Coco du Yemen

Just a couple of weeks ago I read an article published here on fragrantica about Les Fleurs du Golfe's new collection. I was searching for a new coconut fragrance and Coco du Yemen sounded really interesting. As so many other fragheads, my temptation of getting yet another scent took over and I blind bought a bottle. I didn't have much of the expectations, as many of the blind buys appeared to be quite disappointing, but not this one! Ohhh sweet God, this is beautiful. Very coconut- warm amber and vanilla centered. Gourmand type, not overly sweet or cloying. When I sniff it up close I am thinking of vanilla coconut pina colada drank somewhere on a carribean island. Give me a spoon and I can eat this fragrance! I can't smell any white florals, only the sweet, warm ingredients that I mentioned before. Parameters are astonishingly good, it lasts way over 8 hours with 3 sprays. I managed to overspray it on the first day as I underestimated how strong it was. I would say that this perfume is very versatile and suits spring, summer and fall. It's a bit too bright and happy for the winter months. I am really looking forward to test other fragrances from Les Fleurs du Golfe... well actually ordered 2 bottles already

Imagine a tropical coconut that reminds you of the Caribbean that gives you the vibe of warm weather lounging by the beach. Then you get a sweet and cozy Vanilla that is warm and inviting. Not too cloying, but a beautiful smelling fragrance. That a true gourmand lover would enjoy. Really looking forward to exploring more from this house and there quality fragrances.

This is a sweet authentic coconut smell, one of the most realistic I’ve smelled honestly. Like you opened a bag of shredded coconut. It’s definitely dessert like, almost like a coconut cake. One of my favorite coconut fragrances for sure! Not cloying, great for summer!

I was excited to try this because of the straight notes, no musk or amvbroxan, etc. Though not listed, there's something synthetic and sticky that lingers, like musk or ambroxan. Residue-ish. If it didn't have that, and was "fresher", it would be really nice. Undoubtedly, many will love it, just not what I was hoping for.

I was expecting this to be super sweet, surprisingly it is not. If there was a sweeter version of this, I would more than likely get both. One for warmer weather & one for colder weather. Just under 100.00 is a fair price. This is not your banana boat lotion smell at all.

Lovely perfume-soft and feminine . Would be ideally for a summer evening when you wearing white light dress. BIG problem here-it sits super close to skin. You can spray as many sprays as you like but this perfume disappears in a first hour... Sad

Slightly dissapointed with this one due to the hype on it. Not a bad smelling fragrance, don't get me wrong but just not as "Coconut cookie, gourmand creaminess" i was hoping for.
