Tharwah Gold

Out of all my MEs this is in my top 3. So many complements and I'm not wearing it to be complimented. Uber feminine, I'm an oversprayer for so many of my perfumes but any more than 5 will feel too much and it stays at that level for 7 or 8 hours and is still noticeable to my nose, the nose that loves to go nose blind to most of my perfumes pretty quickly, at the 10 hour mark. I worked a full 8 hour day and at the end of the day received compliments and I'm pretty sure that day I did four whole sprays one under my shirt, one between my two wrists, one on my shirt, and one on my neck. And it's not just that I love how I smell when I'm wearing this it's the way it makes me feel. I think it's the orange blossom and how it mixes with the Jasmine and vanilla that makes this literally addictive. I have 2 YSL Libre perfumes. One is vanille couture and the other one is le Parfum but this one is probably three times as strong and definitely in the same family. I can see why this rates better than Libre intense and I have no desire to buy Libre intense. I bought the other two just for the twist they had on this DNA because this DNA is obviously something I am wired to love! If you can be light handed this is an easy reach for office appropriate. This is sundress-worthy for summer and pant suit ready for the office in the winter. It would be delicious at a wedding and it would be fantastic on a date! This is probably my favorite Lattafa and it has probably two more that are pretty near it but wins because it is unbelievably impressive all the way around. It might not be the smoothest blend but I like that it's not super smooth and I know it will smooth out with age. And for all those people saying that this is somehow masculine I am blown away! I don't know a masculine man alive who would gravitate towards this for themselves. I do know some extremely manly men who gravitate towards this on a woman they like.... that's for sure! LOL

Just doing a back-of-the-hand test for now, and I'm guessing it will improve over time, but already I find Tharwah Gold so beautiful and strangely addictive that I can't stop huffing my own hand while I type this. It's not supposed to be a gourmand, but there's something about the way that the lavender and vanilla combine with the white florals to make it smell delicious but not overly sweet. Maybe it's a bit like a sweet citrus-garnished lavender chai, with lots and lots of vanilla and a dash of honey. As you sit sipping your exquisite beverage, you catch whiffs of orange blossom and jasmine wafting in from the veranda. What a gorgeous scent! And the Lattafa packaging is unimpeachable. Update: Wearing today, and my husband asked me if I was burning incense (I was not). Apparently Tharwah Gold smells of incense to him. I don't get that, but we all perceive scent differently, and I guess it's possible that the lavender and vetiver are creating a kind of smoky accord in combination. In truth, he doesn't seem to like my Middle Eastern perfumes very much in general, even the ones that don't fit the profile (e.g., prominent ouds--this has no oud note that I can detect). I get a nice soapy-smoky vanilla-lavender scent on the drydown. It's not really much like Mon Guerlain, but it also doesn't clash with it, in the event that some of the MG I was wearing yesterday is still perceptible on my skin or clothing. The bottle cracks me up. It's such high-quality--nice frosted glass with impressive metal and ceramic detailing--but the design reminds me of the late, lamented Parkmoor in St. Louis, a Midcentury Modern Flintstones-like gem that got demolished for a stupid and nondescript drive-through chain pharmacy. If I were in charge of the built environment (and perfume bottle design for that matter), you can bet there would be some changes made.

Now that I have Libre and Libre Intense, I see Tharwah as a cross between the two. Yes, it's not as beautifully blended, and the ingredients aren't quite as elevated, I'm guessing, but Tharwah improved hugely after a few months of maturation in the dark, and now I think I would have a difficult time distinguishing it from Libre Intense particularly (because it has vetiver in the base--not patchouli, but still darker and scratchier than the cedar base of Libre EDP). I won't call this a dupe because for all I know it existed first--moreover, this scent profile isn't exactly unheard of in the Middle East. I wouldn't say you should save your money and buy Tharwah instead of one of the Libre line (personally, I find them all different enough to rationalize having at lease small quantities of each), but if money is tight, I think Tharwah is a sensible alternative. I'd say 90% of the people who smell you will just think you smell really nice, and of those people who are familiar with the YSL perfumes, most of them will probably think you're wearing Libre in some form. At this point, given the number of flankers, it's likely to smell like one or more in combination. Come to think of it, this might be most like Libre Le Parfum, which is a lot like Libre Intense, except a bit spicier (with saffron). Tharwah has kumquat and lime, which none of the YSL perfumes have, but those don't smell radically different from the citruses used in the Libre perfumes. Regarding the relative coolness of the bottles, I'd say Tharwah and YSL are tied. Tharwah has more of that weird midcentury "atomic age" vibe, whereas the YSL bottle just looks badass-bling-elegant in a contemporary way.

I was looking for something similar to that bubblegum-orange blossom of Awaan Gold minus the patchouli-sandalwood-musk drydown that I go back and forth on. I love Awaan, and I get more compliments on it than any other perfume I've ever worn, but when I sweat a lot...I fear that on my clothing, those specific notes of the dry-down mixed with my BO is rather noxious. And lowkey...I think this is what I was looking for! Of course, this much more vanilla and has that hint of lavender, but the bubblegum-orange blossom is definitely there. Orange blossom drenched in this syrupy, thick vanilla. So delicious. I was a little nervous that the lavender would throw me off, but honestly, it is so light; I wouldn't worry about it. Awaan Gold is definitely a little stronger, but this also has decent performance. I can't tell you how similar it is to Libre Intense because I've never smelled it before, but there is that hint of bubblegum white floral in here that I also pick up in Fakhar, mixed with the orange blossom of Awaan. I've only wore it one day, but so far I really enjoy it! Have not yet tried it while working out, which is the ultimate litmus test for me...but if it mixes with my sweat without giving locker room, I will probably promote this to LOVE. Edit: LAYER THIS with Awaan Gold!!! Absolutely beautiful.

Tharwah Gold is probably the most underrated fragrance that I've encountered. I initially bought a 20 ml of a few of the Lattafa Pride Collection. I immediately knew that I had to have a full bottle after my first sniff. It was simply LOVE at first sniff! This is now my new signature scent and my favourite middle eastern fragrance. The fragrance opens with a soft lavender note similar to the one that is present in mon Guerlain! It is supported by the Jasmine as well as a hint of the orange blossom and the vanilla which is herbal like in nature but creamy at the same time, usually this creaminess is due to sandalwood, I'm actually surprised that it's not present in this fragrance ( if you have Al rehabs Delal, the vanilla is very similar to that fragrance, so I oftentimes layer the oil with Tharwah) Luckily the bergamot note is not really detectible as the fragrance is blended really well. Tharwah Gold is fairly linear, except that as it wears, the vanilla becomes the main player. I've never tried Libre before but if it's anything like this, I can see why it is so loved. I've had this fragrance for a few months now and the vanilla certainly projects more. It simply gets better with time! Truly a well blended masterpiece 😍

I have to be honest... I am in love with this fragrance! I had been keeping my eye on Tharwah Gold for sometime as I have Tharwah Silver but something kept me coming back to Tharwah Gold. Now as a man of fragrances I have no interest in how a "gender" classified fragrance is marketed and though Tharwah Gold is listed as a women's fragrance I find it very appealing! It's my fragrance of choice today and with just four spritzes I find the fragrance absolutely gorgeous and even with minimal sprays it's a heavy hitter! Normally I tend to overspray my fragrance however when wearing something new I keep it minimal as to not "choke" my coworkers. The Lavender and Bergamot top notes are almost immediate once it's sprayed with the middle notes of Orange Blossom and Egyptian Jasmine coming shortly after the initial spray. The base notes of Vanilla, Amber and Vetiver round out the fragrance weaving this to a beautiful floral aura that is both delicate and undeniably sophisticated. Tharwah Gold doesn't scream for attention; it commands it quietly, leaving a lingering memory wherever you go. This is the type of fragrance that turns an ordinary moment into a scene, and the wearer (either a woman or man) into the main character!

Lawd! Lawd! This is freaking phenomenal! I'm in orange blossom heaven with Tharwah Gold. She is soooo darned sophisticated I almost feel guilty wearing her as I ramble down a hot, dusty country road in my 50 year old pick up truck. Best blind buy yet. What a powerhouse! I did 2 sprays on my arm a few hours ago and the whole truck smells amazing. I know this is a Libre Intense dupe but I'm getting a bit of Rolling in Love by Killian, but way better. She's so good, good, good and thick, rich at that. Best lattafa yet. They just keep shocking my socks off! I am completely sold on Arabian fragrance houses now. The big name designer and niche houses can go F off with their ridiculous prices. For what?!? I can't count how many times I've been burned by buying designer fragrances with their poor sillage and longevity... and don't get me started on the underwhelming juice.. I'm in the middle of nowhere with no malls or shops. There is no way for me to smell anything but the cows out here. So being a perfume lover, I have to blind buy just about everything. That's the beauty of dupes... If a frag isn't all that it was hyped to be, I'm only out 20 bucks.

I just got this yesterday and it smells so good. I love the opening. It’s sweet but not sickly sweet. It didn’t give me a headache maybe it’s because I didn’t overspray (6 sprays was good). This lasted 6-7hrs on skin before settling to a soft warm amber musk sent that is close to the skin and it lasts 24hrs on clothes. It projects about an arm’s length, it fills the room and it leaves a scent tail behind you. The soapy smell isn’t so much and so bad it’s in a good way I could barely sniff that. My skin probably didn’t pull that out. Over all I really liked this and I don’t know why it isn’t hyped. This is a fragrance of its own and it deserves to be hyped like khamrah and the rest from the pride collection. This is YSL libre intense and givenchy l’interdit on Steriods. The added sweetness like candy makes this better than libre and l’interdit.

I am a guy and Tharwah Gold smells great on me. And it smells great only after an hour or so. And the dry on clothes and even skin, a day after - that's the best moment. What remains. It doesn't have a masculine base, but the main gist is a warm barbershop style, of all things. I suppose the lavender and vanilla create this. I wouldn't blink if this were a Caron fragrance. This is YSL Libre? You know, I am reminded of Gaultier Le Male, with which it shares notes, and this is sweet! However it is linear and kind of simple. But it lasts, and projects! I wouldn't pay more than 30 USD. I'm sure I'm too old a man, and this would really take off on a young man, like Gaultier Le Male used to. Add more lavender. Intoxicating and sexy nighttime scent for warm spring and not too hot summer nights.

I purchased Tharwah Gold back in October. I wasn't impressed by it. I loved the opening, but the dry down was basic to my nose, so I returned it. As time went on, I felt that I didn't give it a fair shot. I kept seeing reviews on YouTube and many comments spoke about letting it macerate. So, I pulled the trigger and re-purchased it. I'm glad that I gave it another try. I now love the dry down because I smell the vanilla strongly. The amber gives it a nice creamy touch as well. This fragrance is also long lasting on my skin and clothes and has great projection. I have the OG Libre and I never reach for it because it leans masculine on my skin. Tharwah Gold feels more feminine to me because I smell the vanilla more. Happy with this one.

Oh my goodness. Where do I start? Firstly with price, this is so affordable compared to a lot of niche and designer fragrances. Next, the bottle! It’s a heavy weight glass bottle with gold accents which looks stunning sitting in my collection. I don't know how Lattafa can make such a beautiful perfume, with excellent presentation (bottle and box) for the price. Now the scent. Wow, this to me is top notch. Smells classy and pretty and is so well blended. It’s not screechy or cloying and didn’t need macerating. It was beautiful from the first sniff. Calming lavender, yummy vanilla, this just feels expensive! If you’ve been on the fence about buying this one, just do it. If you like YSL Libre Intense, you will love this! 10/10

Wow! This was definitely not a love at first sniff when I first bought it! I smelt nothing but alcohol, with a soapy Lavender and screechy Bergamot. It was honestly giving waterred down toilet cleaner. I smelled no vanilla at all and was so disappointed. To my surprise, after a few weeks of maceration, it has grown to be so much more well blended! It's sweet, yet fresh and enticing. Absolutely one of my new favorites for spring. It leans a much more feminine in my opinion, and a little linear as of now. I gifted my brother baroque Satin oud instead of Tharwah Gold for this reason I'm hoping that with time it'll mature and get richer. For now I have to say it's much Sexier than I initially believed.

I've never had any interest in the Libre family, but picked this up on a whim and am so glad I did. It's so wearable! There's just no other word for it. It's one that I've been putting on when I'm not sure what else to wear, and I'm never disappointed in my choice. Jasmine and orange blossom together are a uniquely nostalgia-inducing pairing for me and this is just very cozy and comforting as a result. I think this is the same lavender and vanilla as Angham, because they smell more than passingly similar to my nose, but much less gourmand. Angham is one of my all-time favorites and it's lovely to have a cleaner, more floral sister in my collection for the spring.

I love it so much! I ordered a Lattafa miniature box and this perfume was part of it and, to my surprise, the best of them all! I agree with the comments that say it fits into the libre olfactory profile. It's a very classy, strong presence fragrance but at the same time it's fresh due to the lavender, the flowers, vanilla and the herbs are very well balanced, not overlapping but working together into a very smooth scent. It could be worn all year round IMO. I don't see any flaws or smell any strong jasmine or pee odor as stated below. It's a very affordable alternative to any of the YSL Libre family frags.

I got a generous 20ml free sample with my Lattafa website order. It’s amazing how a 10 ml at Sephora will run you $30+ but Lattafa and other ME brands will just include double that amount for free with your order. This is a very sexy scent! Not what I usually go for but for a date night or formal occasion this would be my go to! It’s sweet, floral lavender and vanilla with a strong ambery base that feels mysterious and seductive. Projection is amazing! I find that Lattafa fragrances project so well on me and last nearly the entire day. I highly recommend this one!

This is easily in my top 3 favorite perfumes. I will say, I don't really smell Libre Intense in the opening, it's missing that sweet tarty tang from the black currant, but what I do smell is far better than any of the Libre Flankers. This smells so royal and divine. I have never worn this and not received a compliment, the longevity is about 9 hours and projects very well. She has turned me into an orange blossom lover. I love it, I love it, I love it. Definitely smells like a $200 Fragrance rather than the $30 something I paid for it. Truly spectacular.

I get a mix of L’intidit by Givenchy/Fakhar by Lattafa in the opening and Libre Intense by YSL as it dries down. If you like those two fragrances (the original and the flankers) you’ll enjoy this beauty. It’s a fragrance of its own. It is not a spot on dupe of Libre because of those heavy jasmine/vetiver nuances, but regardless a great buy. I got 6+ hours on my skin and much longer on clothes. Great for fall, spring, and summer. Work, brunches, dinner in the summer heat, errands running. It’s a great all around, signature-scent worthy fragrance.

Well if you like YSL Libre or Zara's version, you are probably going to like this. I don't like giving estimates of how close scents are together, but I feel if you like the Libre scent family this will likely work for you. It's definitely sweet, and it has a 'juicy' quality that I like a lot. I can be picky about lavender, but I really enjoy this one. I think this would be fine in all seasons, but definitely smells more of an evening scent to me (I wear mine whenever though). It will be interesting to see how this works in warmer weather.

OMG, I absolutely love this perfume. To be absolutely honest, I blind bought it with zero hopes, it was just from the collection point of view as I wanted to have it really. I find Libre good but not amazing to be honest. But this one is beautiful, the lavender is well blended and not strong, it gives a bit of an edge. For reference, I love amber and orange blossom, I do agree that it has a touch of L'interdit (I love interdit), it is just a bit more grown up. Very elegant and it would be great in the winter (or all year around).

This is somewhere between Libre and Libre Intense; head-spinning lavender and bergamot becomes a vanilla & amber-soaked orange flower with jasmine. The bergamot recedes but the lavender remains very strong, keeping the aroma very powdery amidst the white floral notes. It's fresh and intense all at once, I like it very much. Projects very loudly, leaves a noticeable trail. Lasts all day and then some. Can be worn all year round, though it'd be overwhelming in intense summer heat.
