Classic Stone

Classic Stone is a hidden gourmand delight from Lattafa. It's so hard to keep up with releases from most of these Middle Eastern brands these days, which is why not every fragrance gets the limelight. The opening hits like hot chocolate and cacao—kind of reminiscent of Montale Intense Café with tiny citrus accord—while the spicy cardamom and saffron add a fiery kick. The sweetness I get from the opening is unlike anything I’ve smelled before. It’s rich, creamy (but not overly milky), with a smooth coffee and caramel undertone. That distinct, delicious-yet-mature opening almost reminds me of a candy called Alpenliebe from my country. As it settles, the soft suede and violet add a velvety touch to the blend. I definitely get the suede in this fragrance—it draws me in. I love how suede can feel like leather, but softer and more enjoyable when combined with vanilla, especially in sweet blends like this (think Babycat, or maybe Lattafa Ishq Al Shuyukh Gold). When the dry down arrives, you're left with a woody, sweet nuance. I can’t say I smell the oakmoss, but the spices, woods, cacao, and a faint trace of saffron remain prominent. Honestly, the note breakdown doesn’t do justice to how delicious this fragrance is. It’s said that this was inspired by Parfums de Marly Althair—but with a twist. Then again, isn’t Art of Nature II from Lattafa already taking that route? Well, I guess Lattafa decided to give Liquid Brun some real competition—maybe Art of Nature II just wasn’t cutting it. The performance on this one is insane. I mean, you can’t expect anything less from a Niche Emarati. 12hrs+ on my skin with heavy sillage/projection. I'd recommend this to lovers of Althair DNA. The quality on this one is so good, and the performance is way above the pass mark.

This is some very high quality juice that's in there. Very Natural smell. The niche emarati line has a very natural/realistic scent profile. This is to me the best clean vanilla scent Lattafa has ever released. It smells better than Althair and LB. (To me at least) Smells closer to Arabiyat Prestige Lutfa than the other 2. It's 10/10 blind buy safe. However heat damage can make it smell a bit medicinal. Mine is still very fresh and smells none of that. It's INTOXICATING! Very satisfied with this purchase. I like it as much as my Liquid Brun Limited Edition. It doesn't smell synthetic like LB and has more depth. If you like sweet PDM Althair DNAs, it's a must. If you have LB limited edition it's not redundant. But if you have Arabiyat Prestige Lutfa, it's redundant but is a very big upgrade! Update after 2 weeks: It projects on clothes for more than 12hrs. I smelt it all day long! It seems to never go away on clothes. On skin it takes like 8hours to become a skin scent. Incredible longevity!

Smells like a 250 dollar Middle Eastern niche take on the Althair DNA with much more spices and darker notes (the lightly roasted Arabic coffee beans will certainly standout in any crowd and gives Classic Stone a more mature and upscale vibe). Performance is exceptional by any standard and another reason why I would rate this a 10/10. It's not for everybody though and if you want a more mass appealing and also high quality and affordable take on this DNA I would advice you to look into Afnan Historic Sahara. I might like this one even more than Khanjar - another masterpiece - from the same brand. Many Middle Eastern brands have really stepped up their game in recent years and Classic Stone is another example of a 38 Euros (at least that's what I paid) fragrance that completely blows many fragrances that are 3 or even 5 times as expensive completely out of the water in terms of smell AND performance.

I have seen influencers saying this a more mature/masculine version of Althair. I totally disagree. Now this is a very,very high quality perfume. This is spiced caramel toffee scent. Very strong and unique but actually sweeter and more unisex than something like liquid brun which to me leans more on a masculine side. Women will notice it and you will get asked what you are wearing ( tested ) but do not expect a more masculine althair. Smells way more expensive for what this sells for though. Perfect date/night scent, autumn/winter. This niche emarati line is very high quality.

Firstly, in my opinion this stands on it's own without being what I would consider a "clone", per se and this might be why it goes under the radar. It is unique. The suede and cumin are quite strong but they are what gives Classic Stone it's own legs to stand on. The blend of spices are as intense as they look but none of them come across "dirty". The violet in the opening and underpinnings of ambergris keep it just light enough that it strays from smelling like an Indian restaurant. It has a sweet, savoury body with great sillage and staying power.

A mature twist on Althair, roasted coffee+cacao beans+cumin+clove spread over a suede sheet. Sweet as something naturally sweet and not sugared. Has a bitter facet that prevents it from being juvenile. Very interesting and absolutely not redundant if you have any Althair alternative. A few brazilian youtubers have reviewed this and they are spot on about it.

This is a bold fragrance but absolutely delicious. Not a safe blind buy unless you love the spicy notes. It layers well with everything in my opinion and it is the perfect spicy, woody & vanilla base. I get a lot of gourmand with all of the spices mixed in. I don't pick up the saffron or violet on my skin but definitely get the osmanthus note.

Looks like Lattafa are putting out a different notes list for this. According to my most recent booklet notes are: Top: Orange Flower, Cardamom Heart: Coffee, Amaretto, Vanilla Base: Guiac Wood, Amber, Tonka Bean No wonder people say it smells like Althair! There is definitely a similarity, just add coffee/Amaretto for a lattafa style twist.

Potente e delicioso. Gourmand absolutamente perfeito, não extrapola os limites de doçura porque é bem equilibrado com as especiarias, tem cheiro de alguma comida com chocolate, é simplesmente magnífico, lembra muito o Mercedes Benz Club Black, porém eu acho esse melhor.

@Spoonofslurry I'm looking in the blue Niche Emarati Perfumes by Lattafa booklet that was provided me with either Classic Stone or Dream of Haze. Either way, the notes listed in the booklet I have in hand DOES agree with the notes listed here on Fragrantica..

Esse perfume é maravilhoso, na saída já é um pouco adocicado e bem especiado, meio amargo, conforme vai secando essa parte especiada sai um pouco e ele fica mais doce, um cheiro de chocolate muito bom. 10/10

Oh myyy. This is Althair and all others role model. Classic Stone is what the rest want to be when they grow up. Picture this, Althier profile with roasted coffee and hints of chocolate ... this is magical!

Its just a great perfume , niche version of althair . Just buy it . 10/10 on scent and performance and price

Nose Note #714 This is substantially different from other Althair clones. I can't describe how exactly. Perhaps it's the suede note. And it just doesn't have the same vanilla and cinnamon. Also I don't know who's voting for it being "eternal". It's just like the other clones. I'll give it further evaluation though. I have to say I enjoy it less than the other clones, but I think it's made to be more accessible. I really think Althair DNA is far from being a crowd pleaser. 7.5/10, expected more from it considering the higher price

Swiss Miss powdered cocoa mix. This is what you will smell like wearing this. If you like chocolate gourmand fragrances Classic Stone is for you. It also projects well and is long lasting.

PAPER STRIP TEST: Upon first sniff, this scent DNA is immediately recognizable as a spinoff of BDK’s “Gris Charnel” or Lataffa’s “Liam Grey.” Whereas both use iris for their mild powdery note, this uses violet (one of my olfactory enemies). Not listed here but I also get a black tea note. That could, however, be my nose playing tricks on me. The osthmanthus brightens up the fragrance and the clove note brings about an inviting chai accord. Truthfully the internal spray is screechy and cloying, but the dry down is pleasant. I plan to do a skin test soon. As of now, this reads as a slightly more earthy, bright and warm than “Liam Gray.”

Too mature and heavy if you're in your 50's Compared to other Lattafa fragrances like Ramz Silver which is fun and youthful, Classic Stone is the exact opposite. It smells very 'old' very heavy on the leather and dry notes. It feels like a fragrance for a formal event in the 80s. It’s not a bad quality scent, but it's definitely not for young people or fans of modern perfumery.

This is a great semi-sweet gourmand leaning masculine fragrance. It gives off a nice spiced dark cocoa powder aroma with cardamom and nutmeg. Almost like a brooding spiced dark hot chocolate drink with a slight underlying sweetness. I have no idea why influencers and reviewers are relating this fragrance to Altäir. The are no orange blossom florals, amped up sweetness, or nose stinging ambroxan. Not related at all in my opinion besides maybe some underlying vanilla. Great quality and longevity too. For $40 it’s a steal.

Vanilla romance from Bbw smells like it’s trying to dupe this. I put classic stone on today for the first time and it immediately smelled like the lotion I had from Bbw. Absolutely beautiful!

Sweet, but not annoyingly sweet, spicy, woodsy, floral, kind remind me of some Lutens fragrances. Awesome smell with good performance.

The notes for Mind Games are nothing like the notes for this new Lattafa "Classic Stone". So not sure it's a clone of Mind Games.
