Fleur d'Oranger 27

Oh boy, do I love this! Well, I gotta admit, this brings back a lot of memories for me so it's a rather biased review. I'll have to start with a story here. My first encounter with Fleur d'Oranger, or any Le Labo, was about a year ago when I was in Melbourne. It was my first time in the Southern Hemisphere, so seasons were switched up and it was Summer when for me it should actually be winter. I walked into a store, sampled a few Le Labos and immediately liked this one. It wasn't a love but a strong like because it just literally smelled like natural Oranges. Not artificial in any way. I then proceeded to work on a few citrus farms, which was the hardest work I've ever done. It was pretty tough but I always loved the strong citrus smell in the morning! A year has passed and I still seriously loved that smell although I didn't even work there anymore. I came back to my home country and ordered myself this Le Labo. It was instant love. Every time I spray this it brings me back to those exhausting but yet exciting and fun times. As I already said, the scent is very natural with the dirt but also the citrus elements. It literally smells like those citrus farms I went to (although I never worked with Orange trees..). There is nothing really like it, although some Tom Ford PBs also have strong citrus notes. The fact that this one is an orange scent, makes it more unique in my opinion. It's not too strong and also not extremely long lasting but it's decent! Would I, as a regular person without any emotional connection, pay 155 Euros (probably around 180 USD and around 350 AUD) for it? Absolutely not. I think it's extremely overpriced but for some reason there's just something that connects me with le labo.. there is no other house that does this the way le labo does. So yeah, for me it was 100% worth it - for the memory. I think it's unisex, although quite a bit more on the feminine side. I'm a guy and I wear this one with pride though, so I guess anyone could wear it. Winter works well, summer does too. For me it's both. I encountered it first in summer but citrus season in my home country is in winter, so both seasons seem to work. The only thing I can certainly say is that it's a day scent. I love it and I'll always keep it in my collection! I got about 25mls left but they'll probably last for years because I use it rarely, just to bring back the memories once in a while. Good, but overpriced! Edit: This also strongly reminds me of bubble tea, not sure why. Just thought I'd mention that!

Le Labo..........., this was my fourth purchase from this ubiquitous niche house! I didn't know until a couple years back that the number after the name of the fragrance represents THE NUMBER OF INGREDIENTS in that concoction- the Name on the bottle represents the MAIN INGREDIENT in that particular fragrance..... (duh...., LoL). Hence, Fleur D'Organger 27 is ALL ABOUT that gorgeous, soft, comforting and sensual Orange blossom note.... It may not be for everyone, but for me- I reach for it instinctively on a regular basis, especially on those muggy, dreary days when I need some refreshment and a picker-upper..... Opens with that signature Le Labo burst of freshness- a familiar green floral freshness opg orange blossoms..... The composition is a masterful weaving of that tart citrus (bergamot), the floral sweetness of orange blossom and that green leafy quality of petitgrain...... The result?!?! A highly enjoyable citrous/floral scent with that signature musky backbone.... , as this composition develops though, that feeling of laying in the grass under a basket of orange trees in full bloom dissipates.... What I am left with us a dark Amber musky base, that strangely comes off a bit like liquorice on my skin........... Final thought: if you like this one and you are adventurous enough to amp it up a few levels, then PLEASE TRY L'Artisan's Fleur D'Oranger... L'Artisan captures the exuberance of spring flowers in full bloom, but it goes FURTHER in that it highlights their various stages & aspects as the frag dries down.... It is this that makes me feel that for NOW: L'Artisan Fleur D'Oranger is the "Gold Standard"!

Of all the design houses out there, Le Labo is the only one that I have consistently enjoyed. Fleur d’Oranger 27 is a delightful unisex floral that is refreshing and perhaps a little kinky in a playful summery way. It opens with an oddly sweet-but-masculine combination of fresh citrus and green notes (bergamot, petit grain and lemon) before settling with ease into an almost gourmand musky orange blossom note. The musk is the key to this fragrance, giving it a fresh-n-clean backbone and a sort of muggy weight at the same time, like sitting in the mist of a waterfall on a hot summer day. It’s a fresh sort of mugginess that carries you around, offering a rejuvenation of the spirit. Even though it’s a bit linear - there is very little transition from head to base – it is as entrancing as a jazz musician playing the same note over and over again: The orange blossom note remains throughout but the key keeps changing, giving it a dynamic sensation without giving in. Sillage is moderate (stays fairly close) and longevity is excellent (lasts an entire day). When I wear FdO, I often imagine myself on a deserted island, using the indigenous flowers and fruit to make my own fragrance – only to discover I’m not alone. FdO makes the fantastic sublime, and the sublime fantastic!

My absolute favorite summer scent - this orange flower smells like actual orange flowers, without the tempering sweetness, softness or cloying notes that so many perfumers believe they must include to get across the flower of it all. Actual orange flowers have green citrus leaf notes, oily citrus peel notes, slightly bitter pithy bits and are clean and refreshing while still being meant to attract insects, not people (they don't smell like a bath!). Le Labo hits it out of the park in this way with all of the pith, peel and leaf in the bottle - and it's these notes that make the scent lean a bit more unisex than, say, an ultra clean Orange Flower from Jo Malone (which I also like, but is nowhere near as intriguing). How this scent packs it all in without being overly "perfumey" is a wonder. (Note: I have an older bottle. If it has indeed been reformulates, this review may not apply)

Got a sample of this in a discovery set for Christmas and OH MY GOD it's absolutely gorgeous. The issue: Le Labo fragrances are insanely expensive, especially on an early-career budget, and this smells... dupeable in a way that's hard to describe. I don't actually think you could get anything EXACTLY like this without paying this price, mind, this is fab and smells expensive. (Plus it doesn't vanish on me straight away like all Jo Malone perfumes do.) But it's easily the most straightforward and inoffensive of the LL lot I've tried so far. This is someone's perfect signature, but at this price point I'd want something a little more head-turning. BUT I STILL LOVE HER and will be finishing this sample pretty quick.

My all time favorite Le Labo fragrance! It is so airy and crisp, and barely lasts! It is wildy effervescent, both because I become noseblind and because it evaporates into its thin musky base very quickly. Most Le Labo fragrances I can smell remnants on my skin at the end of the day, but for this it is just a skin-scent that smells like something "good", but not discernible. I had someone tell me that the inital blast of fragrance smells like artifical grapes and that made me love it even more. To me, it smells like jasmine without the indoles, and sometimes very nice orange blossom. The crispy refreshing element of this fragrance probably comes from the petitgrain and lemon. Would usually wear this year round!

An absolutely arresting opening. A piercing petitgrain green-citrus sharpness hand-in-hand with the sparkling effervescence of orange blossom. Delicate, white waxy petals and yellow stamens; an electric citrus-floral scent carried on a breeze. Though no base notes are listed, Fleur d'Oranger 27 has a long-lasting (8+ hours) dry-down of fruity, sweet, lemony cream and musky blonde woods. There's also a hint of something a little salty or even sweaty. Cashmeran, I would guess. A transparent, sheer delight. I've been wearing it non-stop this Spring. Douse yourself liberally and enjoy. 4.5/5 PS: Do not listen to the myriad reviews below from folks who have clearly only worn it once or smelled it on a blotter.

my search for the perfect orange blossom is over because i am absolutely in love. when you spray this it's like standing in an orange grove in full bloom. i worked in citrus groves a few years ago and grew up next to an orange and grapefruit grove, so i had a very specific smell in mind. my skin usually destroys every perfume within seconds lol but i can still smell this on my forearm after literally 12 hours and it lasted days on my clothes. i walked around outside for a while too. it's not a super strong scent or a huge scent bubble, and it's very intimate at the moment (i repeat: after 12+hours) but i am super impressed that a fresh, realistic orange blossom scent is still noticeable on my skin !!!

This is terrible. After the initial spritz, I wanted to wash my hands so badly. Unfortunately, Saks doesn't offer "Oops Sinks" at every turn. As it dried down, it DID become better, but by "better" I mean I didn't want to scrub my skin off. It has an underlying soapy smell, which sticks in your sinuses. It's now been a full two hours. It has settled in, and while it's no longer a terrible smell, it's not something that I would ever consider wearing. HOWEVER, everyone here at my office, aside from one younger person, loves it. I'll never understand how something smells in a way that I greatly dislike can smell, TO OTHERS, like something lovely.

First blast of sweet tuberose and orange blossom, lush and musk. The florals are deep and transportive, they take me straight into a warm greenhouse that's full of blossoms and yet I don't feel choked or overwhelmed by them. They're strong to be sure but not headache-inducing and I don't really get any citrus on my skin. This scent is not unique or ground breaking but there's just something charming about this scent. It's like a garden wedding in a bottle. I'm not one for florals but this one, I could wear. Ultra feminine and best for cool weather. 6+ hours later: Not a molecule left but it was still beautiful and linear up until then.

The enchanting orange blossom dominates here for sure and it's mixed into a perfect harmony with a fresh and uplifting citrusy notes. Fd'O 27 is very feminine, very fresh, bright, delightful. Luckily doesn't turn powdery nor soapy on my skin as some of the reviews mentioned, which I wouldn't have liked. It is really pleasant to wear, I feel the need to sniff it again and again. A fragrance that will make you feel so much more put together instantly. Makes a perfect everyday perfume and it's definitely signature scent worthy. The sillage is very nice and longevity quite impressive as well.

I've been wearing this for a decade and my love has never wavered. It's the fragrance that started my love affair with all things orange (Serge Lutens Fleurs d'Oranger, Tocca Stella, etc). It's the one I wear when I want to smell softly, mysteriously good. Don't get me wrong — I own my fair share of powerhouses filled with oud and incense and spices and the like — but scents that sneak up on you can also be powerfully alluring. And Fleur d'Oranger 27 is one of the best at that, in my opinion. Strangely enough, I've never been wooed by any other Le Labo, but that's fine by me.

This opens as a beautiful, green orange blossom perfume. This one has less citrus in it compared to Jasmin 17 and is not as sweet as that one. The dry down of this is less green and becomes a creamier white floral and musk scent that's just heady and lasts a while. Sometimes orange blossom has a strong soapy quality to it, like in Diptyque's Eau de Sens, and that's present here, but only ever so slightly. I really love how clean and pretty this one is and I get compliments on it often, it's probably my favorite orange blossom perfume out there.

This is exactly like when you walk past a flowering tree in the springtime and you get a whiff of the sweet, white blossoms and stop to smell them and are like “wow I wish I smelled like this”. Really well captured, photorealistic orange blossom. It’s very floral, a little green, just heavenly smell of orange blossoms. Definitely a feminine scent, and it smells sophisticated and classic. It dries down to a sweet, soapy powdery scent. That said, the projection is on the weaker side, it's quite expensive, and re-application is a given.

A natural orange blossom with zesty, spicy accompaniment. Back when I was inexperienced in fragrance, I went to a Le Labo store, and this one was my favorite, along with Jasmin 17. However, Le Labo is priey, so I chose Fleur d'Oranger 27. Fleur d'Oranger 27 doesn't have as much clear depth and uniqueness as the other Le Labo scents according to critics, however. Anyway, this fragrance has become a part of me, as this is my signature scent now, and will be until my bottle breaks. And this is just the beginning of my fragrance journey.

Amazing scent. My first niche fragrance! floral and citrus even with a slight creaminess to it. Makes me feel like I’m in Europe surrounded by flowers or something haha. I think for my first niche it was a good purchase. I don’t why most votes have it as moderate preformance. Preforms Great on me. Lasts 8 hours easy and even longer on clothes. For sure great in the heat and warmer weather. I’m hoping I can make it work in cooler weather Bc it’s so good! Leans feminine but anyone can wear, a very inviting scent for sure

I have a tendency to look for familiar scents that coordinate to events, places, moments of my life where the only memory I have of is smell. I decided to get this as soon as I tested a sample in-store, and was met by the best I could describe by sunrise at Vadhana district, 2022. I have been influenced into Le Labo by certain manic individuals in my life and while I found the popular scents, such as Santal or Bergamote rather uninteresting, this specific scent garnered my senses.

as with every le labo scent i've had the pleasure of experiencing, this one fascinates me as well ! it opens up Loud and bold, a photorealistic orange blossom. as it dries down it floats through a sort of sweet, powdery mixture — to me, it was akin to the inside of a box of bottlecaps; slightly dusty, but in a comforting way. it keeps that quality and smothers the orange blossom in a delightful, almost playful way. a very pleasant scent, especially for summer!

I first started wearing this scent after a 2 year fragrance hiatus due to allergies. I discovered it at Barneys in 2007 and it was the only scent I could wear that wouldn't give me a headache: it's like sticking your nose up to a real orange tree in bloom. Nothing sickly sweet or synthetic, just a pure, lightly pith-like orange blossom with a slightly green and woody undertone. Layer over the Fleur D'Oranger perfume oil or body lotion to extend the longevity.

@shouldnthaveausername: I STRONGLY STRONGLY suggest Bergamote 22. If not, then please try the EXCLUSIVE one to San Francisco! The name is: Limette 37- a simply Fantastic frag! The ONLY problem is: you gotta go there directly to buy it!!! Or have a friend in San Fran grab it for ya..... For me: this is the "silent killer" in the le labo line for men.... It subtly flies "under the radar"! By no means though am I saying that this is not unisex....

Wow, this is the most IN YOUR FACE orange blossom ever. It’s zingy and sharp and so bright. This is the smell of white flowers but also the leaves and stems and tree, so also very green. This is a pretty incredible accomplishment and very unique after looking for many orange blossom scents. It’s loud and unapologetic and thus may be too much for some, but if you love the smell of blooming orange blossoms this is so true to nature- addicting!

love at first smell...she's creamy and fresh at the same time, light and inoffensive and perfect for all seasons. i usually stay away from citrus notes because they remind me a lot of cleaning products, but something about this one drew me in right away. all of my friends liked it when we smelt it at the le labo store in chicago and i had to get myself a bottle. i feel like this would be even better if i layered it with a tea scent!

The opening is gorgeous and it does remind me of when I used to smell orange trees in bloom when I lived in Arizona. However, it goes a bit powdery in the dry down, which I really don't mind. What I do mind is the very short longevity of this fragrance. Two hours after I put it on it becomes a very soft skin scent. I love it, but I'd have to re-apply a couple of times during the day.

i never have fragrance with orange scent before, so i'm curious to try this, and i found the review is quite good. bought the vial and love it so much. it's smells so fresh and orange-y in a classy kind of way. eventhough the orange scent is quite distinct, it doesn't bother me at all, and doesn't feel too much in my nose. the longevity is also amazing, it stays on my cloth all day.

GORGEOUS orange blossom scent!! To my nose this is one of the most realistic orange blossom scents and I am truly an orange blossom fanatic. I find this has a youthful unisex natural sweetness without being over indolic or bitter. Some fragrances come close but imho, Le Labo's Fleur d'Oranger is truly a one of kind masterpiece by the fabulous Francoise Caron.🤍🧡

I don’t know what it is about this scent. Maybe just the familiar Le Labo DNA. But smelling this brought me a peace I have never known. I am in love and need to purchase immediately. A soft floral citrus that’s honestly pretty non-descript but it just does it for me. Very faint on skin, but lasts all day. Cozy enough to wear into the fall.

My favorite summer floral at the moment. Opens very lemony and green, but fades into a delicious, mouth-watering orange blossom. I wish it lasted longer. If it wasn't so expensive, I'd wear this perfume to sleep. Smells like walking through a greenhouse orangery right before everything fully blooms in the spring.

Opens with a burst of fresh orange blossom & citrus. The composition is a tart citrusy, floral sweet tart with a little musk singing in the background. I absolutely love it. Longevity & projection, as with all my Le Labo frags, is incredible on my skin & even longer on my clothing. Get your nose on this one!

Soft, clean white florals brightened with a pinch of citruses to give it a slight pop. Fresh orange blossom and perhaps some tuberose or heliotrope added in, as there's a sort of almondy creaminess to the scent profile. Doesn't go soapy on me at all. Moderate projection fades over 2-3hr, longevity 12hr+.

Realistic Orange bloom, but has poor longevity 😭 I love this scent, but don’t think it is worth the money because it is a close to skin perfume. If you are neroli and orange blossom lover this one is worth trying. Maybe it will perform better on your skin. Find it similar to Jo Malone Orange Blossom.

I’m wearing a sample today, headed to full bottle status as soon as I can get back to the store. Such an intoxicating floral but so well crafted with the lemon and petitgrain that it’s not a blown out in your face floral, just a well-crafted scent that you really have to admire as well as enjoy.

so beautiful. im not typically drawn towards florals, but this one had me absolutely in love. on paper the orange is much more prominent. my skin causes it to blossom into this smooth, gentle, stunning floral. the prettiest girl you know smells like this. i might go for a full bottle of this.

Absolute perfection. Orange blossom fills the room with first spray and then hints of bergamot and lemon follow through. Delicate, creamy and heavenly. Le Labo have really hit the nail on the head with this one. Not fond of the price but eh, that's just how it is with Le Labo.

My Orange and lemon trees are just blossoming. I love this perfume,it smells just like one of the trees. Delicate orange bloson,a litle sweet. So soothing and beautiful. I wish it lasted longer on me. The siliage is also low. But it is worth it. Strate to my want list.

The opening it's a pure orange blossom joy! Smells bright, sweet, positive, sparkling, green, confident like New York City on a Spring sunny day. Very few notes but very well blended, balanced and I assume top quality. Price is ridiculously expensive for this.

i tried this on at the store and it smells exactly like orange blossom water! it makes me feel like a yummy fruit salad or baklava. it’d be very pretty for everyday wear, and it especially reminds me of springtime. i just wish it wasn’t so expensive :(

Utterly beautiful! It would absolutely be my signature scent, if it had any longevity of silage. However, sadly, it doesn't. I have no interest in spending too much money on a perfume which I'll have to reapply on a nearly hourly basis.

Beautiful, creamy, smooth, ethereal floral orange. Very nice and wearable. Not crisp and refreshing like some other citrus freshies, but a very relaxing subdued citrus, like at a spa. Scent: 8 Sillage: 7 Longevity: 7

I love this one. Perfect for work/ casual. Sample first do not blind buy. This reminds me of when I lived in Tampa, FL. I lived next to orange groves and this smells close to that.

Smells like white florals and orange blossom. Opening is more citrus. Then dries down into the floral notes. Very good clean girl scent.

A true orange blossom. Great execution.

First spray is really bright, managing to be a lovely citrus without straying into bathroom cleaner area. The floral comes to the front quite quickly though, so if you're looking for an orange forward scent then this isn't it after the first 5 minutes. The scent that lingers is lovely though. It's sweet in a very natural way, with no cloying sharpness and it doesn't weigh heavily on the scent at all. The citrus takes more a backseat to the florals on me but is definitely there keeping it fresh and uplifted. The greenery and orange gives this enough depth and grounding that the florals aren't overpowering, just lovely and natural. The floral doesn't smell of jasmine to me, but has the same kind of velvet soft sweetness. Some people are mentioning soap and powder, and I get that! Personally the citrus leafy notes hold it back from being powdery pretty well, but I can see how on different skin those might show up more prominently. (EDIT: it went a little powdery on me after a while!) My only hesitation is that the scent sticks quite close to the skin, I really have to get close to my wrist to smell it. I'd say it lasted 6-ish hours, nose-to-wrist. Personally I'd rather if it was a little stronger for the price, because I don't really want to be reapplying this or spraying extra when it's just so expensive! Overall it's just really nicely balanced. It's really delicious, truly the feeling of when you get a bouquet of flowers and you just want to stick your nose in it. It really is a little bit the scent equivalent of a welcome cool breeze on a warm day, if you were also sitting under an orange tree in bloom..! I think if you like orange blossom/ neroli/ jasmine/ night-scented stock type scents, this would be a pretty safe bet, but if you're wary of powdery scents then definitely sample it on your skin, just in case. It's light and summery and inoffensive, but what I really love about it is how natural it smells. I usually dislike florals as they make me feel a bit sick, but this is great. I really like this perfume, but I do think it's overpriced..!

This is yet another paint-by-numbers rendition of orange blossom, so I can't say much on that front--you can find this at a lower price point for sure. But to give credit where credit is due, this has OUTSTANDING longevity. It blows every other stripped back/simplistic orange blossom fragrance I've tried out the water. I get anywhere from 8 to 12 hours off this (depending on how much time I spend outdoors and/or if I'm wearing long sleeves), all the others max out at 3 hours. There's some orange blossom-dominant perfumes out there with decent longevity but only by adding additional notes: 001 by Bon Parfumeur for example is a great Neroli Portofino dupe that lasts about 5 hours, but in the realm of near-solinote orange blossom fragrances this is the best on the market and it's not even a competition. If it's too impractical for you carry perfume around to reapply and want an orange blossom fragrance that will last the day, this is absolutely worth the investment.
