Tresor (original)

I have a vintage mini dab on bottle of pure parfum concentration. Extremely sweet. The opening reminds me so much of Lanvin Arpege. There's a delicious peach in the top note that lingers. A sweet somewhat light citrusy but mostly peach opening. Bright and delicate, feminine, and spring like, romantic. The florals are right under the peach. The rose and peach combo are still reminding me of Arpege. When it becomes Tresor and it's own perfume is the mid to dry stage. The florals are in a blender of jammy syrupy sweetness. I detect orange blossom, rose, jasmine, violet, lilac and heliotrope. That violet makes it powdery and cosmetic style. The make up in a handbag scent. Very grown up and womanly but definitely a powder and make up thing going on. As such it smells casual and good for wearing in the office at work or anywhere at any time of the year. It is just womanly. Does not seem to want to be sexy or mysterious. It's a day time smell like a woman, a mom, kind of scent. The whole thing is cozy and gets warm as the dry down begins, like a hug or a pretty scarf. The drier stages are all amber, some soft resins, sandalwood and musk. I also detected some vanilla in there. I feel the big players at the dry down are amber and sandalwood. The musk is there giving it a warm feel. This is a beautiful jewel of a scent. It makes me think of 1950's housewives looking pretty in make up and floral pattern dresses but not going out to be formal and elegant, just wearing pretty dresses for female only company at Tupperware parties or garden tea parties. Simple and sweet. This has been reformulated more than once - the 1990s and 2000s and neither of those reformulations holds a candle to the beauty of this scent. It's jammy honeyed florals, it's soft spicy, woodsy, musky and amber gorgeousness. The vintages are super hard to find but they sell some miniature dab on bottles on ebay that are quite good. The 90's reformulation might be better than the latest one.

I have this exact one. It belonged to my mom, I think she received it as a gift in the early to mid 1960s. It is pretty strong, and not even close to the modern one. Has a “youth dew” vibe to it.

Wow, I wish I could have this. The packaging is stunning.
