Macaron Rosé

Following @blackcat02 's example and leaving a review for Rose Chocolat here since Fragrantica doesn't have it in the database yet. If you like "sweet gourmand", powdery, creamy, "lactonic baby wipe" scents, you'll love Rose Chocolat! It's like kissing the top of a baby's head, wearing a fluffy pink sweater, cuddling a kitten. Purity, sweetness, creamy and clean. To my nose, the break down is: - "watery/ozonic" (35%) - powdery "baby wipe" (15%) - creamy/lactonic (15%) - Dove soap (15%) - white chocolate (10%) - sweet musk (10%) The liquid is a beautiful semi-opaque blush pink too. It also lasts a LONG time - throughout the day and even overnight! This is one of my top 5 favorite "clean/soapy" scents - hoping they add it to the database soon so I can add it to my "scent wardrobe". P.S. For more sweet gourmand + soapy + "lactonic baby wipe", check out BBW's Golden Honey Praline mist (lasts as long as a perfume IMO!)

For me this perfume reads pretty much just straight rose, which is exactly why I love it. Too often, for me, rose fragrances are layered with other florals, or ouds, or musks that hide enough of the rose in the perfume that they no longer read rose to me. Or they become too powdery and iris-y that they travel into baby powder realms. This just smells like anointing yourself in rose water, with maybe the hint of sweet to give just the edge of turkish delight. I mostly use my roller ball for a nice bedtime scent, because its gentle and not overpowering, yet luscious enough that it feels like a treat.

I don't understand all the hate this is getting. Is it because it's cheap? It's actually pretty nice, IMO. I see it as a good attempt at striking the balance between lychee and rose so that it's neither too lychee-sweet nor too rose-serious. There's a nice green element that keeps it from getting too boring or too feminine. Pretty crowd pleasing and refreshing. Great for after the shower. Longevity is good but projection is weak, which I don't mind.

This is linear but so lovely. The only other rose scent I can tolerate is Le Labo's Rose 31, which is a more dirty / earthy rendition of rose. If you're looking for a fresh, crisp, just-washed rose scent that avoids the potpourri / grandmotherly pitfalls of typical rose fragrances, then this one is for you. I'm 36 and I rock this one on summer days.

like the first bite in to a turkish delight you get from the euro mart. cloyingly sweet, noseburning soap art first, and then it devolves into a mellow sugary rose. longevity in skin is meh, but lasts forever on hair and clothes. wore it religiously during a mental breakdown so it's kinda nostalgic to me now.

Lovely rose water and turkish delight. Reminds me of rose scented things from the 90s, like Avon rose bubble bath. Almost a cold/icy/chilly vibe, not a warm or sweet rose at all

super clean, sweet rose, if you like the Dr.Teals elderberry bath salts and want that scent to stay with you, this is great for that.

Very rosy and sweet! Reasonable and budget friendly price tag.

Rose flavored Turkish delight!

I recently tried Macaron Rosé from Le Monde Gourmand, and it was a delightful experience. The first thing that struck me about this fragrance is its refreshing floral notes, especially the prominent scent of rose water. One of the things I appreciate about Macaron Rosé is its subtlety. I didn’t detect any overwhelming sugariness or excessive sweetness. Instead, the perfume maintains a perfect balance, allowing the natural floral essence to shine through without being overshadowed by artificial sweetness. The sillage is moderate, leaving a delicate trail that is both captivating and sophisticated. I tried this one on to see how I might like this brand. The first few minutes after one spritz were some rough rapids, a bit harsh. But give it 5-15 minutes and it settles down in to a nice rose scent that lasts for a couple of hours (which I think is fine for the price). If I didn't already have more fragrances right now than I've ever had in decades to play in, I might add it on. As it is, I already have florals (and most other things) pretty well covered in a brand I am very very happy with. But if you are searching for a budget friendly rose, I didn't find this one terrible, obnoxious (after the first 5 minutes) or headachy which I often do with inexpensive fragrances. Obnoxious and headachy don't always coincide though they can. It didn't here.

I really enjoy this one. I got this in a Le Monde Gourmand sampler set, and I received 7 different scents. I love rose and sugar, so this was right up my alley. This is very much a sugary rosewater scent as opposed to a strong, uberfloral rose. It's very light and clean. The longevity was average on me. It started fading after about 5 hours or so, and the sillage is easily buildable depending on your tastes. (Though don't expect to ever have a loud entrance or exit, it is NOT that kind of fragrance.) This would be wonderful for a spring or summer visit to a garden.

Obnoxiously soapy and harsh at first, but give it 10 minutes; it turns into an amazing clean, fresh rosewater scent with surprisingly good projection and longevity from this brand. You’re basically being assaulted with a bouquet of pink roses. GREAT rose cheapie! My con is that “macaron” implies gourmand, and this is not that. I’m not even getting “sweet” out of this. Just boisterous rose. But I’m actually okay with that, just think the name is very misleading.

just picked up the rose riche body mist at tj maxx which people on reddit are saying is the same scent. i like it quite a bit! relatively long lasting for a body mist. starts off pretty tart and dries into a fresh rose water scent. i was looking for a rose perfume to replace one i ran out of, and this was a solid, wallet-friendly choice pretty simple but that’s what i was looking for!🌹

The “Macaron” part of this fragrance is entirely lost on me. It’s gorgeous, don’t get me wrong, but there’s no gourmand or fluffy elements to this. It’s a linear rose fragrance. Clean, fresh, even soapy at times. It’s got some beautiful green notes to it, even though they’re not listed. If you’re a rose lover this one is a safe buy but don’t expect any sweet desert-like elements here.

Honestly, I enjoy this scent. I like to spray it on my clothes before bed and still smell it on them in the morning. Not much range to it, it is mostly sweet rose water as another reviewer said but I like it. Kinda powdery fresh which keeps bringing me back to it.

It smells exactly like sweet rosewater. I bought this at T.J Maxx for 5 dollars, if you're looking for a nice light rose scent this is great, but do not buy it unless it's considerably marked down. For 50 dollars you can get much nicer, more complex rose perfume.

A sweet rose-water like fragrance, simple and great to wear as an everyday gourmande. Not sure what I was expecting but it doesn't smell like macarons. An addition of almond in this case could've been nice, but not sure what I was expecting for the price point.

Smells like rose water desserts or candy. I associate this with Turkish delight candies. I like those and I like rose water toners etc. So I find this a calming nice scent that’s not too noticeable.

Upon spraying, this smells exactly like Mr. Bubble bubble bath! It dries down into a true rose water fragrance. The sweetness lingers, but doesn't cloy. It is a simple, fresh and clean rose.

reminds me of cecilia from "the virgin suicides". crowded girl room, overflowing with stockings and tchotchkes and ribbons, candy boxes and dried roses. sweet and ephemeral.

My go-to rose scent. Only reason it's not higher rated for me is because its kind of just rose, but thats why I like it! I just wish it had a better longevity.

Echoing the other reviews. This is a clean, fresh, rosewater scent. Nothing sweet or gourmand about it.

Very simple rose water scent, a bit cucumber-y fresh rather than the usual sweet rose.

I have a travel size of this as part of a travel size set I got from tj maxx with other LMG scents. Rose is hit or miss for me. Sometimes I really love it but other times (like in this case) it almost is pickle-y to me. mix:bar glass rose has the same cucumber pickle like quality but I prefer this fragrance over that one. It doesn’t smell bad though? It’s very fresh, smelling more like a rose water scented perfume than a true rose perfume. This works well to layer with vanilla and doesn’t last too long or induce headaches for me. I like it alone or with a vanilla body mist after a shower before bed. I would not purchase a full size of this, but I will use up my travel.

VERY sweet rose and sugar scent. Does not smell like macaroons. Smells like rosewater and sugar syrup (simple syrup), heavier on the sugar. Somehow it also smells thin, not syrupy. So more like just sugar. This isn't my favorite from the line. It also does not smell like Roses de Chloe, it's not strong enough on full rose. It's okay, there are better cheap rose scents out there.

I've been looking for a rose fragrance that doesn't smell dated or metallic on me. this is definitely it. I find this rose super soft and not offensive at all. probably my favorite from the le monde gourmand brand that I've tried. such a pretty floral with the perfect amount of sweetness. my main problem is that its not very strong

Nothing special about this one. It just smells like rose water, no sugar or sweetness, just rose water lol. I mean it’s fine, I could probably find something to layer it with but I really don’t know if I’ll be reaching for this too often. Lasts about 2hrs, cheap so you can reapply, overall, it’s fine. Don’t love or hate it

This fragrance is not sweet at all. It has more of the water rose scent profile for sure, I don't pick up on the sugary notes. My expectations were slightly ruined because I thought it would be a candied rose fragrance. Besides that, it's a nice perfume it just does not live up to the name at all.

This fragrance smells so dainty and feminine. Macaron Rose smells like strong rose that’s sweet. I would recommend for young women. Although, I only got the roller size. I feel as if there are better rose perfumes out there! This is a very linear rose fragrances.

It’s a sweet rose in the beginning but the sweetness fades pretty quickly. It then smells like a soapy/fresh rose. Lasts a long time on the skin and can be very headache inducing if you spray just a little too much because of how strong that rose is.

alleged notes: Rose, Turkish Delight and Sugarcane. what i smell: i smell a soapy rose, reminiscent of MM bubble bath scent event / my reaction: bubble bath, shaving cream, the click of new body wash and the sound of it tumbling in the bathtub

Sugar-dusted rose petals. Simple and linear. I don't gravitate towards rose scents, so I gave this one to a friend who enjoys rose. Low sillage, pretty weak performance, but nice and springy for the warm weather.

Just a floral rose scent. I got this in a sample pack from Le Monde Gourmand and I hardly have made a dent. Might give it to a friend who likes rose scents better.

this doesn't smell like macarons or gourmand. rose sometimes smells like candy to me but this is like a sweet watery rose.

smells like a foaming rose soap your aunt would have in her bathroom. nice, but prob wouldn't want to smell like it.

Definitely a watery rose, like others have said. Not particularly sweet or sugar, to me it has the freshness of a cucumber, but not in a good way. Rose fragrances are not my favorite to begin with, but if this perfume matched the description of a sweet and sugary rose-flavored turkish delight, I think I would have really liked it.

The idea of a Rose Water Candy seemed lovely to me, and you can barely find it in this perfume, but just barely in the background. It the forefront, it is sharp, rose scented hair spray or some cleaning product. Very unfortunate.

I think this is a great perfume for those of you who enjoy light and clean scents. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of it but it isn't inherently bad. It can read as more of a cleaning product scent or a potpourri scent.

To me this smells exactly like those terrible British candies, parma violets. I get more of the rose water as it dries down, but it’s just way too sugary sweet (which means a lot coming from me)

to me this is photorealistic rose, if that’s what you want then i would recommend it, but to me it’s kind of overwhelming and i wish it was more blended and soft

At first a lovely rose but with 10 minutes it smells like the nail polish & acetone scent of a nail salon

Not a rose I enjoy. This is very sharp, almost sour or bitter. The sugarcane and Turkish delight candy is missing completely. This is almost pickled rose or rose vinegar. Very unpleasant and an instant headache. There are very few LMG that I HATE but this and oud Sahara have me literally gagging

Smells like grass. Genuinely makes my stomach turn. Thankfully it has minimal sillage and only lasts about 2 hours.

What happened to this? I just purchased it from Marshall's today because I haven't seen it in a while and it doesn't smell the way I remember it. It smells just like Rose Riche. It's all rose! No sugar, no candy, no macaron, no sweetness, just floral. The most linear rose scent with maybe a splash of rose water is all I get, and some greenness. I got it in the body and hair spray version for 15 bucks and even at that low price I personally don't feel it's worth it. It is pretty strong for a body spray though. Update: the more I use it the cheaper it smells and it is so headache inducing! Update(6.26.23): been going through this fast just trying to get rid of it and now that I'm halfway through, I finally smell the tiniest sweetness, but it's kind of bubble gummy, or chewy like a macaron, or marshmellow-y but not all that sweet, even chewy like turkish delight but not as sweet. A watered down sweet, like simple syrup diluted in rose water and added to any of these sweets. update 10.29.2024 finally finished my bottle a couple of days ago. finals thoughts: will not repurchase, don't like it, however the dry down of this fragrance is a lot better (especially on clothing) than the initial spray. it's not long lasting on skin, however, it lasted days when I sprayed it on clothing. but it still sits close to skin. It's a great perfume for indoor or small space because it doesn't radiate far. but the quality is too cheap even at the price point for my taste. I do not recommend it, especially if you have a more experienced pallet that picks up on harsh ingredients and a lack of refinement (i.e. cutting corners). there are better rose scents out there, even at a lower price point.

I purchased Macaron Rose while exploring rose notes in perfume. I was interested in the Lakhoum note. I expected this to be a somewhat gourmand rose, and it DOES come off edible, but I wouldn't call it sweet. It's musky and kind of dry and dusty on me. Sillage is intimate and longevity is less than you'd expect with an eau de parfum (maybe 3 or 4 hours). It's interesting and wearing it was educational. It simply wasn't to my taste.
