Thouq

April Flowers below has it absolutely correct. These middle eastern perfumes need to be sprayed several times and then put away in a cool dark place like a wardrobe or drawer to macerate. come back to them in a month or two. I have just come back to Thouq and it is absolutely gorgeous! The rose note is rich and jammy, blending seamlessly with the subtle smokiness of the incense. Balanced out by the lychee & bergamot which soon dry down to a powdery ambery rose. It last for ages on skin. You can spray it on before a night out and still smell it on your decolletage the next morning. The dry down reminds me so much of lipstick rose. If you're a fan of fragrances that smell like lipstick or make-up i think you'd love this on the dry down.

I blind bought this and I'm not disappointed. It's like a jammy rose/soft powdery Turkish delight with a hint of incense smoke in the background. It wasn't quite what I expected, but I like perfumes that go against what I might typically buy. At first I thought it was quite weak, and the first few sprays didn't really have any bergamot or fruity notes. But after about 2 weeks of use the scent seems to have a more pronounced bergamot note and is stronger. I'm skeptical about "maceration" but it does feel like it takes a few sprays to maybe get the true scent. It's still a lot less powerful than I expected, but I live in Japan where strong scents are controversial so I think I can wear it with peace of mind.

FIRST IMPRESSION: This one has a juicy and fruity opening, with rose leading the show. Vanilla is not listed, but I smell it heavily in the first spray. The opening also reminded me of Fragrance World’s clone of MFK Oud Satin Mood, but Thouq comes across as more nuanced, with fruitiness rather than oud. The incense adds smokiness to the mid, while the base hints at lots of sweetness with amber, vanilla, and something chocolatey. At this stage, it reminds me of my mum's signature scent by Dossier, called Fruity Almond, which was inspired by CH Good Girl. Edit: This stuff lasts so, so long, and the projection is outstanding. 👏🏾

Incredibly strong and likable rose scent! I'm a Delina fan and although I haven't smelled the OG exclusif (the only one i haven't), I think this does a pretty good job of replicating the overall Delina DNA in a form that's a little more potent and woody. Love it. Lasts 12 hours at least, longer on clothes. If you like the Delina DNA this is probably a safe blind buy- if you don't, this isn't for you anyway!

Oh man, I couldn't wait to purchase this, but I had been hunting it down for a better price because it had risen by almost double, and with reason, as this is a wonderful dupe to Delina Exclusif by Parfums de Marly. I love it and recommend it if you want a Delina smell-a-like but don't want to spend $300+.

PERFORMANCE. Be so so so cautious about over spraying this girlie. I do one spray in the air in front of me and then walk through it. That’s strong enough to have me smelling it from morning to night. Powdery and ultra-feminine with a gently smoldering incense giving depth to the powdery florals.

This is lovely and such an interesting Delina-like scent. To my nose, it doesn't come across as being as sweet as the PDM fragrances. It almost smells like it has extra carbohydrates with the PDM base to round out the somewhat screechy OG. I'm happy to have this in my collection.

This was a blind buy. Was on sale! And I’m a big rose gourmand fragrance fan. This was even more intense than my Delina! Loved it At first sight. Only thing I’d say wear it for winter! During summer it mixes up with my sweat....and it’s just overpowering.

Creamy, rosey insence with litchi, yes please. Though, I do think the silver ball should be rose gold and the rose cap should be an antique rose color, instead of midnight blue. Bottle aside, this is giving Delina Exclusif. ☁️🌹☁️

I love the fruity opening. In the dry down I'm not a big fan of the incense. But that drifts away and the amber/vetiver base is sooo good! Happy with my purchase!

I came across Thouq the least romantic way possible, and for one reason only: on an auction site there was a slightly touched bottle for €8, shipping included. Normally, my habit is to immediately close Fragrantica pages when the pyramid shows an amber & rose or oud & rose combo. This time the opportunity was too good, so I ignored that rule. It was worth it because... This is not a classic Arab-style rose blend. It opens with sweet, fruity lychee and citrus, but without any acidity. Here the rose comes across more Western-like, very jam-filled, doughnut-like, occasionally tipping into a lipstick or a makeup bag. I don't really get much smoke or incense. In between, I also picked up some green elements — maybe due to vetiver. In the drydown, the base becomes less oversweet, and it settles into a powdery, creamy amber-vanilla, which may be more prominent than you'd expect. Despite all that, Thouq doesn't come off as radically feminine. I'd call it unisex, leaning strongly that way. I think that's because there's a noticeable metallic element in the scent from the start. That edge is mostly a skin-level detail — up close it sharpens the profile and makes it feel less 'princessy', while in the air it turns smoother and more candy. The bottle looks dark and gothic, but the scent itself is basically some liquid pink confection. It definitely stands out for its power. A few generous sprays are like massively overspraying most perfumes. I used it before going out, and when I came back a few hours later, I could still directly smell it in the stairwell. I can't really pin Thouq down precisely, though, since in the end it's the kind of hyper-girlish idea that still tempts you only because the texture is so addictive. If you dislike anything that hints at lipstick, this probably won't convert you. But if you're even slightly tempted by that profile — and you don't mind a fragrance that can fill a stairwell... This is my third Delina Exclusif dupe, and I will compare it to the others. NOTE: The opening of Delina Exclusif differs from the dupes; it has a candy rose sweetness that these dupes lack. However, their dry down is quite similar/ almost identical, with Thouq being the closest dupe at 95%, then rose couture at 90%, and finally Armaf Imperiale at 80%. **LATTAFA THOUQ:** It didn't require any maturation. The opening is soft and smooth, with the least amount of woody or incense notes, while still retaining that clean, creamy, vanillic rose facet that I adore. However, longevity, projection, and sillage are relatively low. I expected it to be more potent, but it’s only been less than a week since I received it, so I hope it improves with age. The price was $40 for an 80ml bottle. **UPDATE:** It has become much stronger now, very similar to Armaf Imperiale's dry down. Initially, it feels heavy and dense upon application before settling into a soft, powdery rose. **ROSE COUTURE by KHADLAJ:** This is the prettiest bottle among the three and also the cheapest, priced at $25 for 100ml. However, it needed some time to allow the scent to develop. The fragrance is quite similar to Thouq, but less dense. The bergamot and incense notes are a little more pronounced than in Thouq.This also has a prominent pepper note in the opening. The performance is average, with moderate longevity and sillage. I think this is the best dupe when considering aesthetics, price, and the quality of the fragrance. **ARMAF IMPERIALE:** This is the most expensive option, at $50 for 105ml. It is also the most unisex of the bunch, especially in the opening. The initial scent has a bitter, metallic note, which I find unpleasant, but it settles into a creamy rose dry down after 2-3 hours. Compared to the other two, it also has the strongest notes of vanilla, incense, bergamot, and wood. The performance is impressive, with significant projection and sillage even in cold weather. In conclusion, I believe Thouq and Rose Couture are the best Delina Exclusif dupes. You can choose either one or have both to use them interchangeably.

I have not been able to test either Delina or Delina Exclusif at any perfume store near me. That said, Thouq is a heavy, dense, sweet, powdery rose with no sour notes. The depth is partly owing to a bit of incense, but to say this was smoky or incense-heavy would be completely misleading. It's invisible at first unless you absolutely hate incense, and then after several months of sitting in a warm cupboard becomes noticeably grounding without overpowering. It also becomes stronger! A mature, grounded, sweet rose, is how I would describe Thouq. You must enjoy the ubiquitous aroma chemical in Cloud and BR540 to enjoy Thouq, even though it is a completely different scent. They all contain ethyl maltol (however it is spelled!), giving that spun sugar/powdery note many find addictive. The overdose of this in Pink Sugar made the fragrance the hit that it is and honestly endeared it to me also. Pink Sugar has wonderful powder, power, and layers well with old fashioned fragrances. In this rendition, it also adds 'oomph' to the base notes and completely updates the ever-feminine rose. In comparison, I don't enjoy the BR540 DNA nearly as much as this wee gem, as Thouq to me is more complex and also more feminine! Your mileage may vary, but for me this is a solid performer with an expensive and modern aura. Why would you need this one in addition to PInk Sugar, you might ask. Good question. Pink Sugar is berries and spun sugar up top and that wonderful, layerable dry down. Thouq is Roses and Incense and Cream and Sugar and Powder and musk. They aren't the same at all except for the aforementioned chemical and a certain 'pinkness', LOL. I highly recommend either, but not for powder haters. :)

Nice to see Fragrantica slowly catching up with the new Lattafa Pride additions. I got a 20ml sample of this recently from Private Blends, Aus after grabbing a bottle of Lattafa Ansaam (great The Most Wanted clone) and one of their Maison Alhambra line, Cassius (pretty good Carlisle clone). Straight off the bat, this leans feminine and stays that way. I mean, if you’re a man who likes jammy rose and the sweetness of lychee on your skin, fill your boots. I also got a hint of earthiness from the vetiver and a faint smoky undertone, but there are too many sweet notes in this, and rose scents and me don’t usually get on that well. Powers away for a good few hours (around the 6-7 mark). Moderate projection off one spray. Not for me, but the Mrs likes it. Smells good on her.

This is a gorgeous perfume in absolutely hideous, mismatched packaging. This is definitely Delina Exclusif, not the og Delina (I’m wearing one on one hand and one on the other). It’s absolutely beautiful. The soft vanilla base and incense (it’s not smoky) are very well done. It’s blended beautifully. It lasts for ages. It is also not wildly overpowering or punchy as some Arabic fragrances can be. This is very universally wearable. If you love Delina Exclusif and want to save some cash, this is a no brainer. Stunning. Ps. This smells exactly the same as the day I got it. It didn’t need time in a wood cellar hidden from human eyes for months. It was great right out of the crazy box, foam, dome package.

Was not a fan at first. I got this because I was not a fan of the strong powdery note that seemed to last forever in CDN Imperial. This is basically the same, but at first it had this weird metallic note on my skin. After one month, that metallic note has disappeared and the scent is growing on me. It’s a sweet, fresh floral that has a makeup lipstick smell. I have been layering BBW Covered in Roses to get rid of that strong powdery note. I do love the citrusy opening and the rosy vanilla drydown.

This was a blind buy. I really like this! The longevity is truly beast mode, sometimes I can smell it on my skin even after showering. The thing is, I expected a much smokier, kinda dirtier rose scent. This is a clean rose scent with a hint of church-like incense and warm amber. I still really like this, it's just not exactly what I expected. I'm gonna let it macerate for a while and see if and how it changes.

I really wanted to like this. The scent bubble and trail this perfume creates is amazing. But up close on my skin something smells off. Idk what it is but I can't do it. I want a fragrance that smells good in the air and when I sniff my wrist. If you don't get the weird note that I do then this perfume is great. A rich smoky, rose scent with great performance. Longevity: 8/10 Projection: 8.5/10 Overall Experience: 5/10

I agree with @Crissy25 below. This and Swiss Arabian Rose 01 have that same weird smell on my skin. I smell mielie meal porridge on the stove, then you add some cream giving it a velvety feel plus rose water and vanilla. But I don't smell this in the air when I've sprayed it on something and left it in a room. The smell itself is not that bad but I don't enjoy it much. The vanilla is quite prominent as others have mentioned below. You'd have to spray this at least an hour before you leave the house otherwise you would be sillaging everywhere. 2-3 sprays max. Half a spray in hot weather. It's so bombastic, I don't have the personality for this. This is a proper smell me before you see me. If you are a timid or "demure" kind of person, this perfume will wear you. It does soften slightly as time goes on but by then the damage is already done. This will stay in a room for hours after you have left. I would not recommend wearing this to go out to eat because the mixture of this and food smells will be chaotic. I thought I liked it when I got it, but after it sat for some months it has gotten potent. If you can, do sample before you buy. I have to wonder what Delina and Exclusif smell like. I can't imagine how this type of smell would cause a frenzy🫠. I might need to smell Delina exclusif to see if I get a similar vibe but that won't be any time soon after smelling this and Rose 01. I think the Delina DNA is just not for me.
