Jasmin (2020)

I have to agree with the other reviews below that this one super slutty perfume! It's a fine and filthy jasmine that I can gladly fuck with, as I like my jasmine to be dirty, dishevelled, and oozing indoles so intensely that it leaves me feeling intoxicated and my breathing in so deeply, like I'm desperately wanting to take everything in as much as possible. The effect is akin to desperate lust! I want and I need to inhale it and I feel it light up things in my brain and body that I probably shouldn't admit is possible for a perfume note. This is a classic cyphre perfume, with a not at all classy jasmine doing a private strip tease for you. The opening is all intense jasmine, like your seeing stars of 1000s of these little white flowers all at once. The orange citrus note gives it all a flash of brightness and then the lily and narcissus florals further deepen and dirty up the jasmine. I cannot detect the ylang-ylang too much (which is OK as I'm not a huge lover of it) but I really like the slightly sweaty cumin note that is in the background from the opening, as it brings a really sexual, sensual and alive feeling to everything going on here, like there's an almost actual human sweat note present. The dry down sees the florals calm down a bit, relaxing in the afterglow, as it all catches its breath again whilst laying on it's dark fruity and patchouli bed in nothing but thigh high leather boots. I want a full bottle of this one badly. It's a real wild ride!

I know this page is for the 2020 version, but since there’s no listing for the vintage edition, I’ll leave my review here. I own a small vintage bottle nearly full of amber-hued liquid, crowned with a golden cap, housed in a metal canister with a relief of a ship. I believe it’s from before 1980, perhaps even earlier. Just the tiniest drop on my skin from the tiny mouth of this bottle... and I almost recoiled. An explosive surge of jasmine—not the white, noble, airy kind, but jasmine that is fleshy, carnal, sensual, and wildly animalic. It’s dizzyingly indolic, the kind that might make you physically ill if smelled when you’re feeling unwell. Even applying jasmine absolute directly to the skin (which I wouldn’t do!) may not match the sheer intensity of this. The jasmine is so overpowering that it seems to eclipse everything else. But when I try to focus intently, I think I detect something spicy—maybe pepper? cumin? Or perhaps something resinous or clay-like. But these thoughts are fleeting. Jasmine whispers, “Look only at me,” and I do. This fragrance truly feels like being buried alive in jasmine—and part of me doesn’t even mind.

I really love it. Very unusual Jasmin fragrance. With a dirty opening (cumin), slowly water down the dirtiness and the lovely floral start to bloom. Really unisex fragrance and can wear night and day.

A very, very, sensual jasmine.

This is a lovely floral fragrance that has a bit of an old, like real OLDE world kinda fragrance. I like this in the sense that it has a natural, and lovely floral vibe-- one from the 1700's. Sounds odd, I know. The opening notes are an odd tabac- like mix with Jasmine. It is worthy of a 30ml, but not of a 100ml. Very nice, but not one to kill me into a full bottle.

This is a kind of "wilted flowers in a vase" style fragrance with Jasmine being the most pronounced floral. There is a cumin note on top too. Not very strong but lasts at least 8h on my skin.

There’s just no other way to put it, Jasmin from Le Galion is quite possibly the sluttiest fragrance I have ever smelled. And I mean that from the bottom of my slutty heavy metal music video-loving heart. Imagine the late Tawny Kitaen swirling around in her lacy lingerie in a Whitesnake video where she's cartwheeling across David Coverdale’s cadre of Lamborghinis and then sticking her tongue deep into his eardrum as they’re racing down the highway at 120 mph. Boozy champagne kisses, musky sweat-soaked sheets, heady, narcotic nocturnal blooms, and effervescent hairspray aldehydes–Jasmin is the scent of a joyfully depraved midnight rendezvous accompanied by epic guitar solos and censorship advisories.

Old world elegance. Even though launched in 2020, the fragrance is similar to the feminine and elegant floral chypre perfumes of the Italian designers Fendi, Armani, Trussardi from the beginning of the 80s. A classic floral bouquet on a chypre base.

Intensive cumin and cresol(Narcissus) with sharp Cyclamen... not sweet Jasmine.
