Royal Sapphire

Lattafa Pride Royal Sapphire is not as clean as instant crush, at least during the opening. Unlike a lot of people are saying here, I can feel the saffron note on the beginning, and I love saffron, so I like it. Even though saffron is very evident, it is not overpowering, because of the mandarin orange and lemon notes, which are probably slightly more prominent, (like 60% mandarin orange and citrus and 40% saffron) but the saffron note is so deep that it actually does not feel linear at all, making the opening very rich and interesting (btw, the first 5-10 seconds may smell too alcohol-heavy, which is a common lattafa issue from my experience. Some times I get that feeling, some times I barely / don't get it). 5-10 minutes after, I start feeling a note that gives me mixed feelings, and I think it is the rose. The reason why is because I usually think fragrances with a rose note smell a little funky (for example moschinho toy boy, a fragrance that I love for its uniqueness but still smells a little funky). But to be honest, I don't mean it particularly in bad way, it just makes it not as clean as it could be without it (but a fragrance that feels more clean does not mean it is necessarily better, it always depends on taste and on the "purpose" of the fragrance). After 30 minutes to an hour, it starts getting similar to instant crush, the musks, ambergris and vanilla become more evident, making the fragrance more clean and kind of creamy, but still with that minimal funkiness touch and with the saffron and the citrusy notes still there but 80% less prominent. The dry down becomes absolutely beautiful and addictive. No rose, only vanilla, ambergris and a touch of th mandarin orange still. You almost get a smoky/incense vibe from it. Perfomance wise looks very good. Royal Sapphire projects well, for 3 hours easily, Then, projection becomes moderate to close. Longevity, I would say 8-10 hours easily. This is unisex for me, but the opening leans a little to the masculine side because of the saffron. I find that interesting because on TikTok, most reviews I saw were from women recommending it for women, I barely found videos of men talking about Royal Sapphire. I really like this fragrance overall, it is not too complex but unique and rich at the same time. Because of that, I find Lattafa Pride Royal Sapphire a particularly interesting blind buy for those who look for a little more adventurous but still not too risky blind buy. My score - 8.4/10

It is criminal how underrated this is, this is just fabulous! One of the best from Lattafa Pride line. I am not the biggest fan of BR540 or find Instant Crush too appealing for its synthetic sharpness, this one simply put is the best of both worlds. Royal Sapphire (I don't know why Sapphire), has the freshness from the citruses that go very well with the sweetness. Opens up with BR540-esque saffron and warm citruses from mandarin which are backed with candied sweetness. You also get the ambergris and woodiness from the base that gives it a rounded slightly earthy undertones. What makes this better for me than any of those OGs is that Royal Sapphire is more rounded and versatile and ever so slightly more masculine leaning. Performance is beast mode, the longevity is not the greatest but sits good for 7-9 hours on my skin which is great, the highlight here is the nuclear projection this pumps off. It is LOUD for the 2-3 hours and it maintains a good scent bubble subsequently. Presentation is great too, solid thick heavy glass base making a hefty bottle with coppery metal cap; the atomizer is decent too. Overall, this is a great find, it is very versatile and can be used year round, smells pleasant and posh as well as has the performance to back it up. True signature scent worthy!

Royal Sapphire opens up fresh, citrusy, creamy, tangy, fruity, and sweet. It smells pleasant and delicious. It starts out unisex leaning masculine but after a few minutes becomes perfectly unisex. After the opening, it transforms and begins to resemble BR540 but softer, smoother, creamier, fresher, and lighter. This transforms from a freshie-type to gourmand. This is safe-to-wear, inoffensive, mass-appealing, and a pretty versatile fragrance. It can be worn anytime and anywhere, although this leans more on casual occasions. This is a great layering fragrance adding complexity and depth as I've layered this together with a couple of fragrances. Average performance. Moderate projection, and lasts 6-8 hours on me. UPDATE: Layered Royal Sapphire on top of Luxodor Gyrfalcon The White Phase, it is absolutely stunning. I easily got nose blind though.

I love this smell. It reminds me of someone in particular, and that may have something to do with it :) ...but the softness is really nice while still leaning masculine. It smells like it could be worn all-year round. I wouldn't wear this, but would love to smell it on a man. I would think to smell it on the kind of guy who is responsible, kind, and trustworthy while still being sexy. like husband material. Edit: At first this didn't seem to last very long at all, however I'm happy to say that after 3 weeks of sitting in the closet the smell has definitely developed beautifully and the projection is much much much better :) I spritzed it on paper to check it, threw the paper into the trash at the end of the day, and the following day could smell it still from a good 2 feet from the trashcan. It's ready to be gifted (yay!)

Okay, so I was mistakenly sent this fragrance with an order I had made. I smelt it and I was just shocked by how alluring it is. It is unisex leaning a tad masculine, especially in the openning, but there is something really intriguing about it. As it dries down, it becomes perfectly unisex. I enjoy very feminine scents but with this, I did 2 sprays and I kept wanting more. The following days, I kept going back to it like a guilty pleasure..... I definitely recommend giving this a go....it may surprise you..Great performance, great projection and fantastic scent.

I absolutely love this fragrance. To me, it smells like Instant Crush and Bal d'Afrique had a baby. If you like either of these scents, I would give it a try. Definitely less sharp than Instant Crush. One spritz on my wrist 3 hours ago when I opened the box and I can still smell it up close. I don't get the resemblance to BR540, other than saffron. Looking forward to seeing what this smells like after a few weeks of maceration. Not sure if I can stop myself from using it right now though.

Opening is masculine. Can't pick up pure saffron smell. It's more of a equal mix between mandarin and saffron. Then it smells like roses and stays linear. Kinda disappointed but still pretty good. I imagine someone with a red sweater wearing this. 7/10 Edit: drydown is straight from heaven. Lattafas are always awesome when they dry. And a single spray on the wrist last over 48 hours with 3 showers and you can still smell it. It's crazy

This is a Gorgeous perfume. Love at first sniff. A bit like BR540 but holds it's own. It is more airy than BR540 and very fun. I find it more interesting than instant crush as I own all 3 fragrances. Instant Crush smells too artificial but Royal Sapphire is just lovely and fresh. My IC is still full, BR540 almost empty and I have made a huge dent in my RS by Lattafa. Lattafa is killing it. 👍🏻❤️

This is to me a slightly lighter version of instant crush with a heavier focus on orange. Crushed orange smarties candies with some vanilla and br540 in the background. Royal Sapphire focuses a little more on the br540 aspect but it balances it out by being a little airier and sweeter than instant crush. This to me is more wearable and enjoyable than instant crush but they're both pretty good.

Absolutely a 10/10 hidden gem. Everyone I show this to comes back for more. Amazing saffron and citrus, dries down to warm ambergris. Does have BR540 similarities but that's not why I'd recommend this scent, it's just a straight banger. And yes, women can wear this, I find it to be unisex however leaning masculine of course. Some women like to wear masculine scents - shocker!

BR540 with a lovely candied orange note that lasts through the opening. Makes it very fresh and warm-weather appropriate, especially for BR540 lovers who cannot wear the scent in spring and summertime. Long-lasting, 8+hrs. Projects very strongly before finally mellowing at the 6 hr mark. Another solid Lattafa offering.

Incredible fragrance. It smells like a mix between the sweetness and candy-like smell of BR540 plus some of the fruity dna of Erba Pura. Basically Instant Crush, but it's also distinctively enough as itself. Strong performance and sillage. Solid offering.

It becomes richer and smoother after maturation.

First time wearing after purchasing approx. 4 months ago and spraying to clear atomizer straw as many suggest. Can lightly detect scent on self 4.5 hrs in, but I am confident it is stronger for those around me and I've just become noseblind. Like all perfumes of the BR540 ilk, I do pick up a kind of metallic & latex glove/dentist's office note that keeps me from enjoying the other notes as much. I don't *love* on myself but I count this as one of those scents that really attracts others while it is negligible on me. Seems straight down the middle unisex. I just added a few spritzes of Si Passione to my wrists from a small decant I have at the office and the combo is divine. The sweetness of Si Passione mutes that dentist's office smell, and really compliments the citrus and ambergris in Royal Sapphira. Leaves an almost buzzing sensation in my nose when I smell it up close. This experiment confirms for me that I'll probably use Royal Sapphire as a layering, amplifying scent more than I'll reach for it to wear alone. On my "like" scale of 1<5, this is a 3.

Am I the only one who doesn't feel the similarity with Instant Crush? I have bought it to have a "summer version" of Instant Crush (based on the votes), but this is fully an Erba Pura style fragrance to my nose. Honestly, I am nose blind most of the BR540 kind of scents, so maybe I cannot smell that part and that's the difference, but in this way, I just got another Erba Pura kind of scent into my collection. It is a very nice and fine one, don't get me wrong, but if you had any Erba Pura kind of parfume, you don't need this one too I think. But of course, this is just my subjective impression. Edit: for a moment, I could smell the Instant Crust / BR540 in it right after spraying it to my wrist, so it's there, unfortunately as I mentioned I got instant nose blindness of these kinf os scents, so I don't know how long it takes, and the Erba Pura kinf of "taste" remains to me.

A nice, well-balanced perfume: moderately fresh, moderately sweet, moderately floral. Feels like I’ve smelled something similar before, but not sure

Imagine Erba Pura less sweet with rose in the middle, unisex leaning feminine.

Sweet oranges with a hint of the baccarat rouge airness. It is masculine leaning to my nose. It would be ideal for spring and summer. Not as dense as baccarat rouge. I've never tried Instant Crush before so unfortunately, I'm not able to compare it to that fragrance.

Better than that blue sapphire s**t,very poor longevity ,warm spicy but not citrus , no idea who smells citrus in there

It’s similar to instant crush but more shallow version, instant crush has more depth and less fruity.

This is my 2nd favorite BR540 inspired fragrance behind Thomas Kosmala Desir du Coeur. The addition of a slightly candied citrus makes Royal Sapphire more versatile for spring and summer than BR540, but this is a 4 season fragrance. I also pick up on more florals in Royal Sapphire compared to BR540 which further enhances its freshness and versatility. The most notable similarities between RS and BR540 are the saffron and the airy cotton candy floss-like sweetness which seem to be the commonalities that tie the original and all the "inspired by" fragrances together. I think RS's candied citrus is the perfect twist to this DNA. RS is blended really well and smells high quality. The Lattafa Pride line in general smells even higher quality than their regular offerings, and RS is no different. The performance on RS is great. It's really long lasting with a moderate projection. The performance is interesting because it never really feels like it's projecting strongly, even in the opening, but it has moderate projection consistently for many hours. It's one of those odd fragrances that has a tendency to become even more noticeable after a couple hours on the skin.

Sweet orange caramel candies (the 'crushed orange smarties candies' descrption from a reviewer below is accurate) with a distinct saffron note backed by vanillic florals -- absolutely beautiful. It's leaning masculine, which is surprising given the description I just wrote.. It must be the ambergris providing that salty and airy base with those very feminine and sweet notes on top. One of the best Lattafa fragrances and I find this fact proof that the best scents from this house don't get talked about much. There are not a lot of video reviews of this and only 25 written reviews on here currently.

I hyped this so much in my head and im so underwhelmed by this it made me wanna fall to my knees and curse the world the first time I smelled it this genuinely reminds me of a citrus version of amber oud gold I was expecting far more amber and saffron but I can layer with fragrances that have those notes heavy, ill check back at the end of summer/the year I guess

It is citrusy and more airy than BR540. It has similarity with Instant crush but it is less dense. Some compare it to Erba Pura,to my nose erba Pura is more fruity, Royal Sapphire has only the citrus aspect so it is not comparable to Erba Pura. Currently it is little weak, I will let it macerate to observe any change

For those who uses recorrently the same expression "smells like if X and Y had a baby", f*ck yourself and have a baby too!

Damn this is SEXY. This is Instant Crush minus the Oud. Performance in insane especially after the bottle Macerates.
