Rose Peonia

Very special. Starts out as a classic rose scent, happily without geranium (!) unlike Dior's Rose n' rose, but with a similar reference group/vibe of a rosy floral that can be found in many classic body products (soaps, lotions, talcum powders, etc) which I happen to love. But then, something quite extrordinary happens after a couple of hours; Hermes Un jardin en Mediterranee. How can this be?! I had been wearing Rose Peonia for a couple of days and for the life of me I couldn't figure out where I had smelled the surprising drydown, until it hit me: Un jardin en Mediterranee. Almost exactly the same drydown. I so wish I had taken my chemistry lessons a bit more seriously to understand that side of perfumery a bit better - there have been some great articles on Fragrantica that explain our scent experience through this lense - but I cannot name the base elements that these two fragrances share, unfortunately. But the experince is real! Although both scents have such a different starting point: Rose Peonia a floral, Jardin en mediterranee an aromatic, they close with the same note(s). Jardin en Mediterranee is my favourite of the Jardin series - I have a 100ml bottle of it, but only minis of the others, and am quite happy this way - so to have a beautiful fresh rose-floral start and to end up with a Jardin en Mediterranee drydown is quite fine with me. The bottle is a gem and I cannot be but very, very, _very_ disappointed to hear about the new Absolus series, that I've read has a _sticker_ as a label... but with a price increase from the previous Maison Lancome series... The newest from the Maison line (Rose peonia, Jasimin d'eau, I think even Figues agrumes) have been/still are on sale on certain sites, so if you love the bottles, get your favourite while they are quite resonably priced - obviously the gorgeuous metal plaques are gone for ever... A treasure for keeps.

I have to disagree with some of the earlier reviews of this perfume. Rose Peonia smell nothing like Delina. I cant find any note that I associate with roses in Delina... Delina feels much more like its a dupe of Miss Dior(2017), or maybe Miss Dior is a dupe of Delina. Rose Peonia on the other hand have a rich real rose note which you can also find in Lancomes "Mille Et Une Roses" and Flower Knows "Daydream Rose", but here its accompanied by the watery Peony and the pink pepper. Its lasting power might not be great but it holds longer than half an hour for sure. I love this perfume, its close to the sort of rose perfume I wanted, but I have to admit that its not easy to wear due to the rose pepper. At first I barely noticed the pepper but later my brain started homing in on it for some reason and it just started to feel too spicy.

I tried this yesterday... OMG I have Delina, and there is no comparisons. This fragrance is the definition of clean linen, and so sexy at the same time. This is how I want to smell fresh, clean, sexy, like it is from my body, my clothes not from my perfume. To me this is an everyday perfume, cuz it has that clean vibe and does smell more like you than a perfume.

Nice, smells like Delina mixed with Lust in paradise. A tart, more mature rose. Perhaps a little underwhelming considering the price.

A rose that is non cloying and easy to wear. It has the freshness of a garden. A shame its discontinued

So it took me sometime to think how to describe the fragrance. First of all it reminds me of both Pivoines Printemps by Maison Lancome and Magnolia Rosae. There is some dna that all three share together, I think its whatever they use for Rose is in most of Maison Lancomes fragrances that have rose note. Rose Penia is my favorite from three. When I smell the fragrance it makes me think of slightly green pink fresh rose petals, juicy and fresh with dew drops. I believe Peony adds slight sweetness to the fragrance. Overall fragrance is blended very good and hard to pick by notes listed. Drys down a bit sweeter and a bit powdery but yet still very fresh. Its giving me cold brewed black tea vibes. The fragrance is very nice, privet line designer quality like but not unique, it does remind me of quit few other fragrances like Givenchy Rose Ardante that is a bit more sweet and bit more powdery that Rose Peonia, Blouse is YSL that has overdose of Abroxan to make last long. La Colle Noire is more grassy and a bit more sour, a bit mossy, when I smell them side by side Rose Peonia smells sweeter and even slightly powdery, theyre quite different. Delina vibes? Yes definitely, but Delina is still the best, much more complex. I think Peony plays a big role in this fragrance. The performance is good especially if over sprayed. Ill come back to update my review after i wear it for sometime. A little Update: After it was sitting in the paper for a little I agree it does have similarities to Mille et Une Roses, again I think its the Lancomes rose they use.

Rose Peonia by Lancome...l bought this because l was a little nostalgic for the smell of the peonies my dad grew in bushes next to my house. At first l did think Delina La Rosee, then the longer l sat with it, the dry down was incredibly familiar. It is watery and a little soapy. The natural flower smells started to become very realistic, Awww, this fragrance becomes so similar to Chelsea Flowers by Bond No. 9. I was surprised how close. I was not expecting that at all. In the dry down, the natural flower effect comes forward and becomes dominant. I like it very much but l paid a deep discounted Ebay price. I have seen prices for well over $100. She is lovely and it is fresh flowers. But l don't know if l had known l could re-create this by layering La Rosee and Chelsea Flowers ( l already have) i would have bought it. But the price was super super discounted. At this point, l am rambling, if you can find it online for the same price l paid then go for it. I liked it do l like for $140, hmmm, may be not.

This is a beautiful jammy rose that reminds me of the Stella McCartney one. The raspberry-rose combo is nothing new but Lancome made it so voluptuous and sexy. The raspberry here is not your typical sweet juvenile candied raspberry, instead it's this slow-simmered raspberry jam infused with wine. There's something boozy and intoxicating about it. She is seductive, she is mysterious, she is femme fatale!

Absolutely lovely and something so delicious about it. Like sticking your nose directly into a peony. The pepper is so slight, just enough to keep it anchored to not waft away because it’s a watery and airy smell, not in a bad way. Perfect sunny spring day. It is not a heavy powdery rose or jammy rose to my nose, it’s soft but strong peony. I’m happy to have it added in my collection.

The opening smells just like Marijuana. Not the smoke from Marijuana but the actual plant buds, sticky and mouthwatering. Don't ask how I know. After a few seconds the Peony starts to shine through with just a hint of rose. Unlike Holy Peony by CD, Rose Peonia had a depth and quality that is unmatched. It's a very interesting, gorgeous, well put together fragrance.

Rose Peonia is yet another rose based offering, which, spolier alert, smells very similar to others in the line. As another review pointed out below, Rose Peonia has similarities to both Pivoines Printemps and Magnolia Rosae. Pivoines has a hint of sweetness but is mostly fresh and a little soapy, with a more prominent almost watery peony note compared to the accompanying rose note whereas Rose Peonia is heavier on the rose. The rose is sweeter like it is in Magnolia Rosae but compared to Magnolia Rosae, Rose Peonia is lighter and fresher, but less than Pivoines so it's scent profile is somewhere in the middle. Overall, I find Rose Peonia to be the least remarkable of the three, with less than average performance. Lancome has showcased some gorgeous rose fragrances in this more exclusive line but at this point, each new offering has failed to create something unique that evokes excitement. Rose Peonia is a pleasant scent but quite frankly, redundant and therefore, not worth it, in my opinion.

This is similar to Delina. Softer, not as sharp but very similar to Delina. A fruity musky rose. I don't detect peony here and I smell them often. The raspberry is quite strong for me here. I have peonies in my garden and several different varieties. Smell is subjective. Everyone smells fragrances differently. I find other fragrances that I already own give me more of a true peony smell. This is pretty but I was expecting more.

Fresh watery rose with some tea elements which makes it a little too mature for some of my younger friends. But I’m in my 30s and feel nice wearing it.

I had high hopes for this one, even had someone bring it to me from Paris because it is not available in the U.S. and while it is a pretty yet generic peony perfume while it last, it has absolutely the worst projection and longevity for this price point. I know my bottle is legitimate and even considered it was me that was the problem with either being nose blind or my skin. Nope, nobody can smell this perfume after 30 min and this is not an exaggeration. I even sprayed it on a couple of different people to make sure it is not me. Nope, same results with their skin as well. I am hoping it was just my bottle that was a bad batch. I don't expect it to last days or even a normal workday but 30 minutes is not okay. Needless to say, with a generic peony, "you have definitely smelled this before", non compliment gathering, perfume that lasted half an hour at best based on my own personal experience, I will never purchase again. I feel slapped in the face with the price of some perfumes and their performance these days especially after reformulations and cheap ingredients over quality. I understand some perfumes had to be reformulated due to regulations but I am talking about perfumes that were cheapened and watered down long before those changes took place (looking at you J'adore). Now my rant is over. My advice is to test this first before buying a full bottle because it is not cheap and offers no magical swoon worthy moments to justify the performance. Sorry for the negativity, but this is the place to share experiences and personal interpretations on perfumes so we can gather an idea about a perfume for those that love fragrances.

Am underwhelmed. I bought a decant entirely because of the Rose Peonia name. There is an old rose called Rose Paeonia which I grow in my garden (see photo of one not grown by me on helpmefind.com/roses). So I was curious if Lancome's addition to the multitude of rose perfumes would be a lush old rose scent. No indeed. When they list "watery notes," they mean it. It's all watery notes. No lush opening, no visions of warm rose and peony blossoms jockeying for position, just a little frothy floral scent that could be from anything. It was barely noticeable on my skin right away, even after I sprayed my wrists again. Really an immediate skin scent, and is still one less than 4 hours later. They spent all their money on the bottle and hopefully generously paid the obviously creative person who designed it.

A big miss for me! For some reason I get a massive awful rubber note. Incredible performance however.

One of the very few expensive things I've blind bought. Blind buying this kind of thing is less of a gamble than Vegas because at least you can sell it on again. & it was off Ebay so not full price anyhow. I actually watched a few Youtubes about this one, as there's not a lot of reviews on here n Lancome website reviews tend to just say 'lovely' with little detail. A woman with I think an Essex accent, did an 'unboxing'. Maybe I'll do youtubes one day where I rebox stuff up that was dreadful haha. She unwrapped it in a crazed grinning fashion, wide eyed with excitement & wonder, sitting in front of her silver (!) bedroom with a bed that looked like she nicked it from Versailles. She is very good at adding graphics to her vids though, little stars sparkle forth n explode which add to the general princessy vibe she gives off. I recall she mentioned turkish delight, at which point I was sold. And it totally is turkish delight, a fruity kind of rose, a hint of strawberry jelly but like the best most expensive kind. This smells pretty & sparkly & good, like your fairy godmother should. Or it's nearly too nice. This is the smell of what Edmund ate in Narnia (I know I've used that elsewhere recently, sorry I get stuck on metaphors, but it's too useful here) it's really beautiful. Long suffering ex husband, who mostly rolls eyes or just says 'yeah it smells', gingerly sniffed the back of my hand then actually was moved to sniff a second time. "I like that!" he said, for once with feeling. Yes I do like that." Wow. This stuff must actually be made by The White Witch, it's just magical. Or Aslan. It's very very good anyway. I've never tried Delina but if it's the same as this then it must be marvellous as well.

So, if you enjoy Holy Peony, La Colle Noir, Roses and Roses all by Dior. . . You'll most likely love this. Not as green and watery as La Colle Noir, and not as heavy and opaque in its Peony focus as Holy Peony. It opens with a vibrant fizzy uplifting fruity Rosey-ness (almost like a pink strawberry). So pretty! The freshness isn't green, it's more about the dewy fresh fruits. The Rose in here is very silky. . Very Turkish Delight jelly. . But it's lifted by the wet fruits. The Peony is present of course, and it brings its dryer qualities (a hint shampooy) but fresh and light. There's a token of 'Delina' within the heart of it. The scent smells as pink as the liquid. For such a fresh fruity rosey scent, it does have a good wear. It's not a skin scent, it does linger around me, and creates a delicate silky pink trail. I already own Holy Peony, and I'm not sure i need both in terms of practicality, but as a collector, their not identical. Holy Peony has a heavier feel, and not as delicate and pretty. . Which do I prefer? It's a debate I'm having with myself! I'll let you know which I keep! *update. . I kept both* . . Well why not.

This one is a beautiful, classic rose and peony scent. Its more comparable to Aqua di Parma Peonia nobile than to Delina og , but it doesn’t feel oily (like rose and peony oils) in comparison to Peonia Nobile. Lancome rosa peonia is quite crisp, more like Peonia Nobile hairmist. Now adressing the comparison to Delina ( i have tried only Delina og ) these are quite different scents also for different occasions in my opinion - Delina is more modern and versatile, Lancome is quite classic and a bit mature. Also Lancome doesn‘t have a prominent musc, that‘s in Delina...

Pretty, familiar, soft everyday rose scent with a faint powdered candied/cosmetic quality and DNA similar to L'EAU D'ISSEY. I can see the comparison to Delina, but it’s not like Delina at all. This is definitely a rose forward fragrance (hence the name) but the rose is playful and a bit juvenile in a cute and fun way. Think the fragrance tinctures that came with dolls, or in makeup/dress up sets in the 80s. I found Rose Peonia, Magnolia Rosae, and Figues & Agrumes online recently and Rose Peonia is definitely my favorite of the three.

This is a very fresh, musky rose fragrance that is almost slightly turning green, -almost. The rasberry is tart, adding to the musky touch, rather than adding much sweetness. While it is a subtle fragrance, it’s unique in my collection. It doesn’t have the peppery and dry aspect of Pivoines Printemps, even though there is a pepper note, nor does it have the huge projection of magnolia rosae. It has some similar aspects to Delina la rosée especially the watery note. Longevity and sillage are moderate!

Well I will not run to get that one...it is a charming rose peony combination, the raspberry gives it a nice juicy edge, and if you love florals, this is pretty, and it projects nicely...still quite overpriced for what it is...just not worth the price tag in my opinion..Kenzo has a nice peony scent that smells maybe nicer..so honestly, this doesn’t waow me, neither is it a bad scent..for the price, it should be a lot more exciting.

This smells exactly like Delina, I almost thought the company sent me the wrong sample. I'm shocked it is literally a dupe. Edit: I love this, yes it is still so similar to Delina but Delina can be suffocating and make me feel a little nauseous, this does not and lasts forever. Unfortunately nowhere to be found in USA, anyone wanting to seel a bottle PM me :)

Just got a sample, so this is very much first impressions but I really like it! I find the previous two reviews to be quite accurate and far more eloquent than what I want to add :) Just came here to add that to my nose this smells a lot like a fancy strawberry/rose jello :) Hopefully it will be available for purchase in the US soon!!

Sour, higher pitched rose. It’s definitely got that pink pepper that raises the whole profile. This part of it with the raspberry reminds me of Sorce’s Light Through the Clouds. It’s pretty, soft, “feminine”, and sweet, but this level of pink pepper just isn’t very me. It’s also nothing standout, pretty generic spin of rose.

This needs some getting used to and may be misunderstood. At first I was kinda dissatisfied but this fragrance literally grew on me. Smells like a mix of roses and tobacco. Quite unique I must say and now, I can’t live without it.
