Premier Figuier Extreme

Premier Figuier Extreme is a slightly stronger and sweeter version of the original one. It has less fig and green accords and more milk and coconut. While the beginning is green and leafy, it lasts very shortly. I don't really know what almond milk is, but I do get some sweet variation of almond, but only in traces - it is completely overwhelmed with smooth milky coconut accord. Until the fragrance totally loses its strength it's impossible not to detect coco. However, later it becomes a part of soft, sweet drydown with sandalwood and dried fruits. Given the name of the perfume I expected something resembling Philosykos. And while I don't know which one I prefer, if you want a fig scent, go with Diptyque creation - the only fig I sensed in PFE is in the heart and drydown, but is dried, not fresh fig, and only surrounds coconut whereas in Diptyque's one coconut surrounds fig - at least in my experience. What I don't like about this one is its projection - it literally has no sillage, though it lasts a solid six or seven hours on my skin. If I took this one as a meant-to-be skin scent, I'd go with a higher mark. However, as I expect a perfume of this quality to project at least a bit, 8/10. PS: Don't take this 'for women' label on Fragrantica as a given, it can be, and should be worn by anybody(although I think anything can be worn by anybody), there's absolutely nothing in this one that screams feminine.

This has rapidly become my signature scent, which as a 5 year long devotee of Jo Malone's Pomegranate Noir is a huge surprise. The opening is green, grass and fresh earth green, metallic almost - not a note I usually enjoy in the slightest, but it somehow works here, perhaps because it lasts so fleetingly? The initial vegetal blast is soon overwhelmed by a sweet, milky coconut which is surprisingly fresh and clean (hovering on the edge of soapy). After about 15 mins the warm sandalwood mixes with the coconut and the dry down begins, leaving me with a woody slightly sweet, creamy skin scent that endures for 4 to 5 hours. No longevity issues for me with this one. The moderate silage gives this a presence, but it doesn't overpower. I wear this to work and in a Hospital environment anything too huge would be inappropriate. There is something elusive and even "old fashioned" about this fragrance, perhaps its the sandalwood? It reminds me of something my grandmother wore in the 70's, but pleasantly, don't be put off by this, it isn't an "old" perfume, just for something with Extreme in the name, its very restrained and refined. A total winner, I just wish it was half the price (but then what don't we wish was half the price?).

There was a good 30-60 seconds of pure dirt for me the first time I sprayed this. As in iron rich soil, almost metallic. This quickly went away and I was left with a green yet dry, smooth, warm rich scent. Just wonderful. Stays close to my skin and is very mild. I wore this to work today, and I work in a hospital so I can't get away with much drama from my daytime fragrance. Something struck me in the dry down. This is a fragrance for people who like cats. Not that it smells like cats, but it has the personality of one. After 2 hours it was no longer available to me on demand, I would raise my wrist and inhale and get . . . Nothing, but then I would be minding my own business and a burst of fragrance would pop up and say hello, only to run and hide from me again. Luckily for me I'm a total cat lady. Edit to add: this is quickly becoming my go to fragrance! I wear it to work, out to dinner etc. it feels like the full bottle lasts longer than my tester, perhaps a dab vs spray effect? I just love is one so much.

I love to wear fig scents at home. I know it sounds strange, but I'm not keen on smelling like figs around other people, though I find the scent really relaxing and pleasant on my skin. My one-and-only fig scent purchase thus far is Diptyque's Philosykos - which I will wear out of the house only after layering it with Tam Dao because the figgy creaminess offsets the Tam Dao's sandalwood beautifully. Just dabbed on Premier Figuier Extreme from a sample vial. Right off the bat I get fig and coconut, which is a yummy combination. This fig is a warm gourmandy fruit in contrast to Philosykos' comparatively cool, clean fig. The sandalwood eases in as it dries down - gives it spice without drowning out the figness. The inclusion of the sandalwood sexes it up a bit, making it possibly worth of out-of-the-house wear without needing to layer it Very feminine and pretty, slightly heady. Nice sillage. Will need to try again, but more than likely I will buy a bottle once I run out of Philosykos.

This fragrance is so bitter and green from the actual leaf, I don't smell the actual fruit but it has a mild sweetness towards the end which is either sandalwood or the coconut I'm not too sure. This is my first L'artisan fragrance and I'm somewhat disappointed, the longevity is THE worst! This brand isn't cheap and I can't believe it only stays on my skin for 30minutes. It has better longevity on my clothes but it feels more like a body mist than an EDP. I've even asked others to smell my wrists and they said they can't smell anything. I can't imagine what the original is like if this only lasts for 30 min.. I'll be using this fragrance a lot since I do like the scent but eesh, I don't think I'd repurchase.. Fingers crossed others from this house last longer! Edit: I think I tried this on a colder day, today it was about 25-27C and while it's still a skin scent it stayed around 3 hours until all I got was an interesting coconut scent. It's quite unique and a beautiful scent.

I have worn Premier Figuier Extreme and Premier Figuier on and off for more than 12 years. Like many L'Artisan perfumes, there's really nothing extreme about it, this doesn't last long nor does it project... but still, I enjoy it. The extreme version is more tropical to my nose, with a stronger coconut note. It feels creamier and sexier to me. It's a personal scent because of how close it stays to the skin. I get another reviewer's comment when she said it has a calming effect as I sometimes wear it to bed. It's a fig-coconut milk blast then 20 minutes later the sandalwood comes in and it stays pretty linear until it fades, about 3-4 hours later. Premier Figuier Extreme skews feminine. These days you can find L'Artisan in the on-line bargain bins, so it's a fun one to pick up for the collection.

Who knew that I'd fall for a fig scent when I hadn't even tasted the thing then. I like the pureness and herbal vibe of the scent. This smells like a beautiful kitchen garden and just draws images of grass and crispness without bitterness, even something forest-like comes to mind as I'm a Finn and greenness always reminds me of forests. With this fragrance I have to say go extreme or go home as the regular version dissapointed me with lasting power. Extreme version will give you your moneys worth. This scent doesn't resemble anything from the regular stores where I usually try on scents. This is unique, not masculine or feminine, just neutral, herbal joy from mother nature.

Quite possibly the best thing I have ever smelled. I just love it. I first smelled its brother - the classic Premier Figuer, and I remember how surprised I was from the fact it smells like a completly realistic fig leaf! Although I liked it, I felt it was a bit too grassy and sharp for me, so I decided to try the "Extreme" version. I was in awe. This is a fig! Its the sweet flesh, and the milky smelling outer, and the green leaves. The creaminess is enhanced with the addition of coconut and sandalwood. There's something manly about it, so although it is (moderatly) sweet I think men could pull it off just as well. In 3 words, this perfume would be: Figgy; Green; Creamy

I was able to experience the original version and fell in love though after a couple hours the smell was quite flat on my skin. It was nice but not as interesting as the opening and I felt it was lacking depth. They did not have Extreme at this particular shop but after looking into it and reading the added notes I knew this was for me and bought it blindly. What a treat! I’m thrilled with this version and know I’ve made the right choice for my chemistry. The extreme version is a bit more sophisticated where as the original is lovely but smells younger and more green. Honestly they are both dreamy but the coconut in the Extreme is what I keep coming back to.

Color me extremely surprised when my sample came in. For all my beautiful babes from the South who had to use Pink Oil Moisturizer growing up, this smells JUST like it. It has brought so many memories of sitting in my aunt’s kitchen getting my hair ready for Easter Sunday the next morning. My mom and grandma laying out mine and my sister’s outfits. White stocking, patent leather shoes and a good meal cooking for the next day. I’m purchasing a bottle just because of the memories.

Really dry on me. Dry sandalwood, dry fig, dry almond shell..One of the best dry perfumes out there. Smells like a very hot summer day far-far from the sea. I like the bitter oily beginning of it (coconut milk note most probably) and the woody-powdery dry down. Works better in warmer months. edit: it opens out completely differently when it's cold! The fig and coconut become creamy and aromatic, the dried fruit get juicier. Lush

This is one of the very few woody aromatic fragrances I've come across that I enjoy wearing. Fig notes are prominent for the first hour or so and then the coconut notes begin to kick in...also something else, I can't put my finger on it, maybe plum? Not too strong or too timid either, for me it's just right when you don't want to smell overbearing. Great for being in small spaces, like an office or at a movie.

One of my favourite figs because of the coconut and sandalwood. It's warmer, woodier and more powdery than the original or Philosykos (which is also one I love). It lasts longer as well (with rather discreet sillage). If you want a really green and fresh fig, this is probably not the one but if you want a comforting, woody and creamy fig, this might be it. Olivia Giacobetti is one of the best to ever do it.

Green and milky at the same time, like an unripe fig. Soft and creamy, inoffensive scent but oh so feminine and unique. Just a tiny hint of sweetness in the background. Mouthwateringly amazing. Scent for the lazy days. You can see from the incoherence that I love it, yet find it hard to describe. To me, it smells nothing like Philosykos, except they both fall into the general cathegory of green and milky.

If you like fig, you have to have this in your Collection (and Phylosykos). In fact, you need both :) Extreme Figue sits very well, for a green scent, it stays easily 7 hours. This is IMPRESSIVE. The scent itself is creamy, green, Mediterranean fig leaf. The scent for casual occasions, the scent of lazy weekends, the scent of visiting your mom, so comforting and hugs-attracting.

Definitely a leafy/woody fig scent. The sweet added on, balance it but it doesn't stand a chance. If you want the sweet side of the fig than go with Womanity, another of my favorite...just the right amount of the fruit. Jane Packer: Fig Sandalwood Amber is very similar. Both long lasting, as everything they do. They don't go for the usual... reaching deep memories

This is my best find so far- I bought the limited edition bottle for only 40 GBP without even smelling it before. I absolutely adore the scent, but the bottle is a real gem on my dressing table. It;s true that the staying power is not the strongest, but on me its base actually stays sometimes (depending on the phase of the cycle ;-) nearly 24 hours.

AMAZING! Sandlewood and fig leaf hit you right away, almost masculine, but it settles and warms up into a coconut lovers dream! The drydown is creamy coconut milk, woods, and spice. It hovers on the edge of being masculine but never EVER gets there, thank goodness. This is fantastic! Unlike anything I have ever tried before.

Sweeter and more 'tropical' vibe than premier figuier, as the coconut plays a large role here, with realistic fresh fig and greenery. I closed my eyes and was transported. This fragrance is a must-have for my collection.

Coconuts and figs! Despite this fruit combination, I actually love wearing this in the winter so that its a litle fresher. Its creamier than it is green.

Just WONDERFUL like the warm shade of a hot summer holiday at the sea side under a fig tree and it's beautiful marriage with creamy coconut.

I had a very strange experience with Premier Figuier Extreme when I first bought it. It was a blind buy because I have a history of loving figs so much and I wanted to smell just like Christina Hendricks from Mad Men. Premier Figuier is one of those scents that smells completely different when first sprayed from the bottle. To be honest, it smelled like a pickle. Of course I was completely devastated, because I had just dropped 120 big ones on this baby, but never fear, people that are interested in this perfume, this is a somewhat positive review! As time passed and the fragrance dried down, it did indeed turn into that green milky slightly sweet scent everyone is describing. I can definitely smell the coconut milk note, but it is not overwhelming. Overall, this is definitely a leafy scent. However, it was also shockingly elegant and mature. Definitely not a perfume for someone who loves sweet things, even if you are a fig fan. Another thing that surprised me about this perfume is how long it ended up lasting. From all the reviews, I expected this to be gone in a poof like Dyptique's Philosykos. It ended lasting for almost 8 hours on my skin. It sat close to the skin, but my friends could smell it when they were close to me. In other reviewers' defense, I find it very hard to get rid of any scent without showering, so there might be something wrong (or right) with my skin. For someone like me with a sensitive nose, this scent can be quite nauseating if not applied delicately. If you put too much on, that pickle note sticks around, and I doubt anyone wants to go around smelling like Dill. But hey, if you do, more power to you.

Premier Figuier Extrême is what the name suggests: a very woody fig. I have never smelled a fig tree as a whole, but I can imagine this is more or less what it smells like: very natural, dominated by milky fig leaf and a general woody vibe. I don't get much coconut, it's present and lends more milkiness to the fragrance, but on me it remains in the background. That's contrary to the experience of other members, since it's the highest voted note, but woody notes do tend to dominate fruitier notes on my skin. I like it like this, anyway, it's not the obnoxious suntan lotion/overly sweet dessert kind of coconut I've come to dread in perfumes, but the natural, subtle, milky kind. So I do like this, but I don't think I need a whole bottle of it, because I like so many fig scents already. In that series, this one is between Philosykos (natural with a bit of coconut) and Un Jardin En Méditerranée (woody). I wouldn't say no to a decant, though, because it is unique and very well done. I think this is very much unisex, by the way, maybe even leaning a bit more to the masculine than the feminine side, so I'm a bit puzzled by the "for women". I'm curious to try the none-"extreme" version to see how it compares!

For me they key to understanding (and ultimately loving) this fragrance was to get that its focus is on the woods, not the fruit. I sort of expected, looking at the notes, juicy fig, coconut and green leaves. What I got was far from it, hence the initial disappointment, But the more I wore it, the more I got to discover it and I really warmed up to it, to the point where I can't imagine my summer without it now. The clue is in the fragrance's name- figuier is the fig tree. And it is primarily a woody scent. At first I get a nice, warm blast of woody notes- definitely sandalwood and what I think must be fig tree- I never smelled fig tree before, so only basing my impressions on the fact that sandalwood here smells different than the pure sandalwood I know. This is quite a dry fragrance, I do not get much juice from the figs or coconut; it smells like warm wood, out in the sun for a few hours, with almond shavings and fresh, green leaves. Very refreshing and uplifting. There is just a touch of sweetness coming from the fig. As it develops, it becomes more airy and floury, kind of making me think of my beloved Bois Farine, with which it shared DNA despite different noses working on it.

Premier Figuier Extreme by L`Artisan Parfumeur was initially a disappointment because all I could smell was the lactonic sandalwood found in Bios Farine. The coconut-covered fig was screaming for help and the whole thing was becoming a little mushy; it just didn’t lift off the skin the way I imagined it would. It is true--PFE is lacking acidity and I can’t detect a fluttering floral note to save my life. I think that the problem is that after smelling the bombastic Technicolor creature known as Womanity, I expected the fig to punch me in the face and take over my soul. Unfortunately, I am not able to wear Womanity because the salty aquatic note turns into terrible cheese on my skin. So, as a fig lover, I am happy to wear PFE because it smells good and gives me a fig fix—it’s just a soft, sweet oriental that wears close to the skin, not a woody aromatic that leaves a bright green trail. This makes me wonder about where the true innovation lies. Is it with the original 1994 PF or with the 2010 creature known as Womanity? Like it or not, Womanity is a memorable experience while PF seems understated and almost meek. 3.5/5

Not at all what I was expecting, which was the delicious green, honey-like scent of fresh figs. Whatever figs may be in this scent have been dried out so long that they have developed a waxy consistency, and are mixed in with coconut and dried coconut fiber to form a brick that's meant to be used for potting plant seedlings or scrubbing oneself in the shower. Remove the woody fiber and it could be eaten as a health food bar. In fact, I think maybe there's a Larabar made with dried figs, dates and coconut that smells a lot like this. You have to eat it fast, though, because there's a soapy smell that comes in after the first 20 minutes or so. Don't get me wrong, it's not an objectionable smell, it's just not what the name promised to me. Now that I've renamed it "Savon Noix de Coco", I might even wear it occasionally until my sample is gone. That's what I love about perfume sampling - you never know what to expect.

This is a nice fragrance. There is some serious calmness in this combination of fig, creamy almonds and sandalwood. I would not call it green, and would not call it "light", at least not in the summery way. This is my third serious testing. In summer, when the first two testings occured, the coconut and sweet notes dragged Premiere Figuiere Extreme dangerously close to beachy territory (and I'm not fond of that at all), and the aromatic side was pretty hidden. Now, on a rainy autumn day (it's about 15 C outside), it presents its mildly aromatic creamy-woody face, tender and calm, with pronounced fig and sandalwood. Refined. I could wear it, on the days like this, both in my private time, and in the office. Noted as a candidate for a FB. *Like *Silage: moderate - arms lenght in first hour, after that remains close to skin (L'Artisan... oh, well....) *longevity: moderate + (up to 6 hours)

I bought this after being disappointed by Philosykos' short-livedness, and premier figuier had a deeper complexity to it, but as an EDT was too light. This one manages to maintain that slightly bitter greenness that I loved in the original. However it feels much more floral to me, despite no flowery notes listed, and it loses that fresh, bitter burst of the EDT when you first spray it on. Overall it feels older, more elegant perhaps, but it is very different from the original. Sadly, though it lasts longer, the dry down is underwhelming, and verges on soapy, as another reviewer said. I don't get coconut or the promised creaminess at all. It's pretty, and has a lovely floatiness to it, but I am still biased to the EDT that I first fell in love with.

Bought this as a deal in an attempt to get the-harder-to-find-at-a-good-price Philosykos off my wishlist. No such luck--they are completely different takes on fig. I agree with the reviewers who get mostly sandalwood from this, and that it's very soft. If I do the olfactory version of squinting I get fig, but I'm sad there isn't more of it. Philosykos is like traversing a humid tropical jungle, and PFE is like reaching the shore of that jungle: the greenery is off in the distance and you have the scent of tree bark lingering on you, but it's barely there. If you want subtle sandalwood and dry, powdery coconut, try this. Skip it if what you really want is fig.

A touch of leathery green leaf at the beginning which was disappointingly fleeting, then coconut and sandalwood surface rather quickly. The dried fruit here doesn't work for me, kind of like fruits that have been sitting in the bulk buy bin too long and have lost their flavor and freshness. It's not bad, just not really noticeable in combination with the rest of the notes. The drydown is sweetened coconut cream and rich wood... and not a whole lot of fig. Pleasant enough though with good sillage and longevity, but not incredibly exciting. I like Dyptique Philosykos much better.

It's summer, you are in Sicily. The day is warming up but it is not too hot yet, you are walking to one of the small bars for your morning espresso, on the way there you are walking past people gardens planted with luxurious fig trees. You are looking at one of the trees which has a violet fig variety which ripens later in the summer, you rip one fruit off, the sticky white milk is fresh and pungent, the fig is not ripe yet. Beautiful perfume, green and milky, but short lived.

This is a much more fruity version of Philosykos. Philosykos is the woody plant, while this has more fruit. It isnt fruity in a feminine type. kind of generic non sweet fruit in the distance. I do not get anything really sweet. I would say on me it wears coconut, woody, non sweet fruit. I think Philoskykos is a great candle and this is a great perfume. Not a sexy perfume, a perfume for weekends out. In a car exploring, going on walks, an outside brunch.

Overall, Premier Figuier Extrême is reminescent of its original EDT version. The extrême edition is more intense and more creamy. I find the sweet part is more amped up, especially the coconut comparing to the original version, though it never really becomes cloying. The sillage is still close, but the longevity is around 7 hours. A more tenacious and creamier version for those who find Premier Figuier too tranparent.

Just tested this one and can't keep my nose off my wrist. Amazingly beautiful scent. Reminds me of Bronze Goddess only better. I am having a hard time typing as my wrist is glued to my nose. I have never owned this brand and well now I think I am sold. Only thing stopping me is I feel it's more of a spring/summer scent but wow... just wow! The only drawback here is lasting power. It's a fader unfortunately on me.

It's nice and I do like it. But I prefer Philosykos. The do smell alike in some aspects but Philosykos is definitely fresher and more green and truly does replicate figs on a fig tree, while Premier Figuier is sweeter and the coconut really shines through. If you're looking at this as a substitute for Philosykos, test it first.

Just a classical fig. There's fig "flesh", fig leaves and even fig milk. Very decent fragrance but... nothing extraordinary. Don't expect any "WOWs", it won't take you high. However if you want to find a FIGGY fig - this is it! :) Overall rate: 6/10

I would say its nice...I still have my bottle...used to last drop..ok I left 4 ...I am surprised I used it last summer...I will stay loyal to Timbuktu. This is my man. :)

The heaviest fig fragrance I’ve yet tried. I enjoy it, but am not doing backflips to re-sniff, either.

Premier Figuier Extreme opens with a fig-and-coconut brightness that is, for a few brief minutes, genuinely delicious. Green in a living, sap-touched way, yet glossed with just enough nectar to make the fruit feel lush. This lovely first impression of freshness really captivated me here: fig leaves still breathing in the heat, pale coconut flesh, that almost aqueous gleam of split fruit before the air begins to take it from you. Abruptly, the perfume turns. Within ten minutes all juiciness collapses inward and what rises in its place is dryness, a full warm gust of it. Dry sandalwood, tree shavings, and soft spice. It smells less like fruit now than rough bark, sun-struck branches, and the fibrous underside of the summer scape. The sandalwood here is not creamy or milky or satin-smooth; it is much more powdery-sandy than the familiar sandalwood in my beloved VCA Santal Blanc. There is a parched quality to it that feels almost mineral, as though left under a white-hot sky until all moisture has burnt off. That, really, is the character of it for me: a fig scent emptied of succulence and translated into warm wood, almond shavings, stale leaves, and sun. The coconut does not read as cream or water or any of the lush, tropical comforts one might hope for. It is coconut in the form of husks and shavings. Halfway through I sometimes too catch an oddly sweaty sweetness at the edges, something slightly overripe, perhaps the illusion of cinnamon or clove. I would not say I love it. But it does possess a certain austere beauty. It captures not the leafy milkiness or luscious sap of fig, but its desiccation. Just imagine the tree after noon, the fruit dried of juice, the grove when the sun has turned all that is full of life into souvenirs. So as long as one is not expecting a verdant, lactonic fig, there is something quietly compelling here. It is a fig tree, once juicy and green now rendered pale and dry under summer’s hand.

I accidentally bought the extreme version instead of the regular one. The extreme is drenched in synthetic sandalwood which is a note I very much dislike. Yuck. There will be someone out there who will find this one their cup of tea but I prefer my fig fresh and brightly. No sandalwood please.

I like EDT better. This one has fig only for 2 minutes. It has a hint of almons milk and then turns to musky scent quickly.

the SA reccomanded me this one instead of Diptique's Philosykos,it because this one seems to be stronger..im gonna give my sample a try :-) it does smells similair though! just a bit more fig and coconut ( wich i never though i'd like) so far it smells delicious and is very suitable for summer guess pasage d' enfer has to wait for a while edit: i like it very much! strength can't compete to passage d enfer but i don't care, its not too light so thats a good point, can't wait for my bottle to arrive ^_^

I got fig and coconut for the first few minutes, it wasn't as green as I'd hoped but nice... Then sandalwood, more sandalwood, and nothing but sandalwood. I'm really not a fan of that note, so it's a pass for me. Just beware if you're looking for a fresh, green fig fragrance with a touch of coconut, this isn't it. This is really woody.

I was a bit disappointed, for I was longing to smell of figs and coconut. However, on me, all I got were notes of sandal and almond skin. When I first sprayed it, I got a bit of fig leaf though, but that lasted for like 30 seconds maybe.

Sweet Fig 50% + Warm Spicy 30% + Wood 20% It's a heavier and warmer fig scent compares to Diptyque Philosykos... not the best representation of the green summer fig tree.
