#005 Stop It I Love It

Stop it, I love it is the fragrance of number five within the L’Envie Parfums collection. The creative concept speaks of that commonplace when you like something too much to the point of being scared. The fragrance of Stop it, I love it is floral-amber and brings notes of bergamot, star fruit, nectarine, lychee, and lily of the valley, at the top of the olfactory pyramid. Then, the body gains a floral backbone, with notes of freesia, iris, peony, ylang-ylang, lotus flower, and jasmine, over a dense gourmand base that brings notes of benzoin, patchouli, condensed milk, vanilla, amber, and cocoa. When sprayed onto the skin, the fragrance takes on shape and color, like full lips covered in bright red lipstick. Yes, Stop it, I love it is more aimed at the female audience (although the company defends that its creations are genderless) and it won't find many breaches within the male audience, especially the Brazilian, which still has many macho traits in its cultural DNA that is full of prejudice. Initially, the fragrance explodes like a mix of red fruits. From the star fruit, little is perceived the freshness. Nectarine is succulent and full of facets that resemble apricots, even more than peaches (although they belong to the family of the latter). The body has several flowers, but the result does not consider those with an aquatic or light effect. It seems that only jasmine and ylang-ylang notes exist, giving off a doughy, indolic smell. And in this composition, everything seems to be upside down, as the base notes explode over the skin from the beginning. So, we have a gourmand accord that brings together the perfect ingredients for a thick and tasty cream, the kind you love to find inside soft bonbons made with pure Belgian chocolate. For shades of chocolate, cocoa, and patchouli, which bring bitterness. For the creamy base, benzoin, and vanilla, warm notes with an addictive smell. For the perfect texture, condensed milk, which is part of any dessert recipe that crosses generations and geographical barriers. Done! Now you can imagine the smell of Stop it, I love it on your skin. It's definitely the least creative, from what I've been able to assess so far (I'm following the numerical order). More than a commercial appeal, I feel it is the perfume with the greatest popular appeal, aiming to conquer the female audience with a format that has already proven to be 100% effective. But is Stop it, I love it a bad fragrance or of poor quality? No way! In fact, after about 40 minutes, when the gourmand side has already revealed itself in full force, the fragrance gains a more unisex character and will please male fans of the A*Men (Thierry Mugler) line with greater ease. But it takes patience to reach this stage and, above all, a strong personality to sustain this sweetness on the hairs that cover your arms and torso. However, I do not recommend buying blindly. Visually, Stop it, I love it brought the color red in its bottle, matching the fragrance style. For obvious reasons, in addition to exuding effortlessly, it has a long duration on the skin. But it's not the kind of fragrance I recommend for very hot days.
