Tubéreuse Trianon

It's a cold May day, bright white sky, wavering just a hair under fifty. Last week it was hot storms, rumbling grey clouds the height of skyscrapers, flirting with hitting the mid-eighties for the first time this year. I'm very lucky this is when I met my Trianon sample; by far my favorite of the Retrouvé florals I've now tried. Their Violet may equal it to someone of different tastes than I, but my heart is too enamored with white florals. I've loved Narcotic Venus a long time, and it's been my only long encounter with tuberose. This may join it, an older and fresher sister. I enjoyed Trianon quite a bit, in my limited time with it, during those hot heady days where it clings to me all day, melts itself. But now today by the window, my arms and shoulders bare, Trianon on my chest - could this have been an autumn fragrance the whole time? A spring day that feels like an autumn one - a tropical scent that reminds me not of blazing beaches and fruiting jungle but of a conservatory - of wrought-iron frames in the cold, of glass greenhouse walls separating birds of paradise from the busy streets of a big city slipping further towards winter. Not sexual like V. can be, but sensual in the way a jacket resting gently on your shoulders can be, sensual like the border between warm skin and cold sky. Crystal-clear like a mountain spring, dense and velvet like fruit pith and fleece. I think I'm falling in love. But I have to treat this girl Trianon gently - I wonder if she's too perfect, too delicate for the summer, a girl born for tender cold cappuccino days and a happy artists' ennui. A little blush of indole in the background, and addictive enough that I'll want to drink her in through the whole year out of sheer fascination - can't leave her alone. [Edit, a month into wearing this almost daily] Wow this one has stopped my wider perfume exploration in its tracks. I've never gone through a bottle more quickly - I'm growing utterly dependent on this. After having spent time with this I can say that with longer wears, this loses sillage quite quickly, and that early burst of crisp and perfect fresh green does in fact fade in warmer weather abruptly, when it can hang much longer in the cold. But through early summer this one gains this beautiful beautiful animalic note with time, slightly indolic and warm and alluring but still chaste, still very close to the chest, and it just makes my head spin. A beautiful and noble opening, an intimate and robust finish - cannot get enough, what a love letter to tuberose and everything it suggests. The longer I wear this the more I appreciate how deep it is!

Tubéreuse Trianon by Le Jardin Retrouvé is a beautiful take on tuberose with a creamy coconut base. It leans green but not necessarily fresh, the touch of Ylang is lovely. And while it’s not an overly "carnal" or overpowering scent, it’s still absolutely sexy—an elegant and joyful interpretation of tuberose. This fragrance is delightful and radiant, with a hint of fruitiness that is not overly sweet. I didn't feel any coriander. What stands out the most is the high-quality ingredients, especially considering the reasonable price. I have the small bottle in the pouchon (a fabric bag). Tubéreuse Trianon lasts over six hours on my skin, which is fantastic, though the projection fades a bit sooner. Still, it's very satisfying overall. Though listed as unisex, it feels more feminine to me. The company ships from France, and I was delighted to receive a personalized handmade bag with the samples and a customized letter that added a special touch to the experience.

This is a stunning take on a white floral fragrance. Smells like stepping into a hothouse: the banana leaves, the tropical flowers, the overwhelming greenery with waxy leaves. It's creamy and green without being at all "sweet" and feels very photorealistic. On another note, I had quite a bad experience with the brand. They haven't changed their exorbitant shipping costs despite now shipping within the US. They sent me the wrong fragrance first, and gave nothing for the hassle of having to return it. They don't even include a note or the little bags any longer despite raising the price of the perfume.

Oh my goodness!This is superb (thank you for the advice Bubu del Fiore) Not too sweet, not too indolic, but maybe too hard to pass up! I only have samples (so far) but the personal contact from Michel & Theodore was surprising & very pleasing, I don't think I have ever had better customer service.Add that to the fabulous quality of the fragrance & you have a delight awaiting you.

Very green and crisp tuberose fragrance. It has a "tropical" base (coconut, frangipani) but does not smell like a sweet vacation-resort fragrance if you know what I mean. I can definitely smell the coriander which is an unusual touch. Smells very natural, high quality, last for hours.

Tubéreuse Trianon is a wonderfully sexy tuberose. Many tuberose fragrances are strictly for the ingénue, but Tubéreuse Trianon is grounded and definitely "grown-up" sexy. It respects the beauty of tuberose without ever becoming too sweet. Love it.

Simple but nice realistic tuberose with a hint of jasmine.Very romantic.

We gone back in time, more precisely in 1689. Tubéreuse Trianon speaks about the romances that arose inside the Palace of Versailles, which was the center of power in the ancient regime of France, at a time when the courtesans had more influence than the Queens. In its surroundings, in an extension of its gardens, was built the Grand Trianon, also known as Trianon de Marbre, since its facade is all made of marble. Tubéreuse Trianon depicts a walk at night, by fragrant flowerbeds, with exchanging glances and seductive scent in the air. This new fragrance is a new vision of Tubéreuse, which was released in 1980, by Yuri Gutsatz. In its current composition there are notes of Indian tuberose, coriander, jasmine, ylang-ylang and Raspberry. On my skin, the Tuberose was not carnal, but sexy. The smell of the jasmine that was used reminded me of the scent of plumerias (frangipani) and not of jasmine itself. However, the smell of ylang-ylang excelled sweet and narcotic, reinforcing the reason of being considered the flower of desire. It is very common to see this trio of flowers in fragrances that seek to portray the Tuberose as main theme. And as happened with Rose Trocadéro, the fragrance of Tubéreuse Trianon lasted for more than seven hours on my skin, which is a positive point. Only the projection was slightly less durable, but very satisfactory in general. I know people who feel afraid to wear fragrances that bring the Tuberose as its central theme, because of its animalic and vibrant appearance. But here's a nice example of a perfume made with no pointy edges. And even though is a floral scent, I can imagine several men wearing this perfumed bouquet, revealing a side without prejudices and full of ulterior motives. The times may have changed, but the lovers of yore, with their forbidden romances, still exist in our society, hidden and lurking.

For tuberose lover! It is the star of the perfume, strong, bold, with a small touch of Ylang Ylang. Very potent, more for a woman to my opinion. Natural, good ingredient. While Rose Trocadero is for a delicate woman, Tuberose Trianon is for the sexy woman. And in fact, you are in the Palace of Versailles. Dont blind buy. More for spring and fall. 6/10 --> In this brand, for summer, I prefer Verveine d'été. Verveine d'été (verbena & bergamot) > Citron Boboli (lemon & clove) > Eau des délices (citrous cologne) --> For spring: Rose Trocadero (a lovely rose fragrance, very fresh) --> For fall: Tubéreuse Trianon (strong tuberose & ylang ylang)

This opens with some tart and fresh rhubarb with thankfully no hints of coriander. The heart of this highlights a creamy white floral medley with tuberose at the forefront. I also get hints of some banana esque ylang ylang and a tinge of soapiness from the lily of the valley. Dry down is a fun and fruity blend of creamy coconut, white florals, and tartly sweet raspberry. A very enjoyable floral!

A nice bouquet- as someone else said, it's fairly green, but not necessarily fresh. I definitely get the tuberose, jasmine and some vaguely fruity qualities. I appreciate it more as it settles, than right after spraying. It's a pretty face, but it's sort of.. lacking some character, a bit unremarkable- to me. I think I'll like layering this one more.

This smells very similar to Michael Kors which makes sense because it is a tuberose dominant fragrance. It is very nice but eventually becomes a little on the sweet, cloying side. It doesn't seem to last that long though.

Charming, joyful and very tastefully done tubéreuse. It's quitte fruity too, but not particularly sweet. Sunny and happy. Great quality and quitte reasonably priced.

Nice clean smell. Fresh laudry after drying in the sun, on a spring afternoon. I don't think this perfume is enough to be a signature scent, i like layering it tho !

This is a beautiful tuberose with a creamy coconut base. The base reminds me a bit of the Memo's summer perfume called Lalibela (it has a similar beachy vibe with florals). Tubereuse Trianon is not ground-breaking. It's not super unique or unusual. It is your typical floral fragrance that is straightforward, feminine, slightly spicy due to coriander and citruses, and slightly woody due to the base notes. I personally would not be adding it to my collection.

whoa this is that weird tuberose note that smells exactly like a scratch and sniff book i had as a child..anyway, it's a greener tuberose, not indolic or creamy. i think i'm getting petitgrain/neroli and a hint of spice as well. it gets a bit sweeter over time with coconut and a hint of frangipani. mostly that tuberose for me though. it's nice but weird because of my personal scent associations.

I would describe this as fresh, green, and creamy. In my search for the "perfect" tuberose scent, I expected to enjoy this a lot more than I did. This is maybe too green and heady for me. For reference, I love Tocca Florence. While these too are in the same family, they are definitely different.

I wanted to sample this for the mix of rhubarb, petitgrain and white flowers but the tuberose overpowers everything to my nose. Shame.

Coriander, petitgrain, and a touch of rhubarb. An astringent herbal with a touch of sweetness and tuberose peeking through. Then, tuberose, ylang ylang, neroli and jasmine, but strangely herbal. The coriander really ruins this for me. Frangipani and tuberose florals and weird, herbal, green notes, too contrasting. A tiny touch of coconut. Mostly florals contrasting with an irritating herbal note. Finally, much later, the tuberose begins to break free, but it can never shake this herbal annoyance.

SOTN: Sample of Le Jardin Retrouve Tubereuse Trianon (Michel Gutsatz) I am about to gush. What an absolutely sexy, gorgeous interpretation of tuberose! With Tubereuse Trianon I get a succulent creamy, sweet tuberose. I get a jasmine that seems to pull a bit like plumeria as it mixes with a soft raspberry. The ylang-ylang is rich and deep. I don't get the coriander as an individual note but rather feel as if it anchors the tuberose from becoming too sharp. This juice would be such an easy scent to wear even for those who shy away from an often garish tuberose. Tuberose Trianon is the potion of liaisons; a fragrance that beckons. "1689. You are headed towards the Trianon in the Versailles garden where the King has had a profusion of flowerbeds planted. It is evening. You pass by a group of courtesans. A gaze pierces you. In its wake, the heady scent of tuberose, mingled with jasmine and ylang-ylang, and as though veiled, the unexpected trace of raspberry. Your heart just encountered love. It melts. Floral: Indian Tuberose, Coriander, Ylang-Ylang"

As with any fragrance, chemistry is the key. For me, a huge blast of coriander and medicinal tuberose came to greet me. Definitely an aromatic fragrance. The raspberry tinges around this cloud. If you arent into the usual white floral interpretation of tuberose, this is for you. A man can definitely wear this. A wintergreen tuberose. There isnt any obvious feminine touches to this one. A bit austere, but well done. Jasmine comes to augment the unique opening, and settles into its identity. It is strong and even made my throat tighten and eyes begin to water. When the above copy said this was a penetrating fragrance, they weren't kidding. Its very well done, Someone with much more modern avant-garde sensibilities is a better fit. Try before you buy. The company ships quickly from France and I even received a handmade bag with the samples. A quality house experience.

Tubéreuse Trianon perfectly illustrates the romantic facet of this versatile flower. In this perfume, the tuberose has joined a sunny jasmine and a seductive ylang ylang note and together they merge into a very creamy and feminine scent. Even though it is listed as unisex, for me, Tubéreuse Trianon is certainly made to caress a woman's skin. The fragrance is very potent and stays on my skin for hours and hours, but its velvety texture makes it very easy to wear and to love. If you want something different, a luminous tubereouse, I think you must give Tubéreuse Trianon a good try! You might be surprised :)

I just love this one. In my mind, even though tuberose is considered white floral, some tuberose fragrances are white and some are yellow, and the rest are somewhere in between. This one is yellow. YELLOW yellow. With bits of green. It’s bright and sunny and aromatic, warm effervescent yellow florals balanced by sweet tuberose. There’s a slightly bitter green note that smells like a freshly snapped green bean, straight from the garden. It makes me smile every time I get a whiff of it throughout the day, which is often, because it’s got great longevity.

This is a decadent Versailles perfume. The kind everyone wants but only the nobles can afford. Another analogy: If this fragrance was Destiny’s Child the tuberose is Beyoncé. It is the star of the show. So strong and powerful (the sillage is insane.) Like others have mentioned this is a sexy tuberose scent. Very confident sexy, not a wallflower. I was personally hoping for more of the other notes but my nose can only pick up this tuberose power house. I have a .27 oz/8ml full decant to sell or trade please PM if interested.

I absolutely love tuberose when it's deployed with a musk, and you can lean into the starchy, creamy quality of it. However, in this case, the sharpness of the coriander, rhubarb and petitgrain create a bizarre sympathetic note that reminds me of French's yellow mustard. Aside from this, tuberose trianon is pleasant but fleeting on my skin. I like to layer it with basic musks, but I'm not a huge fan of wearing it on its own.

naughty! miss trianon stuck her nose so far into a bushel of white flowers that the whole court can see her bloomers. it's creamy to the ends of the earth. so raw that it is green and dirty. it has the same addictive disgust as a mall cinnabon in the most complimentary way possible. I want to experience this on someone else, might make my friend wear it and check back in.

This is a very well composed tuberose. Just the right amount of indole to make it fresh and authentic without being too "rotting-flesh". (Reminds me a little of Moon Bloom here) Tubereuse Trianon is a bright scintillating scent with soft round edges. One of the most wearable and pleasurable tuberose perfumes.

super aromatic tuberose. i love the cold, clinical qualities that tuberose can have, and i feel like the spices and petitgrain here really accentuate those qualities further. this is a very green and biting tuberose in comparison to the ones i usually go for.

It took me a while to appreciate this, mainly because I don't like coriander. Very green though not "fresh," smoky warm tuberose. Not a safe blind buy. Very unisex because of the warmth.

Stunning. long lasting tuberose. This one is up there with the greats. Superb.
