Oranges Bigarades

A blind buy for me that I am not sure it was worth the money. Not because it's not gorgeous, but once the top notes go it becomes a quite close dupe to the Tea for Two by L'artisan perfumer. I am not talking about the old version, but the new reformulated one. I happen to love Tea for Two, and I own both versions, the difference is not that big but the new one is less sweet and less strong than the old version, much more transparent.. Orange Bigarades starts with a bust of orange and bergamot which, just like with any other citrus, doesn't last at all. Very sad and disappointing, considering the fragrance's name contains "oranges". Soon over a strong black Ceylon tea takes over, mixed with some orange blossom, hints of woody vanilla, and sweetened with a drop of amber. At this point the resemblance with Tea for Two is amazing. The perfume evolves with obvious tobacco notes, a honeyed tobacco, with very little smoke and ashy tones. I am surprised there is no tobacco listed in the notes. From then on the scent remains the same, the orange blossom is more evident, the silage is gone, it becomes a soft skin scent, and keeps getting weaker and weaker until it's gone. The projection is lacking oomph, and that is the part that bothers me most. It could easily be worn by a man too, a true unisex. Edit for the 3rd time: the dry down is amber floral, very refined, a warm musky amber mixed with neroli, much more feminine than the top and middle development. Is it gorgeous ? Absolutely! It is worth the $225 plus tax , which is close to $260 CAD? nope . Especially if you already own the Tea for two. Still, a very unusual offering from Lancome. I also own Roses Berberanza and Lavandes Trianon from this series. I adore the Lavandes, and I like the Roses. They are both much stronger and richer than this. I will keep it because it has charm, and it is extremely easy to wear. I am an ex smoker, I quit about 6 years ago, and tobacco fragrances tickle my senses in a romantic way, like a beloved memory of a lost lover.

I’m usually a sucker for orange scents and this is no exception. It’s beautiful, smooth, classy, and has a soft sweetness that is just addictive to me. At the same time, the black tea note keeps it fresh enough for hot weather. It lifts my mood effortlessly! Lasting power isn’t monstrous on me but I’m willing to touch up on this beauty throughout the day, plus it lasts on clothes much longer than skin! And how beautiful is the bottle?

This is similar to Neroli Outrenoir by Guerlain, but Oranges Bigarades performs better on me. Even though I like them both, I prefer this one since the tea note is more noticeable and the vanilla is not so overpowering like in the other one, plus I get more sweet orange here in the top and middle. The bottle is also gorgeous. I believe Maison Lancome has a few Grand Crus hits and this is one of them.

Reminiscent of Guerlain Orange Magnifica, but not a dupe, obvs. The orange is the same kind of orange, but this has the strong tea note. The sandalwood is I think what is making this v slightly creamy on me.. I have a half price 30m.. not sure I would want to spend a fortune on a 100ml off the website.. but it's very nice, if not stunning. Pretty bottle n box though.

A zesty black tea scent. Given my experience with tea scents, this one is surprisingly pleasant. I believe the vanilla has balanced out the bitterness of the tea note, which I like. The floral notes plays supporting role, let the freshness of tea shines, making it perfectly unisex.

Love, Love, Love this! It is my new summer obsession. I have always been a fan of tea fragrances. This is really a nice unisex scent for everyone. It is great for office use in the warmer months. I am getting tons of compliments.

I love an orange note and wanted something on the darker, bitter side of it. This has it, especially in combination with the black tea. Beautiful bottle too. Sadly discontinued.

I am nostalgic for this one and looking for another bottle. I have a full Jasmins Marzipane for trade if anyone has an extra!

I have a big weakness for any kind of orange note in perfumes, including orange blossom, so it comes as no surprise that I like Oranges Bigarades very much. It's a great example of the genre: a smooth, softly sweet, slightly powdery concoction of juicy bitter orange and fragrant orange blossom, very harmonious. The tea note is a nice touch as well, and it's unisex and as perfect for brightening up this winter day as I imagine it will be in summer. What's not to like? Well, the one issue I have with it is that I was hoping for something more than just a great example of a genre here. It's an expensive, exclusive perfume, and while it's wonderful, it's neither very original nor very complex, and longevity is almost as bad as with a cheap summer citrus scent. I think I prefer Neroli Outrenoir in this category - but like I said, this one's really lovely as well! I'll use up my decant with great pleasure, but I don't see a full bottle in my future.

Um...I've worn this three times now...and I really really want to love it because I love a good tea perfume. However, the drydown of this is just quite plain white floral that is almost quite generic almost leaning mature old lady scent. I am going to keep it for now...if it's just too plain jane the more I try it on I might have to reconsider whether I should keep it. EDIT (07/01/2021): I've been meaning to sell this and have listed it on eBay AUS. If anyone would like to buy it off me.

I have to say she entrails me. Initial blast: Sharp burst. Citrus, WITH The leaves. 2 seconds later this beeeeautiful creamy... Tonka? Vanilla? The Maison Lancôme DNA for sure. The dry down is rather... let’s just say it reminds me of when mY aunt used The restroom and exited. It’s The smell she left in there. I mean. She tried 🤷🏻♀️ . To her credit she was The “Glamorous” aunt. The one with feather fans and locking train cases. ALWAYS in perfume. And then... disappearance

A pretty expected opening, a mature floral at the top with citrus. The drydown shocked me, the vanilla comes out more than I expected it to. It's a fine fragrance, but since it's discontinued I don't think it's worth hunting down if you've never tried it before.

The bitter orange and black tea is the strongest combination of notes on my skin. I have slowly started to enjoy this less and it may purely have to do with the season. The bitterness is a bit dry and not quite as well rounded as I would wish. Lasting power for my full bottle is great, but I do wish my skin pulled out a bit more of the vanilla that others have mentioned below. Like, but on the fence.

This was a blind buy fail. just doesn't work with my skin. It makes me slightly nauseous. I can't pinpoint the note that is responsible for that. Grateful I only bought a 30ml bottle. Still searching for the perfect scent to layer it with to make it more wearable for me. I really enjoy satsuma from the body shop, just that it's not long lasting at all. May try layering the 2 and see how it turns out.

This is alright. It’s a pretty, dainty, zesty, citrusy, slightly pepper-y scent but it isn’t anything earth shattering. The tea note is fainter than faint and the longevity on this is very poor (at least on my skin) no more than 30 minutes... Glad I got a sample, it’s worth a try but not full bottle worthy for me.

What an absolutely stunning fragrance. Bright orange, orange blossom, jasmine, and vanilla. Orange scents can easily turn candy like, but this one is blended so beautifully and harmoniously. It feels refined and sophisticated rather than sweet and cloying. The vanilla softens the composition and adds a gentle creaminess without making it overly sweet. The result is immensely elegant and luxurious. There’s something almost sparkling and ethereal about it. light, radiant, clean and a little fairy-like. While anyone can wear anything, to my nose this leans more feminine. This fragrance really shines through during spring and summer, but to me orange is also associated to Christmas, so i find myself enjoying it during December as well This fragrance also brings me many compliments. I was lucky enough to find a backup today at a great price. It’s such a shame that it’s discontinued, as it’s truly one of my all time favorites.

The opening was initially a blast of masculine-leaning citrus. Over time, it slowly developed and reminded me of a bit of Bvlgari's Green & Blue Tea together, but with a stronger, earthier black tea base and some added mint due to the black pepper note creating this mentholated sharpness. The drydown gets powdery, floral and citrussy. It's "nice", but I'm not wowed by it. Honestly I was hoping for something more as it doesn't offer anything new (to me anyway, in terms of tea scents) nor is it exceptional. It also sits rather close to the skin like Iris Dragees does, but I would get the other Grand Crus white caps Iris Dragees or Santal Kardamom over this. If you like Bulgari's tea line, you'll probably like this one as well.

I love this..this smells like a refined Alien..beautiful natural citrus and citrus peels mixed with a smooth sweet jasmine. Not metallic or sharp at all. This was a surprise for me that I actually like as I thought Oranges Bigarades was going to turn into another direction based on other reviews. Definitely try this fragrance as I believe it is not very offensive at all, but well done and enjoyable.

This is a fantastic fragrance. Oranges, florals, tea and sandalwood. The best tea fragrance I've tested. I am also a huge fan of Santal Kardamon from this line. From this line you could wear: Oranges Bigarades for Spring & Summer Santal Kardamon for Fall & Winter You would be covered and smell amazing year round.

I tried it at the airport last year - 1 small spray on my wrist. At first, I was happy to find a cheaper clone of Memo's Winter Palace, but then this little spritz kept getting stronger and stronger and more and more suffocating (ambroxan?), and even made me anxious about being kicked off the plane for this.

March 2020 I guess I was the only one who smells powdery rubber in the drydown?? I dont know which combo of notes is causing it to smell like that but it's pretty strong. The smooth orrange/citrus opening is nice but misleading. I dont find it linear at all.

Strong early gray tea, tons of bitter orange essential oils, petitgrain, benzoin. A little touch of vanilla. Slightly masculine in the beginning and more unisex in the drydown. Very elegant. I would love to have a full bottle. Maybe will need to hunt one...

A non-offensive soft scent, I enjoy it a lot when it's spray on the paper, tea is more prominent, on the skin it becomes too powdery for my liking. I like this more than Jasmin Matzipane, which is more powdery and having an old-fashioned cosmetic vibe.

Wow one of the most beautiful, smooth black tea scents I’ve smelled in quite a while. Also, I sometimes feel like orange smells too much of potpourri but this doesn’t at all. Quite elegant and impressive from Maison Lancome.

Bright zesty scent with a lot of white floral notes: orange blossoms, neroli, jasmine. The base is nice and musky. It’s a bit too floral for my taste by the scent itself is quite lovely. My ig: scent.guide
