottled Oud Bouquet in a worse bottle for a lot more money. The old one was at 210 euros, this one is at 270. You love to see it, good job Lancôme !

A smokey rose fragrance with a pleasent Oud background. I bought this for my wife recently, and I’m seriously thinking of getting one for myself. I keep smelling my hand every now and then. I don’t know why, but I compare it to Oud Ispahan, and I think this does a better job !!

so, is this supposed to be the 4th iteration of this scent? Is Lancôme ditching their Maison Lancôme line altogether? I love the 1st formula in the 75ml golden rose mosaic bottle, can't say for the 2nd gen (100ml flacon with 2 metal plaques), or 3rd (one plaque)

Available at selfridges and saw some influencers received this entire new line. Waiting on reviews but I hope it’s the best version of oud boquet. Crossing my fingers.

Hey Lancôme, please bring back Hypnôse Homme. Consider doing it like Guerlain with their Habit Rouge flankers.

Is this discontinued? I never see it on the Canadian lancome site.
