First of all i do not own Balafre original and haven't tested It, so i cannot pronounce myself about the resemblance with that one. Balafre Brun is very interesting, dark, heavy at first, and the first thing that comes to mind about it is wet leaves with aromatic woods touches. After one hour or so, this turns into Something more barbershop-eish. I really enjoy this type of 70's genre, i can name one fragrance that this is practically almost identical to...Oleg Cassini Reporter. Another comparison is with Sagamore from Lancome but just slightly. What am i trying to say is that Brun is not a unique fragrance, being somewhat a common scent for the 70's genre. The strange part with this one, is that It is not a heavy powerhouse, it is more subtle, and close to the wearer environment. This does not fill the room like the aformentioned Reporter, except maybe in the first half hour. This one though, gets a plus for creativity and the fact that It changes during its skin lifespan. All in all, this is definetly interesting, and If You like the 70's exces of oakmoss, leather and tobbaco sprinkled with levander and citruses, a very common scentprofile from that time, this is a strong option to consider....of course, If the price is decent.
