Melle Cléo

Honestly,I just don't get what reviewers below are talking about... Suffocating??? Overwhelming sweet??? Melle Cleo is a gorgeous Litchi-strong wonderful fragrance! (Litchi should be a 'tip off' of some sweetness coming your way.) This is a long-lasting, interesting melange of notes, a little fruity, a bit floral, some nice woods. There is a bit of a "fluffy" feel to it, maybe the Cotton Flower? Not quite powdery, but soft and gentle as a kitten's fur. I bought Melle Cleo blind, and it is probably my most favorite blind buy ever! Sillage is moderate, and folks do tend to complement me on it. Wonderful feminine scent.

There are days I want to feel really, really girly; days I want to put on a hot pink dress and lipstick. On those days, I reach for this. I have beautiful litchi scents and beautiful powdery lipstick scents -- I have FM Lipstick Rose, Guerlain French Kiss, and Indult Manakara. I didn't think I needed this, and yet, I keep coming back to it. Yes, it's very sweet because of the litchi note; which is why I love it, but it also has a fluffy clean quality because of the cotton flower note. I love this!

This is so feminine, bright, sweet lychee, creamy, fun. I could see wearing this on one’s wedding day. It’s happy and girlie. And a little romantic. I like how there’s just a tiny tartness too. I bought it at Jovoy in Paris and it will always remind me of Paris now. BEAST MODE! Scent: 8.6/10 Projection: 10/10 Longevity: 10/10 Sillage: 10/10

There is absolutely nothing on market to compare this scent to. It is litchi and litchi:) Very fruity.

After my most recent run in with litchi (manakara) I was a bit hesitant about this and some have described it as suffocatingly sweet. Well, honey. Compared to Manakara, this is a light breeze in the wind! But I was pleasantly surprised! Juicy tart, quite sharp opening, not too sweet tropical floral, not unlike Delina although I personally would prefer that one as it's more smooth and feels higher quality...and something so familiar about it...oh yes, the night blooming cereus! Dior addict has this note, one which I've been wearing recently. This one to me is fairly light, feminine, unique, but safe to wear anywhere.

Clèo de Merode was a muse, so beautiful and captivating, graceful at elder age (Vogue 64)... The perfume dedicated to her is the same. It has spirit, it has sweet and innocent vibe, but also is sophisticated and elegant. Litchi dominates the fragrance and makes the rose aroma more jammy. It is romantic combination, developed in noble palisander smell. There is a spicy undertone of bergamot and cereus, but quite subtle. The perfume is cozy, cotton-like, despite the mossy base. It is easy to be enchanted and the spirit lasts for long.

This is suffocating, and reminds me of the smell of the syrup drained from a tin of fruit cocktail. The rose note peeks through every now and again, offering a Turkish Delight aroma. This aspect is very pleasant, but the sweetness of this composition is overwhelming to me. If I wore it outside I'd be afraid of being descended upon by a swarm of wasps. Edit: In response to SumoTigerCat, not all litchi scents are, or indeed have to be sweet. See Miss Charming, Miracle, Chloe as examples. I tried Melle Cléo as part of a sample set, knowing nothing about the notes, with an open mind. I didn't like it, for the reasons I gave above, which isn't that difficult to understand.

Just received it from France. Huge bottle! Litchi and cotton candy and rose are prominent notes. Rich, sweet (but not cloying)and interesting! Super long longevity (6+ hrs) and great projection. But not what I expected. 99% close to Guimauve by Reminiscence, which I sold recently, and that is why I have a brand new bottle for sale on the biggest e-market. My loss is your gain if you are into those notes!

Litchi and roses with a slight suffocating cottons! i feel happy but as if someone is suffocating me while i am fruitti happy. it's kind of weird but the the sharpened roses mingled with the slight litchi and formed a quite sharp mix then poured on some dry cottons. It is a struggle rather than a full fun fragrances.

i wanted to love it so bad after reading the positive reviews but to me this just smells like a grandma and old makeup

we got got one compliment that it smells like christmas :)
