Climat Parfum Extrait

My interest in exploring and adding more vintage perfumes to my collection has intensified over the last few months. I remember when I smelled a first-year sample of Hermes Caleche and I was blown away by the captivating beauty of its aldehydes which modern formulations fail to capture, much to my chagrin. The original Climat Elixir offers a similar stunning, ultra-chic aldehyde-dominant profile, coupled with a deft use of narcissus, lily-of-the-valley, violet, and a handful of other notes to create an absolutely timeless feel. My heart quickens a little every time I smell it as I connect to classic perfume ingredients (many not used anymore, sadly) in a visceral and emotional way. I love it. I can see why authentic bottles of this discontinued treasure are so hard to find and so expensive. I paid a pittance for it-- a precious, full original bottle found in the back of a cluttered curio cabinet at an antique mall-- and will gladly add it to my rotation, though I imagine only wearing it for really special occasions as it is too precious!

Mother used to wear this always when she traveled in May to Vienna to visit her older sister, my aunt Therese, so for me this is an association to my chocolate gifts she would shower me with, on her return. It is etched deeply (and dearly) into my scent memory as a mum-travel-scent, but not mumsy. A big aldehydes bomb that has that narcissus/spring-type clean vibe about it, maybe retro but never boring IMHO...for me at least.

Beaufort, It’s not really underrated when you check eBay prices for the original Climat perfume 🤣🤣 it’s probably one of the most expensive fragrances per ml in the world 🤣

Ultimate time machine for me. My mom used it when I was a kid and I sneaked in and used it myself too. Brings me back to these years with no fail.

To me it smells like childhood. Mom young and beautiful, with long hair, coming back from tourney (she was ballerina). It smells very clean, tender and light, if I would have define its color. Elegant. Once mom said she'd love to have it again, I got her this new one and it was nothing like Climat from 70's or 80's I remember.
