Fakhar Platin

I definitely let the negative reviews and non-positive comments surrounding this one prevent me from just going for it. It’s been popping up at Burlington on and off for several months now, and at first I honestly thought it was Fakhar Black because it had been so long since I’d seen that one in stores that I forgot what the packaging even looked like. Every time I saw the all-silver box, I just assumed that’s what it was. For the longest time, I never cared much for the modern “designer fresh” approach. I’ve been collecting fragrances for decades, and while I never hated fresh fragrances, I also never found them especially worth my attention or investment. Something shifted over the last several months though. Fresh fragrances have quietly become my guilty pleasure, and despite having a very diverse collection spanning clones, niche, designer, and house-blended creations, these easy, clean reaches have started getting the most wear from me. Recently, I specifically went out looking for this one. I walked into Burlington, spotted it immediately from the door, picked it up, and then made the same mistake I’d made several times before: I pulled out my phone and started reading reviews again. I walked away from it. Then later I thought, “You know what? Forget it,” and ordered it online anyway for a few dollars less. I’m glad I did. At the current price point — sub-$30, or around $30 at Burlington — this feels like a complete no-brainer to me. If you enjoy soapy, clean fragrances with a modern fresh style, this absolutely delivers. The guava note adds a pleasant sweetness without becoming cloying or syrupy. My bottle was produced in March 2025, and I honestly think that older production date may help a bit because I’m not getting any harshness, bathroom-cleaner vibes, or abrasive synthetic sharpness that some people describe. Is it synthetic? Of course it is. Most modern perfumery is heavily synthetic. That criticism alone doesn’t really move me anymore because it’s simply the reality of the industry. I’ve never personally sampled Y Elixir, so I can’t comment on how close this gets. Honestly, outside of it being a fresh fragrance, I don’t smell this and immediately think “Y flanker.” What I do get is a super soapy, clean opening with a woody, metallic, slightly smoky drydown that I find genuinely addictive. Ironically, one reviewer specifically mentioned that the opening was good but that the guava and palo santo drydown was “disgusting.” That exact comment was one of the reasons I kept walking away from it every time I saw it in stores. Now that I own it, that drydown is probably my favorite part. I find it magnetic. That’s the tricky thing with fragrances once your collection gets large enough. You try to be smart and selective because you already own everything from clones to niche to designers and beyond. Reviews can absolutely influence you, sometimes too much. For anyone interested in this style of fragrance, I think this is genuinely good. It does enough differently to justify its existence, even in a collection full of blues and fresh fragrances. I own plenty of YSLs and similar styles already, and this still carves out its own space for me. It’s easy to wear, easy to enjoy, and just smells good. I will agree with others on one point: if you’re searching for a dead-on, one-to-one recreation of the fragrance this is commonly compared to, this apparently isn’t considered the closest interpretation. Personally, I don’t fully believe in the idea of true one-to-one clones anyway. Fragrances always wear differently depending on skin, environment, and formulation. Still, this has enough individuality that it doesn’t feel redundant. And honestly, much like what happened with Fakhar Gold, this fragrance will probably push me to eventually sample and buy the scent it’s supposedly inspired by. The guava never becomes annoying or overly pungent to my nose. If anything, it gives the fragrance personality. Now that the bottle has some air in it and time to settle in my cabinet, I suspect it’ll only improve further. You could do far worse for the money. If you already know you enjoy these notes and understand the type of fragrance this is aiming to be, there’s a lot to appreciate here. I’ve been focusing more on building up my designer collection lately and moving slightly away from clones, but this ended up being a pickup I’m genuinely happy with. No regrets whatsoever. Paid around $24 from a respected online seller, and I couldn’t be happier adding it to the collection.

Explore the Scent #2 It took me some time to truly appreciate this fragrance. The first time I smelled it, it felt a bit messy and unblended. But with many Middle Eastern brand, letting the bottle sit for a while really helps the juice mature and smooth everything out. After letting it macerate for a couple of months, it turned into something genuinely beautiful. The opening bursts with guava, dominating the composition right away. You can clearly pick up the pink pepper and cardamom, giving the fragrance a sweet yet slightly spicy character. I didn't detect bergamot yet since the guava notes really prominent. After around 10 minutes, the guava starts to calm down, and the lavender and ginger begin to shine. This phase feels very aromatic and refreshing. I also get hints of geranium or white musk that create a clean “fresh hotel linen” or luxury spa vibe. There’s a subtle herbal nuance here that I absolutely love, and honestly, this is my favorite part of the fragrance. The dry down becomes a bit thicker and creamier. The palo santo and sandalwood take over while traces of the aromatic middle phase still linger softly in the background. I don’t detect much incense personally, unless it’s simply contributing to the herbal nuance from the mid. I’ve never smelled YSL Elixir before, but if it smells anything like this, I’d probably fall in love with it too. To me, this works perfectly as a daily driver for someone around 27–35 years old. It’s not overly mature, but not overly youthful either. It balances elegance and playfulness really well, especially with the guava note adding a unique twist. Performance-wise, I get a solid 7–8 hours on skin with around 1.5–2 hours of strong projection. It lasts even longer on clothes until you wash them. - Scent: 8.5/10 - Performance: 7/10 - Versatility: 10/10 Another solid release from Lattafa 🔥

Idk what dude below me is talkin about, this fragrance is a 10/10. The Longevity is about 6-10 hours with the Projection being strong on its first 1-2 hours, and then its projection becoming moderate, then around the 7 hour mark it becomes a intimate skin scent. It's kind of a sweet vanilla-lavender woody scent, which knowing me, I love sweet fragrances. The dry-down on this is amazing. Theres no synthetic smell or nothing. If you're thinking of purchasing this or getting this for a fragrance friend, go for it. you/they will love it.

A great twist on YSL Y Elixir DNA, it smells like a woody bar soap, even better and more pleasant, YSL Y elixir smells dryer to me, i was worried when i wore it to work yesterday, after hour 4 i couldn't smell myself anymore but luckily i walked by two coworkers about 6 feet away, those ladies were looking at me and made comments saying, "you smell just like a man should smell" and we engaged in perfume conversation, this is a winner fragrance in my book!!

Update after a few months: the guava bomb is now evident. This is a super soapy fresh blue rather than an acquatic blue. I haven’t smelled Y elixir but this isn’t close to the rest of the Y line so I doubt it. Remains a nice gym or office scent, easily wearable, I don’t love it but it’s hard to hate. You won’t offend anyone wearing this. It also projects decently for a freshie. Longevity lasts maybe 5 hours or so. Not much else to say here.

The Guava note sets this apart from its predecessor. Fakhar black is perfect. This just adds a note of Guava and also boosts the originals longevity and performance. But for some, thats not cool. They didnt want the extra. I get that. But dont hate this for not being that. If you like the original, by all means. But come at this fragrance with a new set of nostrils realizing its not the original but a flank. 8.9/10

This one isn't anything crazy, but I bought it for office wear and it's perfect for this purpose. I can see how someone could not love this scent- but it's hard to see someone hating this scent. It has a very clean smell with a hint of guava. It's not too blue for winter, but would definitely work in the summer. Don't expect a unique beast and this is a fine daily driver scent for $25 or less.

I dont have much to say about this, but in simple words this is GREAT. Only wear it two times, and both of them im getting a lot of compliments, is long lasting also. This can trick you because you can thing its fades away but wrong my friend, this thing lingers all around and smack the people. Better than fakhar black.

Love this scent ..... super easy wear .... Nothing real super special here , but super clean , crisp , you can easily dress up or down ! Smells more expensive, great silliage . It will definitely be one of my spring to summer go too’s . It’s not a must have , but it’s definitely versatile.

This stuff smells absolutely amazing It's a very sophisticated scent, very fresh, slightly sweet and very very wearable. It has the Y DNA, but it has this subtle sweetness as it dries down from the guava that makes it sooo pleasant to smell. 9/10

I enjoy this fragrance as a standalone fragrance. I haven't smelled any of the fragrances it's supposed to be duping, But to me it's a fresh all year 'round scent. I do wish projection was better but that's ok. It smells good.

The first time you spray this perfume, you will realise it has nothing to do with the usual YSL DNA, and that is probably why some people are complaining. I find it so uniquely fresh and inoffensive.

Received this today and I think it smells great! Only sprayed in the air and on each wrist so haven’t had a full wear yet. But off initial spray I like this a lot! Good for any season!

im ngl the guava in this is so good. i love the smell. works amazing during the winter and still projects under rain fall too. smells 80 percent similar to the OG.

If you wanted Y elixir, this is it, but a bit more vibrant and fruity with the guava. No reason to rate it a 1/10, this is a way better deal than Y elixir.

I don’t know how people compare this to YSL Y Elixir — to my nose, they really don’t smell alike. I’ve smelled all the YSL Y flankers, and if anything, Fakhar Silver is much closer to YSL Y EDP. But this one? Not at all. To me, Platin is basically a guava bomb. The first spray hits you with a bit of ginger, but after that, the dry down is straight-up guava juice — super aromatic and completely focused on that juicy guava vibe. It lasts a surprisingly long time too, with strong projection and solid performance for something that just hit the market. If you enjoy a guava note, you’ll probably like this one. The opening has a slightly synthetic feel at first, but as it dries down, it gets more and more pleasant. The ginger gives it a touch of spice, but overall it’s an aromatic, fruity guava scent through and through. I honestly don’t get any Y Elixir vibes from it — maybe that’s just my nose, but I stand by it!

A clone twist of Yves Saint Laurent Y Elixir. At first it's bright citrusy (bergamot), a little tropical (guava) and a little spicy (pink pepper + cardamom). The heart takes on a freshness with ginger and aromatic lavender. The base settles to this creamy, smoky palo santo, sandalwood, and incense. I have interpretations of this specific dna; Platin is the most youthful. Zimaya Abadi Opulent Blue EDP is darker, denser, and smokier than Y Elixir itself, for the obviously more mature and dressed up take. French Avenue Ripple EDP is the green soapy twist for when I want to wear something more mature but also feel clean. All three take the dna in different directions, so it becomes a choose your own adventure depending on your mood. That's where YSL is fun with Y and MYSLF because the dnas are not complex and can be splintered multiverse style to get some interesting takes.

This is just a great blue scent. It's one of those that you can do a quick grab for any occasion. It's fresh, lightly spiced and lightly minted. I dries down soft and fresh. It's a standard crowd pleaser that just doesn't offend and will be enjoyed by many. If I had to list a negative it would be that I own many blue scents that pretty much smell like this one. I blind bought this one and was expecting it to be bad because I read some negative reviews but I'm really enjoying this one and see nothing wrong with it. (Edit) The day I wrote this review is my first day wearing it. I just had to come add that I'm only 3hrs into my day at work and already I got a compliment on this scent. Like I mentioned it's a basic fresh blue scent that's easy to like.

I just received Lattafa Fakhar Platin not really knowing what to expect since I do not have any of the YSL colognes. I thought I would blind buy this since it's not very expensive and just give it a chance. So far, right out of the box it's a nice, professional office type scent. Masculine for sure but not in a Tom Ford Ombre Leather way. Again, so far, it's pleasant, smooth as in non-abrasive to the ofactory senses, clean and just down right nice. I have no idea as to the longevity of it yet, but I did spray it several times onto my skin and clothes to see. Other adjectives that come to mind, mature, light...not a heavy scent whatsoever and distinctive. I like it so far.

Nose Note #763 One reviewer said the guava note is done halfway and is unnatural. Yes. Can't say I loke the whole thing at all. It smells like a Schweppes tonic - strong bitter and sour grapefruit feeling. It's better in the air than upclose, but still. Feels very cold. Very strong. Not a typical freshie. Unique? Yeah, you can say so. Stands out. But don't like it. 6/10, no connection UPD: I really started to like this a lot after I got Ripple. But I must say, Ripple is just ten times better in every way. Amazing performance for a fresh scent, just amazing and projection is crazy. But Ripple has a better blend. This smells slightly cheap 7.3/10, yeah, that's more like it

I live in Canada. At stores, they sell dryer sheets that make your clothes smell nice. Fakhar Platin reminds me of that, a bit floral and a touch tart/sour. Lattafa potency has gotten better over the last few years and Platin is dense and can be worn in formal and casual settings. I'm dressed for the office by 6am and can still smell this at noon. The guava note here is a bit like candy and blends in to the rest quite quickly. It's not my favourite DNA but it is clean smelling and thick. Similar to Fakhar Black, I enjoy it the more I wear it. This reminds me a lot of Joop Ice and Davidoff Game with more agreeable aroma chemicals. No regrets.

A budget-friendly attempt at the blue fragrance formula and honestly, not bad. Smells like Sauvage, Bleu de Chanel, and Y had a polite group hug... with a guava in the middle. It’s mass appealing, inoffensive, and gets the job done. Think office-safe, date-acceptable, and gym-passable. Performance? About average. Don’t expect beast mode, but you’ll get a few solid hours. What sets it apart is the tropical guava twist, which gives it a bit of personality in a sea of blue clones. Great value for the price. If you're after an easy reach that won’t hurt your wallet, this one deserves a spot on the shelf.

I bought it as It was a new product of the Fakhar line (I love YSL fragrances) and I was ultimately let down with a strong note which i don't like (guava, liquorice?), it will take some time for me to get used to it, but if between this and the Fakhar black? Buy the black if blind buying, and this one if you get the chance to smell it beforehand. It's a solid pick for the price.

A abertura dele é bem "diferente" de um perfume com fruta, acho ele bem versátil, bem fresquinho, a goiaba que ele tem diferencia dele dos outros perfumes, sinceramente EU não conheço muitos perfumes com goiaba(até então).

Fragancia limpia y fresca que trae muchísimos cumplidos. Para mí la duración y proyección no son buenas a menos que alguien esté muy muy cerca. Vale la pena si se consigue a buen precio.

Its alright. Smells like a dialed down afnan 9pm due to the extremely strong bergamot smell. And yeah smells like bathroom cleaner

A YSL Y Elixir clone with an annoying guava note to the wearer, to the crowd it smells 100% the same.

A good everyday alternative to blue scents, noticeable lavender and bergamot, great.

YSL Y Elixir is one of my favorite blue fragrances of all time, and I would love to own it someday. But Fakhar Platin? This was an unfortunate blind buy fail for me. To start, this is much brighter and airy compared to YSL Y Elixir. It's about 45% similar to me. If I smelt this in public, as someone who's very familiar with the YSL Y line, I would not recognize it as any fragrance from that line. It smells nothing like it to me. Surprisingly, it did remind me of a fragrance that was once in my collection: Suits Pour Homme. It's likely that youve never heard of this fragrance, and that's because it's 3 to 5 dollars at Five Below. Suits Pour Homme was the best mens cologne at five below, and it was cheap, so I bought it. One day, I ended up using it as room spray after my cat had stunk up the room. Instant headache. Never wore it, and gave it away after that. To describe the smell of Suits, it had that signature cheap, ozonic smell to it, it was melony, and it was fruity. And it had the longevity of cheap body spray. Fakhar Platin reminded me of Suits Pour Homme when I sprayed it. It's a much higher quality version of suits pour homme, but the scent profile was about 75% similar. Fakhar Platin was 25% better. Hopefully maceration will save this fragrance, because it smells nothing like YSL Y whatsoever. It's faintly reminiscent of it, but that's it. 4/10. Disappointed. I'll update after a few months of maceration.

It's a blue scent with a twist that I enjoy. Fakhar Platin smells great. It's loud initially, but subtle on dry down. It's there, and people will smell you; it's just smooth if that makes sense. 2 to 3 hours of solid projection, which is fine for me because this is in the gym rotation. It's still new so maybe it will have more pop over time. We shall see. Guava isn't seen often in fragrance, and from what I hear, it's not easy to do. I think they did well. I don't get clean bathroom vibes, and actually wore it today intentionally to see if I got the vibe dude below me said he got. To me, It smells like a sophisticated guy who knows how to have fun. Update 4/24/26: After wearing a few times, longevity isn’t very good. After an hour it stops projecting and becomes a scent bubble and a skin scent by hour 2. In the opening I do get the toilet cleaner smell now, but goes away after 20 minutes. Wish it lasted longer. 6/10.

My thoughts on this: - First few minutes of synthetic and sharp smell. But then dries down to a nice fruity, fresh, energising typical blue fragrance. - Daily go to fragrance. All seasons, all occasions. - The SPL is not great but still good considering the price, you can't complain. - Need maceration to make it denser and less synthetic. - Sophisticated and aromatic masculine smell. Very suitable for office and formal wear. - This will be likable and acceptable by many people around you. - Not a very unique or has any wow factor. But it does the job very well, again, considering the price. 7.5/10. Will I repeat? Yes for the price, I'll just overspray this and smell good throughout the day without thinking about my money lol. Btw if you judge this fragrance (or any fragrance) from the first few minutes after spraying (like a lot of people did), you are wrong. Always judge a fragrance after it dries down!

This is definitely a fragrance you need to let sit and mature before judging it. Straight out of the box, I honestly didn’t like it at all—the opening came off very synthetic and harsh, almost chemical-like, to the point where I didn’t even want to wear it. Fast forward about a month and a half, and it’s a completely different experience. The scent has smoothed out a lot. The initial spray is still a bit sharp, but once it dries down, it turns into a really nice fresh, fruity scent that’s much more enjoyable. Performance-wise, this is a loud fragrance, so go easy on the sprays. Overdoing it can make it overwhelming, and it still slightly gives me a headache if I apply too much. That said, when used properly, it’s a solid addition to the collection. Overall, it went from a disappointment to something I actually enjoy wearing.

I picked it up yesterday at Burlington for about $30, so I still need more time before I know where it stands. First impression? It opens with a synthetic (but not bad) guava splash. Tropical and sharp, that is not annoying, but probably unnecessary. As it settles, it gets more interesting. The drydown is smoky, aromatic, and slightly woody. The palo santo and incense add depth and make it feel more exotic and bold. Not sure yet if it was a great investment, but it’s a safe blind buy. Definitely not boring... just different. I’ll update after a few more wears.

I have a fair few YSL Y frags, but I do not possess the Elixir version, as it get mediocre reviews, and the price point seems like gouging for subpar performance. This frag without a doubt is in the YSL Y realm, and is a very safe and nice smelling frag, that could be worn anytime, and in any season. It has very nice performance, and after macerating for a few weeks, the smell has developed nicely. 8 out of 10.

It is just ok as a fragrance. Do not get the guava or ginger. The opening is metallic, at least to me. Using this when working from home or going for a quick errand

can’t remember what y elixir smells like but i can say this smells like a men’s blue bathroom, genuinely clean and somewhat soapy of a scent.

This smells like a worse version of paragon It also comes with the classic weak projection and horrible longevity. 2/10 would not recommend

#1453 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I bought Lattafa "Fakhar Black" in October 2023. Smelled like YSL "Y", like 30 other Arab clones, but without enough sillage for anyone to notice that wasn't at intimate range. It's sat in a storage case since. But given "Fakhar Platin" offered Incense and Palo Santo, a combination I've appreciated in Tom Ford "Ebene Fume" and it's Alhambra and Fragrance World dupes, Natura "Essencial Palo Santo", and a half dozen other scents, and that for most of a year I wore Cremo Palo Santo cologne and still shower with Cremo Palo Santo shower gel, and given that combining Palo Santo with Incense really ups the longevity and sillage of the Palo Santo note in the other scents I have with that combo, I really had to give this one a try. And I needn't have bothered. The initial burst of bergamot had me thinking this was just a tweak of Fakhar Black, as all I got initially was that same YSL "Y" scent with a hint of guava that neither adds nor detracts from this scent IMO. But those who have a lot of experience with the synthetic bergamot oil Lattafa uses in all their scents know that the screechy, sour citrus goes away in 15-20 minutes. So I decided to wait it out before rendering judgement. An hour in I can say there's not much in the way of any noticeable Palo Santo or Incense. It's pretty much just Fakhar Black plus guava. I see no reason for anyone to own ir or wear it. Very ho hum stuff. It's not repellant, but not attractive, and I can think three hundred colognes and EDTs I'd reach for first, such as Cremo Palo Santo, a cologne with quality equivalent to this supposed EDP. If this is your price point and you want an EDP with Palo Santo and Incense, get bottle of Fragrance World "Ebony Fume" or "Alpha", Maison Alhambra "Incense Ebony." And if you want that YSL "Y" vibe, go for the Maison Alhambra "Yeah!" which has Olibanum, or "Yeah!" parfum which has Frankincense. All are better than this stuff at the same price.

Man I think lattafa got spys in here lying to folks because I was looking forward to this with all the good reviews, i just happened to see it at Burlington so I said why not . Got home, sprayed it on my hand immediately scrubbed it off ,nothing like what I was expecting. I haven't smelled Y elixer but I've either had or smelled all the other flankers and this right here smells nothing like the Y DNA. That opening is FUNKY and it sticks around. I'll let it sit and come back to it a couple times because sometimes I just have to grow to love a fragrance. As of right now though, this is my worst blind buy in a long while.

Context: I saw Aromatrix glaze and I also saw that Jeremyfragrance's favorite ysl is y elixir and fragrantica said it was so obviously I thought this was going to be a good purchase choice. Experience: 1 week later it arrives, and man the incense is so strong i barely smell anything else, it covers up the guava and other notes. I let this sit for about a week in my drawer and it got only marginally better, so i really hope it becomes what everyone in this comment section claims it to be because as of now its just an incense bomb that is not wearable outside. pray for my bottle
