#007 Idée Fixe

Idée Fixe was also released in 2019 and is the perfume of number seven (#007) within L’Envie Parfums' fragrance collection. Its name means, in English, “Obsession” and its fragrance is oriental with spicy nuances. The official composition of Idée Fixe lists notes of bergamot, cardamom, and black pepper at the top; Iris, cinnamon, sandalwood, benzoin, and vanilla, in the body; Tonka bean, cedar, and Guaiac wood, patchouli, and labdanum, in the base. As soon as it reaches the skin, the fragrance is intense and sensual. Lots of cinnamon, pepper, and vanilla arrive on a flying carpet, which takes you to the Arabian dunes in a matter of seconds. The profile of Niche fragrances that evoke the lifestyle and landscapes of Saudi Arabia is represented in this scent. Idée Fixe brings that type of fragrance that any brand in this segment needs to have in their collection, as it portrays heat, intensity, woods, and all that warm universe, full of spices and resins. The great differential of this creation is in the talent of the perfumers and in the way the notes complement each other, and the accords are composed and, in the end, how they can represent the same thing that has already been sold before, but with different concepts and storytellings. That's because, Idée Fixe doesn't carry notes of OUD or saffron, but they could be listed and everyone would believe. The mix of notes is so rich that you can feel, since leathery nuances from the labdanum to the earthier tones of saffron, or the warmer ones of nutmeg. The woods complement each other, gain texture and even color. A synesthetic effect reveals a brown-colored resin, which oozes and hardens, turning into gum for incense. On the skin, evolution is continuous, and cinnamon is very present. Here, it is not too dry, nor too sweet. But, along with the vanilla note, it ends up giving a smell of cookies being baked. The tonka beans successfully shine and bring almond nuances that can be felt right from the start. And without any effort, you can't stop feeling this delicious fragrance exuding from your body with every movement. Visually, Idée Fixe inaugurates a new color for the bottle, now blue. Its fragrance is not the most innovative in the collection, however, as I mentioned before, it is necessary. Fans of warm and oriental fragrances, with notes of tonka bean, cinnamon, amber, and OUD will delight in this creation. The performance is excellent, and the fragrance combines with some professional environments, sophisticated people, romantic nights, and special occasions. Does it remember any other fragrance? Yes, Rosendo Mateu No4, from the Olfactive Expressions collection. But this one is not sold easily everywhere, especially in Brazil, and you can spend a lot less buying the national product. In my opinion, Idée Fixe (#007), You Had Me at Hello (#006) and Falling Water (#004) are necessary and look good in any collection.

Seco. Chique. Presente. Limpo. A bergamota não aparece, mas empurra de imediato o cardamomo e a pimenta, esta sem aroma, mas com picância. A baunilha age da mesma maneira com as "cascas", sendo o vetor escondido, levando ao oriental levemente medicinal, balsâmico. No fundo sempre haverá o patchouli. Que cheiro bom!
