Cacique

My sister gifted this to me while she was shopping Lane Bryant and was offered a discount. She bought for herself as well, and quickly fell in love. I am falling as well. First of all, the purple colour of the juice threw me for a loop. I know it`s meant to be sexy per the bottle graphics and pertains to Cacique - a lingerie line - but first initial spritz took me by surprise because in my mind, I expected a smokey oriental, a sweet body spray type scent, or violets and sugar, which this is none of these at all. What I do get is Sex. It has a very - IMO - animalic tendency , a modern vintage vibe - reminds me in a way of Boudior , and Petale Noir . The musk must be very down `n dirty. The gardenia and tuberose are very well blended. I do not have either one screeching over the other, in fact, it they are not loud at all. It does not even seem the least bit tropical to me, even with the gardenia and frangipini. The mandarin is pretty mellow. I wouldn`t call this immensely fruity. I scaled the projection and longevity as moderate... but at times it can be soft and close to my skin, and then rise and make itself pleasantly seductive. Edit : I got it now why it smells so vintage to me. I was at a baby shower, and suddenly I thought I caught a whiff of the hairspray I used that day - Mink Difference - my grandmother use to use it, and I buy it out of nostalgia and because of the way it smells- reminds me of 'old' cosmetics, powder, and lipstick. I was like " mmm my hairspray ". My sister said she just had sprayed her wrists, so I sniffed, and sure enough it was the Cacique perfume I smelled.

Rich heavy hitter white floral, reminds me a bit of Madonna's Truth or Dare, it's on the sweet side, not dry. An attractive fragrance, I get the tuberose the most. Not an "Easter Sunday" smelling white floral (no lily), on the tropical side but not what I would call beachy. Good for a southern Cali afternoon.
