Rouat Al Oud

This is a soft and lush, stunningly beautiful oud. There is no single note shouting or masking any other notes. I have not tried Oud Ispahan, which is listed as the most common “reminds me of” fragrance. So instead I’ll compare it to another oud perfume, one that also has rose as a prominent note. Compared to Oud Satin Mood, this is sweeter, softer and more silky, less in-your-face, while at the same time it makes me want to lean in for a closer sniff and maybe a nuzzle. If these two fragrances were singers of love songs from the 1970s (my childhood), Rouat Al Oud is Barry White and Oud Satin Mood is, I don’t know, maybe Elton John. A little flashy, a lot louder, undeniably talented and catchy. But not — well, not whatever Barry White is. Go listen if you don’t immediately understand this comparison. Seeing as my budget is definitely Lattafa-zoned and not Dior, this is a fabulous find. Even if it’s not an exact dupe Rouat Al Oud is a gorgeous scent.

Nose Note #70 I already wrote about Oud Mood by Lattafa. I thought it was an oud/rose fragrance, but apparently the notes are wrong. Still I thought I smell rose and it was different from Oud Mood, yet similar, but damn how wonderful it is. Never imagined I would like oud fragrances, let alone love them. It's absolute class. Very serious, mature, very solid fragrance. It screams "expensive". So well done. To me it's perfectly unisex. At times tilting feminine, sometimes masculine. Great performance, great sillage. Just a dream fragrance if you are looking for something penetrating and thick. Not your usual designer. Very special May not be so memorable at first, if you are like me and unaccustomed to arabic perfumery, but now it's a gem in my collection. And for such a welcoming price

I got this about 4 weeks ago. The first time I sprayed this on it was oud & cedar and way too harsh, too masculine & woody for me. Was a bit dissapointed tbh. But today I tried it again, and it seems a bit smoother and sweeter. It's like the harsh edge is gone and now it reminds me of sweet woody whiskey, oud, cedar and when it dries down it gets more soapy and I smell some geranium/floral. I hope it smoothes out even more because this is really gorgeous. Was skeptical when people told me to let arabian fragances macerate, but that really is a thing and can make a big difference.

Seems a lot of Luke warm reactions. I really like this one. To me it smells like s Western scent reimagined by a middle eastern perfumer. A nice general (neo blue) scent with a good touch of middle eastern intrigue. Unusually for a middle eastern scent, this works well on a warm spring day. Works in the day, bit also at night thanks to the middle eastern aspects. No headaches for me, though the first time I sprayed it I did think it smelled a little like a hospital. Then there is the bottle. Absolutely gorgeous, looks great on a shelf.

Clean cedar with sweet fresh raspberry and warm leather on the side with oud and rose in the background. sexy, elegant, fresh, clean, mysterious, luxurious, comfy all in one bottle. Very versatile, unisex but more suitable for male due to the dominant cedar note. Decent projection and amazing longevity. At first it might stink of heavy leather so u have to let it macerate for a bit.

Such a great versatile perfume, currently my signature. long lasting, lots of depth, and medium projection after the first few hours. has an amazing rose smell, coming from someone who hates rose perfumes but this one doesn't smell rosy it j adds to the scent. the oud is strong and its j such a good smell

Nice rose oud combo with a hint of raspberry. Really like how this is done. Longevity and sillage both seem to be above average. 8.5/10. Has a very soapy feel to it. This actually borders on enormous sillage on my skin.

Having no experience with it, I can only judge Rouat Al Oud on its own merits. It's a classy fragrance, a nice blend of rose, oud, spice, leather, fruity and powdery aromas. Therein lies the rub, because oud and leather are polarizing enough on their own to some noses, let alone in a combo. The rose lightens and freshens it which makes it much more appealing. There's a surprisingly high amount of competition that shares the rose oud DNA from designer, niche and clone houses. What makes Rouat Al Oud worth the while is the great value. It clones a designer fragrance at a discount drugstore price but doesn't skimp on either the quality or the performance. Both are excellent. Rouat Al Oud is unisex. The rose and fruit notes lean it female while the oud and leather lean it male. While these balance out perfectly, users of one sex may find it leans too far the other way. This takes a certain confidence to wear, which means it's best suited for older users. A definite recommend with its incredible value.

This was one of those cheap curiosities that you add to your cart in order to save the shipping cost. It wasn't even listed on Fragrantica when I got it half a year ago. Back then, I felt like it was way too strong for me to ever find an occasion to wear it to. Now that I saw this pop up here, I gave it another try. And wow do I think differently now. Yes, it is strong. But I find it to be a very wearable oriental scent. It is pretty fruity sweet to me and woody at the same time. A slight smokey vibe too but really just a tiny bit. I guess my mistake was sniffing it right off my skin. Up close it doesn't really work for me but the scent in the air is pretty enjoyable. I don't have a lot of oriental or other kinds of oud fragrances yet that I could compare it to. But comparing it to another oriental or oud-like cheapie, Franck Olivier Oud Touch, to me personally this actually seems more wearable and more likeable to inexperienced European noses. The sweetness reminds me of Shaghaf Oud, although I didn't get to compare them side-by-side yet. All in all, the regret of having spent 15 Euros per 100ml pointlessly seems to be turning into appreciation for this scent.

On opening that raspberry note is STRONG---the exact same smell as Smirnoff raspberry vodka for the first few minutes, which almost put me off entirely. It quickly disappates into a softer, duskier rose, with a creamy spiciness and a strong, almost sharp leather. It's delicate and almost dusty to me, reminding me of an old woolen sweater you might find in your grandfather's drawer, soft with age and yet warm and cozy, somehow stylish despite its maturity. The oud and cedar underneath is very handsome to me, and certainly tilts more masculine, even though the raspberry and rose certainly could lean much more feminine in another frag. I'm struck by how classy and almost dandyish it is: like an elegant young man in a silk scarf reading Wilde in an old library. Like my other Lattafa fragrances, I would not be suprised if this one got a lot better after a few weeks in a cool dark cabinet. Although I'm pleasantly suprised at the texture and depth of this $16 fragrance, I am very excited to see how those base note woods and the amber note develops after some maceration.

I love finding Arabian perfumes that feel original. Rouat Al Oud and Rouat Al Musk are just beautiful inside and out. While they are different scent profiles, I love how I can smell the same bright freshness in both of them- a dna that makes them clearly related. And they dry down to pure sophistication. How are these so inexpensive??? These two are day and night for my clean and complex lovers. Freshness not overly done but well blended and maintained even with the addition of florals in Rouat Al Musk and Oud and spices in Rouat Al Oud. Gorgoreus! Truly unisex and very wearable without being bland, tired, or boring and while being long lasting... I’m so satisfied with these two😍😍 Btw: this fragrance has NOTHING to do with Oud Satin Mood. Also, the notes here seem to be very wrong, I detect zero florals or raspberry. This is a clean and softly spicy oud that is wearable year round. I like this. Bright, somewhat rosy, sweet & sour, fruity, woody, oud-centric and a bit unusual. Not just another typical rose oud. In my experience Lattafas have been hit or miss. For me, this is a good one. It isn't listed in the notes but I concur with other reviewers - I get tamarind here, along with patchouli over cedar & amber with hints of saffron & musk. The prominent rose note fades back slightly after a few minutes. Decent longevity. As with most inexpensive Arabians, endurance has improved as the juice has matured. After a year or so I'm getting 6-8 hours (and I spray lightly). Projection is good for the first 11⁄2 hours. I'd say it's good for all four seasons & appropriate to most occasions. Quality is quite high for the price point. A screaming deal for something that's just a little off the beaten path.

This seriously grew on me. Not sure if it macerated or I just got more familiar with the notes since it was my first fragrance with a lot of rose or a lot of oud, but now I really enjoy this stuff. Very unique profile compared to most of what’s on the market right now in the west—especially for younger audiences. Strictly a winter scent in my opinion. This is one of the few fragrances that my nose just refuses to go blind to—even after wearing it for 3-4 hours. Insanely good price at ~$18 right now for a genuinely high-end product. Bottle is simply art. Rating: 7/10

I have a difficult with oud: I want to cherish it as the note has a rich history especially on the Arabian Peninsula. At the same time, I usually find it too spicy and overpowering for myself, and nowadays with the widespread availability and popularity of arabian fragrances its use has become somewhat too commercial. This is my first purchase from Lattafa Perfumes and the bottle of this perfume is pure poetry. Right now, I'm still bonding with the scent. It's an oud scent that feels ambery and warm on my skin.

intense and highly concentrated laundry detergent that smells like it cost you a fortune. pretty good! the oud and rose notes are very potent. you can definitely smell the leather too. there's a faint fruity undertone to this fragrance, but i'm not sure if it's necessarily raspberry, as opposed to the notes listed on here. if done right, i can imagine it being an all-year-round scent. the longevity and sillage are incredible for a price this low.

Definitely smells really good, but not for everyone. It has that classic Middle Eastern vibe basic oud with a hint of sweetness and a little twist. If you’re not used to Middle Eastern perfumes, it might not be your thing. I like it, though it’s hard to find the right occasion to wear and tricky to layer. Longevity is amazing.

If you're looking for an Oud Ispahan clone, go for it. I find Rouat al Oud much closer to Oud Ispahan than to MFK or Guerlain. It would be interesting to make a comparison between Oudh Al Boruzz Rooh Al Assam (Rasasi), Bling Noir (Ajmal) and Rouat al Oud since all of them seem to be amazing clones for Oud Ispahan!

Very feminine. Soapy and oudy. Soft florals with a sort of savoriness behind it. I put one spray on yesterday evening, and I not only woke up smelling it, but it’s nearly 3:00pm, and it’s still going strong. Now that’s impressive!

this is nice its just to synthetic amd needs maceration to deepen the scent this is a little harsh but in a diffrent way to other fragrances if you see this before you buy get another dior oud spin off

This is unisex but it leans more masculine in my opinion. Its a very simple fragrance. The stars of this fragrance is the oud, leather, and saffron. This is NOT ultra fruity or sweet WHATSOEVER. Its rather dry and rugged. But nothing in this fragrance is too much. This fragrance doesn't really change from start to finish. The raspberry only become SLIGHTLY more noticeable with time. The rose and saffron really starts to shine within 20+ minutes, which helps to soften the oud and leather. After 20+ minutes this fragrance starts to lean more into the unisex territory. If I'm honest, this fragrance is nothing special. You can get a million other fragrances that smell like this but, the price you'll pay is AMAZING. Wear time and projection is average.

To me Rouat Al-Oud is a pleasant detergent fragrance. I don't smell the Oud-ness in this. Very inoffensive, safe to wear anywhere. At first spray I can detect its woody and slightly rosy note and then it quickly becomes alike the smell of warm fresh laundry. This fits the clean girl fabric softener aesthetic. Its a unisex smell, men can def have this on too. If you are going for this, then it is a safe blindbuy for you or as a present. You'll smell like a walking laundry freshly done. I bought a 5ml decant of this and might not buy full bottle as this did not fit my current scent profile. However, I feel like I might revisit it one day if I'm looking for a safe daily scent that smells like fresh laundry.

I revisited this scent after purchasing this last year. I'm not a fan of the opening. Although, the dry down is where it's at. Its a mature scent. I gave it another chance recently spraying it on after I showered at around 5pm by 10pm when I was going to sleep I was surprised by a pleasant scent. Not too smoky more of a creamy like woodsy floral. In the morning my sheets smelt like I was at a cabin bed and breakfast. It would be a perfect outdoors scent as it has a huge projection. The longevity is long-lasting. This is a subtle fruity rose it leans more creamy cedar to me. I prefer it layered with a sweet geranium rose body oil. I would never wear it alone.

Dry down is really masculine to me, leathery Oud. As usual, its a strong scent. Im ok with the smell, its not sweet, its like some berries crushed in an old leather and left on the wet woods. Cant smell any rose. Dry down is just Oud and nothing else, can be good when you layer it with more feminine scent. Not safe for the office except if you spray only max 2 sprays. You can also layer with more feminine scent. The Musk (Rouat Al Musk) is better for ladies and I liked it more than this. Silage is strong and longevity (Oud smell) last long.

Rouat Al Oud by Lattafa is a very sweet, strong and spicy fragrance that can feel almost aggressive at first. After some time, however, it settles down and becomes much more pleasant. Interestingly, I enjoyed it more at the beginning than I do now, so I’d recommend keeping in mind that your perception of this scent may change over time. That said, for the price, this fragrance is absolutely amazing and easily worth a blind buy.

To me it's heavy, really strong oud-scentric fruity woody scent! I can rather imagine it on a man and in the hot climate

...Maybe it just needs to continue macerating? It’s about six weeks in, and I found it almost unbearable when I first received it. Now it’s better but not great. I’m really hoping I like this, because Rose and Oud are my current obsessions, but this doesn’t smell enough like either. Pretty bottle, love the charms! I’m really hoping it just needs some more time like Lattafa often does.

Also found a pyramid like this: Fragrance Notes: Thyme, Raspberries, Saffron, Bergamot, Olibanum, Zhasin, Cardamom, White Pepper, Juniper Berries, Leather, Suede, Amber, Oud, Sandalwood and Patchouli. IDK what to think, but to me it's not Raspberries scent at all...

Smells like average-quality rose fabric softener with some green and woody nuances. It's ok, but what should I be happy about? My first pass from Lattafa.

@EvaNicoleFragrance yeah those notes from lattafa don't make any sense. There ain't even rose mentioned when it's clearly the main note.

I really hate this smell. It smells like a poor quality soap with some harsh chemicals in it. I don't know how long it lasts as I scrubbed it after half an hour. I wouldn't like anybody in my neighbourhood to smell like that.

This smells horrible and it's not worth blind buying.

Lattafa Rouat al Oud (The Way of Oud) is one of the first fragrances that i aquired, yet i rarely reach for it but when i do i always wonder "Why don't i wear this more often?". On my skin its a sour-sweet woody scent, very unique, haven't smelled anything like it yet. The sourness is very intriguing but pleasant. For a long time the note breakdown of this found online was different (wrong?) and it included a note of Tamarind. Now i don't know how tamarind smells like so i always assumed that is where the sourness comes from. In the note breakdown you can now see there is Raspberry and as soon as i saw that it clicked! I find the sweet sour qualities of raspberries present and its there untill the very end. For those afraid of fragrances with "oud" in their name, Rouat al Oud has nothing one would find challenging in my opinion. I think its just marketing ploy in this case (most cases to be honest). Its versatile, not as a gym or a beach scent but other then that it goes anywhere (who wears Middle Eastern fragrances to sports or the beach anyways?) . Can be worn in the summer too because it doesn't get cloying, sickening, or bothering at all even in warm weather, its not heavy. That being said, personally i prefer using it in the spring and especially autumn but again, its versatile enough. I can confirm what the reviewer below said: when comparing it to Franck Olivier Oud Touch which also has oud and raspberry accords, that one is jammy, louder, darker, more funky and more of an aquired taste then Rouat al Oud. Altho this also has a sense of seriousness and elegance to it and a very unique and unexpected scent profile. Longevity is good, i get whiffs of it even after 8 hours, but its not a screamer. Presentation wise: On the plus side, the bottle itself is beautiful and unique, with baroque style decorations, screams Arabian Nights. I admit this made me blind buy the fragrance. On the minus side, the dangly bits and the plaque at the center of the bottle are cheap plastic, like they came out of a Kinder Surprise egg. The cap itself is plastic too and it doesn't click into place, nor does it fit snuggly on the nozzle. DO NOT! pick this up from the cap or you will end up with a broken bottle.

A pleasant surprise from Lattafa. This is the only Lattafa I have that lasts longer than a couple of hours, I can smell this one all day. The raspberry note almost made me skip it. I can definitely smell it, and strongly. Normally I'd never go for anything this fruity. But the saffron and amber notes balance it out in a way that works surprisingly well for something this fruit forward. It has a freshness to it that is almost aquatic, fruity in a more refreshing way that smells almost herbaceous, like raspberries freshly picked. I can detect the cedar too which helps ground it and has that warm woods smell, almost like the interior of a dry sauna. The note I am not detecting so much is rose, maybe it's there but to me it seems the raspberry is overpowering it. The oud is pleasant, not animalic at all but not too sweet either, pretty much right in the middle for what you could call a beginner oud. Overall the vibe is classic Middle Eastern all the way. Sophisticated and strong, it will be considered exotic to western noses. It does actually recall Oud Ispahan! I wouldn't call it a clone but they're very similar in some key ways. That one has a more obvious rose note to me. All this talk of maceration in the reviews does make me laugh-- you guys know this stuff sits around on ships and in warehouses for anywhere from weeks to months before it gets to you right?? They aren't whipping it up fresh for you at Lattafa when you order. A month in your closet is not going to make some kind of magical difference in the way it smells.

I bought this two years ago and never knew where to wear it or what ocassion but as my nose becomes more discerning I'm looking for it to get a back up bottle, I spray it the previous day on clothes and wear them the next day while they have that strong luxurious dry down that works great with other citrus scents,it's a very rich while linear scent which gives me some layering ideas with maybe something smoky or even with a pineapple scent, who knows but definitely getting a back up bottle🤙🏿👊🏿

Does any Lattafa exist that does not open like a chemical bomb? Do any Lattafas exist that use any natural substances? These perfumes all smell like they came out of a detergent lab warehouse. I am almost afraid to use them on my skin. I wish Lattafa would use simple bottles and put their money into more natural ingredients rather than beautiful bottles filled with leftover lab chemicals.

I wish I could say I like this :( maybe it just doesn’t work with body chemistry I get no fruity notes at all and all oud patchouli and leather. Very strong a little goes a long way. It overwhelms me with one spray to the wrist. I went back to it multiple times but I get the same dry down with zero fruit and overwhelming projection with 1 spray

Rose and Oud are the stars here. Sweetish fresh rose and medicinal clean oud. Lovely. Lasts 8-10 hours and can definitely be a beast if over sprayed. Be careful with it or you'll be "that person" and the whole department will get an email about inappropriate fragrance choices in the workplace.

Second review 🙌🏿, I put this away and didn't use it since 2023 and it's either my nose has matured or it macerated.. it's smoother, more leather forward, smelling more of the fermented fruits and the raspberry is rounder, it still has the sweet tea vibe but I don't get the headachy feel to it

Smells like very sweet black tea with cinnamon in it with a slight wooden base, I personally am not a fan of rose heavy scents but this is tolleratable. I imagine if they amped up the woods it would be an exception scent, it still is, it actually is quite unique 🤷🏿♂️

Can’t believe how lucky I was! Blindbought three fragrances of which all are amazing. Rouat al oud is wonderfully incency, oudy and fruity all at the same time. It’s deepish without being the slightest bit intimidating or overpowering. Just lovely!

i don’t remember why i bought this, but the bottle is so beautiful. unfortunately the scent is extremely harsh and synthetic, I would never wear this outside of the house.
