Oud Sahara

Yes, the oud craze is well over but why do you even care what is in style and what isn't? Especially when this beauty has been widely available at your local mall for several years now for $15, and has been quietly hiding its androgynous ambery, smoky complexity to all but those in the know? If you are interested in bargain hidden gems and are not regularly checking on new releases in the Gourmand range at Urban Outfitters you are making a huge mistake. The catalogue on Fragrantica is still catching up to the now 20+ series of interesting releases in this minimalist Gourmand range, some pure garbage, some phenomenal. Oud Sahara in particular is a remarkable standout from the usual fast fashion fragrance offerings for women (it seems like every fast fashion store has a large perfume line these days) and offers this dry, smoky, balsamic beauty that has just enough creamy vanilla to win vintage Dior Addict and Dune fans over (though this is drier and earthier than these beauties, but certainly in the same family) Good sillage but only ~2 hours longevity before it turns into a smoky sandalwood skin scent. If you don't mind a mid-day respray you will fall madly in love and never look back

A friend gifted this to me and it actually became my everyday favorite perfume. I had the rollerball and one day I dropped it and it was all over the bathroom floor. I’m still devastated and I can’t find it anywhere. I bought Oud Wood by Tom Ford because it’s the only perfume listed as similar, I loved it but it was too masculine for me. Please let me know if anyone wants to get rid of it I’ll buy it from you, or where I can buy it online!! It’s a lovely unisex but slightly more feminine oud scent, it didn’t last very long but I loved how subtle it was, perfect for everyday use (at home, running errands, appropriate for work, although I wore it around my partner also because it was his favorite too!) Desperately searching For a dupe/similar scent!!!

This is an old favorite of mine. I got my original bottle at Urban Outfitters for maybe $20 back in 2016 and then recently rediscovered it at TJ Maxx and got two bottles for $8 a piece. It's clearly not a niche or 'serious' fragrance but it's very nostalgic for me. The scent itself is very pleasant. I'm not sure if it's actually an oud per say but it is a soft ambery spicy fragrance with a good balance of notes. It's doesn't change much upon dry-down other than maybe leaning into the vanilla warm aspects. If you ever come across this at TJ Maxx or even UO, I definitely recommend grabbing a bottle just to have.

This is my signature summer scent. It's sexy, spicy, ambery and just so different than anything else in my collection. You're either going to love it or hate it. I learn more into spicy sweet scents, but this perfume makes me feel so powerful. Envision you woke up smelling ambery after a beach bonfire, a tinge of a smoke smell still on your clothes. You burn some incense while getting ready, spritz on some vanilla and go to meet your friends for a cocktail by the beach. Doesn't last super long, but drys down nicely on clothes. Best $12 at TJ Maxx I have ever spent. A very mature scent for a low price.

Middle Eastern dessert. My mom’s baking. Easter. Novruz. Spring. Home. Sweets. Spices. My childhood. These are my associations. I just stole it from my 70 year old dad who loved it but used it as his bathroom spray 😆 Everything he had in this bathroom smelled like spices and sugar so this was accompanied by similar smelling hand soaps and lotions from another brand. Anyway, if you can get your hands on it at TJMaxx get it. It’s a beautiful spicy sweet dessert like scent.

another exercise in minimalism from LMG, a bare amber and incense that is absolutely delicious. I've been wearing it on its own a lot; however, due to the bitter colds in my area, the silliage and longevity have been unfortunate. I have the rollerball, and when I smell it on the ball, there's something almost... Christmassy? about it? But I certainly do not loathe it. I've also been using it to "man" up some of my VS scents, like tease CN. I treasure her.

A wonderful dance between smoky incense & vanilla. Not for the faint of heart this is an almost too loud perfume but settles down nicely. Bergamot and Amber melt together in the background behind the incense and vanilla. I get a hint of powdery-ness with this as well, but that could be the vanilla I suppose. All in all if you like a more middle eastern vibe, I would suggest this scent.

My absolute favorite scent since I was 15! Spicy and smokey without leaning too masculine, sexy without being overpowering. I grab a bottle every time I come across one in TJMaxx or Marshalls. Unfortunately it doesn't last very long on me, and it sits pretty close to the skin. I'm still on a desperate hunt for a dupe with better silage and longevity if anyone has any recs!

This is such a comforting, soft, but impactful fragrance! I swear I smell some vanilla and sweetness under the woodsy, smoky incense and amber. Truly intoxicating. Very much a fall / winter scent as it makes me think of taking a trip to the cabin, by the fireplace and drinking hot chocolate while under a cozy blanket. Definitely a fall / winter signature scent for me.

Very nice smokey-incensey amber especially if found at TJX/Marshalls prices. Not a fan of the rest in the Urban Outfitters line that largely smell like the same cheap synthetic sweet sugary syrupy something-something, but Oud Sahara does hit the sweet spot. Unisex IMO.

This perfume is a perfect example of how you don't need to spend over $100 for an outstanding scent. It's long lasting, it's delicious, luxurious and sexy. It starts off spicy and mellows into an amber wood with a vanilla twist.

Found this at TJ Max. Sprayed it on my wrist and couldn’t stop smelling myself! Lasted about 6 hours, reminds me of OM by Gap in the 90’s

VERY similar to Axe's "Oud Wood & Dark Vanilla" line. Fairly simple sweet & woody scent, has a really nice cozy vibe to it

I really like this. It's sexy, dark, good for winter. It seems like it could easily be a unisex scent.

Amazing budget fragrance. Resinous, spicy, warm, smoky, and ambery. Smells like a desert.

In my opinion, this is the most interesting smelling Le Monde Gourmand perfume I've ever tried. I found 1 bottle at my local Marshalls a couple weeks ago, gave it a sniff, thought it smelled amazing, but I was in a hurry and didn't have time to make any purchases. I went back a couple days later with my husband so he could smell it, too, but it was sold! I was a bit disappointed, especially because it was only $12.99 at Marshall's, and everywhere online was 2-3 times the price. Fast forward to today, we happened to be in Marshall's, and we found a new bottle of Oud Sahara, and I snatched it up so quickly. Oud Sahara is sweet, warm, woody, ambery, and full of incense; it's so interesting, you keep sniffing it over and over. As the scent dries down, it becomes very smooth. This is a true unisex perfume and both men and women can rock this scent easily. I layered this with Khamrah and it smell fantastic!!! Tons of great layering potential with this one!

I saw this at a rack store for $10 and gave it a sniff. The opening is a bit resinous with a conifer nuance. The heart is a dry, powdery amber with vanilla. This doesn't have a true frankincense note, it is moreso "smoky". It finishes with a pleasant sandalwood + musk base. No realistic oud note present in this perfume, but the base is reminiscent of the base of TF Oud Wood. I see the comparisons. I can understand where the candle comments are coming from, but I think this is a nice departure from the slew of sugared ambers released by other high street brands. Case and point: the rest of the Urban Outfitters line is sugary gourmand whatever. I can't realistically complain about this dry, smoky amber. It smells good, it mimics the designer stuff pretty well, it's good value for the price. Worth a try if you like the sound of an affordable, non-gourmand amber. However the progression is fast and it is not long lasting for an amber.

Got this for $12.99 at Marshall’s today. Despite obvious amber I don’t get warmth. More powder. A powdery amber with a soft, smoky dry-down. In other words, the incense comes across as a faint scent behind the amber and powder. That keeps it from smelling like frags classically marketed to men. I haven’t smelled Tom Ford Oud Wood, but I have my doubts that this compares to it. I have (clones of) Mancera Red Tobacco, D&G Velvet Incenso, and Amouage Interlude Man. Even the original Passion by Elizabeth Taylor. All four have a dominant incense presence that Oud Sahara does NOT bring to mind. Longevity is under 2 hours on me, but scent bubble is nice. Unique enough to keep. I will try layering as others suggest.

From the Urban Outfitters website Notes: Vanilla, exotic woods (no specific ones noted), bergamot I have the oil and it's a tiny bit smoky, with some sweet vanilla. I don't get a barnyard oud, the slight oud scent I get is smooth. I also don't get incense. Sillage and longevity are both weak on me and I'd probably wear it in autumn and winter, day or night, although it is light enough to wear year-round. Would be good for layering. Unisex. I'd like this a lot more if it lasted longer and was stronger. I wouldn't rebuy this.

Cheap and cheerful; wildflower honey, amber; an English professor I once had kept an empty antique bottle of Amontillado in his classroom that smelled remarkably like this, oddly enough. Not terribly complex, but sometimes simple things are lovely. It's not one I'd go out of my way to find again, but for an impulse buy I was pleasantly surprised. Certainly head and shoulders above the other scents from this line, which all smelled either overwhelmingly chemical, cloyingly sweet, or both.

This is warm like a slightly spicy hug. The Oud is not at all funky-smelling. In the summer I like to layer it with "Cuba" from Demeter which is sweet with notes of burnt sugar (or maybe its rum?) and a pinch of sea salt. Sillage and longevity are weak as others have noted, but this is why I wear it when my usual bold scents wouldn't be as appropriate. And the value is great for the price.

I had the Chai eclair from Urban Outfitters and it was not appealing to me by any stretch of the imagination...but this is really good for a cheapie. Picked it up at Marshall’s for 10 bucks. It smells like Touch Me Bukhoor...or the other incenses Persians and East African women use before their wedding. It’s earthy and smoky with a hint of amber sweetness.

Found it at Marshalls for $6. It's rich, fancy and mysterious. It smells woody, smoky, slightly sweet and spicy. The only downside for me is that after the initial opening, the notes disappear and the only smell I get is of ambroxan (I really don't like it) which predominates the rest. It also has a weak longetivity. Can't complain for that price though.

It smells like incense in a good way. Unisex perfume, layered with softer-sweeter-powdery fragrance you get the ultimate mysterious girl perfume. I have the perfume oil version. Pros : Complex enough on its own. Adds depth to basic perfume. Cons: Projection is intimate and can’t vouch for its longevity. Price: Justified. Easy on your bank account 9/10

This does remind me of Dune, but less complex. It is a very pleasant, comforting scent, and although I don't actually smell cedar, it reminds me of the smell in a sauna (in a good way). This could easily be unisex - in fact, I think it leans a bit masculine. It's a good selection for anyone who wants a delicious scent without sweetness.

Love this offering from Urban Outfitters. It seems richer and of a higher quality than the others. Its more complex than just the two ingredients listed here. When I wear this it transports me to a foreign land where I am shopping at a spice market. Love it!

for $13 at TJMaxx this is great. I think it will be a good layering perfume but I also like it on its own. I get amber, vanilla, and a little woodiness. I wasn’t a fan of other scents I’ve tried in this line.

I like this fragrance but by itself, it smells a little too masculine to me. I like to layer it with an amber scent. I like oud but this one is lighter than a lot of the other ouds I’ve smelled.

I also found this at TJ Maxx for $10. I get the incense, vanilla, and oud notes, but I don't find any bergamot. For the price, it's surprisingly good and it lasted about 8 hours for me.

Woody amber scent. Smells unisex and really nice. There is some sweetness but it's not sweet. More smoky spiced wood and amber. I like this a lot.

I have to say, this starts off a bit masculine for my personal preference. However, it dries down to a perfectly unisex beauty! It’s warm and sexy perfect for fall and winter. If I were to wear it, it would be a nighttime fragrance with a smoky eye and it could be very femme fatale! If my husband was to wear it, I’d want to snuggle up for a cuddle and watch a movie!

smoky, resinous & coniferous. leans more masculine to me but pretty unisex! i like it more than the sugary ambers we see so often. honestly, the main note i get is conifer. with some very smoky sweetgrass incense. and a little bit of amber.

Incense, oud and patchouli top that settles into a generic amber within 15-30 minutes. It was 12$ so I can't complain.

This smells good... for a Glade scented candle maybe, or the car air freshener of a recently separated Armenian guy. It's one of those inoffensive colognes for beginners, with dollar store amber incense sticks vibes and a very faint, I mean almost homeopathic amount of arabian something. I find it rather too masculine, not intricate enough. Projection is medium. 4-6 hours on my skin (the last hour is a delicious vanilla skin scent somehow?!) Paid 19CAD - I regret my purchase

This is how I found out I hate incense notes.

I accidentally sprayed my hand instead of the tester and I paid for it. It was nauseating, made me gag and gave me a headache. The incense an oud are so unbelievably strong and off putting. There are only 2 LMG scents I HATE. This and macaron rose, but by far this is one of the worst perfumes I’ve had the misfortune to put on my body. I don’t understand the positive reviews at all.

Spicy, a bit incense-y, with a touch of woody vanilla. It’s not terribly special but I love it for layering with my more basic vanilla fragrances. I wear it with Eilish to add a little complexity and staying power. Edit: I don’t know why, maybe because it’s just SO HOT and I’m longing for my fall scents, but I’ve become a little obsessed with this one recently. My previous review said “not terribly special” yet here I am, so addicted to this scent I wear it to bed (definitely too hot out to wear during the day right now) and wishing I could find a smell-alike that lasted longer. A real sleeper hit.

This is a dupe for Sensuous. I’ve got Sensuous on one wrist and this stuff on the other, it’s the same to me. The sensuous I have is an old sample from ten years ago.. I can’t believe this is happening because I’m always checking ebay for an old bottle of sensuous.. it’s almost too good to be true. This is not amber and incense, it’s sandalwood. I am loving this stuff, and I bought this for ten bucks at good ole TJMax.. it sure beats the 100 dollar prices on eBay for a bottle of sensuous.

It will undoubtedly be discontinued eventually and become impossible to find. I am positive that I am going to love this one. I also purchased Rose Chocolat as a blind purchase. They both should be here Monday, and I will update this at that time.

This reminds me of a lighter version of SJP Stash, one of my favorite fall scents. It is more masculine leaning but I prefer these scents. They smell cleaner to me. Try layering with a vanilla to sweeten it if you need to. Performance, as with all from this brand, is on par with a body mist.

I got mine for 12.99 at Tjmaax for 30ml. I don’t know why it says oud Sahara if he doesn’t have any oud. It has little similarities with oud wood TF maybe about 60-70%. At first it’s very strong when you first spray them after 5 minutes it’s gone. Great for Fall/winter

i regret smelling this at marshalls edit: i sprayed it on myself and it didnt smell bad actually, sorry. very nice woody amber scent with the hint of incense but i dont see myself buying it. i can only see this being used for layering

Found this at Marshall’s, but it’s discontinued. Smells wonderful. Smoky, woody, and vanilla. Love it! Unfortunately, it doesn’t last long. Aoud Vanille from Mancera is really close to this if you’re looking for something similar.

Smells incredible, but lasts about 5 minutes. It’s like scented water. Typical low quality from this range of fragrances- no doubt this is why they’re at Marshall’s and TJ Maxx. Don’t bother.

Probably the only oud I can handle and one of the more sophisticated scents from this brand and probably the least sweet. The best way I can describe the scent is warm and smokey but subdued.

Cardamom with amber and dry woods. Does bring to mind the desert but with a subtle sweetness. This is nice!

A cheap but good clone of Tom Ford Oud Wood. Got it for $10 at TJ Ross. Worth picking up and layering.
