Eau de Lune

Its been awhile and i wish they would bring it back. I went through the bottle fairly quickly. It was fresh and clean like fresh out of the shower. Soapy more than flowery sweet.

The first time I tested this, I knew I had to have it. It was very sophisticated, pretty, and feminine, lots of florals, woods and powder with just a little bit of sweetness, the light pink liquid so befitting of this cooler airy fragrance. However, I no longer have it and can't do a proper review because within a year of purchase I got rid of it, after discovering that it was no longer soft and pretty. It turned sharper, and became way too strong the way many honey perfumes are though I did not think there was a trace of honey before...it basically turned into a floral bug spray. Some fragrances are wearable even after they have changed over time, (and time meaning 10 years or more) but this one was not, as it had changed the positive characteristics too much. All this happened about 10 years ago, when the product was relatively new on the market, so it's not like I purchased one sitting on a shelf for a long time and got stale. It's just a very unstable formula that doesn't keep, I guess. By the way, the cap was really weighty solid metal...kind of unusual.

This is a very nice scent. It is not heavy, but the scent lasts for an extended amount of time. For me, it is a daytime scent and can be worn from the Spring through the Fall. It is light and not overpowering, especially if you suffer from allergies. For a floral, it is allergy friendly. A little on the powdery side, but again, it is light. It is perfect for the work place and I also received a lot of complements when I wore this fragrance.

This has long been a favorite of mine and I just got a second bottle after finally running out. It is not a perfume I that I wear very often, as I frequently found myself not in the mood to wear this beauty. I find it very reminiscent of Guerlain Apres L'Ondee. While not identical, they have the same olfactory feel, and for some reason I do not truly understand; both can make me feel a little blue. Although there are several notes listed hear, the overriding one on my skin is a fresh realistic violet, warmed by ylang ylang and rose; it evokes a feeling of a walk in an English garden after the rain. That is probably where the "sadness" comes from, I used to do that in my father's garden that took up the whole yard...sometimes nostalgia feels like sadness. Nevertheless, this is beautiful perfume possessing moderate sillage and good longevity.
