Jasmin 17

You want to attract a strong gentleman with sad eyes and a delicate constitution. You want the accomplished, academically-minded woman in your life to wonder why she can't stop thinking about you after you leave the room. Regardless of who you are or who the object of your affection is, this perfume will have them losing their mind. I know I lost mine. Imagine it: You're a flower-selling peasant who's caught the eye of the recently widowed monarch. You're the creature's would-be prey, rescued at the last moment by the (also recently widowed) monster hunter. You're sweet and innocent and naive, and the ancient unknowable being who lives in the dark depths of the forest suddenly feels alive again when it's with you. Le Labo wasn't kidding when they said this will wreak havoc. This perfume will ruin lives. My only gripe is with the price-to-lasting-power ratio. No way I could justify spending this much in my current financial situation without afterpay. It feels like it's cheating to take points off for this at this point, but no matter how long I've been in this hobby, the absolute audacity of some perfume houses to charge prices like these continues to astound me. Maybe it's kind of a wild idea, but I think everyone should be able to access fragrances that aren't, like, B&BW and Aeropostale.

Jasmin 17 takes me back to sitting in the garden with clouds of jasmine and mock orange blooming all at once, it's really lovely. It's almost over the top sweet, it has that realistic thick/honeyed white floral quality that can feel cloying, but in this fragrance it's balanced perfectly with a sparkly sweet orange/lemongrass kind of citrus. Everything in this scent is sweet, the citrus is sweet, the vanilla is sweet, the flowers are sweet, but somehow it all works perfectly with just enough structure. It also smells like fresh lemon leaves in the top notes, that is the fruit loops smell people are mentioning. Nothing synthetic about it though, go smell a lemon tree sometime! It only smells botanical to me and photorealistic in the best way, no weird sugary fakeness, just citrus and flowers. Simple and straightforward and dreamy, like a summer afternoon in a bottle. I really love this fragrance! It's probably a specific kind of style and wouldn't work for everyone if you're looking for elegant or complex, but it is artistic, this is one of very few niche that actually justify the price for me personally. It's pleasant and wearable too, I can't imagine anyone being offended by it.

Wearing this right now. Picked up a sample at Nordy. I'm 6 feet tall, beard, brown hair, moderately masculine guy and I love this! The description on LL's website talks about amplifying femininity, but to me, this is firmly in unisex territory. This smells EXACTLY like the pot of jasmine green tea you get at Chinese restaurants. I've tried other jasmine scents (e.g., Gendarme) and found it to be too distracting, but the jasmine in this is ramped way down, which I think is what makes it so successful. If it weren't so damned expensive I'd scoop at least a 1.7 oz right away. I think the biggest competition in my mind is Atelier's Oolang Infini. Not that they're super similar, but they are both extremely pleasing tea scents that really give me that, "this is exactly what I want to smell like" feeling. Oolang is way cheaper though, so that might tip the scales. Not sure where all the comparisons to orange cleaner are coming from. I get a perfectly equitable jasmine/neroli mix on top of a bitter green tea accord with a slightly sweet (vaillic to some people, more brown sugar to me) backstop. This is a definite winner in my book.

[SEPT. 2021] Lovely. Having worked making bubble tea, this is the accessible tea scent I'm looking for. The expensive, home-produced import jasmine tea used for the boba. Osmanthus Yunnan has more personal flair and is very cute, perfect for Osmanthus, but Jasmin 17 has more depth and smells like the country stuff. I decided to not get Do Son again and save for Jasmin 17 instead, merely for nostalgic and tea-appreciating purposes. Real typical jasmine smell with nice wood-red-brown tea brew steam impressions to expect from brewing in hot water in the pot for 7 minutes then add ice to the pot and cool for 4 more minutes. (Just don't expect a mix of other teas, I just personally love this because poured hot Jasmine tea is one of my fav scents. Jasmine 17 is a bit more tonally lukewarm. Only mildly hot... as base prepared for bubble tea should, lest ingredients melt and you scald your hands from the pot's tap.) PS: They sell orangeflower water in the import section of James St... and this is not as shrill, happy, citrus, and cute smelling as orangeflower. Or anything like a Piguet, which makes darn realistic orangeflowers.

The first time I sniffed this perfume was a mix of surprise and astonishment. I just thought ¿..? Rational as I am, I was speccing a light jasmine, but after the surprise abandoned me, I let my nose guide me, and is just pure emotion. The opening is soft, a creamy, light and extremely elegant citrus welcoming you. Not the sharp smell of freshly cut fruit, but the aura left behind when you cut down the fruit from the trees. Neroli, litsea cubea and orange taking you in a trip of joyfulness and happiness. As is meant to be, the opening is just the beginning of the trip, and is not about the trip, but all about the destination. The most ethereal skin-like aromas will start to dance, calling your name asking you to sniff over, and over again. The heavy, hard to handle aspects of the jasmine had been removed, restructuring the formula to a new level of floweriness. A warm vanilla in the background will make this perfume very comforting, and yet not sweet. Just the right amount of everything.

Whipped cream infused with Moroccan orange blossoms, garnished with jasmin flowers, presented on a wood plate in a spring garden, the grass is still dewy. Taking a cool shower after swimming in the sea, putting on crisp white cotton camisoles that flutter when you walk. One of my favorite scents. Jasmin 17 perfectly captures creamy floral and maintains a clean sweetness that is fresh, but not sharp on me. I will say skin chemistry matters a lot here, as my friends who have tried this perfume note that they just got sharp green citrus from their first spray, only for it to fade to its creamy base but with hardly a trail left to recognize it without re-applying. For me I immediately get the creaminess upon spraying, and it lasts up to 7 hours. Silage is intimate, but it leaves a soft trail. A modern and delicate floral. Definitely more orange blossom—but this is not meant to be a straightforward, photo-realistic scent, as is Le Labo's wont.

Jasmine is not a note that plays nicely on my skin — it often becomes screechy or even smells like pee, and same with neroli. That doesn’t happen here. Instead, what I get is a refreshing garden jasmine, still hot from the summer sun as dusk rolls in. It’s quite gorgeous. This blossoms in heat, never becoming cloying, just unfolding into more of itself. The jasmine is so delicately balanced against a warm vanilla and sandalwood on my skin — the dry down is addictive. I’ve never smelled a jasmine and vanilla combo like this on my skin, it just smells like luxury and a place and time far away that you’re lucky to capture. I’ve long had my favorite rose, my favorite iris, my favorite tuberose, my favorite flower bouquet. But I had yet to find “my” jasmine. Well, I think the search is settled here — the vanilla, sandalwood, and jasmine create this beautiful air around me that feels seductive yet fresh, summery and resplendent.

I personally love how much orange blossom is in this one paired with the jasmine. The initial spray is very orange heavy and reminds me of street sweets I had in Morocco that were soaked in orange blossom. The jasmine starts to peek through after the initial stage and turns it into a pleasant milky floral scent. It kind of reminds me of jasmine milk tea once the vanilla appears. The drydown is very pleasant and sweet though no particularly woody or musky. Very easy to wear, and for me I like having some more intimate perfumes to rotate with my stronger perfumes. Something about it feels nostalgic and fresh at the same time. Considering this one as my wedding perfume for its gentle sweetness (and since my father in law is sensitive to stronger perfumes) Update: The more I wear it the more I fall in love with it. It has the perfect amount of sweetness and florals for me. Definitely a new signature scent

The classiest possible version of Froot Loops and dryer sheets. Like a late morning breakfast of colorful, sugary cereal in a flower-draped gazebo on a warm spring day. It's a warm, comfortable scent - sweet orangey florals rendered in cream, musk, and powder. It's peaceful but a little bit playful, too. This kind of light, creamy, borderline-gourmand floral fragrance is probably my favorite type of floral scent. Another reviewer has already pointed out the similarities this has with Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino, and I agree, they do have real similarities, while giving quite different impressions overall. NP pulls quite crisp and aquatic, whereas Jasmin 17 is warmer, sweeter, and much creamier. If the base of NP is sea water and lime, the base of Jasmin 17 is nectar and cream. I prefer Jasmin 17, myself, even though it lacks that Mediterranean zest that makes NP so deliciously evocative of summer.

I wish I had an expertly honed nose to put labels on the notes I smell in Jasmin 17. As it is, though, all I know to say is that I find this utterly beautiful. It hints at jasmine tea. It’s fragile and singular, it’s a quiet mezzo soprano with a sparkling springtime smile. It’s breezy sunshine and easy days. A little sweet, but nowhere near a gourmand. A white floral that doesn’t insist upon itself. It doesn’t need to; it’s naturally unassuming and refined without feeling the need to proclaim it. I know. I’ve said nothing tangible about how it actually smells. Well, to me it smells like jasmine. Plain and simple. There’s a note of tea somewhere, and a gentle sweetness. If Alien and Libre are grounded and deep and warm, Jasmin 17 is floating in the stratosphere without a care in the world. It absolutely IS too expensive. But it didn’t stop me from a big bottle.

This one is a very natural jasmine and sweetened orange blossom scent that lasts much longer than your typical "natural" orange blossom fragrance for sure. It's softer and not so sharp, thanks to the vanilla. I really don't get the fruit loops association I can read below. Why do people smell fruit loops... I don't, not at all. This one dries down to some sort of musky slightly sweeter (vanilla) base but the natural jasmine, orange blossom is still present. It cheers me up. I truly don't understand how you could dislike this fragrance... I'm sure the hate comes from the brand pricing point mostly. Another great one from Maurice Roucel. And wow, the first comment in the "Pros" section makes me think about someone :) Edit : This one has grown on me. I now think this is incredibly beautiful. Probably the best jasmine fragrance out there.

I really like this one, and I'd get a full bottle if only the price wasn't so prohibitive. The floral notes are ethereal and so, so good. It's like you're in the presence of an angel, or at least an angelic good person. That's what I imagine a good and pure-hearted person would smell like anyway, lol. Seems this isn't so highly rated, but I'm a white floral jasmine girlie... so I might be biased. EDIT: I just finished the sample and I love this so much! It is so fresh, floral in a not overwhelming way, and powdery but again not overwhelming. It's so perfect for summer and the day time. I don't even care if people can't smell it whilst I'm wearing it. It's enough that I can smell it. I find it very comforting and reminds me of my childhood? I think maybe one of my aunts used a similar perfume in the past. It doesn't last unfortunately.

It's beautiful! And SO similar to Diptyque's L'eau de Néroli. I have a tester now, and even the drydown is similar (thanks to the musk) — I can't comment on longevity just yet but will report back. As of now, my nose is happy and making heart eyes. I'm surprised it's named for jasmine instead of neroli/orange blossom. But if you like any of those flowers/notes, this is an absolutely delightful, straightforward, fresh white floral with some soft (not overpowering!) musk, sandalwood, amber, and vanilla (IMO, those notes make this blend decidedly *not* boring). Orange blossom and neroli are SO prominent in the cleanest, prettiest way. This could absolutely be a staple fleur d'oranger fragrance in your collection; if I didn't already have/love the Diptyque version, I'd likely be buying a full bottle of this one.

My absolute favorite perfume. I bought the 50ml bottle with the intention of getting it refilled. The 50ml bottle lasted me 5 months because I was spraying it on almost every day, multiple times a day. Although the name suggests jasmine as the main scent, to me it smelled more like the Filipino citrus fruit, dalandan (a cross between pomelo and mandarin, more zesty than sweet or sour), which was delightful and refreshing. I like how the scent was bright and familiar but still a bit unique over the usual citrus scents of lemon or orange. I wish it were more long lasting but I didn't mind spraying it multiple times a day because it felt like a little pick me up. Overall, I would recommend to anyone looking for a zesty and balanced citrus scent and not for anyone looking for jasmine.

I had honeysuckle and Carolina jesamin growing by a bench in my backyard for years. When they were blooming, I would sit on the bench surrounded by the sweet floral scent as often as I could. I was obsessed. I searched for years to find a scent that compared and finally found it in Jasmin 17. It smells nearly the exact same to my nose! This is springtime in the US south in a bottle. So maybe not exactly jasmine—but sweet smelling vine flowers for sure lol. I am surprised by the negative reviews on this one. To my nose this is a beautiful, bright floral that would be a safe blind buy. For me, it is unlike jasmine heavy perfumes, so if that’s what you want/expect you may be disappointed. Putting aside pricing, there’s nothing to hate here and certainly a lot to love :)

I usually don't gravitate to jasmine as a note, however I love this fragrance. That's probably because there is, contrary to what the name of the perfume implies, very little jasmine. It is there, but it plays second fiddle to orange blossom. It is balmy and beautiful, but not a huge game changer in the floral category of fragrances. Performance is subpar - i spray 6 sprays and it projects maybe 2 hours with the sillage next to nil. It reminds me of Elie Saab perfume intense and Christian Dior's Grand Bal, both of which perform considerably better. I appreciate all of the le Labo fragrances and this one is one of the more wearable scents in the line. Glad I bought a bottle.

I like this soooo much!!! At the first spray, I can smell jasmine and only jasmine, and a bit orange which are two of my favorite fragrance. On a dry down, it's musky and powdery To be honest, I don't really like the dry down, I much prefer if it's jasmine all the way, but still a beautiful fragrance On my skin, it depends on the weather. When its hot, it tends to dry down very quickly and it gets very powdery. But when it's raining, I can smell jasmine much stronger and it tends to dry down a bit aromatic BUT it doesn't last long on my skin, just 2-2.5 hours max, so it doesn't really measure up to the price sadly

This is a sweet, musky, jasmine/orange blossom perfume that I’m in love with! It doesn’t project much, but I’m ok with that as it does last several hours. Smells like candied jasmine with a little vanilla in the base, yet it’s not gourmand. What you get at first sniff, that's all you get. No significant development, but it's beautiful. Smells clean and very natural. Nice option for summer when orange blossoms and jasmine are in full bloom. Edit: Reminds me of Chantecaille’s Frangipane because of the white flower/orange/vanilla combo. If you like perfumes like this, you should try Frangipane too!

Such a beautiful, addictive, intoxicating, unforgettable fragrance. I remember trying this at Le Labo years ago, and no matter how hard I searched nothing came close to it. I finally picked up a bottle recently, it smells like jasmine tea, Froot Loops, and almost like an orange creamsicle all at once. There is a sense of nostalgia to this scent that is like no other. Born and raised in the Bay Area, this reminds me of getting jasmine green tea boba with my friends at the mall after school. Such a magical, hidden gem from Le Labo.

Jasmin 17 has blown me away. The jasmin is initially strong and powerful but blends into the most gorgeous subtle fragrance that literally last all day. I don't pick up too much of the neroli but I do love the jasmin veiled over sandalwood and musk in the basenotes. When I smelled the perfume in the sample bottle I thought I would need to layer it over some musk to remove the jasmin sharpness, but I'm so glad I didn't, it's perfect by itself. This is the first really 'floral' perfume that I will invest in.

This is the sweetest jasmine scent I've ever smelled that doesn't veer into beachy territory the way Alien does, but instead stays sugary and almost crystallized. As someone who can find white florals challenging to appreciate (though boy do I try), I really love this mix of sweet, citrusy orange blossom and jasmine. It reminds me of jasmine tea boba actually and I think I could love this in the spring/summer! The longevity and the sillage are moderate. It's a feminine scent to my nose.

So yummy.... Neroli, jasmine, and orange rind are the most prominent notes. All of these come together to smell like a VERY FANCY bowl of fruit loops. No milk though :) I think this is a great blind buy fragrance. These florals don't give me a head ache (I'm sensitive to white florals) and it generally smells clean and sweet. You could also describe this scent as beachy.

This perfume is my signature scent. It reacts to my skin really well and turns into a heady, tropical flower, citrus and lemongrass wonder that smells both sharp and deep at the same time. It lasts for ages - I still smell it on me when I get into bed after wearing it all day and it lingers on my clothes. For me, it's a real summer evening scent. Just glorious.

The interaction of orange blossom and neroli with the musk, vanilla, and sandalwood makes this scent kind of creamy in contrast to a lot of other white florals, which I really like. Generally, white florals and particularly orange blossom are very headache-inducing for me, but Jasmin 17 is a wonderful and calming fragrance. Very pleasant and tea-like.

Like the flower, enters with a fresh, “alive-plant” scent, transforms into a clean jasmine, and at ~6 hours fades into a sweet, rosey floral. Consistently smells of jasmine throughout the wear. Held up through a shower. On tester paper, it smells intense and chemical, but it smells clean and subtle on my skin. I’m obsessed with this scent.

* Another jasmine named scent where jasmine isn't dominant. This is a GORGEOUS scent. Very natural but pretty ORANGE BLOSSOM and Neroli fragrance with just a hint of jasmine behind. It is sweet but in a good way. 💕 Beautiful in spring or summer heat. Lasts really long on me - 8 hrs +, but sits close.

This is beautiful. The floral notes are not overpowering or too mature. There is a really pleasant creaminess when it settles, but I wouldn't say it's sweet. One of my favorites from Le Labo so far and I can't stop smelling my wrist, love love love!

A beautiful creamy, jasmine, orange blossom scent. It reminds me of a fragrant milk tea with a drop of vanilla. I wouldn't describe this as a true jasmine fragrance, but it's still gorgeous. I wish it lasted longer. I would drink this if I could.

New favorite Jasmine fragrance. This smells like freshly brewed Jasmine green tea with slice of lemon. 🍋 I’m having hard times with Le Labo but did finally find a few I enjoy and this one is definitely one of them.

This opens up as an innocuous light floral and citrus, but develops into an elegant and deep Jasmin on me, with aneessed undertones and a faint smokiness/earthiness. Very beautiful perfume. Subtle and unique.

On me this is the most elegant, expensive smelling, light, airy jasmine imaginable. Intoxicating. I sense jasmin, aldehydes and after quite a while a soft wood/vanilla base. Makes me feel like a true lady.

My love for this fragrance knows no bounds. It’s stunning. A little sweet, candied jasmine on a base of beautiful sandalwood and vanilla. Really well blended. This will be my next full bottle from Le Labo.

This is truly such a shame. Absolutely STUNNING, 10/10 opening but dries down (almost immediately) to a basic, synthetic, boring vanilla. Estée Lauder clearly weakened all of Le Labo’s formulas.

This fragrance is a hidden treasure. Shy and discreet, but leave a long-lasting mark. This fragrance is pure joy, every time I wear it, it makes me smile as soon as I have the first sniff.

Jasmine tea, orange blossom, bread, vanilla. Love it on my skin. Tea scent is stronger in the air and on my clothes, which some may like, but I prefer the sweetness directly on skin.

Love at first sniff! Delicious sweet jasmine, orange blossom and citrus. I find it bright, happy, elegant and youthful, although my friend says it smells like “old Turkish ladies”.

Photorealistic Jasmine and orange blossom florals rounded with some sweetness and creaminess. Stunning and good longevity. Hope to purchase a full bottle soon.

I fell in love with this fragrance at first sniff. Quiet, natural, simple. Indeed, it doesn't last very long, but I love the sweetness after it dries down.

It's an interesting scent for me. The smell of jasmine is deep inside. On me it's kinda like "Yakult" plus green tea. Refreshing, gentle, and adorable.

The white flowers in the opening is AAAMAZING, but fades away rather quickly into a soft vanillic woody musk with a touch of orange.

Boring. Doesn't smell like Jasmine. Nice clean smell, but lasts about and hour if that. Bleh. Disappointed.

A very underrated white floral fragrance. It’s easily one of my favorite fragrances from Le Labo!

It makes me think 1990s, but I have no idea why.

I find Le Labo perfumes fall into three categories - love them (Ylang 49), can’t stand/wear them (Santal 33, Rose 31) and love them but they fade so quickly on my skin (Neroli 39, Lys 41). What a delightful surprise this jasmine is. I’ve tried it on the blotter a few times and always felt it was too strong and heady, and in the ‘can’t wear’ category. One morning recently I’d just come from an appointment and had 10 minutes free so popped into a shop and tried it again on a blotter. This time was different - it was warmer and quite beautiful. Was it because of the time of day or my mood? I asked for a sample and took it home for trying on my skin. Well! I have been loving it. Maybe I should ditch the categories. It is a perfume that is so much more beautiful on the skin. It lasts a good 5 hours and is lovely through every stage. It starts with juicy, ever-so-slightly citrus-y tea and jasmine notes which are uplifting and floral. The florals continue and are the main star of the middle and join a lovely warm musk in the base, carrying on from the two hour mark for some time in a floral musk skin scent that has enough sillage to waft prettily as you move. A lovely perfume - not hard to understand, easy to wear, and although it’s not edgy or unique, great company.

I'm gonna be honest here: I'm very underwhelmed by Jasmin 17. This not a fragrance for true jasmine lovers. The name is very misleading as I detect the orange blossom to be the main note. Not sure about which species of jasmine they use here but this is not jasmin sambac and definitely doesn't have that "oomph" lushness very typical of jasmine flower. What's lacking here is not just indoles but also that sweet heady smell of blooming jasmine which you can find in a lot of designer scents, for example Estee Lauder Modern Muse. The opening is a sharp citrus flower scent, very pungent with a strong bigarde characteristic, akin to JHAG Gentlwoman. As time goes by more musk emerges. The palmarosa is detectable throughout the dry down, but regardless this is a pretty linear scent. Base notes negligible. Projection is quite nice (~ 2 feet with one tiny spray on hand) and longevity is about 7 hours. It's definitely a clean scent since they take away the indoles, and "fresh" per se as how citruses smell fresh. A very nicely done citrus floral scent, but don't bother to try it if you're looking for true jasmine like in Serge Lutens A La Nuit or Diptyque Olene. You won't find it here.

Jasmin 17 is a bright citrus-white floral scent, initially clean and breezy but with a lot of sweetness in the base. It smells quite natural and high-quality, and is pretty well-blended throughout. J17 opens with a light orange note, juicy and fresh, that segues to a neroli-orange blossom accord. Smooth, clean jasmine follows, just the right amount of sweet. There is a greenness to the white florals here, keeping things fresh rather than heady. It is almost vegetal. J17 becomes surprisingly lemony as it develops further, but this complements the white florals nicely in an unusual way. Vanilla adds sweetness at the drydown stage, but I find it weighs J17 down somewhat - I would have preferred a simple scent that focuses on the natural sweetness from the florals à la Gucci Bloom. It fades to a musky vanilla skin scent, sweet and lingering. Sillage and longevity are moderate. J17 is a pleasant, slightly unusual white floral that is let down slightly for me by the vanilla in the base. Still, a pretty, feminine white floral that would work well as a spring/summer daytime scent. 3/5.

Jasmin 17 is a pleasant and pretty fragrance, but it feels a bit thin and isn't delivering that sweet and divine headiness I associate with jasmine. I can smell the jasmine in this, but it is a bit buried among the other notes. As others have said, the orange blossom and the orange eclipses the jasmine much too much, making me think this should of been Le Labo's orange blossom scent instead. It is also a bit too citrusy and green for my tastes. Longevity and sillage is very mediocre as well, with not much of a trail. It feels more like a spa type scent than an actual perfume, so it is definitely been sold for much more than it is worth. I wouldn't call it a jasmine soliflore like the name would suggest, either. If you want a good and naturalistic jasmine, Chloé's Jasminum Sambac, Santa Maria Novella's Gelsominio before they sadly reformulated it and Guerlain's Jasmin Extrait are much, much better. My rating for this fragrance? A respectable 7.5/10. I'd wear it if I was bought it as a gift, but I wouldn't go out to buy this fragrance myself.

Ah Le Labo the anorexic house. Everything is office friendly. Everything except for an outlier like Ylang is skinny and chemical. And I'm wearing a probably vintage batch. It's genderless not through some Valkyrie/dead Viking thing, but because they ran out of perfume. I'm trying to remember their latest tea themed scent which I really liked and that one came after the E L takeover. I'm a grandma and this style of perfume has passed me by. I think I'm in a perfume Hades atm, the old vintage stuff is yuk and stuff like this makes me sad. And this is one of the better minimal florals from the brand. I'm blaming IFRA. I'll give my version a big plus because it is at least quite persistent and remarkably treads an incredible genderless line when these unisex fumes mostly fall over into masculine for me. However if you want to be blown away by jasmine go for Lutens and Amouage, and even Montale...
