Emeraude Gourmande

I acquired a bottle of this a couple of weeks ago. What can I say... it's a sweet, fun to wear perfume with atomic sillage. It has a prominent red fruit note and together with bergamot it makes magic! Emeraude Gourmande has extrait de parfum quality so don't overspray. Totally unisex

Emeraude Gourmande (Esmeralda Gourmet, in Portuguese) was launched in 2019, is part of the Les Princes Du Golfe collection, and brings, in its concept, the idea of being carried away by a journey of a thousand and one floral notes, a joke with “A Thousand and One Nights”, which is a collection of stories and popular tales from the Middle East. Its fragrance is floral-gourmand and combines notes of coconut, bergamot, caramel, orange, and red fruits, on top; Jasmine Sambac, orange blossom, iris, and patchouli, in the body; Musk of the Orient and vanilla, in the base of the olfactory pyramid. When touches the skin, Emeraude Gourmande presents itself as a fragrance of greater appeal to the female audience, which can scare the male audience a little bit. It is sweet and explodes in nuances of coconut and caramel. In fact, a nice note of coconut, by the way! However, in a short time, the floral accord blooms and the orange blossom gives it a certain luster, a luminosity, reducing that sweet sensation of the beginning. Although it evolves in a delicate way, Emeraude Gourmande manages to transform itself on the skin, to the point of revealing a more shareable fragrance. And the dry down brings a musk that, on my skin, was totally overshadowed by the strong presence of vanilla, which is extremely creamy. Emeraude Gourmande does not have a fragrance as exotic as that of Orient Express, for example, but its performance is on the same level: high durability with great projection. In visual matters, the color of the liquid is very beautiful, consistent with the proposal, and stands out in any collection. In my opinion, I believe that Emeraude Gourmande is a perfume that will satisfy women who make constant use of floral and gourmand fragrances, as well as men who like oriental and vanilla fragrances. And it is worth remembering: it has a concentration of Extrait de Parfum.

i purchased this specifically because i love poison girl edt but its longevity is laughably and utterly dismal and i wanted something to layer with it to make it more long-lasting. i wanted a similar floral fruity gourmand (specifically, with orange + other citrus top notes, orange blossom in the middle, and some caramel and vanilla at the bottom to round it out, add sweetness, and add the goirmand quality). i’ve just opened my bottle of emeraude gourmand and sprayed it on one arm and poison girl on the other. the bergamot makes emeraude gourmand a little more bitter, a little more tart, a little more sharp, and a little more spicy. and the tonka and heliotrope add an almost nutty-almondy quality to PGedt and make it overall slightly more toned down, slightly sweeter, and ever so slightly more palatable (in my opinion). despite the differences, however, so far they are both comparable and complementary. i maybe think i hit the nail on the head with this one, and i cannot wait to try a true wear test over the next couple of days (probably emeraude gourmand alone day 1 and with PGedt day 2). legit excited... wish me luck. ☺️
