OK first up, my bottle arrived leaking. Not a great start, as a bit of a collector, there was juice already staining the very elaborate inside packaging. Luckily the box is unnecessarily bulky, & with a bit of plumber's tape, I managed to stop the leak mostly as long as I store it standing upright. I definitely wouldn't be packing this in any of my travel luggage, unless I want everything smelling really really good... Yes, this smells really good. If you put this sauce in a Xerjoff bottle, you'd buy a 50ml bottle for $400 easy. This is coming from a huge Xerjoff fan! The quality of this juice is amazing. I'm writing this after about 14hrs of wear, which includes a KFC lunch, & 2hrs out in 32c heat washing busses under the Australian summer sun, & almost another hour driving home in the rush hour traffic. I can still smell this radiating off my skin, & this is considering I've probably gone quite nose blind to it already. But if I brush my fingers across my neck, it's like a bloody scratch & sniff. Performance is simply 10/10. I've got jackets weeks old that still have this smell lingering around the collar. It's a damn good smell too, you know what? Maybe I will pack my leaky bottle into my travel luggage if I ever not want to wear a different scent every day of my holidays... Right, the smell. I almost bought Perseus by Parfums De Marly. That bright grapefruit would be perfect for the blazing summers here. However, besides being grossly overpriced, there is something also a bit unrelenting about the citrus punch that it gives. Terre D'Hermes Eau Givree is also another beautiful woody citrus fragrance, but the performance on that one is just quite weak. Perhaps better suited for cool summer evenings rather than scorching hot long days. This Art of Wood by Lattafa though, adds a creamy dimension to the scent. That vanilla & rose really balances out the sharpness of the citrus, carrying a bit of undertones of YSL's Tuxedo (or a less smoky Moustache EDP). This is somewhat gourmand, like a lemon curd with whipped cream & crumbed biscuits, a bit like Lira by Xerjoff, but less musky caramel. I don't know if you can tell, but I do love this fragrance. I just wish my bottle wasn't leaking. For the $50ish price tag though, it's a no brainer.

I think it is necessary to point out with complete justice that the Lattafa house has made a quality leap in this Pride line worthy of highlighting, and in this one they twisted my arm without hesitation. This proposal allows the vast majority of perfume lovers to get a scent very close to Marly's Perseus for a modest price between $40 and $60, without meaning to say that it matches it in quality, but with a very good development. I declare myself a fan of the Marly house and I must declare that when making a 1 to 1 comparison with Perseus, it has a vanilla twist, which makes it a charming all-round scent, not only for the wearer, but for others, especially women, that twist is magical. It's taking that bright grapefruit with spices and woods and making it an elegant, yet sexy-manly, spicy citrus...I find myself smelling myself all day long, because it lasts over 9 hours and projects. They achieved a winning mix here and I admit with my knees on the ground that I like it more than my Perseus de Marly. I don't understand the comparisons with Terre de Hermes Parfum...this is a dull perfume on par with this one, mind you I have it and I love it, but nothing like it in projection, duration and citrus brightness. In conclusion, if you are a lover of spicy woody citrus with a prominent grapefruit throughout the life of the perfume...well this is one of those that is worth trying on skin, put it on and let it evolve...I would definitely do it before deciding to buy Perseus...Tremendous value for money. Picked this up at a Burlington for 30$- I was in a "I'm going to buy something" mood, so this was a total blind buy. Gave it a few test sprays and let it mature for a month prior to actually wearing. Initial sprays-imagine that feeling you get when you eat a lemon Jolly Rancher. That tart taste that makes you salivate and gives your tongue a physical reaction. Now add some deep rose into the mix. It's a really odd combination but it works and I couldn't stop sniffing it. As it dries down, the vanilla comes forward while the citrus fades away. The rose maintains that thick feeling. It doesn't feel floral, it feels solid, if that makes sense at all. Substantial. The oakmoss and vetiver are there as players too, but I am experiencing a vanilla/rose duet for the most part. Performance is right on par with what one would expect from a Lattafa pride, with slightly better than moderate projection and longevity. Bear in mind that I do not like rose centered fragrances. Every other one that I have ends up in the 'never going to wear this again, will get rid of it someday' shelf of my display. But this one? It's complex, it's unique, and I cannot stop jamming my nose into my shirt. Really digging this one.

I really enjoy this fragrance. This will quite possibly become a signature fragrance for me. I smelled Perseus at Dillard's recently and enjoyed it. I can say that to me Art of Wood smells overall smoother. Perseus, to me, had more of a rind-like, sour smell. Art of Wood has more of a smooth, sweet (not gourmand) grapefruit smell. The best way I can describe the smell of this is that it smells like very expensive cedar wood that has been polished with a sweet vanilla grapefruit polish. It smells expensive and it is high quality. I doubt anyone would believe I only spent $30 on this. I see that many people complain of the rose smell. I get zero rose at all. I personally only smell sweet citrusy wood. If you enjoy grapefruit scents, you will most likely love this. I would consider this a year round scent, but I think it will work best in spring, summer, and fall. The longevity seems to be really good with moderate sillage I believe. This isn't a "sexy" scent but a very clean, fresh, expensive smelling scent. Very versatile. I would wear to the office, casual outings, errands, etc. Easy daily wear. Definitely a solid buy.

Nose Note #374 Very similar to Lattafa Nasheet, but a it smells less like a lemon pie and more like a creamy citrus, but honestly I expected something else like Terre d'Hermes Eau Givree which I have and it smells NOTHING like it. It's basically Lattafa Nasheet. If you had it you will understand. Not a 100% summer scent. It's very strong and rather thick. A very interesting scent, sure. And I may even like it more than Nasheet, but damn, feels like PdM just clones Nishane Ani and then Lattafa got looped... Maybe Perseus is very different, I don't know. I thought it was going to be much fresher. Upd. 08.08.25: some time has passed and it became less like Nasheet and more juicy in the citruses. Now that's a wow! 8.5/10, really creamy and woody citruses UPD 16.05.26: I grew to like it even more. This is just great. Amazing longevity. Things that I picked up on previously that I thought were negative have dissipated for me, I just like everything about it now, so: 9/10

Another slam dunk from Lataffa's Pride collection. A brilliant complex blend, a symphony of depth. Some reviews say that it is not a safe blind buy, but I would say that if you like citrus, grapefruit bergamot top notes, you will love this one. At first spray this comes on strong, perhaps too sharp for some noses, but after about 30 minutes, it transforms into the gentler toned down notes of powdery vanilla, cedarwood, vetiver and oakmoss, however the bergamot note still props up the scent like a stake, keeping it from drooping over time. And speaking of time, AOW is a pleasant beast, especially when sprayed on clothing, it will continue to remind you of its presence all day long. If you are a cannabis connoisseur, AOW will remind you of some citrus-y sativa strains. I think I'll get another bottle as a back up, just in case they discontinue it.

I picked this up as part of the Lattafa mini sampler set. This opens with citrus, spices, and pepper. Then enters a bit of patchouli (ani don’t smell the rose). Eventually the sophisticated wood smells and moss smells become more evident. Vanilla is at the base, and is not very obvious. I am looking forward to seeing what it matures into after time out. I honestly thought it might be too cloying for summer, and might be one to gift my husband, but I really like it, and can see it being quite lovely. I’m glad Lattafa put it in the Pride mini set, because it is expanding my preferences of what I like (fragrance-wise).

box wrap was very cool. Initial spray and i already knew this was the most unique fragrance Ive smelt. Very nice grapefruit and pepper but has a very nice touch of vanilla and rose and oak moss you can really smell to not make it such a basic grapefruit freshy fragrance. I haven't seen to to much about this fragrance, but i can easily say im very happy with the purchase. Deserves more hype and is so unique, projects pretty well and lasts a good while. Only way you wont love this is if you don't like grapefruit, its not overpowering but you can for sure smell it.

I feel lied to. This stuff is great! This is one of those that the bandwagon of YouTube influencers pushed me away from trying. It wasn't until I got the Lattafa mini gift set, which includes this one and four other offerings, that I decided to try it. Maybe I lucked out or they were exaggerating the opening, but I've had it for two days and I love it! It smells delicious. In the air, it smells like an orange creamsicle or orange gelato. If I didn't already have too many fragrances, I'd buy a full bottle, but I'm sure that this 20ml mini will do just fine.

It's so sour that it's nasty. Why do I love it so much? It's pungent to the point you pucker when you smell it. Blasts you with grapefruit and cedar then gets a little softer with some vanilla. I don't pick up the rose at all. I usually wear this to bed or around the house. I'm always afraid someone might mistake this as BO so I never wear it to work. I can understand why some people don't like it but it's probably my favorite Lataffa cologne. Not a safe blind buy.

So when I first sprayed it, I thought what the heck is this?! But the longer I've been wearing it the more I love it. It's nothing like I had smelt B4. Woody, zesty, lemonade. I imagine it's perfectly suited for spring/ summer but I enjoy wearing it now in fall - both home after shower and @ work. For 22 Euros it's a no brainer if u r into trying sth new. And I agree with the comment below - it does smell like ganja 😁

This was my first oud fragrance ever. I was very skeptical but this is so intoxicating. The oud is very loud and strong. The citrus has a quick short life but soon you get this strong depth of vetiver, oud and more oud. It reminds me of opening an old wooded chest. Its definitely an evening scent. I am hoping it will mature beautifully by Christmas

I love this fragrance and it’s become my signature fragrance, I get a lot of compliments from this when I wear it in to the office. Only thing I will say is you can’t smell the rose that some people say is strong in this fragrance, I smell more the grapefruit , bergamot, vanilla and oak moss , cedar wood mostly.

I thought it smelled a little bit funky when I first got this, but I don't get that at all now and I find myself wearing it a lot. Lovely grapefruit with woods and creamy vanilla, not very sweet which I love. It's fairly dense so I'd say it's best for autumn and spring. Very strong performance for me. 8.5/10

Opens with a blast of citrus followed by the most gorgeous sweet woody vanilla rose, the woods here are pretty dry. The drydown is the most delicious lemon vanilla dessert. This is just so lovely and unique, blended well without any harsh edges right out of the box. Moderate longevity. Love.

I tried this yesterday for the first time after ordering a bottle. By the scent profile, I was pretty sure I would like it, and it didn't disappoint. It's such an easy-to-wear, uplifting scent. Longevity is very good, 8-10+ hours with strong to moderate sillage.

I live in Arizona where the temps get pretty high. This goes on smooth, very creamy musk with Vanilla that makes your mouth water. Excellent summer fragrance. Had people pass by me they would say "Oohh , somone smells good!" Highly recommend 👌🏽

Imagine birch sap as a niche fragrance. Art of Wood is natural smelling and nuanced, both formal and fresh, special yet still pleasant enough to be an office scent. A memorable, refined unisex one that I actually love from the first sniff.

I am shocked how much I like this scent. This leans masculine, but I am thoroughly impressed. This is peppery, citrusy, and finishes with the earthy, woody, and mossy. This was a win as part of the Lattafa mini set.

Insane good - the type of fragrance that makes you start liking fresh and citrus scents : because there is no ugly awful lockerroom ambrox-bleach-chlorine-spermatozoid note.

This banger is one of the staples in my summer weekly rotation I feel lucky to have found this at Burlington when I did. I will definitely buy bottles of this for life!

Initially didn’t like it much the opening was too sharp but now it smells like a beautifully balanced citrus rose woody fragrance. Definitely recommend it!

This is great for male users, especially older users who like the classic aromatic fougere formula and appreciate a modern twist on it. Female users may find it too masculine due to the fougere notes. This is great for warmer weather and outdoor activities. Presentation is standard with the Lattafa Pride line. I don't care for the wasteful double box presentation which I feel is unnecessary. Performance is average, so feel free to overspray on first applying and respray throughout the day. Recommended.

This stuff opens with a VERY strong grapefruit smell with something that to my nose is akin to some pungent grass, tbh legit intolerable the first 15 mins or so, I understand why people say "rose", this grapefruit / grass mix is reminiscent of rose scents and it's even in the notes breakdown but I wouldn't go as far to say that it dominates the scent. Then it transitions to something way way better, I honestly can't stop sniffing my arm, strong grapefruit still with a lot of vetiver (your mileage may vary, I am very sensitive to the smell of vetiver in fragrances, probably in nature too) but way smoother and gentler (without losing potency), it's potentially signature scent worthy, I see nothing wrong wearing this in winter. Performance is above average. It has only a passing resemblance to Terre d'Hermes, not a clone whatsoever.

If this is supposed to be a clone of PDM Perseus then it's not the best one as it's not very close. However, if you look at the fragrance on it's own, it's actually great. Especially with that price tag. To me it smells like a mix of Perseus and Terre D'Hermes Eau Intense Vetiver. The citrusy side is leaning towards perseus but the woody vetiver and pepper remind me more of Terre D'Hermes. Then on top of that mix you get some vanilla which is kind of similar to the tonka bean in Perseus but it's sweeter and more intense. Overall very pleasant fragrance, unisex and great for literally any occasion. Probably best in summer but the strong vanilla makes it work pretty well in cold seasons too. If you like sweet citrusy fragrances and you can find it for ~30 bucks, just go ahead and buy it.

I have never smelled Perseus so I can't speak on how close they are but I really think this scent is underrated. Being a citrus fragrance I expected it to be very fresh but this is very sweet and has a lot of vanilla, making it pretty powdery combined with the rose. This is not a good fragrance to wear in the heat, it gets very cloying and is meant for indoors or in the cold. There's a good amount of woods to this fragrance but not nearly enough to be called "art of wood", it's much more citrusy and sweet than it is woody. This would be a good date night fragrance or cold weather fragrance, it reminds me of a dressed up orange creamcicle with lemon and wood. TLDR: Orange creamcicle with hints of florals and wood, best for cool weather.

This is not your typical mass-appealing fragrance and it leans niche and refined. After five months of maceration, the scent has matured beautifully, revealing a smooth and elegant character. It’s unmistakably a clone of Parfums de Marly Perseus, and Lattafa has done an impressive job capturing that DNA at a fraction of the price. Performance is solid, and the composition feels classy and well-structured. Definitely a fragrance for a gentleman who appreciates sophistication over trends. For the price, this is a great purchase, and yes and I would buy it again without hesitation.

This really shines on the dry down. When I first sprayed it, I got pure sour grapefruit that was so disgusting it sent chills down my spine. I told myself there’s no way this gets any good. But when it dried down, oh man did it get good. You get that strong cedar wood, patchouli, and a slight rose as well as a slight vanilla sweetness. If you built a room inside a massive cedar wood tree, I think this is what it would smell like. Sweet, vanilla, creamy, sage, patchouli. The initial spray was harsh, but it really dried down to something very solid.

A quick update on my review, it's really strong, I wore it last evening to a grill party and the next day it was super strong on my clothes, I took a shower and put another fragrance on and my GF still could only smell Art Of Wood on my shirt from the day before (I was at a friend's place so I took a shower but had no change of clothes with me), beware. Btw, she hates it, says it smells like "rotten citruses".

Similar to Perseus from PDM. However, drydown on my skin has a note that I perceive to be a rose - which is not what I was expecting. Perseus is much more citrus-oriented, even in dry down. It is long lasting and has a strong sillage. LE: After some time sitting on the shelve, the vanilla has been ramped up making a bit too sweet for over 25C degrees. Still a beast mode scent.

Don’t let the bad reviews below me detour you from trying this out. Straight citrus with little sweetness. I live in the Caribbean where summer is the only season and this totally works, maybe not for the beach or sweaty situations but it’s a good office scent. This would be Terre D’hermes + liquid brun/althair, you can sort of recreate this DNA layering those two.

Very nice unisex fragrance for those who don't like sweet perfumes. I wouldn't say it's long-lasting tho, I would like it to be more stable. Requires 4-5 sprays. But for this money pretty decent. Smells like citrusy-grapfruty cedar forest. I don't smell a rose here, but it's not needed. Recommended to try, for sure.

I get: Pastry-like dense powdery vanilla Dark round orange zest accord Subtle herbal leafy green accord (remeniscent of oregano, crushed pepper and dark green leaves) Subtle spicy creamy warm woods Smells like a heavily spiced dark citrus merengue pie to me.

I enjoyed the scent but just doesn't project on me at all became a skin scent too quickly so I gave it to my wife.

Wow The scent of cedarwood lasted after I showered and even into the next day.

A good scent for the price that introduces a different take on the standard citric freshies, opens up with bergamot (a little subdued grapefruit as well) that comes across as "cool" rather than bright if anything, with an ever so slight zing of pink pepper. BUT what really dominates the entire scent profile is the dammed ROSE that just grows more and more as you pass that opening. The entire mid is just dominated by rose that just relentely pumps off till the base and is further potentiated by vanilla giving the overall scent a sweet milky rose sherbet-esque quality, almost pushing the scent into gourmand territory. The earthy undertones of patchouli and vetiver do seem faintly evident but they do very little to shine amidst the rose dominance. I am honestly surprised that not many people have pointed this out already. Performance and versatility is seriously great; this thing is almost beastly and projects very strong for a few hours, its been a long time I had felt the need to scrub off a scent (i dislike rose) and even after showering I could easily smell the damn thing quite clearly for the next few hours. So, if you plan to buy this without testing, MAKE SURE YOU LOVE ROSE as a perfume note, I personally am super happy I decided to try this as I would have regretted a bottle. It is not bad for sure, and its probably a great option for someone who wants a different take on usual airy citric fragrances and like the incusion of rose in the scent DNA, but for others - you have been warned.

Smells like Perseus had a baby with an orange creamsicle. For some reason it’s ridiculously creamy and instead of grapefruit I get a very sweet orange scent, almost like an orange creamsicle. I’m lucky enough to have a 2 ml sample of Perseus and this does have a vague reminder of it, but it’s more sweet and creamier than the original. Not bad, but not what I was expecting. Perseus also has a beautiful cashmere dry down which is not present in this; instead, the dry down reminds me more of TDH far into its dry down. The vetiver accompanying the orange creates a similar vibe; but unlike TDH it’s not a dirty orange but once again, a creamier and clean orange. Edit: I didn’t realize vanilla was listed as a note in here, that explains a lot.

Wow, lots of vetiver. Reminds me a lot of encre noir. I hope that with maceration/oxydation, the citrus will become more prominent cause a.t.m. its mostly a vetiver bomb to me... I do get more citrus on a scent strip then on my skin tho. It was very affordable (25euro) for a lattafa out of their pride line. Ok, the citrus is very creamy with the vanilla... This is also pretty cloying. Update: after months off maceration/oxydatiion, the citrus are more prominent. I start to like it more.

My nose especially picks up on the rose and vanilla. Rose tends to stick for a long time, in my nose and on my skin. Good quality scent, but I do not think of it very wood-centric or an "Art of Wood", at all. Personally I find rose a bit divisive, a love/hate all in one package, Making rose seem masculine is difficult. Cool Elixir and Fawcett's Maharajah have done it. Unisex at best, all depending how one reacts to the rose note.

imagine half of it as a smell of an old book and the other half is sour grapefruit rind for most of the scent, and then vanilla in the drydown. a woody, raspy, barbershoppy lemon cake. a unique combination, not for everyone, not for me but can i appreciate this scent for its quality im just not really sure what occasion would warrant wearing this so those two reasons mean it doesnt get a lot of wear for me.

I received this as a free sample with an order. I hate this on both me and my partner, but funnily enough like it as a room spray/car scent. This has been moved to my car fragrance drawer to scent my car when my current scent runs out. Won't be purchasing a full size when the mini runs out.

Definitely more masculine. Pretty nice, appropriately I gifted it to a framer who works with wood 🙂

The citrus/woody opening is nice, fresh, somewhat heady/skunky; if this were the whole fragrance then I would like it a lot. Definitely getting the comparison to Perseus. Once the floral and vanilla components come out in the mid, this gives me serious grandma vibes and it ruins the fragrance for me. The vetiver comes outs strong in the dry down, being a redeeming factor here. It’s dry and earthy, but it’s kind of “too little, too late”. Longevity is moderate, got 5 hours or so. Push is also moderate. Could smell it while walking around and when in the gym. I could see how others would enjoy something like this, but I’m somehow both too old and not old enough to wear this.

Art of Wood has a sour, bitter, rindy opening that I actually kinda like. It slowly turning less bitter then becomes a spicy woody scent. Very strong cedar with a slight soft vanilla. I wish the grapefruit was toned down just a bit and a smidge of sweetness was added but it's decent. I may just be a fiend for gourmands though. Still very smooth but I'm not a fan.

First thing to notice is very reminiscent of freshly cut teak wood. I think some people could interpret this is as burnt plastic. I find this a little bit cloying in the high heat. For my taste , it is rather sweet. I do not notice a significant amount of citrus or sour. This is sophisticated , but I personally do not enjoy these kind of fragrances.
