Choco Overdose

The review section is a good example of how you really cannot please everyone and how different our noses are. Some are disappointed it doesn't smell like chocolate, some dislike it because it smells LIKE chocolate. (I don't know what that person was expecting considering this is called CHOCO OVERDOSE lol) I left an initial review in September of 2025 which was just first impressions but I wanted to do a review as someone who has had it for almost 4 months so I deleted my previous. Here is my honest take: This is my favourite chocolate perfume, and I still stand by my first impression where I stated it smelled like thick chocolate fudge mixed with some booze, this is definitely not a chocolate bar. Though I can understand the similarity with Velvet Chocolate by Theodoros Kalotinis, Choco Overdose has a very deep and warm amber base that almost leans masculine to some. It took a while for me to really appreciate it as I was fairly new to fragrances and perfume collecting at the time of my purchase, but now I can't really appreciate any other chocolate fragrance that isn't as dense and boozy as this. As for longevity, I really have to overspray this on my clothes to make it last. On my skin it turns ambery very fast. I think the best combo is when I layer this with Nebras (Eilish dupe) or Cookie Crave, the other one from the Give Me Gourmand line. Yeah the bottle design is over-the-top but sometimes it's okay to have something cute and whimsy. That's what life is about. (Though honestly it's not as flimsy as one would think. The bottle and cap are very weighted.) The only gripes I have is that I find it hard to grip and get a good spray cos of how wide it is, and I hate how it's 70ml instead of 100ml. I already have a visible dent on mine. But anyway I don't mind purchasing a backup bottle of this as I find it a staple in my perfume faves.

Tried this in a store. It smells exactly like the slightly synthetic hot chocolate you get at car dealerships or hospitals in my country (Denmark), which I'm obsessed with. That grainy, creamy, crumby hot chocolate in a paper cup. It's everything I want in a chocolate fragrance, and definitely the only one of the Give Me Gourmand I've tried smelling that was sweet enough for me. I'm not gonna buy it anytime soon, but that's because I have enough perfume for now, and I want to consume them. But this one is definitely on my to-buy list. Packaging is cute too, obviously.

I bought this just for fun, thinking it would probably be body-spray tier, but it's actually majestic. Yes it smells like a dessert, but like...an EXPENSIVE dessert. Dark chocolate, Mexican vanilla, some kind of nutty or freshly-grated coconut undertone I can't identify. (Nota bene: after 5-6 hours, you will start smelling buttered popcorn underneath the chocolate. I like it, personally) I've layered this with raghba wood intense on my wrists and Noel au Balcon on my throat; try it for autumn winter, it's cozy

I don't find chocolate perfumes often and i found this one randomly, it's amazing, not like choco musk, it doesn't have that alcoholic smell and spicy smell, it's pure chocolate, sweet, gourmand, perfect for winter and fall, i love it

I love it! Even though the bottle is huge in relation to how much product is actually in it, it has such whimsical packaging. I love staring at it, and it completely matches the vibe of the scent too!

On a paper test I immediately got chocolate cherries, which is weird because cherries aren't listed as a note. This is VERY chocolate, and I think the bottles are super cute!

Smells like literal chocolate #needthat

With this perfume i came to a conclusion that Middle Eastern perfume houses does not know how to create a chocolate note!!! I've been hunting for a realistic chocolate note for a while now and all of the middle eastern perfumes were a huge disappointment. I tried Choco Overdose, Cookie Crave, Choco Musk, Choco Cult, Just Choco, Qissa Delicious, Nebras, Odyssey Dubai Chocolat etc and none of them smell like real chocolate to me, everything smells like vanilla/caramel/brown sugar mix. So now i came to a conclusion that middle eastern brands have still not cracked a perfect and realistic chocolate note. Choco Overdose to me smells like a normal butter cookie with a lot of caramel and there is a strong musk which is same as the one in "Tiramisu Coco". Its is gourmand for sure but not chocolatey, yes there is a small hint of chocolate but its not even a realistic chocolate note. I really like this perfume as i just love gourmands but i was disappointed cause i wanted to smell chocolate. Its been only a month since i got it though, i will wait for it to macerate!!! Also @OloraGolosina , you have described this perfume accurately, it was a huge disappointment for me cause of all the hype from social media and everyone claimed it smells like chocolate/brownie!!! If anyone is looking for a realistic chocolate perfume the only one i found good is "Velvet Chocolate" by Theodoros Kalotinis, its a real chocolate perfume and for me it smells exactly like chocolate nesquik powder. I'm still on a hunt to find some realistic chocolate note!!! In India its very hard to find indie perfumes and most of the designer/niche/indie perfumes are still not available.

I was dubious these were actually as photorealistic as people were claiming. Coming from someone who loves all gourmands and loves scents like Pink Sugar, this collection is ridiculously photorealistic. I'm not exaggerating, this whole line is so realistically a bakery that it would be considered unwearable by anyone who's not obsessed with sweet scents. First of all, I had issues saying whether this is a male or female fragrance because it's so photo realistic that it's hard to gender. It does smell like a chocolate fudge brownie. There's something like a distinctly dark chocolate smell to it (might also be the rum?) that makes it less overbearingly sweet but it is... intense. I'm not a fan of the bottle design but if you do want to smell like dark chocolate melting in a bakery this is a great option. These are greatly achieved fragrances and they don't have that awful alcohol opening that many cheap perfumes carry. It also projects like crazy even though this specific one doesn't have the best longevity out of the line. If you're looking for straight up realistic, bakery gourmands that have no floral notes at all, look into these.

Choco Overdose arrived in the mail yesterday. This fragrance reminds me very strongly of BBW Chocolate Amber. It is lighter/more sheer than expected. I am mostly getting amber and benzoin, with chocolate in the background. This fragrance does stick around, though--I could still smell the amber notes on fabric twelve hours later. Smells a bit masculine on the sprayer but dries down perfectly unisex. This is a very wearable chocolate fragrance for both genders and very versatile. I expected a more youthful fragrance; this is a gourmand for adults. Will update this over time! Update: Chocolate is continuing to show up more after a few days of maceration. Amber is less prominent after about five days. Getting a balsamic note at times which I assume will go away with further maceration. Will probably leave this alone for now. I’ll check back on this fragrance in 3-4 weeks. Edit: After several months of maceration, this is now 100% chocolate brownie. Let it sit, it takes some time to macerate but it does get there in the end!

When I 1st sprayed this there was something masculine in the initial 1st second. Then it quickly started drying down to a very fudgy/chocolate scent. I can tell that the notes need time to balance out and macerate, but I'm def vibing with this so far. The closest it's giving would be Choc Musk. Like this is a chocolate through and through scent. Most chocolate scents have orange or some fruity note in the background, but this is a solid chocolate scent. I see people comparing it to Chocolate Greedy, but they are not the same. CG has orange and dried fruit notes in it...this is straight chocolate. For me this will do very well in the colder months, giving a sweet, and warm/cozy gourmand vibe. ...And of course I love the bottle, it is so cute. The chocolate has little bits of gold on it like if you were to get chocolate with edible gold foil...the details that went into the packaging are def on point.

It does have a similar musk to Tiramisu Coco like milotic said, and I think they use the same “chocolate” note. But I hated Tiramisu Coco because of the almond, I think. This is better because it doesn’t have that, but it’s not amazing. It’s decent/good. I’ll use it probably, but I would not repurchase. Kinda thinking that I should have gone with Cookie Crave from this line, but I have Cookie Bite (by another brand) and wanted to see what the chocolate in this one was like. Not horrible, but you get what you pay for, I guess. I also don’t love the bottles. They’re sort of cute but almost in a tongue-in-cheek way.

Pure, literal chocolate fudge. It opens dense, thick, and hyper-realistic, smelling exactly like fresh-baked brownies or cake batter. Absolutely no complex floral notes or fruits here, more of a solid, linear block of milk chocolate, caramel, and vanilla that stays sweet for hours. Performance is great for the price, A must-have for hardcore gourmand lovers. If you love this ultra-edible vibe, but arent so fond of the packaging or price, you could also consider getting Chocolate Fudge by Tubbees, it hits that exact same heavy, direct bakery sweet spot for a even cheaper price.

Just got a decant. Smells like sweet milk chocolate. After wearing Montale chocolate greedy for some time, this feels almost too real and edible to wear on its own. I guess it would be good for layering, but probably won't wear it on its own. Update: it IS good for layering, if you want to add more chocolate.

Resembles “Chocolate Fudge” by Tubbees a lot, but I actually think that this one is a lot more bearable for a daily wear. The smell of this perfume is still pretty chocolate-y and it’s almost photorealistic but definitely not to the point where I need to be on the mood to not feel nauseous. Cute perfume

Very photogenic chocolate in my opinion! rich and creamy. I love chocolate notes but this one has to be even a bit too edible for my tastes but very yummy sweet gourmand if that’s what you are looking for! 🍫🍩

The chocolate fudge top note is very accurate. As the top note fades away, it turns into something more buttery, with a hint of cacao. Since im a sweet tooth, I like this fragrance : )

If you like Choco Overdose Lattafa but not its lack of longevity. Then get Delicious Choco Dream Le Bonheur Perfumes, because this one..... last longer and project farther

It has a nice chocolatey smell. Sweet but has a strong pronounced dark cocoa vibe. I strongly disagree with anyone saying this isn't sweet, it's plenty sweet for me.

Smells just like a hot brownie. Absolutely love it!! Now would I wear it? Personally no, I love the smell, but I wouldn't want to smell like a brownie or chocolate.

I bought a sample and it smells like a dark chocolate Brownie with a hint of mens cologne. The only thing I hate is longevity. Last 4 hours on me.

Why the low rate? This is one of the best and most realistic gourmound I sniffed latetly, realistic and natural scent.

Hola! So, I have been dreaming about this perfume since the first day I saw the article about its launch. I have read all the reviews and seen all the tik toks and YouTube videos about it and I decided to blind buy it; it arrived today and I immediately sprayed it the French way. I am slightly disappointed :-( I have been looking for a realistic smell of chocolate for ages, but at first, all I get is a plastic smell, like the plastic from the lid, overpowering any possibility of detecting a chocolate smell, then there is a sweet smell, generic sweet smell, not chocolate just "sweet" Like brand new plastic dolls; then it settles and if I force myself to imagine it, I can detect the slightest chocolate smell of chocolate bites, but only if I focus and think hard about chocolate. What a disappointment; I'll keep it because the bottle is cute and the smell is passable, but I feel like crying.

Bought ‘Choco Overdose’ as an early Christmas present for my partner who has been using up my absolutely decadent ‘Cookie Crave’ like its his job. I thought this was going to be THE Chocolate of Chocolates, but this is just ‘Coco Tiramisu,’ which is just a choco-centric ‘Amore Cafe.’ The much better developed ‘Cookie Crave’ outsells this by miles. I think the cookie aspect there brings a balance that makes it more interesting than this. At the very least its still better than ‘Chocolate Greedy.’ 🥸 Happy to have in my collection, but I’m not impressed; especially when the sister flanker release is so much more palatable. 🤧.

Choco Overdose from the Give Me Gourmand series ended up being my least favorite. It’s not a bad fragrance at all, but in a strange way it doesn’t really feel like a perfume. It smells like melted chocolate left on your skin after eating chocolate in the summer. In the long run, it could become a bit nauseating. The longevity and projection are average, and it leans unisex. In short, it smells like you melted a chocolate bar and rubbed it onto your skin. It ranks 6th in my Give Me Gourmand series ranking.

If you want CHOCOLATE - this is the one. It does smell boozy in the beginning, but man, this is a dense chocolate. This gives chocolate bar vibes, a rich chocolate cake. The first time I wore it, it honestly reminded me of those Rainbow brownies. This is the most unique chocolate perfume I have and I really like it. There is a bitter coffee note as well as some smokiness, but I don't mind. In fact, it's what really helps this perfume have its richness and depth. I love it!

This smells like I stuck my head in a big box of cocoa powder. I'm not sure how I feel about it, I can almost feel the granules of powder when I sniff it. Don't really have time to decide whether or not I like it, though, because it fades away almost immediately! I think by itself it's quite lackluster, but with other gourmands it would add a nice chocolatey note, even if it's gone within 10 minutes.

It's ok. It kinda has a cherry suryp note that is overwhelming. There are other chocolate scents that are way better.

I love the smell of chocolate but to my nose this smells like chocolate liqueur. If you want a grown up spicy powdery chocolate scent, then this maybe up your alley. For me personally, I wouldn’t wear this on its own, maybe layered with something. I’ve had my bottle for 4 months now and it has smoothed out a little but hasn’t changed enough for me to want to wear it. I have been trying so hard to find a pure chocolate scent and so far the closest I’ve found is Tubbees chocolate fudge. For some reason that fragrance gets a lot of hate, but I love it and it smells exactly like the name. I also tried choco brown by khadlaj and that one smells kinda like Ferrero chocolate but huge emphasis on the hazelnuts (not a fan of that one)

The chocolate is definitely there, but it smells more like dark coco powder, rather than a bar of chocolate. I don't smell any cupcake, caramel or vanilla, so there is absolutely no balance with the coco in this perfume. Almost unusable on its own. It also has this weird note that Khamrah also had that overpowers everything in the dry down - I call it the flatulence note, since it smells a bit like well...farts sprinkled with sugar. To my nose, it is uncanny how much this and Khamrah smell alike in the drydown since they are completely different note wise, but the resemblance is there like copy paste with that damn flatulence note - one is spicy (khamrah) and the other is powdery(choco overdose) though.

I was very critical of the bottle, as I thought it was too childish, but as I was looking for a chocolate perfume, I decided to just buy this. I have to say, the bottle is actually nice and very well presented. The perfume starts with a delightful rich dark chocolate note. Unfortunately that is short lived. Within 20 minutes I get a syrupy boozy note which I already smelt in Teriaq Intense and Ana Abiyedh Scarlet. Now, I don't dislike it but, in the drydown, the 3 perfumes smell very similar. This is not what I was hoping for. It turns out the best feature is indeed the cute bottle 🧁🍫

Smells like i opened a packet of Rafaello Rocher. The coconut ones. Its been 30 mins and i just dont smell anything else. Im incredibly dissatisfied with this since it promised to be chocolate, and i have coconut :( Its a 1ml spray i bought from a site online so maybe they messed it up somehow but i cant know that, so im judging by my nose.

I thought I was going to love this, I love a gourmand but this is not it, it smells like dark chocolate but that’s literally all I can smell, can’t smell any other notes so the whole fragrance is overpowering. I’m going to let it sit for a while and see if it macerates.

I have been looking for a chocolate perfume, so I am keen to try this. The bottle is un-necessarily childish though...

This smelled like Chocolate and I hated it

Not sure what's wrong with my skin, but every single rich chocolatey scent comes off as strongly fermented soy sauce on me. I really wanted to smell like brownies, but this one, Chocolate Greedy by Montale, Just Choco by Fragrance World, the tubbees one, all of them smell like this shitty soy sauce you get at the cheapest sushi place. Unfortunately, I'll have to stick with Choco Musk as it's the only one that doesn't smell spoiled on me

simply awful. i bought it bc it was on sale at marshall’s but... it will be returned. it smells like fudge but there’s a strange coconut note in there (i’m not the biggest fan of coconut but i like it in some perfumes) which makes it smell like raffaello (which i rly don’t like). when it’s all said and done, it leaves a trace of coconut, fudge, and alcohol.

o perfume mais nojento que eu já tive o desprazer de sentir o cheiro notas de topo perfeitas pra vc experimentar na loja e comprar, mas notas de corpo e base nojentas que assemelham a um chocolate de licor de rum mas RUIM e mal trabalhado só serve pras notas de topo, sinceramente.

you could probably kill someone with how heavy this scent is. It does have chocolate-y notes but it is sort of stinky. I don't like it. Not a safe blind buy

After excitedly unboxing all six Give Me Gourmand cupcakes, I couldn’t help myself, I had to do a quick spray test. Patience is not my strong suit when anything gourmand is involved. But it became clear pretty quickly that these need some maceration time to really show what they’re made of. Right now, I get a fleeting whisper of chocolate that vanishes after 2-3 minutes, like it changed its mind and walked straight out the door. What’s left behind is a strong metallic, synthetic benzoin/tonka vibe (very much in the same family as Armaf Odyssey Dubai Chocolat and Khadlaj Caffe Latte), with only the faintest touches of vanilla and caramel trying their best in the background. I’m definitely going to revisit them after a proper rest period, because I’m hoping (and manifesting) that the chocolate will finally come out to play and the whole composition will smooth out and harmonise. Maceration Update: Well... the wait paid off. After some solid downtime, Choco Overdose decided to stop being shy and turned into full-on chocolate heaven. The cocoa note is now genuinely overdosed, in the best, most mouth-watering way possible. It transformed from “blink and you’ll miss it” to “rich, creamy, super gourmand.” The difference is real and giving it time was absolutely worth it.

Chocolate is sickeningly sweet, edible and boozy ! They definitely forgot to add "rum " in the notes; it's very prominent. Rum chocolate sponge cake with cholocate ganashe , super feminite super sweet, kinda sexy. Absolutely edible 100%. Hard to wear , but ill admit , well done ! For the price if you have a sweet tooth this will amply satisfy you ! It does not have "too much" to envy to many niche chocolate gourmand perfumes i own with one extra zero in the price. So have fun ! Go for it if every now and then you want to smell deliciously edible. Please do not use this daily or a signature scent ( i'm saying this for your coworkers ). Packaging is so premium and fun to own !

Choco Overdose is a very deep, rich, fudgey type of chocolate smell. I’m a baker, it smells like a batch of triple chocolate brownies if I’m honest. I wasn’t sure how i felt about it at first because I was expecting something maybe sweeter, but the dry down is very nice I kept sniffing my arm! If you’re expecting a stronger/longer lasting version of something like choco musk you will be disappointed. It’s not a super sweet vanilla base chocolate to my nose at all. It’s veryy deep and rich - not juvenile at all.

My partner walked into the room and said “oh there is a funny smell” and crinkled his nose . I said is it this and he said “yes” I asked him what it smelt like and he said just something odd. I too tried to get myself to like it but I get a burnt tire note somehow. So another one not for me. This is #40 out of 114 I’m trying to use before I buy a new one

L'éclair Lattafa bottle it was on limit to tolerate, this série bottle are completely unnecessary, too much childish. I will wait to see what people say about this one, the notes call to me, I like chocolate notes, but maybe if I get, I'm seriously think to decant the fragrance to other recipient spray.

I don’t agree that Latafa wins on packaging with this one—it looks cheap, like something from China. On top of that, the cap falls off every time I test it in the store. As for the scent, it’s nowhere near a 'chocolate heaven.' Nope, nope, nope

I really don’t know how to feel! Time and time again I’ve eaten my words after maceration so I remain hopeful. Upon first sniff, I’m met with cacao powder, settling into benzoin. Super spicy and everything but gourmand. Will be reporting back.

I love the smell of this fragrance and I brought it straight away. When I put it on my skin, smelt amazing but after 15-30 mins. Literally went away. Wished it lasted longer or could find a fragrance like this that actually lasts
