You Kissed Me In Paris

I am taking my time with these. There is much to unpack. I will be writing at a better time and also expand on my thoughts of Rose 1845. So many things I have been testing have given me hope for the future. Perfumery like this makes my soul weep in triumph that real, original and artistic perfumery was never lost in modern times. If you can find a way to even just sample these new ones in Lazarus' The Love Note line I would heavily urge you to. The owner's memory of strong passion and love. A tale akin to ancient Greek theater. Stimulating. Playful. Poetic. Dramatic. Vulnerable.

i don’t usually have an issue with white florals but... awful putrid opening. once a little more settled, it turns into an indolic gasoline waft with roses misted in the background. i guess it lives up to the name coz i didn’t like the smell of paris streets either

This is really lovely. Doesn't break any rules or pushes any boundaries but it's well-mannered and elegant. The rose is bright and piquant—with the help of pink pepper and cardamom. There's a slight green/soapy twist from lily of the valley note. It settles to a powder haze of carnation, iris and fluffy white musks. What's nice about it is how the rose sticks around well into the dry down; it's more geraniol/citronellol combo at this stage but it's still soft and floral. Nicely done.
