Kythnos

Wow! This is a great example of how bad Fragrantica can be when it empowers people with a voice that probably shouldn’t speak big this is used as a tool for reference. Well... I’m shocked for votes for similar - Aventus - Hacivat - bois Blanc - no way! They are as similar as a V8 Ferrari is to A V8 Crown Victoria. This is a green herbal Lavender with a fleshy green citrus bite on top and I vaguely recall the notes here may not be correct but I think it may have Mastic giving it a touch of aniseed sparkle. If not it’s from the Vetiver and patchouli which also provides the green bite. This has more in common with Drakkar Noir et Al and ironically Terre D’Hermes was down voted yet this is also a close approximation but darker and far soapier (EDP) however this lighter with more play in the verbal aspect and slightly drier. In the end it does its job - it smells exactly like the hills of my friends village in Greece. It’s a super high quality perfume for not much money I also have Christopher DiCas Parfum which is Greek and is almost very similar but more woody with clear anise in it. If this is your style grab it.

Edit: Another edit lol. Yeah, so comments about Aventus are a reasonable assertion. The longer dry down is a far better more complicated version of the Aventus dry down. For me though this is a more complicated version of Sauvage EDP. Original: Beautiful. Blind bought - took me a while to work out why it was so familiar but smells a lot like Dior Sauvage EDP - minus any cinnamon connotations and slightly more woody and a touch less sweetness. Just added this paragraph after posting after reading some reviews - yeah - people suggesting it’s like Aventus is very misleading - that’s an extremely vague comparison. It’s also nice to see I’m not the only one who compares it to Sauvage. Someone wrote it’s like Terre D’Hermes minus the orange but plus lavender which actually works as a description. In fact I prefer it to Sauvage and yes - it somehow reminds me of Greece... the fresh cooling aspect reminding me of ouzo and Greek herbs used in cooking...

Please DON'T judge Kythnos until you've had it on your skin for at least 1 or 2 hours. 3 years ago, I tested this but didn't buy it because of the opening. But after two hours it wsa great. Today, I remembered that I liked it and went to Douglas again determined to buy it. I tested it again and I thought it was horrible. "What on earth happened to my memory OR to the sample bottle!!! It's horrible!!". And came back home empty handed. Now that I've been smelling it for 5 hours, it's absolutely a different perfume! I LOVE IT again! Conclusion: don't judge it by the opening... I'll have to go back to the store again and buy it! As it was on sale, and the price was better than online... Edit 2025: it seems to be discontinued! can't find it anywhere.

This is a very good Fragrance !! It is not a clone of Aventus but it got similarities with it on the drydown. It feels like they got their inspiration from Aventus like an Aventus with a lot of Lavender, it's an everyday fragrance, I think if JC Ellena had release this one under the name of Hermès it could have be a Best Seller and a big Hype, Also Le Couvent use 80% of natural ingredients in their fragrances so it is a good point, Longevity is around 6hours it projects good for 1-2hours,

It got a similar and more complex drydown than Aventus But I also agree with people who said that’s also similar drydown to sauvage EDP I think it is spot on to say that it’s a mix of the drydown of Aventus and Sauvage EDP But for Terre d’Hermes I don’t see any similarities It could be a Creed release for sure, It is a beautiful fragrance easy to wear, compliment getter and a dumb reach.

Awesome fragrance, reminds me of sauvage without the annoying and cloying nuances. Way cooler but no way near the performance. 7/10 Can’t wait to test it out in mid summer to see how it acts.... Maybe actually in Kythnos :D

It smells nothing like Aventus or its clones, but it does a similar thing. Very versatile indeed and i very much prefer to wear Kythnos over my 2018 batch of Aventus and the performance is way better.

Beautiful scent! I guess my nose is locked in on patchouli, 'cause that's what I get most in the dry-down. Magnificent scent!

Amazing spicy lavender and vetiver. Champ d'Influence meets a bit of pienapply Aventus

At first snif i was a bit disappointed it. Found it kind of "closed" or weak. Tried it the day before on paper and there it didnt really smell like much either. But then after 30-40 min on my skin a bit of heat, it took off and transformed into this lovely fresh spicy Lavender. Really a lot og lavender and with the thyme bringing the fresh spice into the scent. In the drydown the vetiver comes more and more through and brings earthy and woody nuances in play. It stays like this for 6-8 hours on my skin. The lavender thankfully never disappears. I am really pleased with the scent.

It does resemble to aventus after 1-2 hours. If you like the Aventus DNA or easy to wear, people pleasing perfumes in general, then give this one a try, it smells good, especially for the price! Not for me, unfortunately.

This is pretty good. Lavender and spices with a good performance. Official list: Top note : Azurine Lavender Heart note : Thyme Base note : Vetiver The way this house has been re-imagined is a lesson in perfumery.

Like Alessandro says this scent does remind me of aventus, it lacks the pinapple but it has a pretty nice resemblance to aventus only a more earthy and less fruity clone. Pretty good longevity and sillage too.

Smells just like the drydown of Creed Aventus. Missing only the top citrus notes from pineapple. Good cheap substitute

Far too much thyme (more than in Sperone from the same brand), which gives a very unpleasant pungent-peppery sensation. It fades after a few minutes, revealing lavender, but the beginning is too unpleasant to consider wearing for me. Useful details : english is not my mother tongue and my opinions are copied and pasted from my personal notes, written on the fly after several phases of testing (tracking changes for several hours on blotters, then on my skin for a day).

Tarnation! Somebody swap noses with me. I almost bought this blind after finding it in a huge sale and looking at the notes. Lavender and vetiver are my favorite notes, and I love Le Couvents natural scents. Match made in heaven. I gave it a test and then another one. But I'll be damned if my nose picks up anything but thyme. No lavender, more pencil shavings than vetiver, but mostly just all thyme, all the time. Oddly enough I also understand that Aventus similarity. Who knows how, but it's there. What a drag! But check out Kythnos to see if you have a more fortunate nose than mine. PS. EDIT: I leave the original review below so folks can see what they might need to expect initially (though I have to eat my words a little here). OK. So in just a few short weeks this has morphed into a REALLY good perfume. Strong, lasting very long/excellent longevity and most importantly masculine AF. I can only recommend it, even as a blind buy, and will be getting a 100ml bottle first opportunity. Apologies to Le Couvent Maison and to the perfumer. Below my initial impression which was less than favorable. Terminology. A PERFUME is something where... 1 spray. Maybe two. And the people in the next village close their windows. You yourself can smell it powerfully and it lasts all day long. Easily. THEN you have those watered down weak-ass scents that barely make it into deodorant territory. Sadly, that's what we're looking at here. For this Deodorant, you'd need the olfactory equivalent of a magnification glass. The scent itself ain't all bad, but it's definitely soft in nature as well. Soft and indistinct and... Frankly quite boring. Just too weak. If you want a scent that you can't smell, go for it. The drydown is OK. But weak. Noooot worth it, sadly. And this is the most masculine one of the line?? Well I know not to bother with anything more from this house, sorry. You want good reviews, make good, REAL Perfumes. Mark PS I give it about a year for maceration/maturation and then revisit. Perhaps there will be a positive update... But don't hold your breath

With all due respect this is not like Aventus (and definitely not Sauvage!), bar perhaps immediately at the beginning for several seconds as there's obviously some unlisted citrus (bergamot?) at play. However without being a xerox copy, this does remind me of Terre d'Hermes - this would make sense for the Greek connection (Hermes and Kythnos), surely this can't be a coincidence can it? I doubt it. Anyway, it's a nice scent, not harsh at all yet not shy either, I'm quite impressed even if I don't need another TdH type scent right now, I would consider this in the future. The high quality presentation is definitely reflected in the scent, at discounters this brand could represent excellent value in my opinion, I really like their 'Porto Bello' scent too. Kudos to this brand for being vegan thus animal friendly too (an example all brands should follow imo).

High quality, intriguing, rooty, herbal stuff. The texture is an unusual clash of sharp-as-a-blade vetiver and soft, silky lavender. Quite odd but very wearable. Has a licorice vibe. You could tell me it smells of grapevine or weeds. I don't own anything quite like this, but the fragrances it reminds me of most are Terre d'Hermes Parfum and H24 EDP. I doesn't remind me of TdH EDT (apart from maybe some flinty dryness), and it's not "similar to" Aventus, but it *does* smell like the birch+moss part of Aventus, particularly in the far dry-down. It's the fragrance equivalent of a black T shirt - it's dark but you can wear it in warm weather, and it goes with anything. UPDATE: This is excellent in real heat (33°C yesterday).

I do get the resemblance between this and aventus. The patchouli note here is way more earthy and green, when it isnt accompanied by the smoky birch tar. This, to me, is much more office friendly and usable in a professional environment (unless you're a bartender). Performance is slightly above average. I like it. It's a masculine contemporary frag that doesn't offend and isn't going to break the bank. It's when you don't want to over-use your favorites and want something that is going to suit most occasions.

Mlke its sad, iff its a high Quality fragrance it often smells for a few hours, and these dudes coming here comenting ... fried nose hairs from red tobacco and sauvage? It only smells for 3hrs!! Well....we dont want to smell you....i smell your type every day.. on the buss.. smells like you took a bath in iso e super and ambroxan and went noseblind so you took 20 sprays before leaving the house.. Please dont buy stuff you dont grasp and come here and spitt on this well made high Quality crafted scent.

It is incumbent upon humanity to possess an innate sharpness in perceiving the depth of intensity across all sensory domains, whether auditory, visual, tactile, or olfactory. Certain Superglue prove more amenable to removal than haute couture perfume, a notion not to be taken lightly. Thankfully, with diligent effort, the human form possesses the capacity for rejuvenation, allowing it to "reclaim its sensibilities," so to speak.

I just needed to comment after reading the utter nonsense and hilarious self indulgent machismo that realfrags is coming at this review with. WEAK FRAGS DESERVE DEATH. A PERFUME IS...SOMETHING...THAT I SMELL. Like c'mon bro why don't you sit down and drink a glass of sauvage to cool off or something. you'll feel better about your life choices. God forbid this had anything unisex in the notes as I think they would have exploded.

How on Earth do you compare it to Aventus, Sauvage or Prada Luna Rossa??? :)))) This fragrance is first of all spicy, and remains spicy all the time, add lavander, much lavander, and that's it, it's Kynthos

Very high absolute quality, it reminds me a lot of creed aventus .. Excellent projection and duration 9/10 the perfume itself is fantastic .. Too bad it's made to replicate aventus

[Kythnos] ⚫️⚫️⚪️⚪️⚪️ Not at all like Aventus. Sauvage is more accurate and Luna Rossa Carbon is dead on. Nothing amazing but a standard masculine for the masses.

How the duck you guys smell Aventus there? It is similiar to Terre d'Hermes + lavender and herbs.

Another try to clone aventus. Looking at the price tag I prefer vibrant leather from Zara
