O des Soupirs

I often forget that I have some great bottles in my stash. Occasionally (like today), I give myself a few minutes to dig deep to find something I haven't worn for a year, perhaps even longer. O Des Soupirs is todays find :-). I don't think waxy roses are trendy, at the moment, but I do love them so very much. If you twist my arm, no doubt I could wear them for weeks.... quite happily. I knew that LaP d/c Drole de Rose a while back, so I Googled to see if Malle was planning to do the same with Lipstick Rose. Unfortunately, that appears to also be d/c, maybe they'll gradually stop sending it to retailers. Three of my favorite online discounters are still selling LR. If you're seeking a FB, you should consider moving quickly before pricing goes absolutely bonkers. Back to Mazzone's O Des Soupirs, if Drole de Rose and Lipstick Rose had a baby, it would be O des Soupirs. On my skin, ODS is slightly closer to Drole de Rose than it is to Lipstick Rose. The heliotrope in ODS is not in either LR or DdR. Lots of fumies dislike heliotrope because of the playdoh thing, but on my skin the entire composition can either embrace the heliotrope or put it on center stage (like in Athalia). I suspect that the heliotrope magnifies the hyacinth, to boost the powdery effect. I consider all 3 of these beautiful roses as the ingenue type "burst of spring" rose. If you're partial to waxy rose type fragrances, O Des Soupirs is right up your alley.

I was looking for a geniune lipstick scent and I'm very happy with my O des Soupirs. It starts as classic blue can Nivea cream, and then turns into a more floral cream, and then, deep pink vintage lipstick phase starts. High sillage at the beginning, but quickly settles and is medium to long lasting. I found it similar with Ombre Rose in gold bottle without harsh aldehydes and sandalwood. I quite liked it though and couldn't understand the reason of low ratings here and on another well-known perfume platform. I've found out that LM Parfums had confirmed in 2015 that Mona di Orio was the perfumer; according to the release date, this should be one of her last designs.

The most vibrant bouquet; it’s very satisfying somehow a hint of citrus is in there and it’s creamy and dreamy floral aroma makes me feel like a put together sophisticated and chic mama! I am loving it! Completely unisex! Imagine a beautiful clean human right out of the shower and then they intentionally spoil their skin with the luxurious Nivea lotion from the blue tub! So decadent and clean!

I don't understand where the negative reviews are coming from. This is a soft comforting creamy floral. Smells very similar to the legendary Nivea cream. I can't get enough of it in the past couple of days. Got a sample and am seriously considering a full bottle.

love this; a powerful, sweet, synthetic bit sour hyacinth with lots of rose and a very powdery heliotrope that is all powdery, almond heliotrope in the base

This is a lovely sweet, waxy, floral lipstick scent that deserves a higher rating than it actually has. Sweetness is of floral type (not edible), and flowers are well blended so I realised it was hyacinth and rose only after checking the notes. To me it could be an all-day, every season type of fragrance that can fit practically any occasion. Longevity is above average, and projection average to above. I do have to admit I quite disliked it when I just got it, it had this acidic and chemical quality that was so overpowering and unpleasant. Not sure what that was but it was gone in several wearings over couple of months. I owned a decant and used it up happily, only to learn it seems it was discontinued in the meantime, which is a pity. I somewhat get the comparisons with Nivea, however I've done side-by-side comparisons with both Nivea cream and Nivea EDT, and this one smells what one might expect a perfumey Nivea perfume, well-rounded and full-bodied compared with the two (which I still do like). I do not get comparisons with Lipstick Rose, I've also done side by side comparisons and the latter was simply flat and unexciting for me. In fact, O Des Soupirs smells what I hoped Lipstick Rose would. All in all, such a decent perfume by any measure, and a solid like verging on love from me 🤗

I actually like this one. Not sure if I will buy a full bottle, but I will use my 5 ml sample gladly. I find it peaceful, soft and delicate. It makes me think of spring, a blue sky with cotton-candy-like clouds, a green hill dotted with pink flowers, a gentle breeze blowing, kids running and laughing. The hyacinth is there, but is overshadowed by a rounded, sweet rose: to me this smells exactly like rose hard candies first, with their soapy aftertaste, and like powdered sugar later, almost vanillic... Maybe it's the waterlily? I don't know, but the scent reminds me a lot of MAC lipsticks :D Sillage drops pretty quickly, after a couple of hours I had to really get my wrist under my nose to smell it.

This does exactly what the notes promise. Smell the listed flowers for real, like the hyacinth .... and this perfume does a very good job. Right, the hyacinth doesn’t smell appealing to a lot of people. although I agree that the perfume isn’t a ‘love’, I like it for its dearing realism. If only the rose wasn’t included...

I do not agree with all the negative reviews. This is an uplifting floral on a powdery base. Perfect for spring and summer. Longevity only a few hours though.

Even though this is marketed as being "unisex" I can't find anything in this that would even slightly make this wearable by a male. It opened ugly, can't lie about that, it was a synthetic and metallic smell on which I cannot really put my finger on, probably the mix of some notes is making it as at the opening none of the single notes rise to show themselves out of the mix. The heart part is a bit better, it is all about hyacinth and it smells good, it feels really natural and close to the real thing in garden. It is even a bit too sweet, heady and overpowering as the real thing tends to be. Even though the heart part is good there is still the synthetic background lingering which I cannot stand, I get the sense it might musk what's ruining this for me as the "synthetic stench" is on verge of smelling kinda "body-odour" like. Worth a try, it has a great staying power and silage and you might want to sniff just for the natural hyacinth (haven't tried any perfume with so good representation of this flower), but as for me - they did something terribly wrong here. Maybe it's just my chemistry.

Affronting kind of floral, it sits in the guest bathroom next to the can.

I just can't stand it on my skin. I've got it as a gift and it just doesn't work on me. Almost whole bottle available, ideally in exchange for another fragrance. PM me. ♥

The worst.I was thinking it would be a Stirax loaded one but it wasnt. Strangely enough,it develope a plastic,syntethic viber who really dislike me.

Do not even ask for a sample, yuck! Sorry, can't recommend.
