Berry On Top

I love this very much but at first I did think it's a bit too sweet for my liking.. I said to myself: the notes are sugar plus white flowers plus strawberry jam... well the white flowers are very sweet on their own, and so is the strawberry jam, so why add even more sweetness by adding that "sugar" note? I guess u could say to make it cozy and wintery and to quell my sweet cravings once and for all, and since it develops into this richly grounded powdery vanilla and jam feel that someone on YouTube described as "leathery" (yes he said he smells a leather note in the combo) I absolutely love that it is very sweet now and I have come to appreciate particularly the dry down. I think this dude on YouTube was describing how the strawberry jam full of iron and the animalic aspect of white flowers and musk have come together with the depth and woodyness of vanilla, if the vanilla here is real vanilla and not just vanillin. I think that's what smelled "leathery" to him. So at the end of the day, I don't mind that it is extra sweet and I'm glad it was done that way. I just have to not wear it on the day I intend to drink my jasmin and cacao tea, if I wanna taste the jasmin in it. Because it does affect your sense of taste and sweet things may smell bland after smelling this for hours. I love a creamy strawberry gourmand and I knew I could never hate it for that reason.. because in desserts the strawberry balances out the sweeteness for me and since in this perfume it is VERY present from beginning till end، it does balance the scent and makes the sweetness enjoyable and more grounded But the strawberry here has that iron taste u find in a real strawberry.. it gets stronger with time but the scent never becomes bitter like iron. It just becomes more dense and grounded yet very sweet still. Iron is bitter and I am aware of the different facets of how strawberry tastes and it's not just sweet it is tangy and green and bitter too. In this perfume u can smell all of those facets of the strawberry at first but it is less green more iron jammy the closer u go towards the dry down at the final dry down all i am left with is a bit of strawberriy jam with lots of vanilla and sugar and white flowers, and to my nose this combo smells like chocolate with strawberry jam in it. I love the final dry down. What this youtube person described as leathery, to me smells like chocolate and strawberry.. and get this: Yesterday I intended to cook up some strawberries into jam but I only half-cooked them in brown sugar, and today I added them on top of my home made chocolate spread on bread and it tasted EXACTLY like the dry down of this perfume.. I will tell u that to make my chocolate healthy nutella style spread I use tahini instead of hazelnuts (but sometimes toasted hazelnut flour too), and lots of date syrup concentrate (or honey in lesser quantity) and cacao powder and vanillin and finally olive oil.. but this time I also added water to make it creamier and less dense since I was not making a big batch to store for later anyway.. Back to the perfume: I'm not surprised it smells like chocolate spread to me because cacao butter, if u smell it on its own, smells like a mix of white flowers and vanilla and lactonic accords .. or maybe it's the white flowers that smell creamy and animalic like the cacao butter. either way.. it smells amazing. and well, on a cold winter day, this might not be as sweet .. right now where i live in the Levant it is almost spring time.. and usually our winter is a moderately cold one.. but I would love to wear this somewhere colder .. Either way it is a unique, kind of a simple gourman (kind of but not really, to me it is unique)).. not many perfumes keep the notes that simple or make the strawberry that strong or that jammy. and when it is kept simple, it is usually marketed for kids so its refreshing to see it done by a serious perfume brand like lattafa, using high quality strawberry extract, and in such a cute packaging on top of that.. The packaging always makes me giggle like a child when I glance at it from the corner of my eye as I am in my room. Edit: now that I smelled yum boujee marshmallow, I can't believe I thought this one was too sweet.. I can barely detect the fruits in yum boujee marshmallow.. it is cloyingly sweet. But this one is not. Because it's more powdery and more strawberry forward. It is still VERY sweet though. But I appreciate it even more now after I smelled yum boujee. . It is basically strawberry and cream on top of a creamy foral vanilla strawberry cake. will macerate this post oxygen introduction though to see if it becomes stronger.

I really like it. Its nothing like strawberry poundcake or YBM/ Marshmallow Blush, its more dark almost cherry berry and jammy while still having a playful vibe. The strawberries of the three are completely different. The initial spray really comes out with alot of musk and is terrible so I can understand the bad reviews but as it dries down it becomes amazing to me. I also get a lot of thick cream which is what I was looking for, lactonic goodness. And what I appreciate is the strawberry note and the whipped cream note do not overly overlap if that makes sense, like they feel distinct in the sense that there is a fully captured strawberry and a fully captured whipped cream so its literally berries and cream, rather than a strawberry flavoured cheesecake. It's lactonic but not to the extent of feeling like a cheesecake, I love it I think I have finally found my berries and cream perfume. BBW Strawberry poundcake is more of that strawberry flavoured cheesecake and although very creamy it has a very nauseating and cheap smell where the creaminess does not feel actually edible. Marshmallow Blush/YBM has a very candy strawberry with more of marshmallow fluff rather than creamy lactonicness. I prefer this style so much more than strawberry poundcake and YBM/ Marshmallow Blush! Also I dont get the florals at all which was what I was worried about. It does have an element of smelling like lip balm but I think thats the jam, sugar and musk mixing to come across that way. Update: After a week the strawberry is becoming even more realistic and juicy. This is gorgeous 😍

Wow. Just simply wow. What an excellent piece of work this is. It completely restores my faith in the sometimes basic Lattafa perfume house. If you don't like sweet stuff, you'll fucking hate it, but if you're looking for a decent gourmand, and an honest representation of a strawberry milkshake, then you'll be head over heels in love with this stonker. The most fantastical thing about it is that the strawberry notes are present throughout the entire profile, and they don't disappear on the dry down. It is acceptable for both tails and no-tails to wear it, but if you are a butch cunt, it won't suit you. It'll spin you away to a fairyland, where there's loads of pink stuff and whipped cream everywhere. Sort of like a fruity gangbang in deepest, darkest Thailand, with both real no-tails and pretend ones. It is most refreshing to see strawberry take center stage, as it is so often used as a supporting note. It is VERY PRESENT in this profile, with both a strawberry jelly type scent, and a more sugary strawberry jam type scent. Spray it all over you, lube up that bumhole, and allow yourself to be whisked away on a pink fluffy cloud, to that blistering sex party in Thailand. It costs fuck all, so you can take a chance on it. If you don't like it, I'll buy it off you. Even the bottle is fucking beautiful. 9/10. My only dislike is that it's longevity is not the best. But, when you consider the scent notes, that is understandable.

A strawberry lover gourmand dream ⊹ ࣪ ˖ 🍓 I had sworn that I was doing a break (a no perfume buys lol) (didn't work) until this incredible strawberry cupcake came to light. Now this is an incredible find for who is craving a strawberry cupcake on a daily basis. (me) At first I was sceptical on the first sprays, smelled horrible (flowery and sour strawberry plastic) and was so disappointed. The dry down was incredible tho, reminded me of a better strawberry poundcake, instead of an overly sickening butter cream scent, it is replaced with a more delicate sugary twist without removing the cake aspect. (NO similarities with YBM by kayali) Came back the next day, I think it just needed few sprays before showing true colors. Now, it first smells like a sugary strawberry jam, and fades into a better strawberry poundcake, with a caramel/ cream twist. It's not over yet ; Berry on Top has the best longevity/sillage ever !! this is what I dreamed of strawberry poundcake having. It lasts the entire day, and the scent is so delightful ! The perfect mix with the eos strawberry dream lotion. Smelled my shirt the next day and so shocked about how well the scent stick to clothes, this is soo worth it. Strawberry lovers, (and especially the poundcake ones) don't be shy, you'll find your dream perfume here. Plus, the bottle is so cute, LOVE it.

I may be a serious fraghead with over 600 bottles in my collection, but I'm thrilled to report that I haven't lost my sense of fun. While some of my fragrances could probably be classified as "serious and sophisticated," this one is cute! It's not a hyper-realistic, freshly picked strawberry but a whimsical, strawberry shortcake fantasy. It's the kind of scent that whispers sweet nothings to you as a pajama scent or plays well with others as a layering scent. Now, let's talk about the "serious" strawberry note competition. I tried Nest's Santa Barbara Strawberry, and let's just say it was a little too "let's go pick organic berries" for my liking. But once I layered it with this, a beautiful friendship was born. I loved it so much that I immediately bought a backup bottle, because in this economy, you don't find true love under $50 a bottle and let it slip away. And for those of you claiming the bottles are House of Sillage dupes—nope! These bottles aren't just dupes; they're intentionally over-the-top, and I am here for it. I was genuinely shocked by their weight. The caps might not be glass, but don't let that fool you. These bottles are so heavy they could moonlight as doorstops when you're finished with them. They're a statement piece, a weapon, and an adorable work of art all in one.

This is, by far, the best one out of the Give me Gourmand line and the only one I'm actually hyped to buy despite hating these bottles. Coming from someone who loves all gourmands and loves scents like Pink Sugar, this whole collection is ridiculously photorealistic. Despite the whole line giving bakery, this one is by far the most wearable out of all. It is very, very sweet and straight up strawberry without falling into marshmallow notes. It's not similar to YBM at all, it has its own unique strawberry-sweet gourmand profile. The white florals are basically non-existent, this is a fantastic option for sweet scent lovers who are looking for something that doesn't have any floral scents at all. It also lasts longer than all other perfumes in this line, has a fantastic dry-down that maintains the strawberry scent realistically and projects loads. It's the most decidedly feminine one out of the line because of the sweet fruit note in my opinion. It's a bit juvenile and a daytime scent but it can definitely be worn year-round. This is a fantastically achieved sweet fragrance with no alcohol opening at all and at a great pricepoint for what it delivers.

As a perfume enthusiast and strawberry being one of my favorite perfume notes, this was an instant yes. For one thing, I fell in love with the cute bottle dressed up as a cupcake. Berry on Top is very similar to Yum Boujee Marshmallow. In Berry On Top, the strawberry note does smell fresh and sugary. There are times when I can distinctly smell the Strawberry Jam note. Overall, this perfume is a more simplified version of the popular. It's sugary and less creamy, but still very similar to Yum Boujee Marshmallow. In the drydown, I notice it is significantly sugary, but there's just enough Chantilly cream to soften and balance the scent. Honestly, its really nice. It does fulfill that nostalgic sugary strawberry aroma without becoming too cloying.

The difference between skin chemistries is really fun, and it makes me a little sad. Bought it for my close friend, and it smelled nostalgic on them. My skin tends to be the kind that brings out intense fruity smells, and theirs more often brings out musks and sweet notes. On me, it smelled like natural, normal strawberry jam, even after the drydown. Not bad, just boring to me. On them, it smelled like the most fantastically fake, delicious little strawberry cream. Think the fake strawberry smell they used to imbue on strawberry shortcake dolls and CDs. It makes me feel guilty to ask them to wear it now and then because they don't particularly care for it, but it's such a comforting smell that I missed so much.

The perfume reminds me of the inside of a bubble gum with the strawberry sauce inside. Cannot remember the name of it. The scent starts out strawberry synthetic and then develops into a strawberry and cream scent. What I like is that it doesn’t become vanilary. Lasts ages. I initially went to do a side by side comparison of Opium 2009 edt and edp. But I got so distracted after smelling berry on top. Now im so annoyed why i don’t spray that properly. It appeared short lived on skin compared to opium of course but on clothes I think it lasts quite long. Need to test again this week to see how the sillage is and how the synthetic note is within the perfume. Must say it went well with the opium 😆😆

At first I did not like it, now I'm OBSESSED! It smells delicious and very realistic to strawberry jam and whipped cream, though the strawberry notes could be a bit stronger. It reminds me of summers as a kid when me and my friend would buy readymade cake bases and add strawberry jam and whipped cream on them❤️❤️❤️ I'd be careful about blind buying, even if you generally like gourmands. My best friend who tends to enjoy gourmand, hyperfeminine fragrances more than me found it sickly sweet and didn't really enjoy it even though I LOVE it Longevity is fine, much better on clothes though

For me, this is the most realistic strawberry scent I own, with a creamy vanilla background. I also love Yum Bougee Marshmallow; to some people they might smell similar. But for me, this one is much more strawberry-forward — like 80% more. I’ve also found that this is my perfect layering scent whenever I want to add a fruity aspect to something. It’s literally berry on top🍓 I also own Choco Overdose and Whipped Pleasure from this line, but I reach for this one much more.

Berry On Top has the most realistic, natural strawberry note in the opening that I have ever encountered. It's the scent of biting into a perfectly ripe strawberry. This is not a cloying scent by any means. This is a fresh, zesty, slightly sweet strawberry fragrance. This is NOT in the vein of YBM. It's a fresh, realistic strawberry fragrance in the beginning then the dry down has the chantilly cream and vanilla peaking through . Beautiful.

THE BOTTLES ARE CUTE. Why are people so mad about them? I LOVE THEM. You don't have to buy them if you think they are ugly! Some of us like cute, and "childish" bottles. I want them all simply just for the adorable bottles, but I love gourmands, so I hope they project well. At least these will actually smell like sweet confectionaries unlike the Anna Sui ones.

..."authentic strawberry" 🍓? Nope. At least not to my nose, but close enough so I enjoy Berry On Top so much nonetheless. This is delicious. I do not expect a realistic strawberry smell in a scent at this price, but this concoction is addictive and cherished. Layering this with other fruity or musky scents does the job in the summer weather 🩷🥰

My wife loves this fragrance. I love it too on her. It's so good sweet strawberry yoghurt kind of smelling. I'm my opinion is perfect. Not kidding it's stay on your skin 14+ hours and project like a beast!!!! Lady's if you want a beautiful fragrance with long lasting and really decent projecting perfume this is it!

Like a strawberry shortcake with extra whip cream thats delicious but that you've also accepted are made with artifical strawberries. Very creamy and the fruitiness is almost so sweet you wouldn't even know its fruit unless you looked at the notes. Maybe more of a strawberry cake slathered in whipped buttercream.

Just like Ammi describes it there, first spraying little did I know how much I’ll be liking it! Its Super-Strawberry and then photorealistic vanilla ice-cream, perfect for layering. It works on its own too somedays. Very strong, longevity is epic. Got some compliments from a grown woman.

smells exactly like strawberry jam, so wonderful. and the dry down is magnificent and smells like a sweet powdery strawberry and vanilla. i will buy it again when i finish it. it projects around 4/5h, and i could still smell it on my clothes the day after i sprayed it.

One of the best strawberry fragrances, hands down.

I think I will wear this only very, very lightly. I do like it all right. It's interesting, but I applied just half a spray to my hair and it's almost too much. I enjoy it more after it has settled down a bit and is more like a subtle lingering fragrance. The complex undertones remind me less of a perfume, and more of a very specific natural smell that people can have. It's like when you cuddle with someone who just ate pink and red candies, and the sugar is still fresh on their fingers and breath. I suppose there are moments where my brain parses the information as being a strawberry smell, (maybe like a strawberry milk carton more than jam,) but the stronger notes really take over. It's like... creamy, spiced strawberry milk..? I will try to train my nose to think of it as a plastic strawberry-scented toy and see if that helps it make more sense for me. It's definitely very warm, rich smell. I would love to have kind of a cold, sparkly, or even sharp fruit scent to wear... but after having tried a couple blends that claim to be "fun" or "bright" notes of strawberries or fruit, I think I have to accept that I'm not going to get that smell from an EDT or EDP. Maybe just body sprays or indie brands. The only thing that feels really playful about this to me is the bottle. I guess it's too mature to be the scent I'm still searching for, so although I'll keep it, I doubt I will ever run out. Anybody looking for a fruity or sweet smell that still has a sense of adultness to it might like this, though. Just apply lightly if you want to respect those around you!

I am always on the hunt for a perfect strawberry scent and though I can't say I've found it, I have found a very good selection depending on my mood. This one starts out incredibly syrupy or jammy on me and settles down into more of a pastry sweetness that people will notice immediately. I was amazed that the next morning after trying it out my sister even commented on it as I walked into the kitchen. Definitely a bit synthetic but I don't imagine you can get much closer to a genuine strawberry shortcake scent than this. It has a bit of an unusual bitter note when you smell closely but at a distance the only thing that comes up is the creamy berry goodness. Reminds me of a delicious strawberry ice cream. When spraying, use lightly unless you want to fill the room for hours. That sillage is no joke.

This perfume for me is straightforward strawberry and cream gourmand. It has stroong initial sweet sugary strawberry note with cream and it dries down to a surprinsingly interesting (and sexy) musk and vanilla that smells excellent on the skin (at least on mine). I wanted a perfume that is sweet, creamy and strawberry and this is it. This perfume is not complex - but it smells extremely feminine and sweet with a sexy dry-down - vanilla and musk - so I will be happily and comfortably wearing it being surrounded by an adorable sweet strawberry and cream cloud. I like this perfume a lot. LaTaffa Yara Candy resembles this - but this is purely strawberry as Yara Candy is fruity, berry and more frizzy sugar candy like.

This a very synthetic fun strawberry scent. It's youthful, playful...reminds me of the strawberry note used in strawberry flavored gum, lip balms...candy, etc. For me this is def a layering scent due to the lack of complexity. It would have been nice for the whip cream to have a stronger presence. I see some people are comparing this to Yum Boujee....I can see the direction it would be going in, but they are not the same, and to me, they are not similar enough to consider this a dupe. Though if you mixed this with a marshmallow scent then you would get close to a dupe of YB. I do like this though....it's fun...it's a layering scent that I think will top off very nicely with other sweet scents.

I got this mainly for the fun bottle, I had 0 expectations regarding the scent but I actually was surprised. This is the most realistic strawberry I ever smelled in a fragrance. It actually shocked me, strawberry are usually very synthetic to my nose. I smell more of the chemical than the scent it's supposed to be. I started researching and lo and behold, this fragrance has one of the first natural strawberry now in it. Lattafa, even with your most childish and funny bottles, you're not playing!

Thankfully I tested this before blind buying! This has a delicious nostalgic strawberry, cherry lip balm scent but there is a weird note that ruins it. A review below say something like dirty socks, my nose picks something weird too. I’m not sure if that’s because of the tester that maybe had some oxidation but given the fact that there is another review that mentions something weird I am not sure what to say...

smells EXACTLY like a strawberry jam despite the fact that i expected this to be more like a strawberry milkshake, but it’s still good though its a little synthetic but not in that level when its terrible so it’s a realistic juicy & sweet strawberry with a big amount of sugar added on top with a hint of cream for me unfortunately it’s doesn’t lasts long and doesn’t have strong sillage :(

When you first spray it, you definitely get that strawberry wafer scent. After a short while, it turns into a mix of red berries, but interestingly, that light and delicious strawberry note comes back again. Berry on Top is definitely the most girly and feminine fragrance in the Give Me Gourmand series. I absolutely adore this perfume! 🍓

Accurate strawberry scent but with a bitter almond undertone. I know there's no almonds in this, but the bitter scent is so much like very bitter old almonds, just like the undertone in caramel cascade. It's a fun fragrance but I don't think I'll ever wear it. Mind you, I just bought it. Maybe this will mature in a couple of weeks.

This is a strawberry milkshake scent to me, and I do get a note reminiscent of Lataffa Eclaire, I don't know what it is. It does last long, on clothes that is. I can still catch a whiff of the scent more than 24 hours later. It's not too sweet. Definitely a nice fragrance to add to my collection.

Paper test: Initial sprays have the sweet strawberry and musk. There is a little lactonic creaminess. I'm not a fan of the musk in general but it might be ok on me when I do a skin test. I think these bottles are adorable so even if I don't wear it often I'm glad I bought it.

I quite like this!!!! does have an artificial strawberry note but it's nicely fruity and sweet without being cloying.♡ I'm not sure if I'd buy a full bottle but it's a very good choice◝(ᴖᴗᴖ)◜

Haha 80-90s kid here, strawberry shortcakes doll smell, if my memory serves me correctly, but that was awhile ago haha. That’s also after the dry down on my skin. It’s a cute smell.

A very very sweet strawberry! Oddly specific but this reminds me of a specific swedish strawberry hard candy. I like it but it's too candyish and overly sweet for me.

I put off getting ‘Berry On Top’ at release because I have plenty of similar scent profiles, but about a month ago I had the opportunity to snag for only $20 on TikTok. This started out crazy when I first received. There was this strong, I dont know how else to describe it besides musty basement smell. My partner and I even joked, calling this ‘Basement on Top’ because it was that prevalent. I think its from an attempt at emulating a jammy Strawberry experience. I thought there was no chance this would improve, but to my surprise this seems to have evened out a bit. I’ve revisited this a few times in the last week and I find more joy with each sniff/wear. I still kind of get the basement thing, but only in the opening. Dried down this gets interesting, giving you not just the strawberry flesh, but the crunchy gritty seeds and even the green little stems attached too. Pretty sure I think I like this? I hope this will continue to improve and that the basement quality will fully dissipate eventually. This, to my nose, gives a more gourmand take on Nest’s ‘Santa Barbra Strawberry.’ That same “whole entire strawberry” kind of scent. 😇

I had high hopes for this so I got a large decant to test but for some reason underneath that strawberry scent in the opening is something that smells really awful, I can't exactly pinpoint what it is in the notes but it smells like the inside of a car on a hot day, really unpleasant and it has ruined the perfume for me even though it sliiiightly disappears in the dry down. There is also something very plasticky in the base, like the smell of strawberry doll heads, so if you like that scent DNA you might enjoy this, but again be aware of whatever funky smell that was in the opening.

First let me say I love the bottle, so much fun to have in my collection. Although the bottle is fun, the fragrance is a serious gourmond. Strawberry and Chantilly cream what could go wrong? Perfect combination. Silage is great, longevity great, all at a great price! A welcomed edition to my fragrance family!
