Night Flower

Night Flower was launched in 2019, is part of the Les Princes Du Golfe collection, and tries to portray, through its fragrance, the rare beauty of some flowers that only reveal themselves in the dark, under the light of the stars. And when we, Brazilians, think of nocturnal and opulent flowers, the first one that comes to mind is the Dama-Da-Noite (Lady-of-The-Night). But it is worth remembering that the one that is most popular is of the bush type (Cestrum Nocturnum), which is also known as Night-blooming jasmine and that has the power to perfume an entire street with its small white flowers. Another flower that is also called Lady-of-The-Night is the Ipomoea Alba, which is born from a vine. The Lady-of-The-Night considered official is part of the genus Selenicereus. Another one that also wins the title of Lady-of-The-Night (or Queen-of-the-Night) and is more common in tropical countries is the Epiphyllum type, also called Cactus Orchid. That said, it is worth explaining that most fragrances that try to achieve this goal, end up exploring the facets of jasmine more often. But Night Flower follows a different path and its fragrance is more oriental-vanilla than floral, which is a negative point for those who create expectations based only on its name. Night Flower combines notes of mandarin orange and pink lychee, on top; Tonka beans and white musk, in the body; Vanilla, in the base. The result is extremely creamy and comfortable and the fruity output is almost imperceptible since the tonka bean and vanilla notes dominate its entire evolution. Here is an ideal product for fans of fragrances that bring an almondy, creamy, and sweet tonka bean, in perfect harmony with vanilla. This combo does not usually disappoint and proves to be unisex most of the time. On the other hand, if Night Flower manages to please easily, it also has a negative side, since its fragrance loses in innovation and revealed itself - at least to me – to be just one more among many others already known in the Designers segment. The performance is impeccable, the fragrance is engaging and the best results will come on colder days. Undoubtedly, Night Flower has a lot of quality and is delicious on the skin, but it is not able to stand out in a more demanding collection. The suggestion here is not to buy blindly, but to test through a sample set.

Super hard for me to describe on its own but thus smells a lot like van cleef and arpel orchidee vanille. There’s no chocolate note here but I think the vanilla x Tonka here is playing that velvety role the chocolate note plays in orchidee vanille. It’s not quite as complex or realistic though but it also lasts longer so there’s that. I don’t get as much lychee as I was hoping for though, more like a non descript slightly sweet fruitiness that peeks in, in the opening. They both sit close to the skin but if I had to pick, I’d stick with the original orchidee vanille, but this is a good option though if you want to save a few bucks as they’re very similar on my skin.

So to my surprise, this ended up being my fav out of the bunch!. Yes even more so than Coco du yemen 😱😱!. This is very very nice, does have a slight similarity to Nishane Ani but nowhere near a clone/dupe. This also leans a little more feminine but smells soooo good that me as a man don't give a **** I'm still gonna rock this bad boy hahaha. It's quite a linear frag but that's fine as the tonka and vanilla are there from the initial blast!.

A more likable version (to ME) of Chasing Light 19.10 by NYEDO. That one smelt like smarties or like some type of purse candy. This one has that same vibe but it’s creamier and prettier. Very soft and feminine.

The name of this fragrance immediately got my attention, I really hope this one would smell like those rare beautiful summer flower bushes that only bloom at night! Definitely on my wishlist ..

No nose, very bad quality, and all the perfume in the same year (2019) : brand of dupes 100%. Its not nose but "no one knows" lol
