Tresor Elixir

If Samsara had an optimistic daughter, that would be Dolce Vita. At its opposite is Tresor, a brooding and dark peach concoction. I feel that its ubiquity had tarnished its reputation, making it available for people who search for lesser art. Despite the compote-quality, Sophia had managed to lend the heaviness an airy quality to which some refer to as mint or the uncanny smell when lilac is allied with Grosjman’s fruit accord. There’s also a grittiness to it that to me feels as if I can rub between my thumb and index, a sort of granulated sugar unable to meld with the liquid due to its viscosity. On the other hand, rose, violets and muguets shine. The bitterness which one finds in Diorissimo can be gleaned here, a jammy rose and that wistful violet: the duet of which we originally found with Sophia’s Paris. There’s also a touch of leather I smell here. It’s complex and is more than the term maternal which people attribute it with. Reminds me of Monica Belucci in her prime.

I have both EauDP and ElixirDP: they are very similar, but EauDP has a bit more silage. Tresor Elixir is a wonderful mix of peaches-violet-sandalwood with just a touch of honey. This particular concentration stays close to your body, like a perfume would, I guess. Great for any time of the day: day or night. In my opinion, it opens better showing its complexity and warmth in the summer.

While I really like the original Tresor, I'd never consider buying it - it was my 9th grade art teacher's signature scent, and on me, that scent just turns into "somebody else's perfume". You know, when you associate a scent so much with another person that when you wear it, it feels like you dressed up as them for Halloween. But the Elixir is a very good modern-day adaptation of this 1990's icon. The sweet peach is still dominant, but over all it's fresher, less complex (or less messy, if you like), more straightforward and a lot less dated. I'm happy to have found a version of Tresor that I can wear without feeling like I'm wearing a stone-washed denim mini skirt. (I did get an A in art, though.)

Tresor Elixir is beautiful, bottle with bulb atomiser and all. Yes, it is almost identical to the EDP, but having owned the extrait version of Tresor and the Absolu and Absolu Desir versions I would say that is has similarities with all those perfumes. In fact, the EDP and Elixir are more peachy, Absolu has leather, Absolu Desir Rose marmalade accord and the extrait is a more potent EDP. I highly recommendTresor Elixir to lovers of the original, it's pretty and feminine with a retro aura about it that makes it irresistibly cute, plus it looks lovely on a dresser!

My friend from work gave this little number to me for she did not like it.I have it on now and it is a peach dominant scent, soft and very pretty kind of perfume. One would wear at a garden tea party.
