Artisan Ethnique

☺️😊😍 I’m so happy w/this beautiful fragrance! I only wish that I hadn’t worried about the Rum (boozy) & cinnamon notes that it made me hesitant & kept me from getting Artisan Ethnique sooner bc I’ve been missing out! When it comes to boozy & cinnamon or spice notes **(I also get hesitant about Tuberose—I have two fragrances that have Tuberose that I adore, but also have had to get rid of several fragrances that the Tuberose in them didn’t work for me & made me not enjoy them—so it truly depends on the quality, quantity & I believe most importantly how well blended notes are in a fragrance. Although, if you absolutely dislike a note altogether, none of that might save it)**, it always makes me pause & hesitate w/worry that I might now like it, but this is the second fragrance I’ve gotten this year that has had interestingly enough Rum in them that I love! I don’t believe any of the other fragrances in my collection have other booze notes, so maybe I’m onto something w/Rum 😂, but as a teen I got very drunk on Rum to the point that I still can’t even smell it let alone drink it! I’ll have to wrap my mind around that! Anyways... I have never smelled Sugar Addict which this is supposed to be inspired by or is listed as the top “this reminds me of” fragrance. Actually I haven’t smelled ANY of the fragrances listed as “this reminds me of”, but it does remind me of something I have smelled before, but for the life of me can’t recall what fragrance! On first impression, I would describe this as a creamy sweet, but not overly, heavy, dense or gourmand sweet—it is sweet, but a very pleasantly slightly lighter sweetness. I pick up on a bit of sugar, but more so would say AE is very much more a more cashmeran, vanilla, Tonka bean fragrance with a perfect blend of lesser amounts of Rum, caramel & spice (so well blended that I wouldn’t know it’s cinnamon), sugar, flower (as Labdanum) & some woodiness for added depth & richness w/touch of Oakmoss for added depth & complexity & a subtlety of freshness. To my nose, the cacao & coffee notes don’t stand or jump out & if I didn’t know they were there, I wouldn’t know they were—but knowing they’re there, can definitely see that & appreciate their presence to deepen, enhance & add richness as supporting notes to AE! Overall, this is a very lovely & pleasant fragrance that could be worn for special occasions as well as anytime, but for some it might be preferable to wear at night & is more suitable in the Fall/Winter, but also in milder Summer conditions (probably not in too hot/humid heavy daytime weather) & even though it’s categorized as an “Oriental” Vanilla, it’s not heavy, thick/dense or overly spicy, sweet or boozy at all. So if spicy, cinnamon/spicy &/or boozy notes make you question it & uptight or nervous, I would say, it’s very much worthwhile to take a chance & give Artisan Ethnique a try! I think you’ll be very pleased & pleasantly surprised & happily rewarded by having her to wear & enjoy in your fragrance collection! I’ll have to try to remember to come back & update on longevity, projection & sillage (especially come Fall/Winter when the temps truly dip. Right now, the temps have dropped, but it’s still summery). She was produced in 2024, so I figure aside from moving around & any traveling disturbances, she’s good to go! So I immediately sprayed her on my forearm & that was about an hour or so ago & she’s still wafting to my nose. My dad was immediately able to smell her from about two feet away (& probably would’ve been able to smell her from further away). Also, I think this is probably one of the best sprayers I’ve had on one of my fragrances (including a lot of my other Lattafa’s)! Even my dad noticed & commented on it when I sprayed her!

This is absolutely spectacular! What a glorious scent, as expected after sampling some when it came out last year. For me, Artisan Ethnique is a deep, musky, spicy sweet, well balanced unique masterpiece of perfumery. I love it. Its a darkly sweet unique spicebomb of Arabian ancient scent. For once, all the notes listed are correct. Before even trying this i read the list of notes and knew it would work for me....to me, the combination of notes is like the dream team, the perfect line-up. Coffee, plum, cinnamon, rum, tonka beans, amber, cashmere, musk....thats something i used to hope somebody would finally make so i can buy it....and here it is. I get Persia from this, or a crypt in Ancient Egypt with plum, coffee and sugar and LOADS of delicious musk and incense as a magnificent big fat basenote. Just a total WOW in my opinion. I rarely get so excited about a fragrance but this is just an incredible scent. To me its like a scent of the ancients, the Umayyad of ancient Persia, Ottoman era Constantinople. An old school scent, not like the sixties and seventies, but old school like 661 CE I'd say its unisex but more masculine and would work best for arab or african skin types. Its got elements and similarities with some other Lattafas of this genre, but its absolutley NOT the same, despite the notes and scent profile. I get bits of Teriaq Intense, Khamrah, Khamrah Qawah and Vintage Radio, mostly due to the creamy chocolatey plum and smoky wood. But Artisan Ethnique is out on its own with its own style and i think is the best by far of those 4 which i also tried/own. Its not really like anything else (except many people say Sugar Addict or Commodity Milk which i have never tried so personally can't comment). Needs to sit a while before wearing....maybe 8 - 10 weeks. Now the projection and longevity are excellent, Artisan Ethnique lasts me all day and evening and sticks to clothes massively. Pretty strong even by my standards. Base notes are rich, consistent and set everything else off magnificently, they took 2 whole months to appear. You seriously need to sit this one in a cupboard a while folks to get the best of it. First few weeks it was decent but messy and uneven, sharp and synthetic. Unfinished. It will change over time and get much better, deeper, fuller and infinitely more finely balanced. A lot of Lattafa fragrances work that way and need time. Don't hate it and judge it too soon, when new out the wrapper its not finished yet. 2 months later, she becomes a different experience. Six months later its fully ready to wear and it takes me on a magical carpet ride back through the centuries to the ancients . Probably my best purchase of the year so far. People bitch about Lattafa and its undeniably true they've made some truly awful fragrances, but then again, they've made a masterpiece or two as well. Absolutely one for the mu'minoon 9/10 from me, almost a ten

This has very quickly become one of my very favourites this Fall. I've been considering purchasing it for a while - a few months back I tried out the OG Sugar Addict and quite liked it (it reminded me of freshly baked cinnamon cookies) so Artisan wasn't a complete blind buy. Although it's been a while since I tried the OG and without having it beside me I can't speak if there's any differences between them, but I don't particularly care about that anyway. Artisan is a bit sharp and strong in the opening, I'm guessing it's the rum, and there's a lovely cinnamon in there. I enjoy that too, but a bit later on it becomes soo comforting to me, especially in the Fall now (and definitely in the winter later). It's quite a sweet fragrance and I wouldn't recommend it to someone who doesn't like sweet and/or gourmand scents. But although it's sweet, to me it's never really cloying - I believe the woody and earthy notes keep it from becoming that. Love it so so much! I was concerned if it was too strong and sweet for the people around me so I asked a friend (who I trust a lot about fragrances) and she said it wasn't. She also said it smelled lovely on me, much better than atomizer of the bottle. Be careful of spraying it on your clothes though! The oil concentration is quite high and I accidentally stained a shirt of mine (which I think will be fine after a wash, hopefully). The longevity is moderate, it might be better with maturation or, much more likely, it's just my skin. It was one of the ME fragrances that were good right out of the box. Btw, I also don't really understand when people say here or in social media it's too masculine for them - to me it's quite unisex, maybe even 'female-leaning' and most unisex fragrances I've tried often smelled masculine to me lol. Either way, I can see anyone, man or woman, young or old, wearing this as long as they enjoy it. I tried layering it with other Lattafas as well, so far only with Her Confession and Nebras. Both were pretty good, but the first one was especially comforting - gave me the vibe of cinnamon cookies with vanilla milk (ofc not literally but just a general vibe) lol The price is also very good - I got it for ~28 USD, with Black Friday I've seen it for ~22-23 in my country. Lastly - I wouldn't say it's very similar to Angel's Share but there are some similarities. More second or third cousins than brothers. Angel's Share to me reminds me of apples and cinnamon (like apple pie), while Artisan is "drier" (more "cookies") and more woody and less boozy, if that makes sense. I have a dupe of AS and I enjoy both it and AE, depend on my mood. Doesn't remind me of Khamrah at all, I personally disliked that one (and I expected Khamrah to smell like this and/or the AS dupe, but for reason to me it smelled 95% incense and 5% unidentifiable strong spices).

It's a strong blend of sweet, spicy, boozy, caramel, coffee, vanilla, amber, woody and powdery aromas. Rum, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, coffee and caramel notes are prevalent and are strongest in the opening. They fade out as the mid and drydown becomes more woody and powdery. This is really a gourmand lover's dream fragrance but be aware that it's quite sweet. Those with an aversion to sweetness in their fragrances should avoid. This is unisex, great for cooler weather user and during intimate occasions and date nights. Performance is quite strong. Still, note that the aroma can get lost in environments where you would find the same notes such as a bakery or restaurant or food court. Presentation is a mix of a beautiful bottle and an unnecessarily wasteful double-boxed presentation. Highly recommended, especially for gourmand lovers.

First impressions; First blast is a strong delicious rum, vanilla sugar & cinnamon with hints coffee/woods. Then that morphs into a salted caramel & powdered sugar cakey donut type of smell with coffee, woods & spices underneath (and yes, I get impressions of both salt and even a bit of pepper but somehow it works). And the oakmoss definitely makes itself known throughout the whole journey. Finally settles into a lactonic sugary woody base with all the above notes/scents still lingering. It's quite complex and hard to describe. It's a great example of a earthy and gourmand scent that blends the genres together so well you can't tell were one begins and the other ends. At least that's my poetic way of describing it. lol The spray on my hand not only lasted all day into the next but subtly filled rooms I was in. New bottle but already love this. I think it's better then the Khamrah line(which I still like but yeah, I said it). It's already giving a lot, so I've very curious how much more this will develop in the coming months. Will be back with a more final review then. Edited to add: It's now been over 4 months since ^first impression review and everything I said still stands. This honestly has to be in my top ten fragrances. It's intoxicating. It's performance is outstanding. Highly recommended. But I want to stress that though this is gourmand, it's very definitely mixed with a woody earthiness....so this wouldn't be for everyone. ;) Just want to leave this sentiment. This scent would be in my 10 favorites without question. ;)

I was always curious about this and I finally got to try it. After my recent gourmand semi-disaster (Cookie Bite), I feels like I need to explore more mature gourmand leaning scents. This was exactly that in the store, with a gorgeous cocoa note and a matured expensive body to it. However I think my new bottle is not giving the complete experience I got in the store, as it is leaning a little fruity similar to a mixture of Khamrah and Honor and Glory as others have mentioned in the opening but that was not the experience in store. Which is surprising as there are no fruits in the notes. However by the drydown I get that full bodied cocoa, a bit of spiciness and a bakery vibe on top of an expensive smelling base, an hour in there is no similarity to Honor and Glory and Khamrah lingering but just the booziness similarity, so I will be looking forward to the maceration of this bottle. It does have this edible powdery quality to it, not baby powder powdery, but like powdered doughnuts, and a hint of lactonicness which is my favourite thing in perfumery. Overall I love it! Update: Yep it smells like what it smelt in store after a week! This is gorgeous nothing like Khamrah! No longer similar to Honor and Glory either although perhaps there is a hint of the reminder of that in the background somewhere, but this is much more gourmand and I cant put my finger on what type of dessert this is, but its sugary, cinnamony, cocoa, cakey but not your typical cake note, richness, just lovely.

I love adore this stuff. It's crazy, actually! FWIW, I have Khamrah and Khamrah Qahwa. And while it's in the SAME wheelhouse as both Khamrah fragrances, for me AE is 1000% better. AE is WITHOUT the sticky dates/dried fruits/boozy plum accords present in both Kahmrahs. Artisan Ethnique is sweet but balanced by the perfume's dryness, dustiness and woodiness. Artisan Ethnique has cacao, vanilla, some oak moss and woods, which steer it away from super-sweet gourmand territory, IMHO! Artisan Ethnique opens with a spicy cinnamon note immediately followed by a sweet, extremely boozy (rum) accord. The fragrance develops with dusty cacao, coffee notes, a bit of caramel and vanilla. AE unfolds as a musky, cashmeran and VERY woody perfume with creamy vanilla, cacao, some caramel, oak moss, a beautiful coffee note and lots of warmth in its base. The dry-down is absolutely lovely with a predominant and dusty, almond-vanilla tonka bean and cashmeran wood. There's also a bit of smoky amber (from the labdanum) in the dry-down. The beautiful base notes ground Artisan Ethnique from developing into just another sickly sweet, juvenile gourmand fragrance. And performance is stellar! I cannot believe the perfume's high quality given the relatively low price-point. The base notes and dry-down are incredible!! Artisan Ethnique! I love it! I love it!

I've been on the fence with this one for a long time. I figured what the hell, and blind bought it for $25. I was not aware Artisan Ethnique was in the Angel's Share family of clones, but it definitely is. Which is fine by me because I love this profile, but I already have 4 other frags in this family. After reading a lot of the reviews here, I was afraid this scent might be too feminine leaning. It definitely is not. I asked my wife if she thought it was, or something she might wear, she said absolutely not. She said this was a 100% masculine leaning scent. She also said it does smell really good on me. There's no real point in describing the notes, just read all the reviews from the AS clones. Though it does get interesting after the booziness wears off in about 2-3 hours. It turns into sweet dates, probably from the the cacao, an easily recognizable note common in middle eastern scents. Even though yes, there are some differences to AS, they're all just different shades of the same color. It's really good, but redundant if you own other AS clones. This layers really well with Lattafa's Ameer Al Oudh Intense (in the family of By the Fireplace).

04/12/25 I think I got a bad batch? These reviews are saying this is sweet, cinnamon and slightly gourmand...? My bottle is very floral forward, cane sugar sweet and has even “macerated” for 3 months. I’m reading Fragrantica’s, “This perfume reminds me of,” ....section here and people are voting Commodity: Milk Expressive and Zara Red Temptation Vanille. I own both of these perfumes LOVE them so much, but my bottle of Artisan Ethnique smells nothing like either these. It is very similar to MOD: Blush by Grande. AE really isn’t bad, easy to layer with, price is fair, just not my favorite scent profile due to the floral notes. Rating: 7/10 Would not buy again UPDATE: 05/21/25 It’s crazy how this has changed within a month. I no longer get the floral note anymore. I asked my husband what it smells like and his words were, “..like you baked something with brown sugar..” I’m so glad I held on to this one, almost tossed it out! I can see...smell the similarities now between Milk Expressive. Going to buy a couple of back up bottles. Rating 10/10

Wow! Now THIS is a gourmand and at $15 dollars (price I got it) you just can't beat this. Starts off with a hot and heavy blast of that cinnamon-sugar combo, but never treads cloying for me. With that being said, however I can see that this will be cloying for some. The main sweet accord in this is very familiar and I can't quite put my finger on it. My husband says it reminds him of pound cake. This is very well done, my favorite part is this kinda barnyard funk note that lingers at the base, keeping everything sober and erect. I'm assuming that's the oakmoss listed, but to me the note honestly vibrates towards oud. Overall this has a shining/sparkling vibe that makes me think of Christmas. Ugh this is just so intoxicating! I can't believe it! $15 dollars??? Just do yourself a favor if you're a gourmand/sweet fragrance enjoy-er and just buy this, it's great for fall and winter. Can and should be worn by anyone as it is truly unisex. I keep being impressed by Lattafa.

This is a tragedy omfg..... wth im actually shocked. The worst parts of br540, khamrah and badee al oud honor and glory combined. Omg wtf wtf wtf...... i dont even know what to say. Repulsive. Didnt expect this from Lattafa. Edit: ....i am ONCE AGAIN SHOCKED - in the most confusingly good way ever. Mind you im talking about the same decant vial i tested a month ago. This has changed 180o. It is now a sweet nice supple unobtrusive cozy aroma. I thought i knew enough about oxigenation and maturation but this took it to new unthinkable grounds. This has never happened. It retained NO bad features - in fact im tempted to get a full bottle! It holds familiar facets of cinnamon but its sugariness is very unique. This has got to be studied because what i smelled when i first got the decant was way way way past acceptable. It doesnt even remind me of Honor + Glory anymore that much. Im scratching my whole brain over this situation. As of now its a solid 8.4 in my book.

What does it smell like? In short, it’s an Oriental (spicy) Vanilla with abundant Cinnamon, a good dose of sugar, and touches of Rum and Coffee. While I can’t say Artisan Ethnique is an exact clone of Sugar Addict since I haven't smelled it, the notes are similar enough to suggest a possible match. Based on my experience with over 130 perfumes, the scent profile likely resembles a mix of 40% Kismet Magic by Maison Alhambra and 40% Souvenir Blooming Bliss by Afnan (without the coconut), plus about 20% Oud 24 Hours by Ard Al Zaafaran. If you enjoy any of these, you'll likely love Artisan Ethnique as well. Why is it a go-to for me? Its exquisite blend of Ambery Vanilla, sweet spices, and sophistication makes it a standout, akin to popular Cinnamon fragrances like Angel Share by Killian, Oajan by Parfums de Marly and Baccarat Rouge 540 by MFK. In summary, you must appreciate Cinnamon and spicy Vanilla with Rum in order to enjoy the scent profile.

I just got this yesterday as all the notes were shouting my name. I love a gourmand, but without having it be overly sweet. Cinnamon is probably my favourite note in a perfume and it is a strong one in this one. However: first spray is shocking. Feels more masculine than I expected, and boozy. I got worried there for a minute. After 5 minutes I started smelling the other notes and I was sold. If you like perfumes like angel's share and all it's dupes, I'd say it's a safe blind buy. I will be combining it with sweeter vanilla scents like the tubbees sweet caramel on those days I look for something a bit sweeter and feminine. The dry down is fantastic, and a lot less menacing. Think warm cinnamon rum with a vanilla biscuit. I see other comments mentioning macerating gets rid of the initial shocking masculine smell, looking forward to see that transformation.

This really smells like so many good perfumes. Firstly it's an ambroxan bomb so if you are not fan of it stay away. When I first sprayed it ambroxan was so strong an reminded of Velaya Exclusive, the magic didn't last long and very next spay I was smelling something else. Spicy, boozy, woody, sweet vanilla. It can be so confusing for me because sometimes it reminds me of Seher ( prominent Tonka) , Khammrah (spicy and boozy), opening of Vanilla woods ( just that vanilic part in the opening). I smelled Sugar addict in perfume shop and it smells close to this but I didn't compare them side by side. So it's quite nice and on point with modern gourmand trend being soft (well blended) but loud and long lasting. Arguably it could be redundant because it's not unique or groundbreaking but I really enjoy it. Currently a love 💕

I love the cognac hit that immediately pulls you in. I love openings like that, which you look forward to (sometimes they're things I tolerate for a wonderful pay off). The caramelised sugar note is the real star over time though, all thick, smoky sweet, just shy of burnt (which gives it depth). Some people call it a cinnamon doughnut, but on my skin the “dough” part never really shows up. Instead, the spice feels more like a subtle accent, soft and smoky, warming the caramel rather than shouting over it. Compared to others in the Angel’s Share or Khamrah Venn diagram, this feels much easier to wear. It has the same indulgence but less complex, more sugar. I keep wondering if layering it with something croissant could push it fully into that doughnut territory, but as it stands, I love it exactly as it is.

This reminds me so much of Angel’s Share. Just make it the lighter, daytime, office friendly version. It’s more similar than Khamrah, which just smells too spicy and masculine. I already know I’m going to wear this a lot. The bottle is hideous and tacky, but that’s what happens when men design everything. I’m looking at you all Arab brands. If you’re looking for a dupe of Angel’s Share, good luck. None of them are quite right. This fragrance satisfies the itch, is cheap enough to wear every day, and spray all over the place. I can’t comment on the performance because I just put it on 30 mins ago, but I’d rather reapply than smell like a particular perfume for 12 hours. Perfect for fall and winter daytime. Break out the Angel’s Share for date nights and events.

Wow, this is great! To be honest, it smells incredibly similar to Angels Share's (AS) opening, but extended and incredibly sweet. Upon first sniff, it gave an incredibly alcoholic opening, so I was a little concerned, but after maybe 30 seconds, the alcohol scent disappeared, showing the perfume's true roots. Along with smelling like AS with its smooth cinnamon and boozy, seductive tone, it derives from AS in the sense that instead of transitioning into a smooth, masculine vanilla scent, this perfume remains incredibly smooth and sweet, almost dusty, with notes of vanilla and tonka bean. I absolutely love this scent, and for 30$ it was an absolute steal. Lattafa is killing it with these dupes/twists, and I don't see their charm dying any time soon.

I wanted to hate it but I can’t. Bought it blindly already macerated as someone else’s failed blind buy so I might’ve skipped the stink people are talking about. It was my first “spicy” perfume and at first spray the cinnamon hit me like a train and I put it aside for a good month. It felt very adult if that makes sense, I’ve always leaned towards sugary sweet scents rather than serious gourmands. I gave it another chance and this time I got cinnamon, caramel, spicy plum?, boozyness, it had so much depth this time and I fell in love with it. Definitely for colder weather. I find it doesn’t project as much as I hoped from such a strong profile but it performs well nonetheless. And i quite like the bottle actually, will probably repurchase.

If you got this and were disappointed upon first sniff, let it sit! Straight out of the box I was not having it. Sharp and in your face, obnoxious, and so strong in the worst way. I gave it about 10 sprays into the air and put it away. A month later, WOW. This is fall and winter in a bottle. The cinnamon has toned down and I’m getting more of that rum, chocolate, caramel, tonka and vanilla. It’s only spicy at the top which is much more enjoyable now. It’s sweet without being candy sweet AND this stuff lasts FOREVER. It will not fade from clothing or skin until you wash it off, the most beast mode fragrance I have and I have a lot. Hubby wanted to jump me when I wore this and grabbed me to sniff me up. So there’s that. LOL

I’m glad I got Lattafa Khamrah Qahwa first. It prepared me for the strong spiciness of this fragrance. I’m really glad I did get it. Is it similar to LKQ? Yes. It has less cinnamon and remove the apple (which is not what I always want to smell like). I’m going to shelf this now for a few months. I’m looking forward to this next fall when the weather is back to cold. This is a yes for me, but might not be for everyone. If you like vanilla, amber, cashmere wood, and cinnamon, you would like this. This is like putting on a warm sweater on a cold mid-west day. Maybe it is the “balsamic” note... there is something about it I keep coming back to smell. It is complex in a compelling way on the dry down.
